Greg Sargent: In a speech to the United Auto Workers just now, Obama defended his decision to bail out the auto industry, lacing into Mitt Romney with withering derision. But this speech was about more than the auto-bailout. It was Obama’s case for reelection.
This speech constituted Obama’s most ambitious effort yet to weave his defense of the auto rescue into the larger contrast he will try to draw between his vision and the “you’re on your own” ideology he will accuse Republicans of representing.
…. today’s speech was important: It revealed that the alternate reality Romney has been functioning in throughout the GOP primary is soon going to give way to another reality entirely, a general election reality — and Romney, presuming he will be the nominee, will soon collide with it.

Michael Tomasky: Ideological rigidity and Obama hatred led Republicans to reject the auto bailout. Now they’re doubling down on their opposition – and surrendering Michigan in the general election.
Michiganders, take pride: your 2012 primary will go down in American political history as perhaps the single most eye-popping case ever of a party’s demands on its candidates during the primary fight reducing its chance of winning the state in November from something not far from half to near zero. This is especially true if Rick Santorum manages to pull the upset and go on to be the nominee; Barack Obama’s campaign wouldn’t have to spend one thin dime in Michigan and would still win by at least 15 points. But it’s true also if unfavorite son Mitt Romney manages to win. Horse-race polls that once showed a tough battle between the two now project an Obama blowout.

INDEED…WHAT A BEAUTIFULLY WONDERFUL DAY THAT WAS! I BOUGHT STOCK IN KLEENEX!
Hahahaha. He sure is a trip but I love the way he supports PBO and attends multiple fundraisers to donate money to the Obama Victory Fund.
Chipsticks – I just heard the entire UAW speech, and now you’ve given me Jamie Foxx…how am I suppose to calm down???!!!!!!
I watched the entire thing and was left with my mouth open. I mean, how many speeches have we all heard from our President. THIS ONE?? I’ve never seen him that combative and in-the-face of opposition. The only thing that was missing was him throwing up his hands at the end and saying, ‘WHAT?’ ‘WHAT?!”
POTUS knows how to tailor his words and body language to reach his targeted audience.
yeah, you’re right and he was absolutely feeding off the energy in the room which was electric. I’m so proud of him!
And thumping the podium!
That was so beau-ti-FUL~ Mahalos, Chipsticks!

Why the GOP wants IPAB to be DOA
By Steve Benen – Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:15 PM EST.
Ask congressional Republicans what they want to see happen to Medicare, and they’ll probably talk about reducing costs and restraining spending. It’s why the GOP’s attacks on the Independent Payment Advisory Board are so misguided — IPAB gives what Republicans what they say they want.
I can understand why the underlying idea is contentious, but the facts are pretty straightforward. As Paul Krugman explained a while back, “Arguably the most important thing we can do to limit the growth in health care costs is learning to say no; we cannot afford a system in which Medicare in particular will pay for anything, especially when that’s combined with an industry structure that gives providers a strong financial incentive to engage in excessive care.”

Good afternoon TODville family
Former Oklahoma senator endorses third-party White House bid
~snippets~
Former Sen. David Boren (D-Okla.) said Tuesday that he would lend his efforts to the third-party Americans Elect organization, a group dedicated to building an infrastructure for an outside White House challenge in the 2012 election.
Boren backed President Obama in the 2008 election, and said he might do so again — despite his support for the group.
The group has millions from supporters backing its efforts, but two of its leading “nominees” as of earlier this month were late night comedian Stephen Colbert and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, who signaled that he isn’t interested in a third-party run. That’s cast doubt on how effective the group’s campaign will actually be.
Other leading candidates include Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Jon Huntsman, who dropped out of the GOP race earlier this year after a poor showing in New Hampshire. Huntsman suggested last week that a third party would be a good development in American politics, although he said he wasn’t interested in running as an outside candidate.

