Just to say, though, I’m neither Barb from Florida nor James from Alabama.
That’s who OFA, usually, tell me I am when I click that link.

Obama ad buy nears million-dollar mark
By ALEXANDER BURNS | 1/18/12 9:37 PM
We’ve been tracking the Obama campaign’s first TV ad buy today, starting with the first, low-dollar ad reservations in a handful of markets in Ohio, Michigan, Virginia and North Carolina.
But a media-buying source emails that Obama’s ad flights have grown to a total of $753,160 across six states — the four above plus Wisconsin and Iowa. The final total will be higher, the source said, as some stations and cable buys aren’t fully in yet.
Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

Bitter rows mar Republican race
A war of words between US Republican rivals Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney has escalated with just three days to go before South Carolina’s primary.
Mr Gingrich said he expected Mr Romney’s campaign to be “unendingly dirty and dishonest”, drawing fire from the front-runner’s campaign.
Meanwhile, ABC News reported that Mr Romney has invested millions of dollars in accounts in the Cayman Islands.
/
Mr Romney’s financial disclosure forms show he invested in at least 12 funds worth $8m and one fund estimated to be worth between $5m and $25m – all domiciled in the Cayman Islands, according to ABC News.
Campaign officials denied that the accounts provided a tax advantage, but some tax experts say offshore accounts can have potential benefits, including greater foreign interest.
The focus on his wealth is an unwanted distraction for Mr Romney, correspondents say, as he looks for a strong showing in a state where the unemployment rate, at 9.9%, is among the highest in the nation.

Do you smell that? It’s the smell of napalm in the morning from the GOP civil war. It smells like… victory.
🙂 YES!
That was a good movie and was in someways true. It was a crazy damn war.
Crazy damn war.
Hahahahaha. Good one LL. That was from the movie Apocalypse Now right? Crazy creepy movie.
The problem with Newt and Mitt, neither one of them is worth sheet, but they are the GOP problem. We have our candidate and he is better than both of them combine. OBAMA/BIDEN 2012
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Using a practice that made him eligible for large tax deductions, Mitt Romney gave the Mormon church substantial stock holdings that he obtained through his private equity firm, according to documents filed with the government and to Romney associates.
The tactic used by Romney to help meet his Mormon obligation of “tithing” – in which members donate 10 percent of their income to the church – is a common way for wealthy Americans to make large donations to charities, tax specialists say.
But against the backdrop of a Republican presidential campaign in which Romney is being pressured to reveal his tax returns and further details on his vast wealth, the donations shed light on the tax strategies of Romney and others at Bain Capital, the private equity firm he co-founded in 1984.

Drip drip splash!
Thanks, Jovie, for sharing this revealing Reuters’ article. As Dr. King was fond of saying: “No Lie Can Live Forever!” Slowly, Willard “Mitt” Romney is being exposed, even as he is going around the country telling lies about President Obama.
A Weak Frontrunner. Got a chuckle from Jonothan Chait talking about Romney on Political wire: . . . . “But he is the one-eyed man in the land of the politically blind”. . .

