I agree with you. President Obama trust Joe Biden, and he trust the President . The families are close. First Lady Obama and Dr. Biden are friends also. So Joe Madison, Doug Wilder, Robert Reich and any other who are pushing this piece of crap of Hillary replacing VP Biden, you might as well put it to rest.

I just heard about this, here. I don’t recall Joe Madison pushing Hillary before. I had always thought that fully supported President Obama. And, I’ve always liked him. Of course, when it comes to President Obama, that is where I draw the line.

          I fully support President Obama.

I am slowly catching on to the games of people who crave media attention. They know the media is anti-President Obama. So, all they need to do is manufacture criticism that has nothing to do with anything the President has done. Or, if that’s not enough, they feel that they have to tell the President what he needs to do to retain his base. Never mind the fact that they know absolutely nothing about the President’s base, which, by the way, has remained steadfast in supporting him. If all that fails they come out with headline grabbing predictions that are purely based on fantasy. What a shame that a supposedly reputable economist would resort to fantasizing in order to attract media attention. What an even more absolute tragedy for Americans that our so called 4th estate would chose to headline such fantasies instead of examining real problems facing the country.

I agree with You N7, this all about nothing, . The poll say’s Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton are the best in the world. People hate to mention the presidents Cario speech which started the Arab Spring because PBO and Hillary executing a policy they discussed together are now seeing the fruits of their labor. No other President or Sec. of State have ever had this kind of world that we have and they are doing an excellent job. Hillary for ( Nobel Peace Prize)

I really like Joe Biden. If, in 2008, President Obama was not running, I would have voted for Joe Biden over all the other Democratic presidential candidates. When President Obama selected Joe Biden as his VP, my respect for him really hit the roof. I have the uttermost respect for Hillary Clinton who has done a marvelous job as SoS. But, I don’t think she would have had the President’s back the way VP Biden has, especially with Bill hovering around in search of media attention. Besides VP Biden, there is, of course, Dr. Jill Biden! Her passion for education and her teaming up with the First Lady to champion the interests of our military and their families is unprecedented! So, Robert Reich can do all his fantasizing about Hillary as VP. For me, I already have my campaign buttons of President Obama and VP Biden. I even have my “Cup of Joe” sent to me in honor of my subscription on his birthday!

OBAMA-BIDEN ALL THE WAY! BEST TEAM EVER!

        • December 31, 2011 at 2:15 am

CO-SIGN, Nath! We have never had such a competent group of people as the Obamas and Bidens working together for us in Washington. They also model true “family values” ethical and moral behavior for our young people. I will also add that I never want to see Billy within spitting distance of the WH again! He has so been totally on my last nerve. Hillary just lost her mother and has to be grieving but doing her best to carry on. She wants a rest and maybe a grandchild to hold in her arms.

I am so glad to see this pushback from the TOD family on this. This new meme is GOP enabling and really disrespectful to PBO and VP Biden.

PBO chose VP Biden for several reasons- his political experience, his long service in the Senate which allowed him to liase with Congress (resulting in getting Mr Arlen Specter to come over), negotiating with the Senate and House , all of his foreign affairs experience and personal knowledge of foreign leaders, conflicts and issues his honesty and little baggage.I do not think that Mrs Clinton would have been able to help President Obama with Congress or the wars in the first two or this year like VP Biden has.

Having Mrs Clinton as VP may work electorally but the resulting chaos ,manufactured and other scandals not just about her but especially about former President Clinton and his global initiative funding and associates and not least the people surrounding them would not assist in a second term . Additionally they may try to push an agenda not in keeping with that of PBO and say he is beholding to them for winning and needs to implement it and if he does not , fight and block him at every turn.

I think it is better that PBO fight and win or lose on his on terms , record and obvious competence, brilliance and vision with VP Biden.

          December 31, 2011 at 9:33 am

          Very interesting points cricket.

I have to say though that I’m not even sure Hillary would be an asset electorally. I think Joe Biden is stronger with blue collar workers and with independants, and with people who unconsciously need a traditional “daddy” figure on the ticket.

The only problem with Joe is that the MEDIA is less excited by him than they are by Hillary Clinton. The way the media didn’t cover Joe in 2008 was OUTRAGEOUS, given all their obsession about Sarah Palin.