Stephen Colbert ???? Most of young audience thinks he is a republican. You just can’t fix stupid. 😆
Yes, I’m fired up.
Nobody but Obama/Biden 2012
I’m sure the world was waiting with baited breath to hear David Boren’s opinion. Once an ass….
Always a moronic ass.
BREAKING: Dow Jones Closes Above 13,000 For The First Time Since May 2008
Moments ago, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed over 13,000 for the first time since May 19, 2008. The stock market is now up over 56 percent since Obama took office.

YAYAAYAYAYAYAYAAYAYYAYAYYAYAYYAYAYAYA!!!!! where’s Wall Street’s gratitude to PBO?
Those greedy SOB’s have no gratitude to PBO because he won’t let them continue to steal, cheat, and F-up the economy.
that job-killing, socialist, wealth-stealing……
Oh wait………..
LH, nothing makes your day like seeing your retirement fund get new life. Maybe some of the confidence people feel comes from knowing they’re gaining back the security they lost with the market decline in in 2008. Those Wall Street guys who keep shoving money at Romney might consider who’s actually been making their lives better lately because it sure isn’t Willard. Has anyone heard what the turnout is like in Michigan?
People have been posting that the turnout has been quite low. Which is excellent news for John McCain! (Maybe he’ll be their parachuted white knight so that he can have another crack at “that one”.)
I love you take, LL. That makes me smile. “That One”. “That One” again made McCain tremble in his booths today. I am sure it brought back some memories for Sister SP and John McCain to see POB is his fighting and brilliant fired up speech today.HZ
I use to hang out with those guys from Montford Point. They had a veterans club in Chicago and welcomed an old Swabbie like me into the circle. Good times.
Ah, brilliant Yardarm!
Yes it was Admiral Chips. Believe it or not, some Redtails use to come hoist one with these guys too.
My sea brother, I was at that club in Chicago, once, in July 1994. They treated us active duty types like royalty; we on the other hand felt blessed and humbled to be in their presence.
You were in the neighborhood where I grew up too. Who knows, we might have hoisted one together…..Drop and gimme 20 jarhead. 😀
Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) could be in a serious fight in the upcoming recall election, according to the new survey from Public Policy Polling (D), with Walker in some tight races against his potential Democratic opponents.
Walker starts out in trouble on a key number: His approval rating is 47%, to disapproval of 52%.
Recalls in Wisconsin do not feature any direct up-or-down vote on the incumbent, but instead effectively take the form of a special election with the incumbent and a challenger fighting it out to serve the rest of the term.
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/02/poll-shows-scott-walker-in-trouble-against-dems-in-recall.php?m=1
But Koch Brothers…
why aren’t his approval numbers worse?! WTF is wrong with WI?! Seriously? I call bullsh**!!!
My sentiments exactly.
The Dems have got to pull out all the stops on this one. Walker will be beyond arrogant if he wins and all those heroic efforts to get the million signatures will be in vain.
They need a fabulous candidate for the Democratic Party..do they have one?
UAW Speech was awesome. Sounds like President Obama has had enough of those crazy Republicans and is ready to break out that can of Whip-azz!
Just finished watching the speech. AWESOMESAUCE!!!!!!!!! It was fantabulous. I’m telling you, I love when PBO sticks his foot up repug ass. His size ##s really know how to give a good stretch.
Lisa, he’s really fed up with the dolts and calling them out. We’ve seen months and months of rancid red meat thrown at the Republican “base.” Well Dems need to start rising to their feet and warming up their hands because red meat is coming their way and, like common sense truth, it isn’t tainted. I remember hearing some Republicans say a few months ago, that PBO was going to get worn down by their tactics and wouldn’t even want to run again. Well, they’d better move out of the way because he’s revved up, full of energy and ready to roll them down.
How the hell such a man comes up with such a daughter?
Mika does make a point to say she doesn’t agree with the Republicans when they come on the show but you have to catch it really fast because she doesn’t admit it often.
MIka is just a prop for loud mouth Joe. She’s a joke.
A very good question blackwaterdog.
Can someone explain to me how this will solve the Eurozone’s crisis?
I remember some sad soul on GOS, right after the 2010 elections, urging his readers to find ways to emigrate to Europe, as they were the future. I wonder what he thinks now, or if he can still maintain his cognitive dissonance.
Story here: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/28/us-greece-idUSTRE81R1KR20120228
It supposedly helps in the short term, would nit have happened if Germany did nit hold the second bailout hostage
This austerity in Europe, is Guilt for decades of Socialism!
Europe will get sick of this fast…
LL, maybe Europe’s problems can be traced to those poor deluded souls who followed KOS’s advice. Like the character in Lil Abner they bring trouble wherever the go.
Loved your TPV post. Most of the early immigrants in my family were also tailors and seamstresses. It was an “accepting” profession for those with skill and a great work ethic.
Krugman had a post about this on yesterday. He says that it is related to the euro and the fact that it was adopted without having any institutions to make it work is the major problem. IOWs, according to Krugman, it’s monetary policy.
“So what does ail Europe? The truth is that the story is mostly monetary. By introducing a single currency without the institutions needed to make that currency work, Europe effectively reinvented the defects of the gold standard — defects that played a major role in causing and perpetuating the Great Depression. …
If the peripheral nations still had their own currencies, they could and would use devaluation to quickly restore competitiveness. But they don’t, which means that they are in for a long period of mass unemployment and slow, grinding deflation. Their debt crises are mainly a byproduct of this sad prospect, because depressed economies lead to budget deficits and deflation magnifies the burden of debt.”
http://economistsview.typepad.com/economistsview/2012/02/paul-krugman-what-ails-europe.html
A euro = @1.346259 dollars. The people in Greece are in for some very difficult times, especially the young people in light of the fact that the minimum monthly wage is 751 euros. I’m expecting more riots with the implementation of this policy.
I read that. It was a great article. And when the euro was introduced, I had a bad feeling: a common currency with no other common institutions was doomed from the outset. I don’t think it’s a question of “if” the euro will implode, but of “when”.
FIRED UP…!!
READY TO GO..!!! 😀

