As a TV sports reporter, Sarah Palin allegedly got up close and personal with future NBA player Glen Rice back in 1987.

Author Joe McGinniss writes that she and Rice had a one-night stand nine months before she married Todd Palin. Rice was then a junior at the University of Michigan and had come to town for the Thanksgiving “Great Alaska Shootout” basketball tournament when he met Sarah Heath, and things allegedly got hot and heavy in Sarah’s younger sister’s dorm room at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

The New York Times obtained a copy of the book, which also cites a friend saying the young Sarah Heath “had a fetish for black guys for a while.”

          She does not deny this.

Many RACISTS have slept with Black people. Surely you have you heard of slave owners sleeping with their slaves. And today, many racists will sleep with Blacks out of curiosity.

No, the repugs don’t hate blacks, asians, browns, women, etc., because they love all the same people that are IN THEIR PARTY….Republicans HATES Democrats, liberals, or any party that is not within their party. I am sure she loves and respects “999 Herb” Cain and that Alan West guy because they are cut from the same cloth. Republicans are the American Taliban, they only like people in their tribe.

Remember her shooting target pamphlet on several Dems including Gabby Giffords’ District? Gabby even warned her ahead of time that it was dangerous to use that rhetoric. She whined when people blamed her of having gone too far.

I can’t watch it. I never watch anything related to Sarah Palin. She should have gone back to Alaska the day after the election and never have been heard of again, but she had to stick around spewing hate and bile and claiming that only her kind of Americans are “real” Americans, and well…that means that the majority of Americans are not real Americans doesn’t it? She is a waste of space and has stirred up the most vile emotions in people and caused so much grief. I always turn off the TV, refuse to watch or just leave the room if I even catch sound or sight of her. And I absolutely refuse to listen to her insult my President.

I think the number of people who think SP has something of value to say could fit into an old-fashioned phone booth. Her 15 minutes ran out a long time and she’s just filling contractual obligations by appearing on tv. Nobody really wants her. Back in 2008 she was reputed to have a lot of sex appeal for some sad Republican men, but her looks are fading fast. She’s like a cabbage patch doll. Hot for a short time and now woefully out of touch and past her prime.

PLEASE don’t let THAT parody of whatever cheat PBO of even the tiniest space in your (political) emotions. She is nothing but flesh and bones IMO, a living contrast to the true humanity the Obamas display daily. Alaska Barbie is only worthy of our mention at this crucial time as a reminder of our good wisdom in choosing PBO and a reminder to be wiser in extending his mandate with a more fleshed out support team. Go raise your children and grandchildren, Alaska B, and may God protect them from you at the same time.

Bringing this from the below thread, Santorum has left the building, lol! (h/t Miranda at pragmaticobotsunite.com)

Santorum also took on Gingrich obliquely, reminding the crowd that he and his own wife, Karen, have been married 21 years and home-schooled their seven children. On Friday, he was less subtle in drawing an implicit contrast with Gingrich’s history of marital infidelity, castigating him for sitting on a sofa next to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) in a TV ad calling for steps to address climate change.

“I didn’t sit on the couch with anybody,” Santorum said. “I would only sit on the couch with my wife. Period. No other women — particularly not Nancy Pelosi.”

Okay, so in his world, it’s unseemly for people who aren’t married to *sit on the same couch together.* Thank you a million, unabashed and enthusiastic supporters of this POTUS, for keeping this freakshow out of the WH, and ignore ANYONE who makes lame accusations of worship or being a mouthpiece, whatever.

    • 68 Linda
      March 10, 2012 at 6:30 pm

Santorum is a nasty hate filled person … and he is a liar…..

Rick Santorum sent two of his sons to a Washington, D.C. all-boys school affiliated with Opus Dei, the Catholic group whose members were portrayed as sinisterly weird in the sensationalistic Da Vinci Code but in reality only engage in some mild self-mutilation, “nothing traumatic,” as the group’s website says. Santorum says he’s not a member of Opus Dei, though he did go to Rome in 2002 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding, and he belongs to the St. Catherine of Siena Parish, “a favorite of Opus Dei,” the Washington Post says.