This time, all democrat activists should push back against the media blackout and demand equal treatment of the vp candidates. But anyway, if the national media isn’t fair, I have no doubt that in every place where Joe Biden will campaign, he will receive local media coverage, which may be more important.

    Must Read..http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2011/12/30/video-dear-gop-this-is-who-you-trust-and-admire-really/

I listened today as Chris Matthews ticked off reasons why people would vote against President Obama in November. They included “voting against the guy who is the source of all the divisiveness.” And by “the guy” they mean President Obama, not the GOP guy(s) and gal(s) who obstructed him at every turn and who thought it should be Priority One to make him a one term president. That’s right, Matthews opined that people would vote against the president in order to avoid future rancor against… the president.

He also listed the rabid anti-Obama types, of course, as well as the independents who will swing back to voting Republican, plus the disaffected, disappointed Dems who will either vote against him by voting for someone else or not vote at all. In addition, there are fewer new voters who, as was the case in 2008, would be compelled to vote for that brand new, exciting candidate (because there are none); and let’s not forget the disenfranchised.

    • 35 Obama Grandmama
      December 30, 2011 at 9:19 pm

I hope someone into tweeting will let Matthews know that his assessment only encourages that type of behavior in voters. If you have a guy trying to support you against the people who are against you why ignor him and go for the enemy? That makes me think of a battered wife staying with the abusive husband instead of making things better. How in this case do you make it better? You replace the bad guys and support the good guy. You don’t go along with the bad guys so you can have quiet letting them do whatever they want to do.

DF, Chris Matthews is like Willard Romney, he changes with the wind. As hard as I have tried, I still don’t know what Chris Matthews stands for. Today he may be a Mitt Romney guy; the next day he is probably on Rick Perry’s bandwagon; then he is for Newt Gingrich; then sometimes he is back to claiming that he supports President Obama although, most of the times, everything that comes out of his mouth is anti-Obama. As I said, Chris Matthews has no core! To begin with, he is not a journalist. Secondly, when it comes to politics he goes with the wind. That is because he has this overwhelming desire to be liked and approved by the media establishment. Given his mediocrity, he is indeed a perfect fit for the MSM whose goal is to keep the masses ignorant and confused.

In other words, let’s get rid of President Obama because he just by virtue of being in the White House forces us to (unprovoked) do, say and respond to him in ways that expose us for the blatant racists we are…

      We can’t have that…

Much prefer to get back to the good old days when we could comfortably hide our conscious, subconscious racial prejudices and biases…

Pat an odd black guy on the back or sponsor some poor African kid @ 50 cents a day and feel so good about our colorblindness…

Dealing with the blowback that comes with constantly disrespecting and negatively stereotyping the brilliant President that happens to be of color…that’s just so inconvenient…

If we don’t quickly replace this President Chris Matthews fears that he or one of his merry klan friends at Morning Joe might just let the N word slip publicly one of these days…

Right now, I am sipping my tea from my “Cup of Joe” sent to me in honor of his birthday! VP Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden are the real deal! O.K., this is the last time I will dignify Robert Reich’s idiocy. Professor Reich better stick to economics and leave presidential politics alone because he has absolutely no clue. Some one should tell him that the PUMAs are not the President’s base. If I remember correctly, many PUMAs, including Lady de what’s her name, supported John McCain! Remember how that turned out, Robert!

My eyes are filled with tears, so forgive if I make typos … I love both of them and as a team, I think they are really something special. They seem to have forged a relationship that goes beyond their roles as President and Vice-President; they look like best friends! Then there is the icing on the cake, which is the relationship/partnership that Michelle and Jill have forged and the team effort of theirs to help the families of our military. We have four very intelligent, very capable, very caring people in the White House right now who are working diligently for every one of us … God help us, you gave us them, now please help us support, protect, and keep them there! I fell in love with Joe Biden soon after he was picked to be VP. The only thing that would disappoint me is if PBO drops Biden for Clinton (which will never happen in a million years and that’s what I love about the President). PBO isn’t near-sighted/impatient/highly misinformed/clueless like 90% of Americans. PBO and the VP are friends and they work great together and the VP has been doing a hell of a job focusing on the middle class and the troop withdrawal in Iraq. PBO and VP are going to be friends till one of them dies.

