Okay, yes, I’m a teency weency bit biased, but these seven minutes are up there with my most loved from the President’s trips abroad.

Ah, the warmth of the reception …. the crowd around the 5:30 mark …  just a perfect day.

The White House version:

Thanks Symmetry

Oh, brother. I only watch a couple of shows now, but – since you mention it – nothing was covered on them, either. Shameful is a good way to describe it.

If the media does not know by now, they will really know that they are irrelevant November 2012. It is a wasteful effort to control the messaging. Messaging continues to thrive with or without them. They are a bunch of do nothings.

    Good night everyone.

But I must say that you ladies…..I do mean ladies. Can have the “wet look” photo even the Hawaii 5-O photo all you want and sit on the mat all day, if you deserve it. But this video brought tears to my eyes. When I first viewed it months ago, I was so taken in by the speech. I did not see how Our President continously kept trying to keep Michelle warm by rubbing her arm. That just blew me away. I am in love with them all over again. How could I miss that? I felt that he just wanted to embrace her, protect her, hold her. That’s love, ya’ll. Shelter her from the cold. I wondered how many Repugs would have felt freely to do that in public with their “plastic looking wives”? Not many, I am sure.

Yes, Michelle’s husband is fine. But that gesture alone said a whole lot more together with the warm inviting speech is so touching .

Wow! What a couple! What a warm welcome!
I will give your regards to the President while attending the Holiday Event on Wed. in New York……sweet sleep, my new TOD family.

That took my breathe away, LDS. How wonderful to have love and be loved like that. And as you say to be able to so freely express it? What a contrast to the cheating republicans. I said on twitter this evening Gloria Cain probably looks at stupid Herman and asks why she couldn’t have married a President Obama.

How lucky are you to be able to attend the Holiday Event. Give him a hug for me if you get a chance. (Hee hee)

It was such a incredible experience to accompany Barack and Michelle on their trip to Ireland, thanks to Chipsticks outstanding work it was as if we were actually there. I’ll never forget the warmth and beauty of the Irish people and their embrace of our POTUS and FLOTUS.
Every trip abroad is exciting, and informative…..but this one touched me probably most deeply. All thanks to our Irish ambassador Ms. Chipsticks! I am so grateful for the way she touches all of our lives, day in and day out.

    • November 29, 2011 at 1:15 am

You’re right, LDS. That hand and arm action is quite something to see. 😉 If you notice, PBO starts rubbing First Lady Michelle’s arm at about the 2:01 mark on the video and the rubbing goes on for about another four or five minutes as he is being introduced to the massive Dublin crowd admid a chilly Ireland breeze– Up and down, and up and down. Across the back, then over the shoulder . . .

During a live stream of the event here on TOD (I think), I remember someone asking why was the President rubbing Michelle’s arm like she was freezing to death. Watching the event on my computer screen — his intense hand motion and her oh so subtle facial reaction– I thought to myself: My President takes the saying “I need your love to keep me warm” to a whole another level. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Video of Brian Williams interview of Reggie Love on Rock Center show.

    • November 29, 2011 at 6:33 am

Cos, you are the best for sharing this gem because I couldn’t find this clip yesterday.. Reggie Love has a girlfriend and he made not only an impression on me but the world since this is his 2nd interview in about 2 weeks regarding such an important body man leaving. I think his impact of leaving is especially hard on me because I will miss the comfort of him not being there for the Prez.

      November 29, 2011 at 8:09 am

good clip. I know Reggie needs to move on with his life and grow. but if I had the priviledge of his body person position and proximity to this President Obama in particular, I have no assurance that I would make the same life change. something tells me that by the time 8 years are over, President Obama’s life would have taken him and his administration to places they never expected to be because of so many changes happening around the world. this kind of education from experience is something that happens once and no amount of money can buy

      Thank you Cos,

Reggie is a lovely soul, so adequately named. He speaks well of his parents and our president. I think that is why he and PBO connected because he was raised similarly to Michelle Obama when she was growing up and I think Mrs. Robinson, Mrs Obama and Mr President met a kindred spirit.

President Obama has ordered federal agencies to make wider use of digital-based record-keeping systems in what his aides promise will be the most significant change to government archiving since Harry S. Truman’s presidency.

The White House on Monday gave agency bosses four months to draft plans to improve how they archive government records, with specific government-wide instructions to follow soon after. The goal is to make federal record-keeping cheaper, faster and easier to access for Americans eager to explore government data, deliberations and decisions.