Heads Up …the Prez will have an interview with Bob Woodruff (ABC) tomorrow regarding the Ball hosted by the Prez and Flotus for Veterans of the Iraq war.
Holy Smokes…Olympia Snowe not running for re-elect. THE SENATE IS OURS!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know if there are strong Maine Democrats to run for her seat. To win this, we’ll need a great candidate.
I sincerely hope Democrats begin casting their net far and wide and find a strong candidate because if we keep NE with Bob Kerrey and win ME. It’ll be that much closer in keeping a majority in the Senate.
Sen. Snowe sees the craziness of her party, and maybe she is tied of it. So long.
And she still gets a fat retirement check for nothing.
She wasted the end of her career genuflecting to the worst in her party. ADIOS.
Well, well, well. Now it seems as if Santorum has realized he went too far in demonizing JFK. He says he now says: ‘I wish I had back’ that JFK ‘throw up’ line.” Too late, buddy. It’s been memorialized for posterity.
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheRawStory/~3/VT7QO2buZxw/
It isn’t just the obscene comment about JFK, nor about the fact that Santorum proved he can’t read or understand the English language, it’s the fact that he doesn’t think before he speaks. He’s already created an international incident with his stupid remarks about the Netherlands health care system and heaven only knows how many US allies he’ll manage to offend before his campaign is over. The idea that this man– who can’t control his mouth, his temper or his judgment– could come anywhere the White House scares me silly. You can just picture him ordering a nuclear attack and then hitting his forehead and saying, ‘Oops, I shouldn’t have done that.” Keep talking Ricky. Stick your big foot farther and farther down your throat so that everyone in the world knows what a ginormous fool you are.
I see all of the GOP candidates as suffering from the same disease, Jackie. Not one of them knows jack squat about economics, foreign policy, history, or anything else, but each of them thinks he can “take on” PBO. They don’t know who they’re wanting to mess with. PBO has a mind like a steel trap, is an avid reader and student of history/foreign policy/economics, has great critical thinking skills, thinks before he speaks, and is a great communicator. None of the GOP candidates possess this skill set. Their problem is that they, and their supporters, think that the only requirement necessary to defeat PBO is to be a belligerent bully. Yeah, right. They don’t realize that what may work among the GOP base may not work when used in the GE.
It’s to late for alot of things that crazy radical phony Santorum has said.
hmmm–i think it’s a tactic. he gets to both say it, and rev up his nutcake followers, and then also repudiate it, and presumably impress his less insane followers with his reasonableness. too bad, rant sorum–you just infuriated everybody that was paying attention.
Snowe Statement On Decision Not To Run For Re-Election
STATEMENT OF SENATOR OLYMPIA J. SNOWE ON
RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN FOR UNITED STATES SENATE
WASHINGTON, D.C – Three-term Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) issued the following statement today with regard to her re-election campaign:
“After an extraordinary amount of reflection and consideration, I am announcing today that I will not be a candidate for re-election to the United States Senate.
“After 33 years in the Congress this was not an easy decision. My husband and I are in good health. We have laid an exceptionally strong foundation for the campaign, and I have no doubt I would have won re-election. It has been an indescribable honor and immeasurable privilege to serve the people of Maine, first in both houses of Maine’s legislature and later in both houses of Congress. To this day, I remain deeply passionate about public service, and I cherish the opportunity I have been given for nearly four decades to help improve the lives of my fellow Mainers.
“As I have long said, what motivates me is producing results for those who have entrusted me to be their voice and their champion, and I am filled with that same sense of responsibility today as I was on my first day in the Maine House of Representatives. I do find it frustrating, however, that an atmosphere of polarization and ‘my way or the highway’ ideologies has become pervasive in campaigns and in our governing institutions.
“With my Spartan ancestry I am a fighter at heart; and I am well prepared for the electoral battle, so that is not the issue. However, what I have had to consider is how productive an additional term would be. Unfortunately, I do not realistically expect the partisanship of recent years in the Senate to change over the short term. So at this stage of my tenure in public service, I have concluded that I am not prepared to commit myself to an additional six years in the Senate, which is what a fourth term would entail…