And I don’t mean to tear down the Clintons because Democrats shouldn’t stand around and shoot at each other but I’m starting to dislike them more and more. I’m ready for the Clinton reign to end, they’ve had their time and now it’s over but Bill’s ego and their fans won’t let it go.

Someone just last week stated that PBO and BC had “buried the hatchet”, that BC was going to stump for his re-election. The announcer sounded joyous, as though he’d be watching BC running all over again. I have to say it, maybe until I am blue, but the problem these people have with PBO is that he is not white. It’s just that simple. With all of his accomplishments, there is no way a white man would encounter all this nonsense. No way in hell. I’m still waiting for someone to prove me wrong on this.

  19. December 30, 2011 at 9:45 pm

background: Don Cheadle wrote that he was ‘ disappointed’ in the President. That he wasn’t ‘gangster’ enough.

    Here is a twitter response:

    ………………………..

    Gail Leach (@Pnthrgrlgail)
Posted Friday 30th December 2011 from Twitlonger

Study history , Mr. Cheadle. Change has never come through “seismic shifts”. Not the end of slavery, not the end of Jim Crow. Change has come through clear and steady leadership and continuing to move forward even when others throw every blockade in your way. Our President has done that. Steady, clear-eyed leadership that never loses sight of the big picture and never gives the opposition the satisfaction of reverting to the negative stereotype of a “gangster”. See while being “gangster” to you involves seeing the President of the United States behave as a thug, “gangster” for me is about seeing him go to the Republican retreat in a televised exchange where he intellectually and rhetorically handed out a beat down that has the Republicans even to this day not willing to engage him again in the same forum.

“Gangster” for me is seeing the President of the United States get through the repeal of DADT, the START Treaty and the debt ceiling compromise all the while holding none of the winning cards but just through his sheer will and us. Of the bully pulpit get it done. “Gangster” for me is the President of the United States when faced with the loss of Senator Kennedy’s seat to Republican Scott Brown didn’t give up the fight to pass the Affordable Care Act. He fought harder, he got it passed. “Gangster” for me is seeing the President Of the United States stand before a crowd of grieving people whether it be from a gunman’s mad rampage against his fellow soldiers, a crazed gunman’s rampage that killed 6 people including a nine year old girl and injuring a Congresswoman, or the fury of Mother Nature and give comfort to the multitude. “Gangster” for me is the President of the United States standing in front of a roomful of reporters giving a comedy routine scorching the man that questioned his citizenship while all the while knowing he’d given the order to take out Osama bin Laden.

“Gangster” for me is having a President of the United States that uses the retort” Ask Osama bin Laden” when questioned about his bona fides as a Commander in Chief. So I say to you, Mr. Cheadle, “ask Osama bin Laden” if President Barack Hussein Obama is “gangster”.

PS. Hard to put people in the financial disaster in jail when what they did wasn’t illegal as so eloquently explained by President Obama on 60 minutes.

Who knows…perhaps he is pizzed about some perceived slight – usually something petty lies at the root of these media appearances and announcements of “disappointment” in our President. Usually the critic is actually disappointed about something they wanted personally from the President but didn’t get. Like an invite to a party, etc..

I agree. It seems everyone thought they were going to be hanging out at the Whitehouse everyday shootin’ the breeze with the Prez. Hello! He has work to do and did not come to D.C. for foolishness. It reminds me of the first time I was promoted to management, many of my friends tried to take advantage of me because of our prior relationship and would come in late, not do their work, call in sick or take long lunches. Your “so-called friends and wannabe’s” are always looking for you to “hook them up”, without any regard for how it might hurt you in your new job. I lost a lot of friends because they put me in the awkward position of having to choose them or my job. I did not choose them and neither has PBO.

Of course you know I’m not comparing myself to PBO but I think you get my point.

I think your point is very true. I do think alot of people who supported Pres. Obama did so wanting change, but not really understanding that “change” meant things would be different, from the WH on down to the American people. That’s why synchophants like Greenwald quickly turned against him, along with the likes of Chuck Todd, on down to Rachel Maddow. I think they just expected the kind of perks the Bush gave his cronies, and when PBO did not conform, but actually produced change, they didn’t like it. That’s why they are so virulently against him now.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about. I think the CBC thought, “Hey, we got a brother in the Whitehouse, he’s gonna hook us up,” and were shocked to discover PBO does not play that game. And why would he bend over backwards for people who did not support him anyway? The CBC were mostly Hillary supporters and would be running their mouths all over town. He was not going to damage himself, his reputation or his administration with that kind of obvious cronyism.

