Santorum attacks Obama on prenatal screening

I wonder how long the Repug will keep attacking women’s health issues and now childrens health issue. It is suicide, but they don’t seem to get that.

I have come to dislike Rick Santorum just as much if not more than Newt or Mitt. He’s a racists lying bastard who hide behind his religion.

        • February 19, 2012 at 7:49 am

Anniebella, yes he is and always has been. He’s also a sanctimonious prig and so extremist in his thinking that he’s off the charts. The more he talks the clearer it is that he’s unfit for elected office, let alone president. The people of PA finally got on to him and booted him out.

Hi guyz. Waving from dubai aeroporto. Any big developments ? Did mitt quit yet ?

    • February 18, 2012 at 10:30 pm

Amk!!!!!!!! You know, just following your comments makes me feel like a globe-trotter.

Have we any news to tell amk, people?

Nothing really – apart from Mitt, Newt, Rick and Ron all giving up and endorsing PBO. “We concede, we were fighting a losing battle, the guy’s awesome, we admit that now,” read their joint statement.

Other than that? A quiet day really.

      Safe travels my friend!

      • February 18, 2012 at 10:56 pm

Desertflower, he’s too busy chatting up the rubbernecker to see you waving, the mere sight of a good-looking woman and he forgets who his true friends are. It’s sad. Huh.

        • February 18, 2012 at 11:13 pm

You guyz can’t leave a man even a for a minute to enjoy his moment, can ya ? Well, she is gone to catch her flight and I lost my laptop wifi. So doing this from the desktop (it’s been years since I touched one) in their business lounge.

She is from munich enroute to south africa on business. Some big hotel management stuff. She asked in typical german english if I am an obama fan and of course, I told her I hate him. She laughed and said he is a good american president and is well liked in germany too. She said he is good for international politics, especially after how dubya fucked up everything. Then we got to talking about our businesses and how europe is in a shitter and how her prez resigned in disgrace this week. Then her flight call came and she is gone now. Sigh. She was cute too, about 40ish.

Not yet! But watch out for Feb. 28. If Willard “Mitt” looses Michigan to the Santorum, I don’t think he will be able to stay in the race much longer. I know he has lots of money, but Michigan may be a make or break for Willard “Mitt.” He might regain momentum in Arizona, but then there is Super Tuesday which will include many Southern States that are likely to vote against him. If Willard “Mitt” wins Michigan he will be the GOP nominee, but if Ricky the Santorum beats Willard in Michigan, then I say that poor Willard is in big trouble. In order to stay in the race, and expect to be the GOP nominee, he has to decisively win the majority of delegates on Super Tuesday.

I hear you. Me too. I watched as much of Whitney’s good bye as I could, before I had to take the cat to the vets because, literally over night the poor thing started looking awful. Thought I may have to put her down….alas, I came home with my little darling…with antibiotics…and hopefully she’ll be ok. Sucks the life out of me.I had prepared myself for her death, and she got to come home…that’s a good thing, but it left me in a mood…and a little drained.

Night, yardarm…tomorrow will be better. For both of us.

LunarSea…I hope you find this:) I went to bed early last night and didn’t see this:) She is quite the huntress! Once upon a time she went outside…but no more. she has made due with “hunting” clothes that she proudly drags out into the living room…screaming some primal scream as she drags them out….it’s hilarious. I stop whatever I’m doing to go see her “kill” and praise her.

The fact that she has dragged out bras, underwear, sweatpants, bathing suits, shorts…..doesn’t seem to phase my daughter! She keeps leaving crap on the floor of her room…..I mistakenly thought that Lilly’s hunting expeditions would deter her from doing that, but….not so much! We have a “rule” in our house, and that is that we have to have “weird” animals that have strange antics that amuse us…..all my animals are adopted from shelters….and they all bring such joy and laughter to our family…..amazing little creatures.

Just don’t let her see that callista thing up there, and at least yardarm doesn’t have to try to fall asleep with that thing bouncing off the back of his brain! I hope he logged off in time!

I don’t think the MSM will be liking Rick very much because he’s like attacking everybody. Even Drudge is highlighting this mess.

Tally, I am such a closet Gleek! I don’t know why I love that show so much. First I watch for the musical numbers, then I go back and fast forward thru the music for the story lines. While she is making the best of her ‘fifteen minutes of fame’ (that’s my way of saying that she’s not a very good actress….) the casting of Nene Leaks as the Olympic bronze medal winning swim coach is priceless!! I was really tiring of Sue Sylvester getting all of the bitchy lines. Now, all they need is an African American boy who sings bass.

The Obama campaign is stepping up mobilization of younger voters in 10 key swing states this month, dispatching senior aides and a handful of celebrities to college campuses for β€œsummits” aimed at engaging the 18-to-29-year-old base.
The events will take place at Columbus State Community College in Ohio, University of Wisconsin-Madison, North Carolina Central University, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of Colorado-Boulder, Miami Dade College, and University of Iowa in Iowa City, among others, a campaign official said.
Campaign manager Jim Messina, who hosted the campaign’s first youth summit at the University of Pennsylvania late last year, will join senior strategist David Axelrod, deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter and field director Jeremy Bird in fanning out to make the pitch for Obama.

If there is a plus to any of this Rethuglican mess, it’s that everytime they spout their foolishness, more and more people get to see just how twisted and mean-spirited (hateful, really) they are. I don’t like to hear their mess, but I hope they keep on going and going and going. How someone could be gay and work for Mitt Romney is sad, when you think about it. If it took this for him to be “out” and more comfortable with himself, I say “GOOD for him”

Those vids are just great. Thanks for pulling them together for this ‘end of the day’ post. In particular the one about the intimacy of the first couple and the comments of the people in the street. One lady said how we needed this and other talked about how it changed the way they relate with their significant others. And that is just one reason why I cannot get myself riled up about the krazy klown kar kandidates.

