Can anyone point me in the direction of Rahm Emmanuel speech in Iowa at the JJ Dinner? I have read some of the transcript and I want to see the video. I searched on CSPAN but couldn’t find it. If someone can be so kind as to post it it would be appreciated

Anyone remember the West Wing episode when CJ had to test which turkey was more “photogenic?” and that the lesser one was threatened with becoming a Thanksgiving dinner? Glad to see that nowadays it’s protocol that both the Main Turkey and his Understudy receive pardons.

This has been your West Wing/useless trivia flashback. 🙂

TOD family I need to find out about SCHIP. I have a friend who does not make a lot of money and is under insured at her job. She is a single mom, pregnant and her baby will need to be in ICU. Can she get medical help from the government just for the baby? Should she search her state family services for help?

Thank you in advance and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

WOW, what beautiful girls. Malia is just so stunning and little Sasha isn’t so little anymore. They both seemed uncomfortable to be in the limelight and looked like such normal kids!!

Barack Obama Quote O’ The Day

A vibrant nation that makes sure its children are the best-educated in the world. A healthy, growing economy that runs on clean energy and creates the jobs of tomorrow. A responsible government that reduces its deficits. An America where every citizen is able to go as far as he or she desires. We can do all this, because we’ve done it before. We’re made of the same sturdy stuff as the travelers who sat down to the first Thanksgiving, and all who came after – who worked, and sacrificed, and invested, because they believed that their efforts would make the difference for us.

    —From Thanksgiving Greeting, 2010

Have a great day, everyone! 😛

James Murdoch has dramatically quit as director of the companies that publish the Sun, The Times and the Sunday Times and analysts said he could soon sever all ties with the troubled newspaper group.

The surprise move, which has seen Rupert Murdoch’s son resign a string of directorships at News International, also raises questions about parent company News Corporation’s commitment to its newspapers.

Man, anyone that would pardon a turkey MUST hate America. I bet those daughters hate America too. JUST LOOK AT THEM! Very sinister.

Where’s their mother and their grandmother? Off somewhere destroying America? Killing turkeys?? Er, NO PARDONING TURKEYS….

AND THE DOG! YES!!! THE DOG HATES AMERICA!!! He would CHASE THAT TURKEY….Er, no he WOUDLN’T CHASE the turkey!

after just watching that clip about Mittens losing credibility on that other thread, I thought to myself: ‘does he really think he’s gonna be president of these united states?’ and it had nothing to do with his credibility or lack thereof. It was just that I realized that there is NO WAY ON GOD’s GREEN EARTH that Mitt can win honestly

haven’t seen the girls in a while. Sasha won’t be the shortest member of the family for long. She’s getting taller! Poor PBO. If he thinks he’s gray now, wait till the girls start talking about dating. hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!! 😆 😆 is it wrong that I sorta find the discomfort and angst he’s gonna be feeling when it comes to those nameless, faceless boys hilarious? I can’t help it. Oh to be a fly on the wall when that time comes! Miche is gonna have to run interference. 😆 😆

    • 61 Dave
      November 23, 2011 at 11:37 am

She’s FAR too young to even mention dating!!! Maaaaaybe in 10 or 15 years when her father is out of office….unless we amend the constituion and he’s in his 4th term, which we probably should do, so…… Yep.

      • November 23, 2011 at 11:45 am

He probably wants to put them in a convent for the rest of their lives. I can just imagine him one night after putting the girls to bed, pulling out a satchel filled with brochures for “good” convents around the world and Miche shaking her head and saying: “No way buster. My girls are gonna grow up, become successful at whatever they want to do, get married if the want and give us grandbabies if they want, so 86 on the whole convent stuff.” 😆

Remember, he’s supposed to be the smart one
    By Steve Benen

In last night’s debate, AEI’s Katherine Zimmerman asked a perfectly good question:

“The United States adopted a policy of disengagement with Somalia after its retreat following Black Hawk down. Today, an al Qaeda affiliate, Al Shabab, controls significant territory in that country.

“What can the United States do to prevent Al Shabab from posing the same threat that al Qaeda did from Afghanistan 10 years ago?”

    Credibility still matters

    By Steve Benen

On Monday, National Journal’s Ron Fournier had a piece blaming all of the relevant players — Democrats, Republicans, and President Obama — for the failure of super-committee process. Fournier’s article generated quite a bit of criticism from, among others, me.

The problem with his analysis is that Fournier drew false equivalencies, and brushed past key details, in order to push the same, tired line: “both sides” are always to blame for everything, even when the facts show otherwise.

I love Turkey pardon day because that’s when you know you’ll see Malia and Sasha! And even though Malia is so over it…she did look happy when she pet the bird…and Sasha always side-eyes the bird to see if they’ll do something outrageous, I love it. I hope they always show up for it as long as PBO is president. I also love how PBO always pardons the birds like how the Pope blesses people who comes to see him. It cracks me up every time!