I saw a billboard today for some movie or tv show that had Cheadle on the cover. I wonder if he was using the tried and true strategy of “bash President Obama – get publicity”, a la Matt Damon. Curious that Damon decided to attack the President right before both movies. They both don’t have anything to lose and all the more money to gain under GOP leadership, so it’s extremely offensive when they discourage people with their unfounded criticism, but don’t lift a finger to help make things better. Why can’t they use their influence for good?

Mr. Cheadle wrote a long tweet as well explaining himself. He is a very solid Pres. Obama supporter, I think he just got lazy with his language and is frustrated that changes we all know we need are not happening fast enough. He made a mistake, but if he is who we have to worry about. He didn’t run from folks on twitter and I respect that.

      • December 30, 2011 at 11:11 pm

I agree with you but these celebs who support Pres.Obama should know better. If its a negative comment it will bounce all over the political world and in news segments. Supporters like Cheadle aren’t helping. Not asking for total obedience but what exactly do these comments accomplish? Is President Obama going to adjust his entire agenda and who he is at his core because Matt Damon and Cheadle says he wasn’t man enough? What kills is that these guys have ACCESS. Keep your complaints to yourself or be “gangsta” enough and have the ‘balls’ to say it to Pres.Obama’s face in private.

It is in this regard that the Republicans have bested us time and time again. They know that the presidency is a relatively weak position and a relatively easy position to take pot shots at. That is why they have been working tirelessly (not even behind the scenes) to use everything they can use against him. The ACA that was a rip off of a republican idea to increase healthcare for all folks, they twisted into a bad thing. The states (run by the reds) are refusing to implement the law because the know it will improve people’s lives. They got all purple state to go red, because they realize that there is no national apparatus for electing presidents, but rather a state by state process. Unfortunately, the DOJ whose job it is to help police ballot restricting laws, got into the game too late to undo the damage already done by these republican governors. SO when someone like Don Cheadle, is complaining about the president, it shows that he is not looking at the big picture in regards to the “changes” he so desperately wants to see.

You bet, that in 2014 when the complete set of the ACA rules begin to take positive effect, the republicans will be claiming credit for all the goo it is doing. They make me want to scream with all their duplicitousness. IF Don cannot see this then he is not as smart as I thought he was. Everything that Pres. Obama is doing that is good, 4 years from now, R’s will be taking credit for it… mark my words!

These superficial celebs are working my last nerve. The harsh reality is that average citizens have a lot more at stake in 2012. I find it revolting that Cheadle would be so thoughtless and immature. I also find it disturbing that Jet would publish such drivel. Cheadle has enough money to get a refresher course in 8th Grade civics or at least have the common decency to use Google- there are three branches of government, all with distinct roles, the entire American government system is predicated on checks and balances. I also abhor and wholeheartedly reject the idea of the President being gangsta, what sublime idiocy. Because the president’s black he has to be gangsta. The president is astute, articulate, balanced, warm, sensitive, thoughtful, and a masterful negotiator. His words damages the credibility of the president who rely on Jet for journalism, and to foster apathy among minotrity voters, the primary readers of Jet, prior to a monumental election is just ignorant. He needs to go SIT DOWN and next time THINK before he SPEAKS. I also hate when people very publicly denounce someone and very privately apologize and recant their statements. Tweeting does not have the same platform as Jet, and the demographic is completely different.

Wow, who needs distractors when you have supporters like these?!!?! The president is an easy target because he carries himself with decorum and class. He attempts to give people the benefit of the doubt. He forges ahead with his plan and does not take the time to massage his ego in public. I also truly beleive the president is a self-actualized person and does not permit himself to be defined by what people say. People go all in on him all the time. Whereas with the Right, they have a corporate funded heartless machine that goes after any and everyone who dares speak against them. They are vile and nasty – nothing is sacred or honored. They talk about the president’s wife and his children. They post fake pictures of the president asassinated, they represent him as a monkey, they are disgusting.

