    Repost from last thread

Ok.I just walked into the workers’ room inside a Kenyan power station where we are working. Found an old calendar called “THE OBAMA YEAR Mr President”. Completely took me by surprise. Posted the pics below.

The workers were happy to know that I am on obamabot. 🙂

Asked me whether he will win again and i said, ‘You betcha’.

Apparently it was a special calendar made by a local newspaper and it starts from November 2008 and goes up to Nov 2009.

Wonder what was so fricking special about Nov 2008. 🙂

That is so cool! Thanks for sharing that little tidbit with us!

did they say anything about the crazy GOP candidates? do they have any view or perspective on what’s happening this election year?

      • January 20, 2012 at 2:13 am

No thankfully they are not exposed to the fucking US fifth columnist msm. They don’t know about the crazy coots from the racist party.

They asked how much money he raised this time. :). When I told them 200 mil so far, they were happy.

Of course, they knew about birtherism, which apparently made it to their news here. Were laughing their asses of on that nonsense.

Then everyone had to get back to work. I will try to catch them when they are free.

In my 51 years, I have never seen calendar start from Nov. 🙂

Love it Bobfr. Still shaking my head at all the ignorant, ignorant vitriol spewed at the Dixie Chicks during the Shrub reign. It was unconscionable, and, now in hindsight, a scary preview of all the ratcheted up ignorant vitriol on steroids PBO and those of us in this country fighting to be on the right side of history are now subjected to on a daily basis. Press On!

You are right on target, PSLA. That’s exactly why I’m making the recommendation to juxtapose that song, their experiences because they spoke truth to the horrible, illegal war that Bush/Cheney inflicted on both the citizens of Iraq and America, with what our dear President has had to endure since Jan 2009.

Thus, I’ve also posted a tweet to David Axelrod and Jim Messina:

Without doubt, those wondering whether President Obama can bring the heat, he brought it at the Apollo and, as noted, it’s just January. Can you imagine his acceptance speech at the Dem Convention!!!!!

I’m with you PSLA. Now that’s what I’d call “despicable.” I went out and bought a couple of their CDs just as a way of supporting them in some small way and I’m not even much of a country music fan.

By the way, their music is hellagood and I took great pleasure in watching them win so many Grammys for this song and the Taking the Long Way Home album. Fantastic artists!

          January 20, 2012 at 1:41 pm

Yes I did the same thing Dudette! I’m not much of fan of country music either but they are very talented. I was impressed with their music and when they won all those Grammys, it was like karmic retribution opened up a can of whupa##! Not only did I buy a couple of their CDs in support but also the documentary they did called Shut Up and Sing which was chilling. It was an eerie preview to what we are up against now with PBO’s re-election. And like PBO said last night, we have to refuse to give up, keep pushing, keep fighting, inch by inch to drag ALL of this country forward.

I think what we’re seeing in the President’s fundraising speeches is a preview of parts of his stump speech for the campaign. And damn, it’s going to be a good one. When the President says he knows change is possible “because he’s lived it”, it’s one of the most powerful and authentic statements any President has ever made. Love it.

(and it turns out he can carry a tune. who knew?)

Good morning all and Chips, I watched the entire Apollo theatre speech of President Obama’s and it was amazing….. Chips please post the entire speech if at all possible.. As God as my witness, President Obama never called any of those so called candidates out of their name or bashed the media and it still was a passionate and factual wonderful speech… President Obama is the true measure of a man and a leader.

ATHENS (Reuters) – Greece and its private bondholders drew closer on Friday to a bond swap deal that would prevent the country from sinking into a chaotic default and ease the euro zone’s debilitating debt crisis.

Cash-strapped Greece is fast running out of time as it pushes to wrap up an agreement by Monday paving the way for a fresh injection of aid before 14.5 billion euros ($18.5 billion)of bond repayments fall due in March.

Bankers and government officials close to the talks say an agreement to cut Greece’s debt is in sight and that the two sides may be able to present a joint proposal at a meeting of euro zone finance ministers on Monday.

Burma’s president sketched a vision of gradual progress toward democracy for his isolated and authoritarian nation in his first extensive interview with a U.S. journalist, saying that the military will retain a strong role in government even as it welcomes opposition figures into parliament.

“My message is that we are on the right track to democracy,” President Thein Sein said. “Because we are on the right track, we can only move forward, and we don’t have any intention to draw back.”

The exclusive interview with Thein Sein — conducted Tuesday at his ornate presidential office in Naypyidaw by Lally Weymouth, senior associate editor for The Washington Post — offered a rare glimpse of Burma’s reclusive leadership and the soft-spoken, bespectacled former general at its head.

How can anyone look at our beautiful president and hear him and then look at the hateful bozos on the Republican stage and hear them and say, “I choose the bozo” ? How filled with ugly do you have to be to willfully choose hate over love? It can’t be about ideology because none of the R candidates speak in coherent thoughts and offer no ideas that haven’t been tried and failed a thousand times over in this nation’s history. It can’t be about “passion” for a specific candidate because these guys couldn’t scare up a whiff of charisma between them. It’s all about ignorance, deep-seated, irrational anger, and a need to destroy anyone who isn’t like themselves. For the sake of our national soul, as well as the future of our children, we have to make sure the people of love vastly outnumber the people of hate. This isn’t just another presidential campaign, this is an epic battle.

