Debz, I think after that cutie in the summer that he got to stop crying, Plouffe and Ax told PBO to hug every baby he sees since they don’t cry when he’s around. I hope he takes their advice b/c it melts the heart when he’s hugging babies. πŸ™‚

The little cutie pie is rocking the heck out of them. PBO just connects with everyone; no matter what SES the individual happens to belong in. He interacts with people with a refreshing honesty.

On a Monday conference call with reporters, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) officially announced that he’ll move ahead with the first stand-alone piece of President Obama’s jobs bill this week — a $35 billion state aid measure to prevent layoffs of teachers and emergency fist responders. But he’s prepared for Republicans to stand in the way.
“I’ll bring this bill for a vote as soon as possible,” Reid told reporters, noting that the entire cost will be offset with a small fraction of the millionaire surtax Dems proposed to pay for the entire Obama jobs bill.
“As soon as possible” could be a while, if Republicans want to gum things up. The current business on the Senate floor is a so-called “minibus” appropriations bill, to fund the Departments of Commerce, Transportation, Agriculture and other departments that will run out of money in November. For procedural and Constitutional reasons, Reid can’t force a vote on the teacher and firefighter aid plan as an amendment to this approps bill — so he’s planning to move directly to it after the minibus has cleared the Senate, ideally by weeks end.
“There is no reason we cannot finish the appropriations bills before the end of the week, and have a vote on this jobs bill,” Reid said. “I am happy to keep the Senate in session as long as needed to make sure we get a vote on this jobs bill.”

WASHINGTON — Hoping to put political pressure on Republicans and provide a few sympathetic visuals for reporters, congressional Democrats are planning to host a rally on Capitol Hill this week to push a major component of President Barack Obama’s jobs plan.

A Democratic source says that on Wednesday, the party is likely to host firefighters, cops and other first responders along with teachers who face the threat of being laid off should lawmakers not send additional funds to states. Another source confirmed that preparations are underway for a rally.

I got so excited today when I saw this picture of the President in Boone, that against company policy, I emailed this page to a friend of mine. (I’m not supposed to be online at work but I needed my TOD fix. Know what I mean?) Anyway, we had been in Boone over Labor Day and shopped at that General Store. We were like kids in a candy store and I see the President is indulging his inner child, too. They also have an old fashioned Coca-Cola cooler filled with old fashioned bottles of soft drinks with old fashioned bottle caps. Great little college town in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains. I see the President got plenty of love there today.

    Thanks, Chips.

Yes, these are wonderful Chipsticks. You capture so much for our TOD family and hopefully great visitors to enjoy as well. The sharing of our time throughout the day with our wonderful President is so uplifting. Thanks to you Chips!!. He represents each of us with such excitement, beauty of spirit, a smile that lights up the entire world, and a decency of respect for those around him. We are so blessed. We have work to get done now and for 2012.

I love the baby photos with President Obama. That little man is so adorable, and it looks as though he also recognizes another adorable one, his POTUS. Love it!!!

I also thought the same about POB looking like he is enjoying all of the goodies in the store. Love our natural POTUS. What a gift we have!!

These are the beautiful photos, Chipsticks that keeps us going, no matter what we are dealing with personally. He has the world on his shoulders, and he still goes about the peoples business with a smile.

I love the way he enjoys being out and around the people. May his trip be a very successful one and may the angels of love, mercy, grace, and protection be all around him wherever he goes. Bless him, dear Father, we ask most peacefully.HZ