Yet, Mr. Cheadle goes after the president. He is a dim witted coward.

        RANT OVER.

Ok, I got this from Desertflower in the other thread.

Mittens, hard at work trying to be like a “normal” person:

”I saw the young man over there with eggs Benedict, with hollandaise sauce. And I was going to suggest to you that you serve your eggs with hollandaise sauce in hubcaps. Because there’s no plates like chrome for the hollandaise.” -Mitt Romney at a New Hampshire diner, speaking to the owner.
it’s actually a pretty good pun, but he delivered it like a robot.

I’ve read this about 5 times, Am I wrong to not get what the hell he said?

    • December 30, 2011 at 9:51 pm

“chrome for the hollandaise” is a play on home for the holidays—-worst fricking joke ever. What a major doofus! 🙄

    • December 30, 2011 at 9:56 pm

It’s so dumb and corny it’s hard to get, believe me. The last line is a play on “There’s no place like home for the holidays.” The whole hubcap thing with hollandaise sauce to get to that line is not just a stretch but dumb.

      • December 30, 2011 at 10:26 pm

It also sounds like something Romney practiced over and over again so he could use it the first time he spotted someone eating eggs benedict. Because, really, who talks like this and who wants to hear idiotic drivel when they’re eating. I think every single thing he says has been practiced in front of a mirror. He’s not sure when to use these one liners, so he stumbles into a situation and blurts them out. Pathetic.

Maybe it will change with more confidence gained on the campaign trail but at this point everytime I see Romney his face has a fake smile on it, his voice is quavering, and his eyes plead fear. His body language gives him away and you can see it on the tapes of the debates when he puts his hands on Perry’s shoulder, bets him $10,000, and in the famous leg crossing interview.

I always thought that Peck played Atticus so well because he deep down understood Finch very well, and finally, PBO and Joe are like Rhett and Scarlett (even though the movie ended the way it did, Scarlett and Rhett are made for each other. No matter how far away Rhett ran, we all know that he eventually found his way back to Scarlett and Tara because that’s where he belongs,no matter what.) Oh Lisa, I love, love your matchups. Cheese puffs and cherry coke? I never tried it, but if you say so. All this talk about replacing Biden is a shiny (and cheesy) bauble that dull-witted pundits are trying to dangle in front of Democrats to distract their attention and waste their psychic energy. They got nothing to talk about. The R candidates are dolts. The president ended the year on a true high note. He’s on vacation and there’s no “real” controversy right now. People are getting ready for the bowl games and stocking up on snacks and I personally think they are sick to death of hearing endless talk about political races. So “pundits” are trying to stir the pot with made up stuff that they think will get people tuning it. They haven’t the slightest concern about the impact on the country anymore than they have the smallest interest in actually digging up facts. It’s a farce and a fraud and we should save our energy for the real crises that will start hitting us again when the numnuts get back to Congress.

You’re right, Carolyn. I think this relationship is unique in history. I think most Pres/VP relationships have been one of tolerance because the VP was chosen for political reasons or payback for support. Also a lot of VPs can’t wait to undercut their president in order to position themselves for their own runs. Obama/Biden is the real, dyed-in-the-wool deal.

Yes. Can you imagine how bad off we would be in the US and the world if that skank John Edwards had won? Or even got the VP position he was angling for with all his maneuvering between Clinton and Obama after he dropped out? Imagine dealing with the scandal coming out after the election? It would have been a HUGE distraction and loss of moral standing for POTUS and everyone around him.

I’d forgotten all about Edwards, I never was drawn to him.. to oily for my tastes. I loved Joe for his work in the senate, I watched him most of my life- and appreciated him a great deal.. and of course Barack Obama had me pushing for his presidency when he gave his 2004 speech. They are the best possible team and I absolutely cannot wait to see what they do next.. 2012 is gonna be amazing methinks.

  32. December 30, 2011 at 11:05 pm

OT: What is the obsession by Dems on the internet with this guy named Glenn Greenwald? I have never read so much angst and anger and snark about a person that I have never heard, seen or read. I think he’s just another blogger, right? This is inside “inside baseball” and kind of a waste of time, no?