Goodnight, Chipsticks, goodnight everyone, thanking you for your wonderful company on this snowy day in the Pacific NorthWest! Sweet dreams of Obama~Biden 2012!
Night! Enjoy your snow:)
Goodnight Chips. Thanks 🙂
Chips,
saw on another blog that Andrew Sullilvan did an excellent job of defending the President on job creation against Bay Buchanan on Anderson Cooper’s show tonight. Maybe you can find the video?
HAHAHAHA! The guy in the glass house shouldn’t be throwing stones!
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-01-18/gingrich-paid-40k-in-speech-praising-pe-levy.html
Newt Gingrich, the Republican presidential candidate who has criticized rival Mitt Romney for his role in the buyout business, was paid more than $60,000 two years ago to deliver a speech that extolled the private-equity industry, according to the meeting’s organizer.
“This gentleman praised private equity more fulsomely than I could ever do it,” Paul Levy, managing director at JLL Partners Inc., said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “InsideTrack” today. “He was great. He gave a great evening. Everybody had fun. He fielded a lot of questions. He gave us a lot of time. Nobody praised private equity, risk-taking capital more fulsomely than Newt Gingrich.”
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-01-18/industrial-production-in-u-s-climbs-0-4-on-demand-for-business-equipment.html
Factories in the U.S. churned out more computers, cars and construction material in December as manufacturing remained at the center of the expansion.
Output (IPMGCHNG) climbed 0.9 percent last month, the biggest gain since December 2010, according to Federal Reserve data issued today in Washington. Other reports showed homebuilder confidence jumped and wholesale prices unexpectedly dropped.
Gains in consumer and business spending, combined with lean inventories, may prompt factories to continue to boost payrolls and hours, bolstering economic growth. Additionally, more demand from emerging markets may help shield American industry from a slowdown in exports to Europe as the region’s financial crisis and a weaker euro threaten to restrain sales.
Look at the Newtster! http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2012/01/18/video-professor-gingrich-was-often-absent-and-spent-little-time-teaching-history/
“In addition to seeking the college presidency, Mr. Gingrich was often absent as he pursued political goals. He embarked on an effort to moonlight as a paid consultant. And, it turns out, he spent little time teaching history.”
watch the video. Some things never change.
Thanks, Desertflower, for the links! You are really relentless is sharing news that some of us would probably never get a chance to learn. I confess, besides Chipsticks, I come to this site to learn from you and other people who post links. I no longer turn on T.V. News because I just can’t stand listening to the idiots without loosing it.
Thanks, nathkatun7:) I try to find things that are interesting. I NEVER watch the TV news….I don’t watch TV that much, nothing really interests me, on regular television…I can’t stand the idiots either 🙂 Hope things are fine…nice to see you again…Keep reading those links!
I didn’t know there were American-made computers – thought all electronics would be made overseas. (Cars and construction material I understand….I keep bragging about my wonderful new Chevy Cruze Eco).
See what you can learn here! Glad you LOVE your car:)
Just checked a made-in-the usa website and didn’t find any computers except high tech military stuff. No irons either – I was looking to buy a new iron. Sigh. I am about to order a cool cast iron Dutch oven that’s made in Tennessee. And I bought a toy truck yesterday made in San Francisco – they sell them at Whole Foods and the Barnes and Noble near me.
Hi Elly, Yaay!!! I had to smile when I read your post. I am on my way today to purchase a Chevy Cruze. I waited for 2012 to make big purchases so my major buys would be in 2012, and count toward our President’s economic recovery. And, most of all I intend to buy goods with “the three words, Made In America!” “Yes, We Can!”
Chips…..I have to go to sleep soon…hit the Nyquil again…..but look at those hits>>>>>>>> 6,944,235……we’re getting close:) Huggies!!!
Good Nite Chips and TOD Family. Thanks for all of the great information and conversations. Love you all.HZ
Ha
I’ll take the ten dollars and I’ll send it right to OFA.

