    Yup. On Richard Adams blog.

Now it’s Rick Santorum: how come every other candidate has at least had a spot at the top of the polls, and you haven’t? “We present a clear contrast,” says Rick. The contrast being: no-one is voting for you.

They ask Michele Bachmann the same question about beating Obama. As if that’s going to happen. “Fifty-five years old and I spent 50 years as a real person and five years going toe-to-toe with Barack Obama,” says Bachmann, in a statement that is just weird.

Asked why he is so rubbish, Rick Perry claims that like star quarterback Tim Tebow – actually not a very good quarterback but he somehow still wins games – he can be better than he looks. “I hope I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucuses,” says Perry. Perry will be lucky to be the Forrest Gump of the Iowa caucuses.

If you had “Saul Alinsky radical” in tonight’s debate drinking game, then chug, because Newt just dropped that.

If you don’t know who Saul Alinsky is, join the 99% of the American population who are with you.

This is the “bash Obama” phase of the debate, in which all the candidates agree that Obama is an ineffectual, do-nothing novice president who is destroying the country.

Yup, these third rate bastids of mofos got nuthin’.

Will anyone ever poll the millions of people who actually like or love the president and see where he is taking the US? I am sick of the 75% who say they believe the country is going in the wrong direction or they don’t like the president and yet in every photo we see a different President, loved by crowds of people. what’s wrong with the media and the pollsters?

      December 15, 2011 at 10:51 pm

It seems plausible that 75% of responders said the country is going in the wrong direction because so many are frustrated either at the jobs situation or at the political gridlock in Washington.

What I find simplistic, stupid, outrageous is for pundits to equate that result into a condemnation of President Obama by american voters. People are frustrated for a LOT of reasons. Many of those 75% are supportive of POTUS and know that he’s the one on their side.

      • 33 JoJothecat
        December 15, 2011 at 11:46 pm

Also, the 75% dislikes how the country is heading is due to Congress with their 9% spproval rating.

        December 16, 2011 at 12:45 am

I got polled this very question by Quinnipiac once and I took the pains to tell the pollster that I was somewhat dissatisfied with the direction the country was going, but this was in NO WAY a reflection of President Obama, whose handling of his job I approved of very much. I also told the pollster that I was concerned that the media was going to take the responses to this question and present in such a manner as to give an impression that folks are unhappy with the President. The pollster did not respond to or address my concerns, and continued with her questioning. However, I have been meaning to write a letter to each of the polling companies about what I believe is an unethical and deliberately misleading use of particular questions to form a certain narrative. This is definitely one of those questions that should be followed up with a secondary “why or why not?” or “who do you think is responsible for this?” but isn’t.

    Go Crazy-eyed Lady!

Michele Bachmann is also not convinced by Newt’s attempt to compare Freddie Mac to other “government sponsored entities” such as credit unions. And she’s right.

“We can’t have someone as our nominee someone who stands for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, they need to be shut down.”

Gingrich is claiming that what Bachmann said “is factually untrue.” But he than claims things that Bachmann didn’t accuse him of. Newt’s screwing himself here, he can’t win this one by defending something a lot of Republicans don’t like.

    Bachmann 1, Gingrich 0.

Gingrich’s is still babbling away but he’s digging a hole.

This is the danger of Newt Gingrich: give him enough rope and he will tie it around his own neck.

A more than reasonable question 😉

    • December 15, 2011 at 10:30 pm

THIS is the side of Ron Paul that’s rarely mentioned by the talking heads. Makes me wonder why anyone would hold a person like this in such high regard…(Looking at you, Rachel Maddow and company!)

“[Although] we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.”

“Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the ‘criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.”

“[B]lack males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary, and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such.”

Paul defended the newsletters’ racist content when it was first brought up by his opponent in a 1996 congressional race—standing by, for instance, charges that Democratic Rep. Barbara Jordan, the state’s first black congresswoman, was granted favorable treatment because of her race. His statements were “academic, tongue-in-cheek,” he said of the newsletters, and were not meant to be taken at face value. It wasn’t until five years later that Paul offered an alibi, claiming that the newsletters had been ghostwritten.

He would do nothing because Iran would deserve to have a nuclear weapon because they (Iran) are surrounded and they are just fighting back.

Santorum – everyone in Iran is a terrorist and they are only interested in martydom because their theology teaches them to hate the US because of who we are and what we believe in. bomb them

    Santorum is a hateful bigot

Romney – Obama is poor on protecting the country. says shrink the military. King of appeasement.

Our correspondent Suzanne Goldenberg is at the debate venue in Sioux City, Iowa, and she sends this analysis of the debate so far:

Perry has spent a little bit too much time staring slack-jawed into the camera to dispel the impression that he does not have the intellect to be president. But he did get applause for his idea for a part-time Congress, working just 140 days every two years,

Huntsman meanwhile seems to have misjudged his audience with his line about America getting screwed. That just about sums up his chances in the Iowa caucuses.