    • 225 hopefruit2
      December 30, 2011 at 11:07 pm

Greenwald is a Libertarian Republican Koch Shill who pretends to be a “lefty” and who has a disturbing and obsessive hatred of President Obama. The Dems are not obsessed with Greenwald, they are simply calling him out on his numerous lies about the President and his misrepresentation of himself on the net.

      December 30, 2011 at 11:11 pm

Seems like it to me, forus50. He is a no name to me, and the little bit of hot air I have heard coming from his tiny brain leaves me very disinterested. Sometimes I think they give these no counts more air time than they warrant, puffing them up as if they have credibility. Thanks, but no, I have much more serious stuff to deal with in my life, and my work with the elderly,

    • December 30, 2011 at 11:12 pm

Honestly Forus, this creep is well worth going after – he’s a Firebagger/Professional Left God who’s never off the TV, Rachel Maddow and Cenk Uygur are among his biggest fans. He calls us cultists but his followers are waaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond cult-like! He despises the President to a point several miles beyond rational …. I have my theory to explain it all, but I’ll behave. He’s now promoting Ron Paul, trying to get disgruntled ‘progressive’ Democrats to oppose PBO. He’s a complete fraud, a guy who has worked for Charles Koch’s Cato Institute and who has written some inflammatory right wing bile in his time – he needs to be exposed, time and time again.

Thank you Chips, and we ALL recall when he compared our good BWD to a Nazi. That was totally vile, disgusting and uncalled for, and most importantly untrue. Like you, I too have my theory about his disturbing obsessive hatred with PBO and his supporters, but I will behave on this lovely New Year’s Eve eve.

      • 230 L3
        December 30, 2011 at 11:58 pm

What’s your theory? Just give me a hint.

        • December 31, 2011 at 12:44 am

Hi L3, there’s nothing original at all about my ‘theory’, I just believe GG belongs to that extreme wing of the gay community – that includes Dan Choi – that is manically hostile towards African Americans. I wasn’t even aware of that wing until the time of Prop 8 when I read endless bile directed towards AAs at Democratic Underground by these very people – who, incidentally, seemed to conclude that BHO was a homophobe the very first time they set eyes on him. Curious. Their venom towards him, even before he had a chance to ‘fail’ them, was just extraordinary.

Read this post at Hoo’s Left:

          http://emiliawahoo76.blogspot.com/2011/12/mr-sock-puppet-throws-adolescent-hissy.html

Note the respect and trust GG placed in Bush, because he was ‘his’ President.

Contrast that with the venom he spews all over PBO day in, day out – the contempt is startling. He even once referred to him as the ‘so-called Professor’, echoing right wing stuff disputing he was ever a professor in Chicago.

If Greenwald exhibited similar contempt for Bush I’d say that’s just his thing, but, again, read that Hoo’s Left post. He opposed Bush in the end, having supported his wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but I don’t believe he ever quite displayed that personal venom. His blind hatred – and it really is hatred – for PBO just sizzles, he can hardly contain it. Note, too, how he talks about Bush “supporters” …. and Obama “cultists”. Again, Teabagger-speak. It reveals so much.

But GG, of course, has deep right wing roots, his past blog posts on illegal immigrants would do Bachmann proud, and his work for Charles Koch’s CATO Institute tells us all we need to know about his leanings.

But, yeah, I’ll say it, I think Glenn Greenwald is racist to his core, and that’s what this is all about. There are plenty of genuine ‘progressive’ writers out there who are hugely critical of PBO’s actions, but I don’t believe for one minute that Greenwald is one of them – his seething obsessive irrational contempt for PBO is something different. And his ever-increasing support for Ron Paul, ramped up a notch or two since the racism charges, has been a sight to behold. He’s even prepared to overlook the homophobe allegations, there’s just something about Ron he loves.

I read this earlier…Emilia is so good,. I had no idea about the support he had for Bush…..!

Oh yes, he is a racist, an ugly racist. His hatred is so deep.
There’s no difference to me between him and Dan Choi,.

He has been calling President Obama ”Dear Leader” from day one.

Such disrespect, so much hatred, hatred for the supporters of the President, he’s always calling them names, the cultists.
He’s always fighting with someone on twitter.

A real psycho if you ask me.

It’s not normal behavior. But unfortunately Maddow, Chris Hayes and the rest of them are big fans. It’s disgusting. I want to break something when I see his face on tv, I changed channel right away, he’s vile,.