March 15, 2012 is the Maine filing deadline

Who’ve we got?
She’s auditioning for Americans Elect. From her statement:
Of course, she may have resigned to give the Dems a clear shot at the seat, since she never had the courage to leave the GOP. But that’s just my Macciavellian side speaking.
Interesting yeh, but who’ve we got to run for that Senate seat? They’ve only got two weeks to get rolling! We NEEEEED that seat!
possibly there have been some talks behind the scenes, and the dems had a heads up. i’m guessing this is a segue, not a disruption.
Again, I have a very suspicious mind when it comes to politics, and this came out of left field. Sen. Snowe never had the courage of her “moderate” convictions, but maybe she found that not seeking re-election was the way she could turn her seat blue.
IMHO, Snowe just got tired of the obstructionist, do nothing republicans in her caucus but is too much of a coward to say it, so she slinks off into the sunset with this dissembling statement. I know BullStank when I see it, and this statement reeks of it. Snowe, instead of duking it out with McConnell, Kyle, McCain and the other wingnuts, decided to bow out while giving the impression that both parties in the Senate are to blame for the extreme partisanship when she knows nothing is further from the truth.
She’s retiring to get a nice paid gig on cable TV bashing PBO for his entire his second term!
Since today has been an up type day, I thought I’d add the following in case no one has seen it:

The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends — if they’re okay, then it’s you.
LMAO….
🙂 Thanks yardarm. That was cute!
You’re welcome!
Hahahahahahahaha. Thank you for this Yardarm. I so needed a full throated belly chuckle today. As I read the list, I realized I’ve done/still doing some of the sentiments expressed in the list. Oh life! 😆
The real deal is a mofo. Ain’t it? 🙂
Thanks yardarm for the chuckles and …..I forgot what else 🙂
No you didn’t. You ju’ foolin’ with me. 😀
hahahahahahaha….
my yardarm you are too funny…
this one is my favorite…
~Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?~
Just asking. That’s all. 😉
So funny and much of it true. Oh, the things that make you go “ummm.”
Yardarm756, thanks. You are great. We will need this in the coming months when we get to the boiling points in the election. However, it is good to refresh the spirits in the space that we all are holding now. Thanks again, my dear friend.HZ
It was an honor if it brought a smile. 🙂
If I believed in polyandry I would ask you to marry me. This made my day, especially your last & favorite since I’ve always been sure it’s me!
I’m gonna fetch the ring next week. 🙂
What an awesome post. My personal favorite: “The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends — if they’re okay, then it’s you.” 😆
Hey everyone! i know this is a few years old but i think its relevant right now with all the crackhead God talk and religous wack jobs like Santorum and the GOP … long live Louis C.K.!!!
Now lets all go out and masterbate for fun!! lol
I realize its from his FX tv show but its still damn funny…
hahahaha…. all the letters going backwards.
TOTALLY OUT OF THE BOX…. 😆 😆
Are you guys watching Rev. Al? I missed Tweety, so am not sure what that was about, I may take a quick glance at 7 🙂
Tweety was all over Willard like insects on grain. His lead was mitt v. Willard ( or something like that). He, Coward and someone else laughed their asses off at Willard and his blunders. The next segment I skipped because it had Dickkk the Hack. Then the third one was about PBO’s “barnburner speech.” Then a segment on women flocking to PBO and the ‘Let Me Finish’ he said that Willard was a bad politician who says anything for a vote……. Methinks Old Birdie don’t likey likey Willard. 😦
ps- the 7pm showing will be live I think.
Did you see that woman from the Susan B. Anthony Foundation.? She couldn’t even convince herself of what she was saying.
I didn’t even bother listening to her. I thought I heard her say something stupid but I didn’t bother to look. I was listening to Randi at the same time.
Don’t waste your time. It’s warmed over grits.
Warmed-over grits? That I will skip :-). Thankfully Lisa covered it for me 🙂
That was a wonderful speech! I’m so proud that Barack Obama is the President. Today is primary day in Michigan. I voted by absentee ballot for President Obama and I felt so good putting the ballot in the mail!
Any Questions Republicans ?
Wow, now let’s imagine the shrieks that will be heard if Michelle Obama said this:
Ann Romney: Media Doesn’t “Want Anyone Who Has A Chance” Against Bam
I won’t click the link. The only ASSHOLE i know who uses “Bam” is that ratfucker Dickkk the Hack. fucker…. 😡 ……. either way, if lil old Ann can’t take the heat, she should stay the fuck outta the kitchen. She can kiss my ass. Heifer. I know we shouldn’t go after the wives but that bitch really gets my back up. Old cow.
Lisa – I’m not sure if I can detect how you really feel about her 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Tell it!!!
#PRESSON
😳 ——– sometimes I just can’t help myself, Bob. It’s all that ” librul college indoctrination.” 😉
😀 😀 😀 😀
Lisa, thanks. I yell even when I see (Miss) Ann. Plain and simple.HZ
lamh35, I guess only FOX will be on Ann’s bus.
lisalove slow yo’ roll honey chil’. You gonna bust a vessel over some b.s. Save some for the real fight. Huh? 😀
🙂
I hate when people refer to him as “Bam.” Like, what the fuck is Bam?
collegekay, that question cross my mind, what is bam? This is my first time hearing this bam crap.
Collegekay, Anniebella
“Bam” is what Pres Obama is gonna do to the Republican Party in their ugly faces when it is time.
And Pres Obama will not take any prisoners. He’s gonna do to them like a OBL Raid.
Anniebella, it is plain ole “Miss Ann disrespect, big time. She could have just said POB and stop there. I have heard down from watching her, and it is not nice.HZ