Retweeted! Romney is SUCH A LIAR
Ads should just continue to run on lie after lie that comes out of his hateful mouth!
WOW. The stupid. It hurts. Bedtime for me…night all…thanks for the stay home day 🙂
The US Navy rescued ANOTHER boat of Iranian fishermen. Third Time!
Jeez! One would think they were trying to leave the country it happens so often! Glad that they’re ok.
Makes you wonder how many have perished out there while no-one was looking out for them. Glad the Navy is looking out!
Well according to Mittens our Navy (under Obama) is weak and small, the size of the 1917 Navy. (per MotherJones account above).
We should have our Navy respond to this lie.
I just left a message for the Navy at their website. Didn’t mention their Commander in Chief, so they wouldn’t think my request was political! Wrote this:
Good evening. Today, I read that Mitt Romney, GOP presidential candidate, is saying that the Navy is “weak and small.” Will the Navy have a response? This is incredibly disrespectful to the military and civilian personnel of the Department of the Navy. I retired after 30 years with the Navy, ending my career as a civilian PAO, and I am appalled. Please don’t allow Americans to think our Navy is “weak and small.” Thank you.
Hot damn! Please don’t get me started jo. DeltaUniformMikeBravo AlphaSierraSierra’s. plus some other choice terms I could think of.
I was thinking of you while I was writing my request. True story. 🙂
I’m giving this up until tomorrow! G’night.
But first I tweeted the DOD Spokesman –
Nice JOB!!!
ha. Yardarm that cracks me up I sat here repeating your mil. alphabet and then finally went doh!……oh well. more coffee needed
Just Priceless Yardarm 😉
Be careful, I don’t trust Iran. They could be up to something, this is happening to many times.
The President looks awfully tired in tonight’s Oval Office photo. Wish he didn’t have such enormous weight on his shoulders. I really hope that We the People give him a better Congress to work with for his next term.
holy moly. you guys were on a tear since i last signed in. whoa. and now i gotta go to sleep eeeks! it’s late for me!
nitey nite.
am
I am reading my Marie Claire magazine and they have an article with photos about Nikki Haley, entitled Will Nikki Haley Be Our First Female President”? It hints that she may be a 2016 contender. She has a 34%. Poll rating. What a joke.
Luckily, I don’t read that magazine anymore, or I’d be hurling my copy in the trash! Wonder which Republican on their staff wrote that?
Nikki Haley is a fake and a joke – and she’s a tea partier, which is a group quickly retreating into obsolescence and irrelevance.
theo67, isn’t nearly all the Republicans a fake and a joke. A joke which isn’t funny, hopefully we can get rid of alot of them Nov. 2012.
Hahahahaha. Thanks for the chuckle COS. Desperate much Marie Claire? Nikki Haley is polling much lower than PBO in SC. Land of the bloody effed up tea party. She’s been abandoned by the very tea party that put her in power. She’ll be the first female President when I find the Holy Grail. Which by my count is…………….never.
Nikki Haley? You mean the woman who dislikes herself so much that she decided to ‘change’ who she was? You mean the Nikki Haley who registered to vote as a white woman? Everyone else in her family – both parents and her siblings identify as Asian. You mean the Nikki Haley was calls herself a Tea Party Repulbican? Haley was born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa[11] in Bamberg, South Carolina on January 20, 1972. Her parents, Dr. Ajit and Raj Randhawa, are Sikh immigrants from Amritsar, Punjab, India. You mean that Nikki Haley?
Oh okay, uh huh. yeah, right. 🙄
What a joke. Perhaps they’re just desperately trying to find a way to distract from their abysmal male candidates but Nikki Haley? No way. She’s the moron who was sitting in front of POTUS answering her email as he spoke to a group of Governors. She’s a disrespectful idiot.
THIS Nikki Haley?!
http://theobamadiary.com/tag/nikki/
Chips there are some amazing intimate photos of PBO and Michelle over at Time taken on her birthday.
http://lightbox.time.com/2012/01/19/inside-barack-obamas-world/#1
Please highlight these!
aamon, Thank you. The pictures of POTUS and FLOTUS are very nice. The other ones are okay too.
But I love those two of POTUS giving FLOTUS a kiss.
Those were great! I can’t wait for the article to come out.
Beautiful! kissing Michelle is wonderful….but the one with the King….he looks peeved.
Nikki Haley, First President of what? Not these United States.
You know how Democrats on tv keep telling the Obama Administration to stop attacking Bain? Well, here is why?-
http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/205025-dems-receive-more-bain-dollars-than-gop
Hmmmm!
Are the “dems” running for President? No one is talking about GOP who are not running for President. We are talking about MITT ROMNEY.
Nice try media, but FAIL.
Furthermore, the issue is not about receiving campaign donations from employees at Bain. The issue is about Mitt Romney’s specific unethical actions with the investment firm (Bain Capital). The Hill misses the point totally, or they know fully well what the issue is but are trying to distract with irrelevant nonsense as usual.
As they keep trying to point out, big diff between Bain and Bain Capital.
More media “both sides do it” BS.
Mitt Romney held a brief campaign stop Tuesday morning in Florence, S.C., and then bolted to a fundraiser in Manhattan, days before Palmetto State voters cast their ballots in a primary Romney hopes to win so he can wrap up the nomination fight for good. Yet in the few fateful minutes he spoke with reporters before his flight, the ever-cautious and disciplined candidate launched a grenade that could stop him from winning not only the primary on Saturday, but ultimately the nomination as well.