He wears an opus dei bracelet.

        March 10, 2012 at 6:35 pm

He’s too pure and precious to even sit on a couch with a woman he’s not married to? He really is out to lunch. In light of this ridiculous…again, I really do thank supporters of Obama/Biden 2012 for unbridled support in the face of attacks from both the right (“Obamabot cultists!”) and the left (“Obamabot apologists!”) and keeping sanity in the WH in the face of so much absurdity. Yes we can, yes we did, and yes we will.

        • March 10, 2012 at 10:55 pm

He won’t even sit next to a woman who’s not his wife (I assume that doesn’t include his own daughters), and yet his wife lived with a man for years who was old enough to be her father. Interesting… I also heard that his wife was his first girlfriend, and that he didn’t date in college. Nothing wrong with that choice, but he shouldn’t try and extend those policies to directives for other people. Not many people live that way anymore.

This couch thing is so absurd, it’s like an SNL skit. There’s a mile long list of criticisms you could make about Newton, but sitting on a couch with someone who isn’t his wife isn’t one of them. Can you imagine how it would make someone look at a party if they jumped up every time a woman sat on the same couch? Even the Victorians didn’t come up with this lulu. It’s always been my belief through all the long years he was a senator that Little Ricky has a screw loose and needs some serious treatment.

She also said “to a time BEFORE we had divisions by class and income and the color of our skin.” It doesn’t matter what she says; her supporters listen because it’s her, and she’s passionate and hits the right notes. Kind of like the teacher’s voice in the Charlie Brown specials. You don’t need to hear the exact words – you know what she’s saying and what she means.

She’s exactly like Peppermint Patty’s teacher–blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But you can bet if she were even older, ugly and didn’t wear short skirts and a push up bra, nobody would even pretend to listen to her. If SP or anyone else on the planet, says there was a time in the history of the human race when we did not have division of class and color, that person is hallucinating. She’s describing Eden and Adam and Eve and somehow connecting PBO to the reason why we’re not all living there now. This is not a sane mind.

I’ll have to listen to her again but hate that idea. I thought Sarah Palin was referring to Prez Obama wanting to take us all back to a time where everyone was divided by color and class like before the Civil War. So I think she is trying to say he wants everyone divided into groups which makes no sense to me as why would any Black person want to go back to slavery? So if that is the case she must think everything is hunky dory now with no divisions due to class or color. I guess you have to be a Far Right Republican to understand this kind of thinking since I totally don’t get it. The GOP is pushing the top 1% to get all the breaks and fighting women’s health rights and pushing for immigration laws that would make their life hell as well as disenfranchising and suppressing voting rights. To me they are doing more to divide this country than I have seen in the last 30 years. The civil rights era was an angry divisive time that we had to go through to improbe the situation. I hate thinking of going backwards.

    • March 10, 2012 at 9:39 pm

I don’t think SP has ever taken a history course as she showed with her idiotic distortion of Paul Revere’s ride. Chances are high that she has an elementary school understanding of the Civil War and some cockamamie view of what slavery is all about. There has never been a connection between that women’s brain and her mouth, which would indicate that either she never thinks before she talks or she’s dumber than dirt.

Sarah Palin knows nothing of American History. As a former Canadian, I knew more about the US than Sarah when I first moved to the US. Since then, I’ve been teaching American history for the past 10+ years, and I can tell you, she knows nothing and what she thinks she knows and strings together make no sense. That she convinces others that she does know history is alarming to say the least.

This creature is out of her mind! I’m speechless at her ignorant word salad! but for me the real culprit is the MSM that gives her kind a platform to share their hatred and lies. I sure don’t want to be near when karma hits her.

Hang tight everyone for they’re gonna try all their tricks and more but it won’t work. We’ll face them with courage, truth and a shining light so they can’t hide in the shadows anymore.