I love Bam. I’ve only seen it used in a nice way when its a casual article about something cool he did or when he’s being fiery. Its not meant in a disrespectful way like “Barry”.
Gotcha. I can’t help but be cynical when I see something other than Barack, PBO, or Obama.
I hear ya.
And this is why I want Mitt to win in the end. He and his people, including that dumb bird he’s married to, are so damn entitled and sooooo convinced that he can take down the President. I want him to win so I can watch POTUS beat him like he stole something!
If her Mittens has such a chance of defeating The President then why did Ann tell him to shut his mouth stop debating and watch her in action? Somebody is feeling the pressure and she doesn’t like it.
Damn, that speech was FIERCE!
Helllloooo TODdies!!!! I got back in time to hear PBO’s speech to the UAW. What a treat, what a barn burner of a get down with it. Is it time for the general yet?
I’m laughing watching this repug failing against Rev. Al.
Did you notice that his necktie was getting looser and that face was blotching up. I thought that he was going to stroke out!
Republicans are SCARED! John Feenery is terrified! I can see it in his face and here it in his rhetoric…..Watching Rev Al…and OMG! It is SO APPARENT that they are running scared. Anyone see that??
He stumbled over his words, a sure sign that he is afraid because as we all know, no one lies better than a Republican and he struggled.
He sounded like a snake oil salesman. Talking over people and talking fast and saying nothing of substance. Purely emotional b.s.
Go Rev Go!
Df you are so right, John Feehery was freaking out!
I’ve seen him all over MSNBC for a while now and I’ve never seen this guy that unhinged.
Running scared they are.
And let me take this opportunity to say, I am a big Richard Wolfe fan.
Obama/Biden 2012
Good…I saw that too…he was stuttering .
Guys! He was a MESS! The look on his face, the fumbling speechifying….the physical LOOK on his face! It was as if he was trying to convince HIMSELF of all the bullshit he was trying to spin! He looked absolutely terrified…and I could not be happier 🙂 I laughed through the entire thing. Was a sight to behold.
The look on his face..seems like he is always smelling something stinky.
i told you, it’s his breath.
Remember that the upper lip is closest to the nose. 🙂
That John guy looked like he was going to pop a vein or something. He was very loud, trying to talk over Rev. Al and the other guy. Methinks the GOP if not in panic mood now, will be pretty soon.
loved how Richard talked to him like he was talking to a hyperactive kid. Really too the air right outta John’s sails! hahahahahahahaha
Hello TOD Family,
I am sitting in my hotel room in Minnesota listening to the video our wonderful Chips has of PBO giving the speech at UAW…talk about being on F I R E! The GOP better look out when our president STARTS campaigning…he’s just warming up…FIRED UP READY TO #PRESSON!
Jphn Feehury on rev Al looking like an ass. It’s like watching a balloon loosing hot air. He looks so dumb. He couldn’t challenge Rev Al and Richard Wolffe on Willard’s lack of real viability so he went back to GOP talking points that PBO was attacking the Catholic Church. We they brought up the Nuns and other Catholics who were appreciative of PBO’s compromise, That Ass said: ” well not in my parish!” Richard talked to him like an adult talking to a child and it took the air right out of Feehury’s sails. Idjit! 🙄
Exactly! I think these guys should have rectal probes as a matter of course. Every month.
Oh…at LEAST 10 inches worth. Every month. The Big 10 Inch. Wonder if they’d be singing a different song?
I dunno df. Some of them poog’s might like it. Hmmmmm!
True.
Lisa, John was not going to get over on Rev. Al and Richard Woffle today or anyday. You are so right, John could not get his words out to mean anything up against what Rev. Al and Richard were saying. Rev. Al and Richard did not allow John to get away with his lies. It was great.HZ
this is OT, but this just tickled me so I gotta post it:
Rush Slams Romney For ‘Hair On Fire’ Line About Base
Rush is mad because Romney told the truth.
Flush Limppaugh is a manatee with a microphone.
LOL!
I see Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe will not seek re-election. Do we have someone there? Also see that the NFL will open their season one day early so as not to conflict with Obama’s Dem. Natl. Convention speech. I would hope so.