              December 31, 2011 at 9:46 am

I don’t know how you could read that into my question because it’s not that I was unaware that Greenwald hated PBO, it was that I was interested in Chip’s theory that in her initial comment she seemed reluctant to say which made me think she knew something that I did not know or had not heard. I was aware of the racial angle but thought she knew about some other reason.

I love that the campaign has decided to laugh at this. I got my mug this week. It’s sitting next to my “cup of Joe” mug. Every time the President’s supporters or the campaign draw attention to this birther nonsense now, it is a positive for us because it makes the GOP look ridiculous and reminds people of the total demolition of Trump at the WHCD. Which then provides an opening for bright eyed and attentive Dems to throw in the observation that it happened on the same weekend of the Bin Laden mission.

I love the birther issue now that it has turned into ammunition for us. (although it was driving me crazy up until the President played the slam dunk). Like so many other things that I don’t get at the time the President has handled this wonderfully. He waits until the time is right and then drops the bomb. So cool…..

So after some uproar, I heard Kelly Clarkson tweeted that she didn’t mean to offend anyone, she like Ron Paul because he believe in small government. That speaks volume of Ms. Clarkson right there, it doesn’t matter that Ron Paul is a racists, that he hate gays, and not to fun of Israel, he believes in small government so she will just overlook those other things. I want Ms. Clarkson to read some of those newsletters with Paul name on them, then come back and tell us how could she support someone with beliefs like that. Unless they are her beliefs too.

    • December 31, 2011 at 12:03 am

I’m already tired of Kelly Clarkson – the fact that she endorsed someone without finding out the very widely known facts about him tells me loads. I haven’t thought of the woman in years, and I plan to go back to not thinking about her. Given that she was waiting tables and sleeping in her car only a few years ago – one would think she could remember about people who actually need help and are working hard. A clear case of fame going to her head. Done.

I believe it. Celebrities, just like many other Americans, can be deeply stupid when it comes to actually understanding government, their representatives, and how legislation works. Me personally, I like to identify the morons to weed out. And I do consider anyone blabbering about “small government” to be a moron, because they usually get incoherent when you attempt to explain to them exactly what a life of “small government” would actually be like.

Ok everyone, I need good thoughts sent my way. My wife and I are embarking on being puppy parents, and I’m quite ready to admit that I’m more than a bit freaked out, as I know nothing of dogs. I sometimes tend to overreact; I was this way when I was switched from being a government documents librarian to a children’s librarian; pretty quickly, I came to love working with the kids and acting the fool. My rational mind knows this puppy adventure will be the same, but all the same the alarms are blaring. Whew. Probably won’t be on at all tomorrow, as we’re prepping and then having a NYE party, so I wish everyone a happy, prosperous, and wonderful New Year.

Relax and you will do just fine if you both remember that you are now the “Alpha Dogs” in your pack. Good Luck ♥

    • December 31, 2011 at 2:41 pm

Dogs are happiness and hopefulness, covered in fur. The only hard thing about raising a puppy is that they might make a mess, so let your house be a disaster for a few weeks, enjoy the cutie, and soon you will wonder how you ever lived without a dog.

I’m sick and tired of all these PUMAites who keep pushing this rather idiotic theory of HRC for VP in 2012. I think they’re either deaf or just plain mischeivious. First of all, HRC has been asked a million times and she has answered a miliion times that she has no interest in political office once she’s done with this term as SOS.
Secondly, PBO has already said publicly and VPB has acknowledged publicly that they’re both running on the 2012 ticket together…and besides why would the OFA spend their time, energy and resources making Obam/Biden campaign materials, if all the while a change of running mate is in the pipeline?.

I find all this disrespectful to Mr Biden, especially knowing how hard he has fought standing side by side with the President to achieve all that have been achieved these past 3 years. Besides he has always been a wise councel to the President and their relationship was borne out of a genuine respect for each other even before they ran on the same ticket in ’08 – and this has solidified into a genuine friendship that transends the political and has bonded the Obama and Biden families in such a way that most astute political observers/historians acknowledge has not been seen in a very long time between a President and his Vice.