But I also want to say that PBO has a BIG heart, he ‘s a people’s person, he likes to have fun, along with securing and taking care of the business of America, which Is just soooooo much to take care of. I say God bless you real good, President Obama, there are some of us, that not only LOVE you, but we adore you, and Is oh sooooooooooo very proud to have you as our Commander In Chief. You are the kind of LEADER, that doesn’t put yourself above the people, but realizing, that WE ALL are GOD’s People, Including the SANE and INSANE, the GOOD and the EVIL. I took a peek at Steve B. before signing in here and he started the morning with Willard’s seeming unprepared response about his finances –

“In other words, Romney wants to hide information from the public to prevent people from learning the truth and criticizing him. He said the exact same thing in December when asked why he purged his gubernatorial administration’s email records in advance of his presidential campaign — Romney admitted the move was intended to hide official correspondence from the public and keep potentially-embarrassing information from “opposition research” teams.
This is ridiculous on its face. A candidate who preaches transparency shouldn’t be able to keep records secret just because people might be mean to him. Scrutiny and criticism is supposed to be part of the process, making Romney’s answer rather pathetic.”

Men KNOW when another man has game. Of course, Pres. Obama is happily married, but ya gotta know he HAD to be slayin’ em back in the day. And that “I’m sooo in love with you” was just proof of how smooth and confident he was and still is..

I mean, think about it. He did that, sang the intro to “Let’s say together” a signature song of Al Green, WITH AL GREEN IN THE HOUSE!!!! Cajones, anyone?

    http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/01/19/walker-turns-down-37-million-meant-for-wisconsinites-health-care/

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) turned down on Thursday a $37 million grant that would have helped to provide health care services for tens of thousands of Wisconsinites, saying he would rather deny his citizens treatment if it means he is resisting the “encroachment of ObamaCare.”

The money would have been used in Wisconsin to implement health care exchanges under the Affordable Care Act, meant to pool insurance resources to drive the cost of policies down for individual citizens and people with pre-existing conditions.

Romney: I Won’t Release My Tax Returns Because ‘I Don’t Want To Give The Democrats A Nice Little Present’ | GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney endured a hail of boos during the CNN debate last night when he refused to commit to releasing his 2011 tax returns. This morning on Fox and Friends, host Gretchen Carlson asked Romney whether he’d be willing to “make news” and agree to release his returns before April. An obstinate Romney repeated that he will only release his returns once on April 15th. “The reason is very simple,” he said. “I want to beat Barack Obama. I don’t want to give the Democrats a nice little present of having multiple releases.

    • January 20, 2012 at 11:12 am

Has anyone heard about a “documentary” Fox is doing Sunday night? A friend emailed us without a source, (she is an Obama supporter) very worried…..the write up says it will show all his Rev. Wright connections, communist, etc. connections…..and will bring down Obama.” I don’t know how to research this, but people on this blog are great researchers. Um…tell your friend that any time folks have to resort to Rev Wright – it means they’ve already lost. Period. Tell her that Ron Paul’s racist Newsletter are FAR WORSE than any connection – real or imagined that PBO could have with Rev Wright.

Also, carolyn, tell your friend that email is a HOAX. This email has about FOX NEWS airing a “revealing documentary” has been circulating since 2009! Tell your friend she needs to be a bit more discerning about the types of emails she receives and their sources.

I know nothing about the documentary, but going after Rev. Wright at this point will have little meaning except to the true haters. It is old news and has been resolved. Rev. Wright served in the Marines and the Navy and is hardly a communist.

      • January 20, 2012 at 3:13 pm

I recall reading on Media Matters last week that, in an interview, Hannity told Romney to bring up the issue of Rev.Wright again. If it didn’t work in 2008, why would Hannity think it would work in 2012? Strange, sounds like panic and desperation to me.

I know right? It’s so much fun. When you go to Youtube, Chipsticks video of PBO singing is the first recommended video. GMA, CBS This Morning, Today Show, Morning Joe, CNN, Fox News, and a host of local stations all over the country have been repeatedly airing the video. Grown men and women on the news have been giggling and going gaga over PBO’s voice. Journalists have been tweeting about how awesome PBO’s voice is. Jim Messina has been recommending the video to all his twitter followers. President Obama. Al Green, and Let’s Stay Together have been trending worldwide since last night. It’s the power of Obama. Woooot! Wooot!

It’s 7:24am here in CA and Al Green, Let’s stay together, and President Obama are still trending on Twitter… I love it! Everyone seems to love that singing and it has totally upstaged the debate last night. I am so glad because the GOP has been getting ALL the attention, it’s time PBO got a little love…awesome.

He is my dream President….for all he stands for and all he is doing, but also just who he is….his elegance, his intelligence, his easy way, the way he dances with Michelle….and now, to hear his smooth singing voice? Four more years please.

When POTUS goes to New Orleans for a rally, he needs to call up Southern University and have them back him up. Then he can really sing his big heart out!