    • March 10, 2012 at 7:55 pm

Thank you Canuck Joyce. And especially for those encouraging words … “We will face them with courage, truth …” aw, truth. Gosh sometimes I wonder. I haven’t been at TOD for too long, but I love it here. I really love the photos, and have made many of them my background on my various computers (home and office … and we are self-employed so I can do what I want!) … I had noticed that on this site there are not very many mentions of Sarah Heath Palin and I thought well maybe that is a taboo subject … I know that this site focuses mostly on the positive (and she is definitely not one). So I have respected that and come to enjoy a respite from Palin while visiting here and looking at the pictures of our President, VP, First Lady, Second Lady etc. But Palin seems to be escalating the vitriolic rhetoric, throwing down several gauntlets in some attempt I think to get the White House or more specifically our President to acknowledge her existence, whether positively or negatively, she won’t care because she will spin it whichever way she can.

Yes, I am tired. Tired of her being called Governor. She quit, after only two years, with no really solid explanation .. I don’t think you can retain the title, even in an honorary way, after that action. Yes, I am tired. I am tired of her bashing my President, who seems to be about the most decent human being I have ever known of! Yes, I am tired. I am tired of the MSM giving a platform to someone who is stupid, ill informed, angry, ignorant and who when viewed by the world abroad and Canada and Mexico really reflects so badly on our country right now – they must (and I know they do) wonder, why, why is this woman allowed to say the things she says.

      None dare call it treason?

Now on to my wine and awaiting the sharing of the reactions to Game Change by those willing to share their experiences.

      I do love this blog!

  13. March 10, 2012 at 6:53 pm

Balloon Juice is talking about Palin too. Here is John Cole:

“Palin elicits feelings in me I am not proud of having, and this is a testament to what a truly ugly, awful human being she really is. Just the other day on Fox, she was there spewing her mindless bile, accusing the President of hating white people because of the color of their skin. She had the audacity to claim thet the nation’s first black President actually wanted to revert to pre-Civil war era racism. Why? Because Obama hugged his law professor 20+ years ago.

It’s really hard to measure what an awful, hideous, disgusting human being she is- a worthless sack of flesh whose only mission in life is to sow hatred and animosity, a sad soul with no ability to empathize or behave as a rational actor, and it is worth remembering that this foul beast almost was the Vice President of the United States. Thanks for that, John McCain.”

    • March 10, 2012 at 7:02 pm

Yeah – she elicits the worst emotions. The President had a white mother and was raised by his white grandparents. I don’t believe the President harbors any animosity towards people who are white, black, brown or any other color – especially since his family is made up of people from every color in the spectrum. If he has any animosity towards anyone, it would only be towards people as hateful and vile as Palin and those who run with her.

      • March 10, 2012 at 7:08 pm

I don’t even think he has animosity towards them either but he may have some for the people/msm that propped her up.

Isn’t it amazing how they try to portray PBO as the blackest, black man in America when he was raised by his white mother and grandparents, grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia and attended Occidental, Columbia and Harvard all places that are just teeming with black folk. I guess his time in Chicago is supposed to trump all his life experiences prior to his arrival there. They rarely mention his mom’s influence only his dad who was absent from his life. I wonder why?

Theo, SP is desperate. She was able to squeeze money out of her little band of supporters for a long time while she teased them about running for president. With the money they sent her she developed a taste for an elaborate life style and enjoyed being in the limelight and having a Fox studio in her home. She did not want to do the work required of participating in debates and slugging through primaries, so she finally had to say she was not running for president. Well the money dried up. Her band of supporters were disappointed and stopped showering her with cash. Now she’s making noises about being available to be tapped at the Republican convention and even said she’d considered running as VP again. She has a few months left on her FOX contract so she’s milking it to draw in the suckers who think she’s still “hot.” Her time has run out and she will do anything at this point to get the cash cow operating again.

One of the gifts Barack Hussein Obama brings to his Presidency to all of us is his mixed ancestry which values all people equally. It is in his DNA a visual example of humanity and love. Sarah Palin, Fox, RW commentators and GOP legislators have spewed hate at him and accuse him of spewing hate. There are many that do hate PBO whether it be for racist reasons, political reasons, or just for believing the lies being told. SP’s lies will be believed by them. Thinking people who have seen PBO working really hard to help us will be unable to believe her lies.

