I’ll have to say, it’s been an awkward day with Brietboob kicking the bucket and Sheriff Arpoopoo making himself look like a fool with the birther nonsense.

    BRING ON THE PRESIDENT!!!!!

Not to mention ole Rush The-overstuffed-sack-O-shit calling a college student with an opinion a ‘slut’ and expounding all manner of vile rubbish. I’m opposed to violence in all forms, but I could grant a waiver in his case. Although to slap hell out of him someone would have to get near him and you KNOW HE SMELLS BAD. Rotten eggs and rancid lard, I’m thinkin’….

apparently, yesterday the delegates were split, but today, Santorum’s peeps are e-mailing The Ed show bawling about how Willard is rigging the election and now has all the delegates……… okay. Santorum says that Willard’s peeps are changing the rules now which allow him to get all the delegates. Poor Santorum. 😀

No joke. No hyperbole. Our President knows it.

The central message must be one that awakens each American to the reality that their vote on 6 Nov 2012 is just as important as every single bullet and cannon ball fired by Union soldiers between 1861-1865.

We are defending America from take-over by a small cult of ultra-wealthy slave masters and those they’ve indoctrinated.

Not able to wach right now, so I will follow you folks and your comments. Now that I can’t check in during the day anymore, I try to catch up at night, but uually can only go through the posts and not have a chance to review all the comments.
A lot happened today. I loved Pierce’s comments about how, of all the candidates, only one is able to really connect with people. The arrogant, aloof, egotistical, elitist, snobbish, professorial President Obama. everytime you see pictures of him in action, you see those GOP talking points blown out of the water.
Also, I think a lot of previous Presidents might well have cancelled the trip to NH with the weather as it was. I wonder if the SS tried to talk him out of it. And the pictures of the people listening to him, specially one young girl, talk about rapt.
I could go on and on, but a personal note to Chips and Anniebelle, thank for the nightmares you gave me last night.

    • March 1, 2012 at 9:15 pm

I was looking at the NH pics during lunch and was thinking the exact same thing. Great guy he is and I thank those people for coming to see him in that snow.

I got a nice note from “Nancy Smash” today. She’s on the case – fighting the good fight. I so love her!! Who’s with me?!!

    ——————–

Thanks to your generous support and efforts, we raised over $1,114,000 for our women’s health rapid response fund and we’re only 18,000 signatures away from 500,000 supporters strong on our petition against Republicans’ disgraceful assault on women’s rights. But, the fight goes on.

Today — the very day we kick off Women’s History Month — Republicans held a vote on giving corporations the power to deny women access to basic health care.

Meanwhile, vicious and inappropriate attacks are being leveled at Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student that Republicans refused to let testify at an all-male panel on birth control coverage.

Join our call to Republican leaders in the House to condemn these vicious attacks on women.

Add your name: 500,000 Strong Against the Republican War on Women >>

We couldn’t be more grateful for all that you do to help us in our fight. Your actions today make sure that our voices will never be silenced.

Join the fight and sign our petition today: http://dccc.org/End-the-War-on-Women

Thank you for standing with us.

Yeah, I’ve been passing that around to everyone I know, as well as on twitter, with a note about the imperative of voting. It’s what they’re pushing for IN THE 21ST CENTURY! no less. Makes me shudder

Next up witch trials: tie a rock around your neck and throw you in the water. If you sink then maybe you didn’t get contraceptives with employer’s insurance and if you float, your guilty so it’s to the pyre with you.

And as an added measure, the word faggot (used as derogatory term for gay men) was used for the suspected gay men they put at the foot of the pyre, to help it burn hotter!

That is the future Sanitorium wants for us.

The BEST now, and of our full history, maybe (and probably in the future). I can never get enough of his … er … leadership.

    • March 1, 2012 at 9:31 pm

Donna, I am not sure I agree with you. Yes, I know that by definition he is a politican, but I think that is by name only. I don’t think he has a politician’s soul, in that a true politiican does everything from a very calculated cold, analytcal point of view. With PBO, what you see is just who he is. He never tries to be anything else. It doesn’t really matter who he is talking to (from a campaigning point of view, not from a governing one) he is always the same.
Bush was a politician. Clinton was a great politician. Even Kennedy was a great politician. The only two presidents other than PBO that may not have really been politicians in the sense I am talking about where Carter and Truman. But even they couldn’t match PBO for total and complete genuineness. I guess what I am trying to say is, what you see is what you get and people understand that and respond to that.

He’s a community organizer who found that he may be able to accomplish more with the power of the presidency behind him.

Paraphrasing something I heard FLOTUS say in an interview. It clicked with how I see him.

      • March 1, 2012 at 10:08 pm

I agree he’s more of a statesman than a politician, but he’s also a political genius. It takes that level of mastery of the political process combined with all around brilliance, incandescent charisma, bottomless energy and laser-like focus to achieve what our president has in so short of a time.

        • 189 susanne
          March 1, 2012 at 11:11 pm

exactly–he’s a superb politician, but that’s not even his main talent or occupation. it’s just one of the tools in his kit, and he has a lot of ’em!!

I totally agree with all comments that he’s not a politician’s politician. And I also love his quiet speeches (like the five minute clip above) even more than the fire-breathing, roof-raising speeches. The quiet ones just seem so much more personal and heartfelt.

    Begin rant:

The red states are enacting sweeping and literally intrusive laws against women. The onslaught on womens health and reproductive right is outrageous. But the duplicity of the GOP is just breathtaking. Right now we are witnessing the most extreme case of projection that I have seen in a long time.

The Republican Party is constantly railing against big government. They say government is too intrusive. And while they are saying that, they want government to prevent abortions and decide which procedures should be used to humiliate women. Governor Bob “Vaginal Probe” McDonnell can kiss his VP aspirations goodbye because of this overreach. He will be forever linked with the outrageous vaginal probe ultrasound legislation.

The war on religion nonsense is just “look at that shiny object” because they don’t want the American people to focus on what they are really doing. And that’s where the feckless media comes into play. The mainstream media is so inept it’s embarrassing. They just can’t seem to bring themselves to ask the legitimate questions that shine a light on the duplicity of the GOP. End rant.

Felicitations on the community you have built here with sweat, and pictures, and humour, and the warmth of your spirit (+ naughty mats and cold showers 🙄 🙄 ). Never said this before, but ONE of the things that drew me back to this family, after my first visit, was the way you personally opened the door wide and said ‘Welcome’. THANK YOU for YOUR vision of this place, and for putting it into play so effectively and with such dedication.