Why do they all think they have to slant their Obama coverage in this way—-had Tapper on saying something about 21 straight mo. of high unemployment has ended the enthusiasm for him and his change goals etc. etc., showed glorious moments from ’08 and then showed him looking all sad now. Barack Obama Quote O’ The Day

For while Senator McCain was turning his sights to Iraq just days after 9/11, I stood up and opposed this war, knowing that it would distract us from the real threats we face. When John McCain said we could just “muddle through” in Afghanistan, I argued for more resources and more troops to finish the fight against the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11, and made clear that we must take out Osama bin Laden and his lieutenants if we have them in our sights. John McCain likes to say that he’ll follow bin Laden to the Gates of Hell – but he won’t even go to the cave where he lives.

And today, as my call for a time frame to remove our troops from Iraq has been echoed by the Iraqi government and even the Bush Administration, even after we learned that Iraq has a $79 billion surplus while we’re wallowing in deficits, John McCain stands alone in his stubborn refusal to end a misguided war.

That’s not the judgment we need. That won’t keep America safe. We need a President who can face the threats of the future, not keep grasping at the ideas of the past.

–from Acceptance Speech at the Democratic Convention, Denver, Colorado, August 28, 2008

Have a great night, everyone! 😛

ps – I guess Mr. DD4O was a little disappointed that he missed it?

ps2 – Now that you are famous, are you auctioning your autograph? 😉

All I can say is you are brave souls to watch this freak show. Seriously, this was on national TV?
Thank you God, for President Obama.

I had a very difficult time watching just GWB alone. I know my stomach cannot tolerate this. I cannot believe that people would consider voting for these clowns. What really boggles my mind is that Cain supspends his campaign because of his numerous affairs. Newt Gangrene has had affairs throughout all of his three marriages and he is running for the highest office in the free world.

If this is right, someone please tell me what is wrong.

Hopefully this is the last debate before the caucus. It’s been pretty much overkill.

I’m not so sure Romney will have a cakewalk to the nomination. Gingrich seems to be able to bounce back just when you think he’s done. Newt is persistent, and will not let a little thing like the mainstream media being against him stop him. I wonder if Cain wishes he had stayed in…..
Romney is being shown to be such a liar….not just a flip-flopper, that I think, if he is nominated, that will stick in the general. He is writing the anti-Romney ads.
Watching him I get the same grumble in the pit of my stomach I did when trying to watch GWB.

Donna Dem, your experience inspired me to make another campaign contribution today.
Good night and sweet dreams about your most excellent day!

OFA is making a big push for donations by 12/31 which will determine resources on the ground next year. Perhaps TOD can feature group or personal fundraisers every day. If we put in for every GOP idiocy, slander, PL or media bashing, at even $1 per time the campaign would rake in money!

Six months ago I was sure Romney would be the nominee, for one thing with Republicans, it’s a matter of turn, and it’s Romney’s turn, he’s waited. He LOOKS the part….but, I’m not a Republican and cannot understand their thought patterns…..so, I’m watching and waiting now, and I think we are probably in for more surprises…..if there are no surprises, that will be a surprise:-)

My friend and mentor just posted this on facebook. She works with OFA and has met PBO. 🙂

“I was asked what to say to “disappointed” liberals…I told them about a principle that guides my life…the 80/20 rule. There is no one in my life that is 100% perfect but God. Those that I spend my time with and trust my life with have to meet the 80/20 rule. This means that they have to have 80% of the qualities that I look for in a person with the knowledge that we will disagree 20% of the time (my wife is included). Why would I hold any politician, especially the President at a standard higher than my life partner and best friends? He is not going to be perfect or match my beliefs perfectly (no one does), but we agree at least 80% of the time. The folks on the other side may reach 5%. That makes the choice easy. I ended by saying at the end of the day we have to be realistic about what one person can accomplish in a short period of time with a number of obstacles…When you compare him to the alternative and not to the almighty…the choice is easy….4 MORE YEARS!”

    I 100% agree.

Santorum has tried hard, but hasn’t done well

when asked what had happened he said”don’t ask,and don’t tell !”

On Mitty on Ricky on Ronnie on Newt, yelled Santa as his reindeer took flight

    Congratulations Chips!
I’m not sure when you reached your fundraising goal but that $8,000.00+ looks mighty fine!

I’m was notified via email yesterday that the campaign really wants us to step up our fundraising for year end. Its also the end of the quarter as well so I’ll be posting my fundraiser to try and get the campaign some help this month.

Our President is such a humble, grateful man….who can resist doing everything they can to ensure a win next year.

Thanks again TOD for helping me to get that fantabulous phone call from PBO yesterday.

Buddy Roemer on morning Joe. Here is a guy who does not even get 1% in the polls and can’t get any OWS people to show up at his rally.
And yet, he is being pushed onto the scene from somebody high up. Crimony, he is on msnbc all the time. Hmmm!

  71. December 16, 2011 at 8:20 am

Strange. I go over to the hill website, and headlines are- Obama runs rusk of overexposure with latest media blitz.

    That is bs.

They just dont want him talking about Iraq.

  72. December 16, 2011 at 8:25 am

State of Play: EPA is preparing to unveil long-awaited (and long-delayed) rules as soon as Friday that mandate cuts in mercury and other air toxic emissions from coal- and oil-fired power plants.

The heavily-lobbied rules are among the measures at the center of a political clash between Republicans who claim the Environmental Protection Agency is going overboard and a White House that caved on ozone rules but has pledged to hold the line on these protections.