I know one thing that cannot be true in the movie……

Apparently there is a scene with her talking to her son over in Iraq ( according to Chris Matthews ) and you can hear gun fire …..but her son was NEVER in combat .

Maybe it was a practice range ????

From what I have heard about the movie it does not touch the tip of the iceberg of how insane and evil the half term governor is. The Morning Joe crew insists the movie is fair and in many ways paints a favorable impression of her.

I got the distinct impression that the Morning Joe crew went out of their way not to be gloating or smarmy about Palin when talking about the movie…in fact, they made a big deal of mentioning all the “stress” she was under as a VP candidate, and how this movie could be viewed as being very sympathetic of her.

Call me foolish, but I feel they were deliberately trying to be kind and “impartial”. I have a feeling it won’t be warrented, though.

There’s been a good amount of hand-wringing that Julianne Moore’s performance elicits some sympathy for Palin.

That’s what a good actor does. A good actor has to get comfortable in the skin of the character or it’s a phony performance by an actor making outside judgments.

I directed A Doll’s House a number of years ago and had an actress who absolutely hated who the character was. I almost replaced her after weeks of rehearsal. If you can’t find comfort within your character’s skin, then you minimize any depth and make the character a caricature. I would try ad nauseum to get through this actress’ head that if Nora couldn’t be comfortable with her life in the first half of the play, how could her discovery of self-awareness have any impact at the end?

From the interview with the screenwriter of Game Change, it’s clear that nowhere in the film is the decision to choose Palin made sympathetic, or that there is any minimization of how ill-prepared she was to be in that position. A good actress is going to get inside that character and make it more than a caricature. Which is a monumental feat, considering Palin is a living caricature. More power to Julianne Moore!

        • March 10, 2012 at 9:50 pm

Thanks for this informed insight into the sympathetic aspect. I was really mad when I saw that producer stating that the movie would leave people sympathetic to Palin. I still have no intention of watching it, but at least looking at this sympathy thing from a director’s perspective helps to understand how Julianne Moore was able to make this character her own. I really like Julianne Moore and her work, so this puts me at ease if there is any hint of sympathy towards Palin.

After watching the movie, she is anything but sympathetic. She is dim, she is clueless. But in her own mind, she is honest with herself. Or at least that is what Julianne Moore conveys which makes Palin more real and more devastating. It’s a great, terrifying portrayal.

Oh, thank you so much for this, defy. I loved, loved, loved this woman and saw her as a role model through all my adolescent years. She was a woman of great courage and wisdom and FDR would have been a lesser man and president without her. She was the one who kept pushing him on civil rights when he would have preferred to avoid the controversy. She was the one who reached across races and maintained an unwavering vision of a world where dignity and equality were upheld by all people and nations. She was far ahead of her time and had a big and generous heart.

Sully’s assessment is much closer to the brutal truth. I suspected that many of the harsher realities were smoothed over in an attempt to make the movie palatable to all. And—-the sources were the McCain staff, Republicans all, and even though Schmidt & Co. now admit their huge mistakeroo in plucking Palin from the wilderness, they were probably loathe to own up to the amount and depth of the damage Palin brought for which they were ultimately responsible. It has to be the craziest, most irresponsible political decision ever. The “what if” scenario is mind-boggling—–which would have affected not only this country but the entire world.

Desertflower, by the time I saw your comment last nite regarding this, I was too fatigued to formulate any words of admiration of you, so I gotta do it now while I have it on my mind. This is absolutely the most unselfish, wonderfully motivated, beautiful and unapologetic gesture, which came right on time for me when I’d read it. It moved me. Both you and Sue, touch me in so many ways as I follow the diary everyday. Even though my days have been filled with the stresses of my mom’s illness, I still manage to check in and read up on PBO and I often gather strength from him. Much like I’m drawing strength and inspiration from my mom. In her hospital wing where she’ll be transitioning into hospice care, all the patients have long had their crowning glories stolen away by cancer, but you can see a will to survive that translates into such a beautiful and pure courage that I’ve never seen before. It’s pretty amazing. Before these past few months, I hadn’t spent more than a couple days inside a hospital at any given time, and it’s really been an eye opening experience to witness cancer up close and personally. You, my dear, are a treasure for doing this.

