The United Steel Workers have brought 22 cases to the WTO due to China. They have won all 22.

I will try to find the video…..

      March 13, 2012 at 12:56 pm

I can’t find the video…but here is part of the transcript…

If you really want to see someone that knows what they`re doing and
stood up to the Chinese, look at what President Obama has done. We have
brought 24 cases and we have won every one.

SCHULTZ: You brought 24 cases in, and the president has supported you
on all of them, and you`ve won all of them?

GERARD: These are all cases —

SCHULTZ: What do you need the president to do now on this?

GERARD: I think what the important thing on this is to make sure that
we give the president, through the House of Representatives and the Senate,
the kind of support. We`re going to take this issue to the states. We`re
going to take it to governors. We`re going to take it to auto cities, auto
      towns, where auto parts are.

We`re going give the president the kind of support that he needs, so
that he can initiate this case. As I say, it is going to be a huge case
because it is on a broad section of auto parts. And we have got to
identify, part by part. And we`re not going to let China — we have
already lost 400,000 auto parts jobs since the recession came.

We`re not going to let them take anymore of our jobs.

Oh yeah that dude from Newsweek who was throwing cold water on PBO’s briefing before it even began. He didn’t even know what PBO was going to say and he was already ranting crap. I just switched the channel and went back to watching Frasier.

      March 13, 2012 at 12:02 pm

MSNBC has to meet the approval of their corporate masters; otherwise they will no longer be a client. I’m still angry at NBC for pushing a bogus poll that PBO’s approval dropped due to oil prices.

Explaining the “dip” in Obama approval rating: They polled more Republicans!

But what’s behind the headlines? What’s beyond the pundits and the pontifications? Why did President Obama’s approval numbers really go down? Or did it even actually go down? What really accounts for the reversal from last month? The real answer: they polled more Republicans this time than last. Ta-da! I decided to compare the party ID numbers attached to this poll vs. the ones attached to the last poll.

Note: You may notice that the February numbers are 2/12 and not 2/4, which is when the last poll was released. But given that these were the exact numbers attached when the 2/4 polls came out (and with a 2/12 label even then), I’m thinking that’s a typo from the pollsters.

LL Have I told you lately how much I loooooooooooooove your brain? Your writing is not only brilliant in terms of grammar, flow, sentence structure, composition etc. but you also write from the head and the heart. You write intelligently but also ask that we take a concrete look at ourselves. Our flaws, our prejudices, our shortcomings, our triumphs, our positives and think about how we and the other side affect society for the good or the bad. In addition, your sense of humor comes across loud and clear. Example: “Oh, and Rick? Take your sweater vest and give it a Santorum.”

      Thank you my friend.

p.s. I left a comment in the comments section of your article. I anxiously await your next article.

    Hi All,

Morning to you. The Bloomberg report really points out the lies in those two media reports. It also says that for the first time more people are saying that they are better off since POTUS’ election than not. There is also a very positive sentence in the first paragraph of the article that Blondegrrl has linked about the stock market today. It says ” Rising sales were pretty impressive in that rising gas prices hasn’t hurt the consumer” Right now the Dow is at 13066, up 106.

Tweeters should tweet parts of both of these articles to the media.

Apparently, Andrew Sullivan has not gotten the memo about the polls being rigged. He can be so stupid sometimes.

      • March 13, 2012 at 12:49 pm

Well, you have to remember that Sully writes for Daily Beast, which is owned by Newsweek. Whether he likes to admit it or not, he’s part of the MSM, and the MSM never questions itself.

        • March 13, 2012 at 1:27 pm

well, I have my issues with Sully but he does question himself, especially when he gets tons of feedback from emails. I would suggest that you send him some of your great columns. Really, if I wrote as well as you, I would send him links. And even my comments have made it onto the Dish, so, I know Sullivan reads his emails. Educate the guy, he has his blindspots but he is open to other points of view.

          • March 13, 2012 at 1:53 pm

Absolutely, Sully often finds himself below the learning curve but when confronted with evidence he often listens and acknowledges which, IMO, puts him leagues above his compatriot “conservatives”.

Rep. Bob Turner (R-NY) has announced that he is running for Senate against Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand — after he effectively lost via redistricting the House seat he picked up in a huge upset in last September’s special election.

“I ran for the House six months ago as a private citizen fed up with what is happening in Washington. I could not sit and watch career politicians sink my nation deeper into economic crisis” Turner said in a statement, the New York Daily News reports. “Brooklyn and Queens voters, of all political parties, graciously responded by sending me to Congress. It now appears that their district has been eliminated.”

Turner won his seat in a special election, following the resignation of Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner in a scandal involving cybersex-chats — only for the district to be carved up among its neighbors, due to the state losing two seats. Running against Gillibrand could be an even tougher challenge for Turner, as the state is likely to vote heavily for President Obama — and Gillibrand already won a special election in 2010, winning with 62% of the vote in a GOP wave year.

Ahhhhh…….right on cue. Here comes Ed Henry with the bogus CBS poll about 54% blaming PBO for gas prices. But he won’t mention the Bloomberg poll where 66% of Americans blame the oil companies and Middle East tensions for rising gas prices.

    • March 13, 2012 at 1:50 pm

I’m under the impression that Bloomberg tends to have more optimistic and realistic polls and reports these days (at least in our terms.) It’s owned by a fairly liberal billionaire who can afford to go his own way, and who, from what I can see, cares more about realistic prospects for the business community than the prospects for Mitt Romney. Interesting. I see the ABC poll as the establishment Repubs trying to make the case for Romney’s supposed electability in the face of his just-barely “front runner” status.

I’m in awe of the twitter brigade here. Even though the MSM is controlled by Republicans, the journalists themselves can’t keep lying if they can’t get away with it. I’m not on twitter, largely for time reasons, since just following the TOD family around is a meaningful time commitment. But I was thinking that those of us who hesitate for this reason could join, and if there were a place on the TOD site for twitter campaigns, could at least join in those. If we had such a spot, an intro with instructions gleaned from everyone’s experiences would be great.

Just 29 Percent Believe Limbaugh Apology Was Sincere

Rush Limabugh continues to bleed advertisers even after he apologized for his vitriolic attack on Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke, and a new Rasmussen poll suggests why — most people don’t think he was being sincere. Just 29 percent of likely voters believe Limbaugh’s apology was earnest, while 53 percent think it was insincere. Indeed, Limbaugh use his apology to advance his false narrative about Fluke’s congressional testimony and to attack liberals.
