Not sure many people even care or would notice, but in case some do I want to let people know that Iām planning to stop commenting on blogs altogether in a few days. Just have a lot of things going on the work and home fronts (good stuff, thankfully!), and also want to really focus on activity with the local OFA chapter.
Iāve almost completely cut out MegaMedia ānewsā sources so will still read here a lot and maybe one or two other blogs, but Iām forbidding myself from commenting. Letās go out and win back the House and strengthen the Senate this next year, and remember kids, Only you can prevent mankini fires:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) suggested for a second night in a row on Wednesday that the Senate would be able to schedule votes in the morning on House Republicans’ pay roll tax cut extension bill, or a version of it, and the defense authorization conference report.Ā
In shutting down the Senate, Reid made no mention of the spending omnibus, apparently still in the works, or a continuing resolution that would fund the government past Friday when current funding is set to expire. The Senate adjourned at around 8:30 p.m. and is expected to return at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Some years ago I was watching TV and there were āMr. Obama and Mrs. Obamaā in Africa being tested for aids so that people there would not be afraid of the aids test and told my husband that this young couple was so impressive for the work they were doing out there. I did not know who they were nor did I know that these great two would be our first family some years later. I never knew that my husband had known of them for the longest time and was already hooked on them.
In short, these Old Latino Farts will forever love the Obama family. And this is the first time that we have financially supported directly to a politician.
We have helped by volunteering time for this and that but not financially until Mr. Obama came around. Donāt take me wrong, we do not have much but we have to reelect President Obama and if there is $1.00 in our budget to spare then it will have to go to get PHO reelected for the greater good of our country.

Your English is fine. Thanks for the comment. I don’t ever remember donating to a campaign prior to aspiring presidential candidate Obama came along. I also volunteered my time, me and a Latina woman walked in a houshing development in Indiana. It was outside out of my comfort zone, but we both felt emboldened by our passion not only for Obama but for his values and how they shape his agenda. I plan on making such efforts again. I remember the disappointment in some of the faces of the residents because they could not vote due to past convictions. I wonder if we truly believe people can be rehabilitated.

The last 4,000 American troops will withdraw by the end of the year, leaving Iraq still tackling a weakened but stubborn insurgency, sectarian tensions and political uncertainty.
“After a lot of blood spilled by Iraqis and Americans, the mission of an Iraq that could govern and secure itself has become real,” Panetta said at the ceremony.
U.S. soldiers rolled up the flag for American forces in Iraq and slipped it into a camouflage-colored sleeve.

In October, President Barack Obama signed legislation implementing free-trade deals with South Korea, Panama and Colombia. Bet you probably hadn’t heard about that. The trade deals were the biggest since NAFTA ā which President Bill Clinton signed into law after a titanic fight. Guided by his silky-smooth U.S. trade representative, Ron Kirk, Obama’s deals glided through the GOP House and the Democratic Senate. No fight, no credit.
Republicans should have adopted the same strategy on extending Obama’s payroll-tax cut. Like free trade, tax cuts are completely compatible with Republican orthodoxy. Heck, they are Republican orthodoxy. When we had a surplus, the GOP’s answer was to cut taxes. When the surplus turned into deficit (in large part because of the Bush tax cuts), the Republicans supported more tax cuts. In time of peace they argued for (wait for it) tax cuts. When we were involved in two wars, costing billions of dollars a month, then-House Republican leader Tom DeLay said, “Nothing is more important in the face of war than cutting taxes.”
How on earth did the GOP maneuver itself into a position where it is opposing tax cuts for the middle class and Obama is fighting for them?

Mitt Romney, who once hoped to land a knockout blow in January, is now bracing for a protracted months-long battle against Newt Gingrich, pointing to new election rules that make it mathematically impossible for any candidate to clinch the nomination before April 24.

The Republican National Committee adopted the rules last year to make it harder for a candidate to wrap up the nomination early. I am so tired of this cave nonsense. The main thing we were calling on Reid to do is to block the House bill which tied the payroll tax cut to the Keystone pipeline. That was accomplished. Harry Reid said no way. Anyone paying attention should know that the GOP is not going to vote for raising taxes. The Dems tried and it was going nowhere. Dems are serious about passing the payroll tax cuts and if they can find another way to fund it, let them. F- the MSM and the PL.

The effort to recall the Republican governor kicked off on Nov. 15, and organizers have until Jan. 17 to collect more than 540,000 valid signatures to force a spring recall election.
The blog New Dog Democrat reported Wednesday that more than 550,000 signatures have been collected and that organizers want to hit the 1 million mark before the deadline.

Now Lauer is quoting Cheney, asking if McCain agrees with Cheney. This is really despicable, corporate media—–only one freaking rt. wing side of the story.