How can a woman who is a quitter in office have the nerve to attack a man who is staying the course? Don’t know if this is true but was there not infidelity in her marriage from her and also her husband? Should she not be trying to get that goofy daughter back on the right track? And the goofy son? Alright, so I’m watching “Criminal Minds” and the episode is about a serial killer who stages home evasions where the whole family is killed and the “assailant” is “allegedly” gunned down by the homeowner, but that not the case, what is actually happening is that the serial killer is staging this evasions to hide the fact that he’s purposely killing “browns and blacks” and leaving them at the home evasions to ramp up the fear of the residents against gangs.

But here’s the trick: the reason he’s doing this? Because a candidate for mayor that he supports is big on hate rhetoric ala blacks, illegals and gangs are ruining nice white neighborhoods. The candidate is actually putting the idea in the killer’s head that black and latinos are the enemy.

    Pretty interesting episode right?

It’s amazing how they rip stories from the headlines and turn them into captivating episodes on really top-notch shows. Hateful, divisive, vitriolic words like the kind the Sarah Palin’s the Rush Limbaugh’s, the Glen Beck’s, and the whole Fox News clan spews is dangerous for minorities in this country. When what millions watch everyday on Fox News tells them PBO is foreign born, he’s a muslim terrorist, he’s a black radical. When they delegitimize him everyday, they give credibility to some nut job out there who isn’t playing with a full deck of cards and validate his insane, warped, and unproven fears. A listener of Glen Beck’s after listening to him delegitimize a Democratic official over and over again, decided to “help” Glen Beck and rid the world of the official. So he packed his trunk full of ammo and drove all the way to the official’s office. Luckily he was stopped before he could cause horrific damage. Others who have listened to Bill O’Reilly rant on and on and on have also been driven to commit such horrific crimes. Ever since PBO won election, militia groups and white supremacists groups have risen at an astonishing rate and no wonder, when they hear cretins, racists, bigots, prejudiced hate-mongers say he wants to take away the rights of white people.

She’s a racist pure and simple and I’m not surprised Criminal Minds explores the darker side of public figures and how their hate negatively impacts those who listen to them.

      • March 10, 2012 at 9:35 pm

It’s murder by proxy. The people who actually pull the trigger are mentally unstable. They are mere tools for the hate mongers who get to sit back, call the killers crazy and take no responsibility for the hate they have stirred up. It’s just sickening.

The clip gets interesting with a very animated Romney at 10:35 into the clip. At 15:35 is where he starts talking about the second coming of Christ.

    He says the following:

“The Church says that Christ appears and splits the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. That’s what the Church says. And then, over a thousand years of the millennium, that the world is reigned in two places, Jerusalem and Missouri. . . . The law will come from Missouri, and the other will be from Jerusalem.”

Sarah Palin e-mails ABC News to let them know that the movie Game Change does NOT matter to her ONE LITTLE BIT!!!!!!

“I believe my family has the right priorities and knows what really matters,” Palin emailed. “For instance, our son called from Afghanistan yesterday and he sounded good, and that’s what matters. Being in the good graces of Hollywood’s ‘Team Obama’ isn’t top of my list.”

Well of COURSE this movie does not “matter to her.” THAT is why she has been talking about it nonstop on Fox News, had SarahPAC produce a video refuting the film, and had the few people remaining on her payroll put out a statement saying that the movie should be labeled “historical fiction.”

Isn’t that how EVERYBODY treats something that “doesn’t matter” to them?

Sarah Palin accepts the blessing of Pastor Thomas Muthee, who asks Jesus to fund her political campaigns, and protect her from witchcraft. Really.

Thomas Muthee (born c. 1955)[1] is a Kenyan preacher and bishop. During the 2008 United States Presidential campaign, his visit to the Wasilla, Alaska Assembly of God in 2005, including a blessing that he gave Sarah Palin, was widely discussed.