All right TOD family! One hour to the closing of the polls here in Michigan. Just for the record, even though it’s an open primary (dems can vote for repubs), we opted to stay out of it. My husband was like, ‘well, this is between them and their crazy town thugs and idiots.’ I think I’ll pick up a good bottle of Moscato instead. 🙂
Hello TOD Family. I have some catching up to do. I had surgery today on my sinuses so am a little out of it right now. Just wanted to say that I am so very proud of our President, and I appreciate all of you here so very much. Chips, I love you dearly. Back soon.
Feel better, Jackie 🙂
Thanks DF. Any news on what kind of turnout we had in Arinona today yet?
Not to my knowledge. Think it’s too early to guess…though I have heard that Romney looks like a lock up here. People have early voted already. I did have one guy drive up to my school and ask if there was voting going on there today…nope! He wondered why and WHERE is polling station was….I said he needed to go check online, that the polls were probably open until 6 or 7 tonight.
One thing that AZ does that I hate, is they never seem to have the same polling places. I’ve lived here 11 years, and have voted in at least 4 or 5 different places. Now I just vote by mail. I’m done wondering where the heck I’m supposed to go!
Jackie, get some sweet rest and take good care of yourself. ((((((((((((Hugs coming your way)))))))))))))))HZ
Obama campaign manager Jim Messina: “Best part of yesterday was having my parents call to say ‘we are so proud of you’-for getting called a Punk [b]y Rush Limbaugh.”
Why did he call Messina a punk? What did he do?
Messina sent out that e-mail about the Koch Brothers….teehee
I’m so sad I had to miss our President’s wonderful speech! Thanks to Chips, I can watch the speech this evening after Romney get’s his arse whipped.
Politico has the stupidest article ever-
Will the 1 million from Bill Maher hurt Obama?
Wwwwwwwhhhhhhhaaaaaatttt?
Is Politico run by idiots?
Politico on Nov 1 2012: Will Obama’s re-election hurt him?
lol hopefruit.. well done.
Perfect.
Hopefruit2, I absolutely, completely and totally, love your wit!
And MSN thought it was so brilliant that they put it on their front page.. could not believe what I was reading.
ohmygawd! I laughed so hard just as I took a sip of my wine, i spilt some. Thankfully away from my key board. Those people are nutz.
I’ve said it again and again…
The one thing that would help the President’s adversaries the most is to realize how incredibly formidable your chosen opponent actually is.
Republicans Sought Algae Research Grants From Obama, Now They’re Attacking Him For It
By mocking the president, conservatives ignore a history of party leaders and their industry allies endorsing algae research.
Republicans from Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) to Sen. Mike Johanns (R-NE) have requested Department of Energy grants for algae research. All three lawmakers wrote that algae investments would reduce America’s oil use. For instance, Johanns wrote that an algae biotechnology center “would develop technology to decrease our dependence on imported oil.”
Republican allies in the oil industry have also invested in algae, including No. 1 oil lobbyist ConocoPhillips and ExonMobil, which sunk $600 million in algae biofuel research.
On energy, the administration is doing far more than budgeting for biofuel research. The White House’s FY 2013 budget provides billions for R&D and manufacturing in clean energy technologies, while higher fuel economy standards will reduce U.S. oil consumption by more than 2 million barrels per day. Meanwhile, under Obama, domestic production of oil has reached record levels of quadruple the drilling rigs over the past three years.
With algae, you could just grow effectively unlimited masses of it (oweing to exponential growth rates, and recyclable by-products) and rot it all down in biodigesters, creating methane (what we call the final, primary product of natural-gas extraction). Compressed natural gas can run in gasoline-powered vehicles with minimal modification.