http://caucuses.desmoinesregister.com/2012/01/19/register-exclusive-2012-gop-caucus-count-unresolved/
The certified numbers: 29,839 for Santorum and 29,805 for Romney. The turnout: 121,503.
HAHAHAHAHA ROBNEY IS A FRAUD
The GOP is a stinking mess!!!!!!!!!!
Romney, Newt, Paul, Santorum, Perry, all are losers.
Seriously? Yuk, yuk, yuk. This is good.
But but but Keystone…
Yet GOP officials are saying “It’s a split decision”. I would love to hear that logic.
Lol! If I were Santorum, I would release an ad saying I won Iowa!
The Media is slamming our guy on Keystone! Nonstop…
Of course they are. They are financed by big oil. I am proud of the President for standing up for what is right.
So am I, but Democrats like Joe Klein sticking up for Big Oil. Scary!
Anyways, good Morning!
“F” Joe Klein
I know! He is a Ron Paul Troll.
Does the Pl talk to each other? They all have the same talking points!
DONT WORRY ABOUT IT. PBO KNEW THE IDIOTS IN THE PRESS WOULDNT REPORT THE FACTS. HE MADE THE DECISION ANYWAY. I HOPE THEY GET OUT IN FRONT OF IT.
Yes! Out in front of it. That ad is the first step, I am sure!
Jovie, does it surprise you? Remember the talk about the percentage of negative coverage the President gets, compare to the positive coverage he gets from the media. I believe it was about 90 negative, maybe 10 positive. The media wants a close race or a upset this November, it’s better ratings for them. Keystone is not that big of a deal, except the media want to try to make it a big deal, by the directing of the Republicans.
Yup!
You mean the media are making this into a CONTROVERSY? Wow, what a shock.
LOL Chips must be working hard on her Morning mishmash. It’s 730 am EST for God’s Sake.
I need my Chips fix before I go to my “real” job.
Me too.
Here you go.
🙂
You know, I would love to kick David Gregorys ass!
That is all!
He never, never says anything of substance or originality.
And his last words were a slam on the Presidents new ad- he is playing defense blah blah blah.
I am smacking him right in the mouth!
He’s getting blasted on Twitter right now.
Nice! He really hates our President! You can tell!
I could go up to Disney World today to see My President, but I would probably not get close!
It’s only 1 1/2 hours away from me, maybe!
Was thinking the same thing, but don’t even know where to go to get a chance to see him.

HERES THE FULL ITNERVIEW
Things must be real bad for Romney and the GOP as a whole. This morning the media is spinning…angry at our President…
NYTIMES has headlines about Independent vote being a hurdle for Obama blah blah blah (as usual their cherrypicking of select polls while summarily dismissing others that don’t allow them to push their anti-Obama narrative).
None of Romney’s serious problems is the major headline – even though now it looks increasingly probable that he LOST the IOWA caucus and has major problems with offshore investment accounts. I’ve noticed a predictable trend in the media – when things are going badly for the GOP, find one item about PBO that could be spun as negatively as possible and turn it into a headline. I guess NYTimes though the Kantor story would have given them fodder for the next 5-6 months, but obviously they wrong about that.
Or a bullshit poll. This is my point, too!
It’s pushed by the powers that be, it’s evident they got to bed at night saying, how can we win the narrative tomorrow?
Yup yup!
It’s kind of Eeerie knowing that Morning Joe set is where Robert E Lee had his HQ.
And it is where they announced the secession of SC in 1860!
Is msnbc serious?
The Bangladesh army says it has foiled a coup planned against the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Military spokesman Masud Razzaq said in a statement that the attempt had been thwarted by the “whole-hearted efforts of army soldiers”.
He said the officers planning the coup were in active military service and had “extreme religious views”.
Bangladesh has a history of military governments. The army ran the country for 15 years until 1990.
Sheikh Hasina took over power from a military-backed caretaker government in early 2009. Officials say she has since faced threats from Islamists and other radical groups.

You know, the truth is, actually, when it comes to Congress, the issue is not personal relationships. My suspicion is that this whole critique has to do with the fact that I don’t go to a lot of Washington parties and, as a consequence, the Washington press corps maybe just doesn’t feel like I’m in the mix enough with them, and they figure, well, if I’m not spending time with them, I must be cold and aloof.