We like having someone intelligent at the helm. Someone who the whole world admires. Someone with a vision of greatness that makes us feel good about ourselves and our country. I don’t see how people want to go back to stupid, to rigid, to ignorant, to stepford wives, to inaccessible.

I mean we like our leader making the WH be the people’s house again. We like the respect they show each other and Tweedie not withstanding, we like that they actually have family values. We like these things too much to go back to some age of darkness.

Not. Gonna. Happen. We’re going to see Obama/Biden 2.0 and none of these klowns are going to change that.

Catching up this morning, so much to read……….good morning everyone.

I saw this this morning….how lovely!

”Thank-you notes from famous people: Obama thanks a Canadian”

Among the notes is one to a Canadian: U.S. President Barack Obama wrote to Canadian author Yann Martel, thanking him for his now-iconic novel Life of Pi.

“My daughter and I just finished reading Life of Pi together. Both of us agreed we prefer the story with animals. It is a lovely book β€” an elegant proof of God, and the power of storytelling. Thank you.”

See, now PBO is impacting your reading life! πŸ˜† Our President is an all-around good influence for every aspect of our lives. I literally bought this book months ago after I first saw this report, but I still haven’t read it yet. Living plus TOD has completely robbed me of time to read…..my former passtime.

Oh my goodness, I’ve been racking my brain trying to decide the next book to get for my nephew. It never occurred to me that decision would be inspired by a comment from TOD. Thank you Christi! This is simply the most awesome blog EVER. Thank you Chips, thank you TOD Family!

So, Maine actually recounted it’s results, and Robney increased his lead over Paul, to 239 votes ahead!
So, all the Paul folks were wrong again…

At this point I don’t trust ANYTHING about the GOP primary. I see it as essentially fixed for Romney to win because they think he’s the only one who has a remote chance of beating PBO. So all their various shenanigans are just silly distractions to generating ratings for the cable news.

Also, right now we need to be concentrating on the media and GOP’s attempts to blame the President for rising gas prices. This is going to be their shiny new toy in the next few months.

It’s because of Keystone. The oil companies flat out told the President, if you disapprove this you will be sorry.
They are making good in their promise.
It’s all about Keystone and drilling in Anwar!
Get ready for drill baby drill.
Probably why Salazar approved Shell to drill in the Arctic!

I don’t know what is going with Twitter but they sometimes “unfollow” people who I’ve been following, and delete some of my followers for no good reason!

I know. I observed that on my timeline yesterday and had to re-follow some people who I had already been following for a long time. Twitter does bug out sometimes. They need better servers.

I’m beginning to think that boycotting MSM and relying on social media is not enough. There has to be a concerted effort to discredit MSM because lots of independants, lots of moderates are watching it. Never miss an occasion to point out to your friends and family the obvious and scandalous disparity between the treatement of democrats and republicans especially on the Sunday shows. Once you instill in them some doubt about the fairness of MSM, especially cable news, maybe they’ll be more open to discussion about President Obama’s policies and accomplishments.

The mainstream media has abdicated their responsibility to educate and inform the public with the facts. Instead, they carry water for the Republican Party and pretend they are a credible opposition party. They are so flummoxed and intimidated by the brilliance of President that have resorted to using the power of their profession to obscure his accomplishments. It’s long past due to get back to the basics of journalism. The facts are taking a back seat and it is incredibly damaging to the political discourse in this country.

Democracy depends on citizens having reliable, accurate facts put in a meaningful context. Journalism does not pursue truth in an absolute or philosophical sense, but it can–and must–pursue it in a practical sense. This “journalistic truth” is a process that begins with the professional discipline of assembling and verifying facts. Then journalists try to convey a fair and reliable account of their meaning, valid for now, subject to further investigation. Journalists should be as transparent as possible about sources and methods so audiences can make their own assessment of the information. Even in a world of expanding voices, accuracy is the foundation upon which everything else is built–context, interpretation, comment, criticism, analysis and debate. The truth, over time, emerges from this forum. As citizens encounter an ever greater flow of data, they have more need–not less–for identifiable sources dedicated to verifying that information and putting it in context.

While news organizations answer to many constituencies, including advertisers and shareholders, the journalists in those organizations must maintain allegiance to citizens and the larger public interest above any other if they are to provide the news without fear or favor. This commitment to citizens first is the basis of a news organization’s credibility, the implied covenant that tells the audience the coverage is not slanted for friends or advertisers. Commitment to citizens also means journalism should present a representative picture of all constituent groups in society. Ignoring certain citizens has the effect of disenfranchising them. The theory underlying the modern news industry has been the belief that credibility builds a broad and loyal audience, and that economic success follows in turn. In that regard, the business people in a news organization also must nurture–not exploit–their allegiance to the audience ahead of other considerations.

Today media is all about ratings, they don’t give a dam about truth. You may fine one or two who isn’t that way, but most of them are just like those tabloid trash rag.

Drill baby drill! Here it comes, get ready for it!

I expect Secretary Chu to release more oil from the reserves. This time, he has to make sure that Oil companies just don’t park that oil offshore, in order to keep prices high.
    Experience, in this case, matters…

NEVER listen to that neocon jerk. He’s my useless senator…and he’s retiring to one of his 12 houses, never to be heard from again. We can hope! Though the MSM will probably drag his sorry ass on every Sunday show even when he’s no longer a senator…’cuz that’s what they do!

I’m more piss with Harkin, because he shouldn’t have said those words. He knew better. I don’t believe that Dems would have supported that bill if they thought it would hurt Social Security, so what is Harkin real problem. Sometimes Dems are Dems own worse enemy.
