PS: Tell him the more he can continue to talk with people outside Washington the better we do in terms of educating people; especially re the economic vandals (GOP). Look at the shift in voter opinion on the AJA. (Also if you talk to OFA you might recommend they talk with Chipsticks about running a well-moderated blog and community. No reason they should publish all the troll comments which just drive people away: I was an OFA blog participant on the daily basis in 2008 but have switched to TOD because it offers a supportive community which keeps the negative energy/trolls out. Proof of the community is the participation in your donation campaign.)

As for a question, I share everyone’s unease about voter suppression. One of the Obama supporters I work with suggested that volunteers in affected States start a “Help a neighbor vote” campaign by organizing rides to the places where the ID’s are issued for all those who have no transportation.

Donna, ask him if he has visited TOD and if he would consider inviting representatives from all the pro Obama websites to the Whitehouse for a Pragmatic Progressive Blogosphere Summit to develop ideas and strategies for the 2012 elections. (since the more established sites are now so hostile to he and his administration). He’s so sweet he would probably still want to include those other sites but wouldn’t it be great if he didn’t and all the new sites would be promoted instead. I would love that.

Whew! Excellent Donna. I really appreciated you making it so easy for me to donate. I learn so much from reading TOD. I’ve been a long time lurker who just started occasionally commenting this summer. You work so hard and faithfully for this President and his agenda. Congratulations!!! I can’t wait to hear all about it. My sister was able to attend the fund raiser at the Sheraton recently. She was actually able to just shake his hand and shout out “We love you Mr. President. God bless you.” She said in just that brief moment she felt that he looked at HER and she saw just as briefly seemed to connect with other folks. She laughed that she said to herself you need to let go of his hand now;) He let her take her time about it though, LOL.
I just really love that about the President and Mrs. Obama. They are people persons, and I know how much it really means for them to get out and meet folks. Mrs. O said a few times they try not to focus on the TeeVee stuff or get caught up in the polls. She talked about going out and just talking to the American people.
It reminds them every day why they are on this journey and they are energized by it I think. Some people (me ) would be drained but I think it juices our Prez up for the fight, both subtle and overtly crazy.
So enjoy your meet with President Obama and know that you will touch his life too. Mrs. Obama said he remembers the stories AND the people he meets. WooHoo!!! Don’t pass out now:)

So, here’s my question (with very short commentary) :
Medicaid helps so many, especially children with special. needs. Will the adjustments being made to Medicaid support funding for home and community based care for people with disabilities and seniors? That way, they can stay in their homes and out of institutions.