PBO KNOWS WHAT HE”S TALKING ABOUT!
Smart man.
SC Obama job approval
44%!
That is good for SC! It might be in play!
It’s higher than TeaBag Gov Nikki Haley’s own approval (~36%). No wonder the media is pizzzed.
Jude Law and Lord Prescott are among the high-profile figures to receive payouts over phone hacking by the News of the World, the High Court has heard.
Actor Law received £130,000 ($200,000) and his ex-wife Sadie Frost £50,000 ($77,000) while the ex-deputy prime minister got £40,000 ($62,000).
Footballer Ashley Cole also settled for an undisclosed fee with the now-defunct paper’s publisher, the court heard.
News International said it would not comment on the agreements.
Most people pursuing damages had now settled out of court, lawyers said.

How that fifth columnist, corrupt-to-th-core punk murdock is still in ‘news’ business, beats me.
So this notion that somehow we — that the reason that it hasn’t happened is because we didn’t embrace Simpson-Bowles is just nonsense. And, by the way, if you talk to some of these same business leaders who say, well, he shouldn’t have walked away from Simpson-Bowles, and you said, well, are you prepared to kick capital gains and dividends taxation up to ordinary income…
Which is what Simpson-Bowles…
…which was what Simpson-Bowles called for, they would gag. There’s not one of those business leaders who would accept a bet. They’d say, “Well, we embrace Simpson-Bowles except for that part that would cause us to pay a lot more.”
HAHAHAHA PBO IS KILLIN THEM!
I posted the exact same tweet! You funny!
seconds matter, jovie. 🙂
via nyt, the latest polls have newter neutering willlard.

Weekly claims drop wasaaay down to 352k.
Amazing drop!
But But what about the seasonal hiring…lol, Morning Jovie 🙂 Hey is that SC poll new? There was a poll a while back that had the prez’s approval higher than Haley’s and they tried to cast doubt on it.
PPP poll shows Colbert with the highest favorable numbers in S.C. Repub race—–at 36%, or, as he described it, “more than half”.
Woooooooooooooooooooot!!!!!
willard (and the establishment) stealing Iowa goes international. Fight back ricky, you lil scum.
Iowa’s Republican caucuses are reportedly to be certified as a split decision between Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney because of missing data.
Former Massachusetts Governor Romney was declared the winner of the 3 January presidential nominating contest by eight votes.
But the Des Moines Register says a new count puts Santorum ahead by 34 votes.
However, results are missing from eight precincts. The Romney campaign said in a statement it was a “virtual tie”.

Morning Joe was yelling about the evils of teachers unions in SC, and a guest informed him SC does not have teachers unions. Joe really does his homework, and his wife is from SC. He is the type of person who is supposedly informing the country of our condition.
Bill everytime Joe says something….I always go back to this clip
I just heard that there was a recount for Iowa and Romney Lost by 34 points 🙂 did anyone else hear that?
wish it were 34 points, libra. 🙂
The fucker stole the election by 34 votes.
http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/01/19/145438857/report-iowa-recount-puts-santorum-ahead-by-34-votes-result-unresolved
there will be confirmation later today by the GOP
Yes, and the GOP is calling it a “split decision”.
Media on an all out anti-Obama tear this a.m. The Today Show after allowing Newt to lie and lie about Obama had Peter King!!! as a guest to describe how aghast he is that the Obama admin. leaked super secret classified info to HOLLYWOOD!!! about OBL’s demise for the upcoming movie about same. King said he was going to launch this big investigation which he was obligated to do against anyone who is “aiding the enemy”. Matt Lauer nodded in response. Sickening.
Yes, I woke up this morning to the NYTIMES headline about PBO losing “Independent” voters. I knew this was some Bullshyte and that there was probably horrible things going on with the GOP, and hence the attempts to distract us.
Good old reliable New York Times, “Bullsh*t”
THEY CANT STAND THE FACT THAT THEIR RACE AINT GONNA BE EXCITING CUZ PBO WILL MOP THE FLOOR!