Personally, I think studying a wide variety of technologies is wise, as we’re apt to adopt different innovations for different problems, and even go through a number of generations of tech as better and better options become available.
I found my thrill.
On Blueberry PAC Hill.
LOL
Am I the only one really looking forward to Michigan’s results? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? 😆
I can hardly wait!! Are you kidding 🙂 ?
Oh…we’re counting down the minutes here in Ann Arbor. We opted not to cross over and participate. Let’s see what counties like Oakland, Wayne did.
Count me in!
ummm–i think the dog ate it. sir.

Watch…
I saw that on the BBC last night. What’s next? John Galt saying that altruism is the way to go??
LOL!!!!
Sure. Then Ayn Rand will awaken from the grave and become a champion for unions, fairness, and equality while denouncing capitalism.
Michael has a great head of hair, doesn’t he? I don’t like to think it might not be real.
This is rich! Bamboozling them all the way!

So under Gingrich, we’d be Italy. OK then.
Wonderful ! Oh, wait…
Wow, just wow. Ain’t this some shit! Please read the letter…ur head will spin…
Alum Tells Smith College to Quit Admitting Poors
lamh – the only thing that makes that awful letter by Ms Spurzem readable is the first comment at the end of it.. written by ‘klondike’- trust me she/he knocks it outta the park.
This ain’t real nice but Anne Spurzem can kmba and spread the cheeks so she can get to the pink parts. Maybe it would make her feel more comfortable. 😦
They are not even hiding it anymore.
3rd grade politics!
Oh boy. They both need a timeout.
And hilarity ensues! I might even turn on MSNBC tonight.
Santorum’s face instantly makes me angry.
I agree with you Collegekay. I detest him. One day a lady called into Randi’s show and referred to him as a “big tall rodent”. 🙂
He and Glenn Beck have the same kind of face; they just encourage dislike.
collegekay, his face actually nauseates me, and it’s because of that “man on dog” remark he made a couple of years ago. His mind appears to be a cesspit.
Hmmm,
I’m betting daddy had something to do with this.
Franklin Graham apologizes for questioning Obama’s faith
“Reverend” Graham can stuff his apology in his Santorum.
OMG! Call the ambulance!
OMG!!!! So tweeting that.
Please do!
I agree with LL. STUFF IT! They all spew the poison constantly and then think they can just say “sorry” and make things all better. Screw him!
They go all over tv talking that crazy talk and then they try to walk it back. Well,I would prefer that he take his ass(sorry) back on morning joke to make that apology. I want clips all over cable news showing a REAL apology!
Turn on all the lights and call the law!
Not buying the Graham apology. He should have learn his lesson when he made these same comments before. But he didn’t. No respect for Graham, not any more.
Santorum 48%, Romney 34% with 1% reporting
This speech was great! I love my president! 🙂
Pres. Obama’s UAW speech was FIYAH!!!! And just think a minute, he’s just warming up!!
Now, as for Michigan, — please, please, please, please, PLEASE!!!!! let Lil Ricky Santorum win Michigan. PLEASE, OH PLEASE, OH PLEASE!!!!
In case no one’s been to his blog lately, the ever lovely Eclectablog is going to be on Democracy Now tomorrow.
I don’t think he’d like to be thought of as “lovely” 🙂 Just sayin’
What’s the delegate count awarded for Mich and Ariz? I think this whole thing is hyped for ratings. Michigan isn’t even in play for the general thanks to the repub numnuts. Momney already has 84 delegates, St.Torum only has 14. The Grinch has 29, so no matter how Mi turns out, Mitty still has more delegates by a long shot.
Ricky’s quickly losing ground to Mittens in the results.
MSNBC has it 40-38% in favor of the Saint, with 7% of the precincts in. Oh, and there are 30 delegates awarded proportionately. That means, no matter what, Mutt, comes away quite a bit ahead in delegate count
Essentially tied at 40%-39% with 7% reporting
factoid gleaned from reading article in jan 23 issue of new yorker (which just arrived here in hawaii), article titled ‘the good wife’: callista’s middle name is louise, so the family, and her doughy husband, call her ‘cally lou’. can you imagine looking at that woman and saying, ‘hey, cally lou’ ?
No. Hell No!

Check this out – even if Santorum is leading, MSNBC.com has Romney’s numbers bold and in red.