    • 213 Linda
      March 10, 2012 at 8:18 pm

Bishop Muthee visited the Wasilla Assembly of God in 2005, delivering several guest sermons.[15] During one sermon, Muthee covered seven areas of society that he said Christians should control, including the economic area:

The Bible says that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. It is high time that we have top Christian businessmen, businesswomen, bankers, you know, who are men and women of integrity, running the economics of our nations. That’s what we are waiting for. That’s part and parcel of transformation. If you look at the Israelites, you know, that’s how they won. And that’s how they are, even today. When we will see that, you know, the talk transport us in the lands. We see, you know, the bankers. We see the people holding the paths. They are believers. We will not have the kind of corruption that we are hearing in our societies

Remember that prayer gathering Rick Perry had..? Is was based on this also…

Muthee is the pastor who “inspired” people in Kenyan villages to pursue “witches” and, if possible, put them to death. IMHO, he is a vile man, and if Palin is palling around with him, she’s just as vile. When I first read about these Muthee-inspired witch hunts, it reminded me of the Salem Witch Trials. All of these people should be persona non grata wherever they appear. No one should view them as examples of “good” Christians in action because of the hatred they preach against so many others.

I read where the number of hate groups has been on the rise (maybe i read it here)–anyway Palin, Beck, and Rush have done a fair bit to encourage the hate movement. What if Palin and McCain had gotten into office–he is all set to bomb any country that is causing problems–Sarah would have had a complete mental breakdown by now–good lord this country would have been in a mess. Can’t even imagine it.

This is really good article.. But this part is very disturbing .

Potok expects the rage to grow and the number of hate groups to continue to rise if President Obama is re-elected.

“I think it has the potential to get worse before it gets better,” Potok said. “As it becomes more likely that Obama will ultimately win, these groups are getting angrier and angrier. They’re looking at four years under a black guy who they hate.”

I think this is what is behind the unprecedented number of guns that the people in TX are buying. The article did say that these people seem to be motivated by a growing fear that PBO will be re-elected this November. I think it’s sad that Fox and others on the right have put such overwhelming fear into these people. The ones they should fear are their heroes and heroines who have no real compassion or concern for what they’re going through. I’m so glad that my parent never taught their kids to hate anyone. They most certainly could have because we grew up in a segregated America, but they didn’t. IMO, my parents were real examples of the way Christians are supposed to live.

It’s going to be Romney. But he will pick a Santorum-type running mate so we should still get the best of both worlds to run against.

Although it will be damn near impossible for Romney to pretend he’s moderate — not after this primary campaign. Also, we’re hearing that he wanted nothing to do with Democrats when he was Governor and pivoted to the right the minute after he was elected, when he claimed during the campaign that he was ‘to the left of Ted Kennedy.”

Let’s be clear: he is a soulless puppet who will do the bidding of the Koch brothers and Grover Norquist, without a nanosecond of conscience. He is as dangerous, if not more so, than Santorum/Bachmann/Paul/Gingrich combined.

Mrs Palin is so jealous of President Obama she tries every way possible to gain support in her implausible attacks on his race, his character, his intelligence and his charisma. All she generates is hate – mainly against herself . I cannot remember in my life time where a losing candidate for any election continued for so long in attacking her opponent in such an ignorant & self serving way.

The President is everything she is not – in both his political, academic, professional and personal life. He is completely oblivious to the existence of Mrs Palin which is probably what upsets the person that John McCain created more than anything else.

In 2008 I was concerned that John McCain had a chance – and then he inflicted this on the nation. It was no Game Change, it was Game Over.

What I noticed about Sarah Palin, first, was how she lied and spewed hatred with such relish. I detest a liar. I’m over 60 and I’ve known a few liars in my time. Sarah has no compunction about lying. I was amazed at how she lied without showing the usual body language of a liar who is not really used to lying – which said to me that she used to being a liar. She obviously loves the red and putrid meat she throws at those who eat it with such joy. I really don’t have the wherewithal to express the feelings Palin causes me to experience. I can’t recall another public person causing this much disgust in me. Not even GWB. I will never forgive McCain with his cowardly self for not saying NO to those who foisted this classless sociopath on the American public.

