        February 21, 2012 at 9:57 pm

Yes, it was Mick who did the honors, and Mr. President took it from there. You know he did a great job because of the timing of song and being able to come in on the up and down beat was tremendous. Great Intellect. What can’t our President do. Great evening. It was wonderful to watch him get into the music throughout the entire evening. Loved it!!!!!!HZ

        February 21, 2012 at 10:11 pm

Yeah, not even the President refuses a mic from Mick

The city of Chicago just has to use that clip of him and the rest of them chiming in as a tourist ad. It’s that good!

        Paging Rahm, paging Rahm….

          February 21, 2012 at 10:46 pm

Yes, and not even Mick refuses to give the mic to a President like POB. That is even more amazing. What history made in that beautiful moment. Music is a universal healers.

After all of the ugly treatment sent out over the air today toward POB, MUSIC graced the President and the WH tonight!!!! What a joy!!!!!HZ

I remember the bruhaha over the stones back in the way when. Banned, protested (I think also arrested) by the likes of that guy with the funny sweater who dreams of being president -and his kind of people.

They said the same types of things about the Stones as the say about PBO, ie satan, anti-christ, etc

Well ole Mick got the last laugh tonite. Heads must be exploding in some corners of the land.

Question is, Why does that make the night just that much sweeter to me? hehehehe

I like its lake and its big buildings and the Magnificent Mile and the great restaurants and the Bears and the parks and the neighborhoods— and the trees— which are all just the right size, not too tall, not too short, very oaky and acorny and just right. And most of all because Sweet Home Chicago produced the Greatest President of All Time!

Yes PBO is a secret member of the muslim brotherhood who spent 10 years in and was married and had his children baptized in a Church led by Rev Wright just to throw the good people of this nation off his scent, so he can carry out the death wishes of his father who -50 years before- stealthly posted the announcement of his birth in a Hawaii newspaper knowing full well the day will come when The Donald would send his minions on the quest to reveal the dastardly deed and serve him his commeupance as the imposter he is for all the world to see!

Hi Blue, I didn’t click the link because the Daily Mail is the most hateful, race-baiting pile of venomous crap on the face of the earth, it makes the National Enquirer seem like Pulitzer-worthy-stuff. Please keep that in mind when you read anything there, it’s as poisonous and dishonest as Drudge.

Yes Blue, don’t blame Bobby for Whitney’s trouble. It does not matter now. We all have personal demons and each of us have no one to blame but ourselves. As I recalled, Whitney was an adult making good and bad decisions.

I’m having fun catching up on all the excitement around these parts! Wow. He is a man of many talents. On Mick Jagger, handing him the mic, how cool. One of the best books I’ve read in the past couple of years was the autobiography by Keith RIchards. In it he describes how he and Mick first wrote their songs and put together the band on the idea of bringing a different sound to England. The sound of Chicago blues music. Tonight kind of brings all the history and present together all wrapped up in a big beautiful bow, huh?

    Our Singing President…take that haters!
With so much hate thrown at this man everyday, it’s like he has a love shield protecting him from all that hate and vitriol. You can feel the love, it will be the Repugs singing the blues.

    What a fun night!

Everyone seemed to have had a good time. Here as well as the “People’s House”
I see that our President is compiling more songs for that first anticipated CD.

Well, thank you, Chips for doing such a wonderful job all day (as usual). It is late and I am up preparing food for a Celebration of Life for a dear sweet, kind energetic Mother at my place of worship who just loved dancing for the Lord. Even though she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she never stopped dancing.
Thank you, Chips for helping me to stay up. I really needed a Red, White and Blues concert.
    Sweet sleep everyone……..

Every morn I watch about 5 min of FoxandFriends to see what they will be chomping on all day long. Anyway again, Gretchen Carlson blushed over Obama singing. She also said it was great political strategy HA.
Plus the morn new AP/GKF Poll has Obama over 50% on all 4 GOP contenders.