In issuing the order, Obama said the government’s archiving system “is based on an outdated approach involving paper and filing cabinets,” adding that his order would “move the process into the digital age.”

The government’s collective electronic archives top 142 terabytes of data, which far exceeds the digital archives of the Library of Congress (254 terabytes) and the more than 20 years worth of images captured by the Hubble Space Telescope (45 terabytes, enough to fill 5,800 DVDs, according to NASA.)

listenig to the teen Emma from Kansas, she seems to be informed about the cuts to education that gov b has been making and she does not like his policies one bit.

the gov’s office should not have time on their hands to fight with a teenager who made one twit. maybe if they had not reacted this was then fewer people would have heard about it but now they look silly

Now the world knows what a poor Gov. he is , the world knows about his policies and cuts and whatever the heck else he’s doing….NOT for the people. On the previous thread, Theo67 said that a journalist on Reliable Sources said: “if the press was electing the next President, then Huntsman would already be the President of the United States”.

Well flipping through the channels this morning one can see the panel on Morning Joe tying itself in knots praising backstabbing-huntsman profusely and openly routing him to raise to the top of the gop nomination.

it was pathetic so I mued it.

Next topic was to see a topic from the GoPolitico guy saying that : “Dems Flee the House” and “Dems’s hopes of retaking house fade”. the reason they gave is because of the announcement by Cong Frank that he is leaving the house. at this point, nuting was not enough so I turned MSNBC off! too much anti-Democrats garbage for one’s morning to be tainted

    • 54 donna dem 4 obama
      November 29, 2011 at 8:21 am

Its a show whose main host is a Republican. Yep, I expect this show to be anti-Democratic every single day and rarely does Joe disappoint. Occasionally he will throw Dems a bone by having a supportive guest on but 90% of his show is Republican talking points everyday.

  22. 56 utaustinliberal
    November 29, 2011 at 7:59 am

Gotta love Morning Joe (NOT) for trotting out Miss Prejudiced-In-Chief Ann Coulter “Our Blacks Are Better Than Your Blacks” to tell us that Willard Mitt Romney is the most consistent candidate she’s ever had the honor to witness. He’s also apparently the most conservative, has never flip flopped. Is 100% truthful and the best thing since sliced bread. She also said that he’s the candidate the GOP has been fervently praying for since PBO won in 2008 to kick him out of office. Geez….God must really have a wicked sense of humor if Willard is the best he could come up with to throw the GOP’s way. She also snapped at Mika; because Mika dared to point out that voters want CONSISTENCY in a candidate. Coulter said that consistency doesn’t mean a thing, isn’t worth a dime and that’s how Willard is going to beat President Obama in 2012. Methinks someone has been inhaling some messed up doobie. I guess by her logic, I can now proclaim to have found the Holy Grail in my coffee cup.

The messed up thing she did that was totally unacceptable was talk about Senator Edward M. Kennedy in a derogatory manner. She maligned him and spoke of him in a snide manner. Teddy was one of the best people out there constantly fighting for the middleclass. This just makes me hope more and more that Elizabeth Warren wins the Dem primary and cleans Scott Brown’s clocks. It’ll be a wonderful day to see the likes of scumbags like Coulter eat crow.

    • 57 hopefruit2
      November 29, 2011 at 8:17 am

HAHAHA! Ain’t that something?! These pundits and GOPers have taken flip-flopping to a whole new level. Because earlier this year at the CPAC convention, Ms. Coulter swore up and down that Chris Christie was THE one to beat PBO, and that if Romney ever got the nomination, the Republicans would LOSE! Now she’s doing a complete 180? Here she was at the CPAC:

Then late this year she decides to change her mind (flip-flop) about the Flip-Flopper-in-Chief:

The GOP and MSM are RIDICULOUS!

    • 58 utaustinliberal
      November 29, 2011 at 8:17 am

Update: Coulter also called Teddy a demon pestilence and other derogatory words which Morning Joe blurred/bleeped out. I guess they got pushback from twitter because Joe Scarborough just tweeted that he respects and misses Teddy and Teddy was there for him in a difficult family crisis when no one else was. But hey; he repays Teddy by inviting a scumbag to spew disgusting tripe about him. Stay classy Joe.

If the general American public had been able to see this visit as it happened on their television sets, with no pundits drowning out the cheers, PBO would be the most popular and beloved president right here in America today. That’s exactly why he’s NEVER visible on American TV sets. Out of sight. Out of mind. And he’s still incredibly popular! It’s just amazing. I credit sites like your’s, Chipsticks.
