Please help the Syrians by organizing the easier thing to show support possible – a protest AGAINST Russia ans China for blocking global action at the UN.

Can you be the voice of change and organize people in any way you can to put pressure on Russia and China to stop providing a political and diplomatic cover for brutual mass slaughter of Syrians.

When the part of this history of written, can we say what we ordinary people did to help the beseiged people of Syria? We have a unique opportunity to make a small difference but the question is : are we ready to seize the moment???????

I saw that in a comment in NYT, I have posting it every where. I just love that. I always say to my husband why are all Republicans stupid and he says they are not, so this is just perfect for the way I feel about Republicans. They are either rich with no conscience or poor and lower middle class with no brains.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I hate you Maryland! You have the smart, brilliant, charismatic, generous, compassionate, kind Governor Martin O’Malley with a rapier wit. He was just on Face The Nation and he killed it! Please, Please, Please I hope PBO and his team are grooming him for 2012. He’s bloody AMAZING! He speaks softly but then he knocks you like Ali. It’s fucking nuts. It’s a thing of beauty to watch. Democrats need to take a leaf out of his play book. He takes NO prisoners.

First he skewers Bob McDonnell during Politico’s State Conference. Must Watch: http://www.politico.com/largevideobox.html?id=1470764011001 Then he appears on Face The Nation after the neanderthal Chris Christie and shoves all of Bob Schieffer’s GOP talking points and ass kissing of Christie down his throat. He talks about PBO saving Detroit and how that in effect saved Maryland, NJ, VA etc because they also depend on the auto industry’s success. He talks about Gingrich’s delusions that he can guarantee $2.50 gas for all Americans and mocks him for his fantasies. He mops the floor with Santorum and his outlandish statements. Then to wrap it up in a sweet bow, he takes on Christie who was whining about PBO and Jerry Brown and comparing CA’s economy to the U.S. economy under PBO and deeming PBO a failure. Gov. O’Malley said, under Christie, NJ got downgraded yet he whines about CA which didn’t. Schieffer was so stunned. His expression was priceless and the show ended on that note.

The thing that blows my mind is that he skewers the crap out of the GOP while smiling and speaking softly. Just blows my damn mind! WOW.

      Love my gov!!!

It would be my dream if O’Malley is the keynote speaker at the DNC convention this year – then on to the DEM nomination for President in 2016 with Warren on the ticket as VP – then on to the 2017 inauguration when PBO & VP Biden gracefully hand him & Warren the baton to govern this country for the next EIGHT years!!!!

Just thinking, utaustinliberal, about how just one, mind you, one intelligent man was able to put the rest of the people there on the panel in check. Reminds me of how David defeated Goliath with just 5 stones and that one stone hit him right in the middle of his head. Governor O’Malley may have been outnumbered but he had his stuff ready.

Ahh, UT don’t be hat’n. I love my Governor. I am so glad and thankful to live in a state where “most” legislators are sane. Gov. O’Malley is a good guy – not perfect – but who is? No human being that I know. We have very good US Senators and “most” Congressional Reps are good. We do have a couple who could stand a couple of outings to the woodshed (joking), but overall we’re really lucky here.

I lost all respect for Bob Schieffer when he gave his opinion about President Obama that he had made a mistake with the catholic church.
I am sure he is a shame of himself, after speaking to Governor O’Malley who gave him a dose of intelligence; more evidence that these morning shows need to have less republicans on their show, because they are truly brain draining.

    • February 26, 2012 at 2:31 pm

I agree. O’Malley is awesome. The Politico interview was priceless and a must see by Obama supporters. He spanked McDonnell down to the typical republican talking points which O’Malley sounded truanced him.

    On the GOP

Fareed Zakaria: In this fallโ€™s election, you still prefer Obama to the alternative?

Zbigniew Brzezinski: Oh, without a question, without a question. I mean, look at those Republican debates.

I must say I literally feel embarrassed as an American when I see those people orate.

One of them sounds like a medieval Savonarola.

Another one is trying to explain why he has some of his wealth located in the Cayman Islands.

And someone else would go back to 1780.

And then there is someone who is using his credentials as a repudiated speaker of the Congress to be president. I mean, this is just embarrassing….

On going to War with Iran

“Zbigniew Brzezinksi: We donโ€™t need to go to war. And we have to make that very clear to our Israeli friends. Weโ€™re not going to go to war. Theyโ€™re not going to go to war by flying over our airspace over Iraq. Weโ€™re not going to support them. If they do it, they will be on their own. The consequences will be theirs, because the price weโ€™ll all pay, based on a massive war, which the Iranians interpret as being done with our connivance, will be disastrous for us in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in the terms of oil, but also in the Middle East more generally.”

The best would be little companies deciding to MOVE to blue states. THe reactionary governments will get the message pretty fast…

Thanks so much for the article Tien. Logic and facts are a wonderful concept. It’s quite interesting to see how supply and demand plays a role in rising gas prices. The article also highlighted a point PBO made in his Energy Policy speech at the University of Miami, that while the U.S. is using less foreign oil, the churning out of cars in Asia and Brazil means that those countries guzzle up a lot of oil/gas and since we operate in a global market, it affects us negatively.

      • February 26, 2012 at 12:33 pm

You’re welcome…amazing what we can find on twitter.

I love the way the Democrats are using this as an opportunity instead of going on the defense. The narrative is being turned to expanding and diversifying our energy sources; reducing the amount of fuel we consume by buying cars that get better mileage, and highlighting the travesty of the GOP continuing to support the 4.1B a year oil subsidy to companies making record profits.

And Santorum not only calls President Obama a “snob” for wanting kids to have the opportunity to go to college, he says that the idea of separation of church and state makes him want to throw up.

And it’s quite possible that President Obama can win Arizona. One poll I saw had him and Mitt tied at 47, and this was BEFORE the Brewer endorsement. If I were the Obama campaign, I’d start playing offense in Arizona this summer during the campaign and force the big money special interests to waste their money defending what should be a red state.

Brewer: Obama Admin Doesn’t Want To Secure Arizona Border

On Meet the Press Sunday, Arizona Gov. Happy, Happy Birthday GGail. Hope you have an excellent day!!!

I am having a discussion on facebook with a young conservative friend who had a picture of all the republican Presidents in uniform’s and then a picture of Clinton in a HS band uniform and a picture of Obama with a white turban on saying Conservatives forever. Saying President Obama in a muslim uniform. I wrote this is a lie. The picture is from 2006 when Obama was in Africa. Has anyone else seen this picture?

This was an old smear from the Clinton camp during the Dem primaries and debunked long before the general. Furthermore, It is customary sometimes and out of respect to wear the garb of the country you are visiting particularly in the muslim countries. Anyone bringing up this photo must be in desperation mode – the McCain camp of 2008 didn’t even use it. And here’s a pic of GWB palling around with the Saudi’s. What say the RW about this?

Check out this article about Oil prices and Kock brothers and the their control. below is a portion of the article

“One of those players is the petrochemical multinational Koch Industries. Although oil extraction is a small part of the Kochโ€™s oil business the company has major control over every other part of the market as its core venture is shipping crude oil, refining it, distributing it to retailers, then speculating on the future price. The company actively trades about 50 types of crude oil around the world and has trading operations in London, Geneva, Singapore, Houston, New York, Wichita, Rotterdam, and Mumbai”