Chicagoans on the list: The Obama campaign is tapping six from Chicago to be national co-chairs: Bill Daley, Sen. Dick Durbin, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Penny Pritzker, Rep. Jan Schakowsky and Alan Solow.

    Good Morning TOD!

Poll: Santorum surges, President Obama leads Republicans

And this dear friends is the money quote:

“Notably, the survey showed the president dominating among independents, a group central to Obama’s 2008 victory, whose support for him had faltered in recent months. According to the poll, 6 in 10 independents would choose Obama over any of the Republicans.”

    Have a great productive O’Day!

How many Mormons live in Michigan? Once Santorum and the Evangelicals attacked the Mormon church, any Mormon sitting on the sidelines will come out and vote. We have a very large Mormon following here in Arizona, so Arizona should be a shoe-in.

Anne Frank, the Jewish girl whose diary and death in a Nazi concentration camp made her a symbol of the Holocaust, was allegedly baptized posthumously Saturday by a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to whistleblower Helen Radkey, a former member of the church.

The ritual was conducted in a Mormon temple in the Dominican Republic, according to Radkey, a Salt Lake City researcher who investigates such incidents, which violate a 2010 pact between the Mormon Church and Jewish leaders.

Radkey said she discovered that Annelies Marie “Anne” Frank, who died at Bergen Belsen death camp in 1945 at age 15, was baptized by proxy on Saturday. Mormons have submitted versions of her name at least a dozen times for proxy rites and carried out the ritual at least nine times from 1989 to 1999, according to Radkey. But Radkey says this is the first time in more than a decade that Frank’s name has been discovered in a database that can be used both for genealogy and also to submit a deceased person’s name to be considered for proxy baptism — a separate process, according to a spokesman for the church. The database is only open to Mormons.

    Good news! http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-22/construction-jobs-rebound-amid-pick-up-in-u-s-home-remodeling.html

Construction hiring is picking up as Americans invest in renovating their homes amid signs that the worst of the housing-market declines may be over.
The number of people working in residential remodeling grew 5.8 percent in December to 250,700 from a year earlier, based on preliminary data released Feb. 3 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This was the highest growth for these jobs — which account for about 5 percent of construction employment — since December 2006, before the housing bubble burst.
Sales of existing homes, which rose 5 percent in December, precede spending on improvement projects by about six months, as new owners often do a lot of โ€œfix-upsโ€ soon after they move in, said Kermit Baker, a senior fellow at Harvard Universityโ€™s Joint Center for Housing Studies. That means thereโ€™s now a โ€œstrengthening marketโ€ for this work, buoyed by demand thatโ€™s more discretionary in nature — such as minor kitchen remodels – – and mild winter weather in much of the U.S.

Good morning DF. I don’t know if you got your property tax assessment for 2013, but values went up $10,000 in Maricopa County. Also, I live on the Northwest side and builders are busy. What worries me is that they are constructing many homes in the high $200,000 and low $300,000 range, which is in part what caused our meltdown.

Hi, Jackie ๐Ÿ™‚ I DID get the assessment in the mail….but I really didn’t study it too much…..I thought mine went DOWN, but I’ll look again. I live on the Northeast side of town…not much going on around here that I can see. People are redoing their homes, and not many foreclosures around anymore..that’s good news! This place is so built up right now, it’s hard to believe that you could FIT anymore concrete into a space……

On Friday, however, a broad coalition of religious organizations filed an amicus brief supporting the Affordable Care Actโ€™s Medicaid expansion that should give the lie to any claim that the faith community opposes the ACA. The brief includes a number of major religious denominations, including the policy arm of the United Methodist Church, the General Synod of the United Church of Christ and the Presbyterian Church. Additionally, the briefโ€™s signatories include a wide range of Catholic groups:

That’s great, DF. But didn’t Santorum tells us that none of these Protestant groups count. Only the members of his lunatic fringe are part of the faith community. Surely Santorum wouldn’t lie, would he?