PBO has never been one to throw Hail Mary passes just for political convenience….see how well it worked for McCain in ’08 by choosing Sarah Palin as his VP. In as much as HRC has been an outstanding SOS, PBO knows exactly that such a move will be interpreted as cynical and seen as an acknowledgement that he is desperate…and we know this President doesn’t do cynicism or desperation.

So I was rather disappointed to watch Joe Madison on PoliticsNation join this PUMA bandwagon. To him, Robert Reich, Joan Walsh and all others pushing this Hilary for VP crap, I say…go f**k yourselves , that ain’t gonna happen! Like Rev Al said, why fix something if it ain’t broken?.

All the GOP have in their nasty vile arsenal is the ‘d and d’ weapon of distractions and divisiveness. They love to shit stir ..and they get away with it by
    a) saying outlandish things,
    b) doing oppressive and restrictive actions,
    c) stirring up racism,
    d) drop in ever so casually some inciendiary remark that they insincerely apologise for after the damage is done,
    e) try to appeal to patriotism by reminding of who is for, or who likes America more. etc,
In other words stir up anything that will keep them front and centre. They have had this masterplan since the inauguration, that is, hammer away negatively every day at the WH and the Prez, and hopefully something will stick, simply because that is who they are and that is what has worked before. And it works because the pundits fall for it, it gives fodder to the bloggers, and commenters turn on each other.
Hopefully as we lead into 2012 we folks who understand the dynamic will not waste so much time gnashing our teeth on ‘them’ but pro-actively deal with whatever is presented swiftly and victoriously.
O/T Hey Ms Chips, is a wish list for 2012 too corny?

I have been through with the Clintons since 2008. I felt they were both disrespectful to Obama in ways that are indefensible. However, I must say that HRC has handled herself so graciously and has only spoken of the president in uncompromisingly glowing terms. Yet, just because you don’t drive the car does not mean that it’s okay to sit in the passenger side and go along for the ride. I feel Mr. Clinton is out of line. I somehow get the feeling that tricky Bill feels the need to vindicate his wife’s name and encourage what I hope is her long abandoned political aspirations. Yet, the man that has dishonored and disrespected Bill’s wife the most is him.

  56. December 31, 2011 at 6:40 am

As I recall, I think HRC herself said she was not going to run again and not coming back as Secretary of State. So if we heard it from the horse’s mouth then we shouldn’t be listening to the donkeys that are braying this nonsense.

CLINTON IS TIRED AND SHE WANTS HER PRIVATE LIFE BACK! JOE AND PBO ARE A PERFECT MATCH AND WILL NOT BE SPLIT APART FOR THE SAKE OF THE STUPIDITY OF POLITICS. PBO DOESN’T PLAY THAT GAME!

LL….re the puppy……you are in for quite an adventure. I’ve lived with a dog or dogs for all but about ten years of my now long life. They enrich one’s life tremendously. We have found the two keys to training and enjoyment are love and consistency. Ours eat at the same time every day, they know what they count on. When they know that, they adapt quickly. Yes, a puppy will chew, but I found that that propensity made me a better housekeeper….I put things up and away! Which I hadn’t always done carefully before. They respond to soft words, love pats, caresses, the more they’re touched gently, the easier they bond and the better they are.
Have a great time with a new puppy……they are a lot of work now, but so worth it. I’ve noticed what a great dog Bo has become over the past years….he was almost wild when they got him, but through training and consistency he is a good companion, can fly in Air Force One and ride in The Beast! Have fun.

1′ am so happy to see 2 men of great wisdom to know how to make the other feel better then yesterday , because they still have time to try to reach all their goals they have sit out to do . . Mr. President and Vice President Biden you are the most well like dedicated men of standards that I can recall in the white house. The laughters are so real and the hugs are so comforting. I know in life we all can agree to dis – agree , but I have never seen so much compassion for one other to succeed . As, one would say “I got your back buddy “, now let’s get this country together. This experience was pre- recorded for 2 men of different race , but with the same values of the heart . God knew just what he was doing . The entire world was surprise and that was the best part . Any body that wants to be on a winning team have to call Ms. Ophra . She has the God that have been travelered to show The world that you can do all things through Christ who strength us all . Mr. President keep your head up and enjoy this moment . Like Fanstastia said I have waiting all my life for a moment like this and it has finally come . I wish you Mr. President ,Mr. Vice President the best year in 2012. And thank you for bring our troops home .