BTW, just because she may have had a one-night stand with a black guy doesn’t mean she doesn’t have racist tendencies. Racists can be “friends” with African Americans as long as those AA’s know their place.

I’m beginning to feel the same way about every politician, pundit, TV and radio pundit on the right. Everything that comes out of their mouths is a lie–a bald-faced lie, and as you noted, Sabreen, they do it without giving one hint that, on some level, it bothers them. I’m a Christian, and it causes me much grief to see the “Party of God” lying constantly. It has also caused me to question the sincerity of the far right fundamentalists, too. It seems that they either don’t care that they’re being lied to, or they think it’s okay to lie as long as they win. It’s shameful.

I read the article above that was about Game Change and Palin. I saw something about Palin’s son being a vandal in the comment. I did not know that that had been brought to the forefront. Right after Palin was chosen I researched her as I lived in Juneau for ten years and had many coworker teachers and neighbors still there. I called them besides looking up paper articles and internet artlicles. One of the uncollaborated stories I heard from different friends in phone calls had to do with her oldest son. He and a group of kids had vandalized school buses (paint cans and slashed tires and the like). He was given a choice of Juvie or joining the military according to my friends. Minors have sealed records so it was only what different people told me and not verified. When I lived in Juneau it was small enough with no roads in or out so everyone knew what was going on without reading the paper. When you did read the paper you could figure out who an anonymous person was even without seeing their name in print so I tend to believe my friends. If her son joined the military it was not this big selfless act as it was portrayed to be but a choice not to go to Juvie.

Yep, if we have to be subjected to this awful woman for the day then the campaign should reap the benefit with donations. I have inserted my fundraising page for anyone who would like to donate to the re-election of PBO. I rec’d this email from Messina today.

    Donna —

I don’t really want to spend any time on Sarah Palin, but you need to see what she said the other night on Sean Hannity’s show.

She accused President Obama of discrimination, saying he was taking the country back “to days before the Civil War, when unfortunately too many Americans mistakenly believed that not all men were created equal.” And she wasn’t kidding.

This is the nature of the attacks we’ll be up against from now until November. They’re false and divisive, and it won’t even matter whether they make sense or not, because they’re designed to serve one purpose: beating President Obama in this election.

What we know is we can’t afford to let attacks like this go without a response — help show that each time someone like Sarah Palin launches an attack, it only makes us stronger.

    Make your donation here:

Sorry to bring up Sarah Palin on what is otherwise a perfectly good Saturday.

We should let this be a reminder that we subscribe to a different kind of politics — and the only reason our model works is because of people like you.

Thanks for helping keep this campaign strong.

    Now, back to work.

Thanks Donna for the wonderful job you are doing! I just made a small donation to your fundraising page. I totally agree with you that the most effective way to answer the idiocy of people like Sarah Palin is to dig deep and support President Obama’s re-election. I routinely go out for Sunday brunch once a month. I did the same today; but my precious niece insisted on paying the entire bill because I helped with her with her income tax returns. So, the money I normally spend on my Sunday brunch indulgence I decided to donate to President Obama’s re-election via your fundraising page. I don’t like Palin at all but she’s a pathetic figure in some ways. She was just a small time politician doing fairly low level graft and inflence peddling in a small (population and influence) state. Then suddenly she was offered a shot at the Big Time. Being a narcissist she knew in her heart that she was chosen by merit. Then reality intrudes. She can’t think on her feet, her education is pathetic, her actual interest in foreign news is nonexistent. She begins to suspect that people are laughing at her — some in her own party.

Losing the election was a blow. But then she was getting attention from the tea party. She desperately wants to hold on to the fame and the $$$$$ without having to do anything like work.
Now she’s just flailing around yelling “Look at me! Look at me! I’m still important.”
I could almost feel sorry for her.

Here they’re having to tell Palin that the queen does not run the govt. in UK, that they have a prime minister. Now they’re trying to give her a crash basic history course.
