Tony Bennett is a true AMERICAN Class Act. PERIOD. It takes one to know one, eh? 🙂

“No, he’s more than intelligent. He’s very bright, highly bright.” You have that right.
That’s one of the millions of reasons he is the best man for the job. Commander-In-Chief!

    Obama/Biden2012

I always hear this from people that have met him or know him. He is more than intelligent. More than book smart.

      • October 12, 2011 at 11:51 am

There you go! I believe PBO’s brilliance comes from his upbringing, education, experience, but most importantly his rising above EMOTIONS and working with Spirit.

We can’t rise to the top and maintain this level of brightness without recognizing, working with, and maintaining that awareness of something greater working behind the scenes in our lives. IMHO

The President’s IQ matches his EQ and his xQ and his Ď€Q (I’m making this up, as I go along) and any other Q you can throw at him!

The clueless, dull, witless talking heads must hate — and be puzzled by — the fact that they can’t make people dislike this man. He’s so out of their league, and his supporters are so unshakeable, it must drive them CRAZY.

Absolutely correct. I’ve seen more than one interview where the “journalist” tried to get the interviewee to dis the President and failed miserably.

I put “journalist” in quotes because many years ago I studied journalism in school and I don’t even recognize these dummies who are passing themselves off as journalists.

Gotta Luv Tony Bennett. Before my time, but my parents saw him in Vegas many times in the late 1960’s and early 70’s. I love this forum of TOD faithful and Chips for providing this great space. That being said it appears my year long prediction is coming true. Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee. I also predicted that he would get NO pushback or be confronted on his flip/flopping by his Teathug opponents in these debates.

I can almost gaurantee that they have made a PACT to not bloody the frontrunner up so their MAIN objective can be met and that is to destroy and defeat President Obama. It is sickening to see clips and listen to reports of the most recent debate. Mittens will waltz into the GOP nomination and be tied or ahead of PBO in mid summer of next year. I pray that the American people pay attention to what they are getting on the DARK side and vote accordingly. He will be a puppet for the Koch bros., Karl Rove, and the military industrial complex. He has mostly Bushites for his foreign policy TEAM. We will be going to WAR on another front FOLKS. I believe Mitt is more dangerous than the FANATICAL remainder of the GOP field because of his appearance and he is completey getting away with his constant policy reversals by the MSM.

Folks keep saying wait until PBO gets into full campaign MODE. The president has been campaigning since he went on this AJA tour. I have faith in our movement and the President. I just hope Democratic legislators hop on board. WE need all hands on DECK for what is to come. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!! Obama/Biden!!

Willard is toast. PBO will drink his milkshake.

We need good Democrats to run up and down the ballot so we can get a decent House and Senate.

In January 2013, the person taking the oath will be President Obama elected for his second term.

People now kind of think they know Mit and are supporting him as the great hope.

I trust President Obama and his team will explain to people exactly who Mitt is – do not forget what was done to him in MA by the Senator Kennedy people many of whom are President Obama supporters..

by the time the gop wakes up and finds they nominated the wrong candidate it will be too late and that it was made possible by their blind hatred of President Obama. remember they are moving up their nominating calendar so if Mit is the nominee he will have longer periods to be examined with his record compared against President Obama.

I think you may be onto something, Linda. I saw this post at CNN. The article indicates that although Romney may be the front runner at this time, he doesn’t have the support of the majority of republicans.

I heard them discussing this on NPR last night, and they said that it looks like the saying that Democrats fall in love, and Republicans fall in line is coming true. The Republicans may not like Romney, but if they think he’s their best chance of beating President Obama, and if the corporate donors get behind him (which is likely, now that Koch-whore Christie has endorsed Romney), then they will suck it up and vote for him. I also saw a tweet yesterday with a report that evangelicals are so zealous to defeat President Obama that they will vote for Romney if that’s their best chance.

As for me, I hope the OWS pull it together and decide if they want to be protesters or if they actually want to work towards their futures. The movement could be useful, if they can mobilize themselves to meaningful action, and not just protest. If they had used their TV time to chant for the passage of the AJA, it could have made the difference last night.

    • October 12, 2011 at 12:25 pm

Keith, Romney’s competitors may not attack him, but you can bet the attack plans have been laid for a long time by the White House. The president knew from the beginning that it would be Romney and he said, “when the nominee is chosen we will be ready.” Mark my words, he IS ready for Romney, the ads prepared, the subtle and not-so subtle digs already composed. Sure there will be moments when we’ll despair as we see poll numbers seesaw, but I have faith in our president and I have faith in us to put on our marching boots and work out hearts out.

Thank you Tony Bennett. You could not have been clearer or more supportive

of our President much to Piers Morgan’s chagrin

    • October 12, 2011 at 12:23 pm

WHEN IS PIERS MORGAN GONNA STOP ASKING EVERY ONE THAT COMES ON HIS SHOW ABOUT THEIR SUPPORT OF THE PRESIDENT…ITS LIKE HE IS OBCESSED WITH BARACK OBAMA…ITS SICKENING…IM WAITING FOR ONE OF HIS GUEST TO TELL HIM TO STOP THE B.S…….I MEAN REALLY!!!!

      • October 12, 2011 at 4:25 pm

Although I haven’t been watching Piers, I have to say that given the amount of people who is supporting the president that has been on his show, he might just be playing devil’s advocate. In other words, he might have been told his segment is meant to take on the president in a negative tone, but he brought people on to dispute his theories or dispels the negative notion he’s meant to portray. So maybe he’s asking tough questions, but he’s asking them of people who supports the president rather than those who could be brought on to agree with the negativity he is displaying. That’s my guess anyway.

damn right Tony and thank you for standing up for our President

  7. October 12, 2011 at 11:31 am

I had the great opportunity to meet Tony Bennett and have dinner with him years ago. His niece was on my staff and she took me to a couple of his concerts. He really is an amazing singer and he’s been a true blue dyed-in-the-wool Democrat all his life. But most of all, he is a very dear, very sweet person, very genuine. So BRAVO to him for standing up for our great President.

  8. October 12, 2011 at 11:35 am

Those who will take exception to Mr. Bennett’s comment regarding PBO will do so out of ignorance of American history. Less than 50 years ago, Jim Crow and segregation were the norm, and as one who lived during that period, I don’t think anyone at that time would have thought it possible that a POC would one day be POTUS. I think Mr. Bennett knows our country’s history and compares the America of the past to that of today and celebrates the progress we have made, and that progress is represented by PBO. I love, love, love, Mr. Bennett’s touting of PBO’s intelligence! I have the biggest crushes on PBO and VP Biden mainly because they’re very smart, but I must admit, my crush on VP Biden has a very long history!

I don;t watch this guy’s show, but can someone tell me why he is always asking celebrities about the President? Is that the format of the show? Just curious.
    THanks.

No it isn’t which its why it’s so puzzling and frankly frustrating. A lot of British people have said he’s a douchebag and I know he’s connected to the Murdoch scandal in one form or another; but he seems to have some grudge against President Obama. It’s weird. Everytime he has an African-American on his show he always tries to insinuate that the black community no longer supports PBO, and that other Black guests on his show have expressed huge disappointment toward PBO, which is frankly a lie. Every Black guest on his show has thrown their full support behind PBO and blamed the republicans for being obstructionists. Piers just has this huge chip on his shoulder and seems to overrate his importance.

Piers is still furiously searching for the celebrity that will say something negative about the President.
He is fishing so hard and its just too obvious.
This guy is a RW plant. He is looking for a sound bite that goes against the president from a well loved celebrity.
I especially Love that when fakers like jon stewart, ben affleck and matt damon are mostly irrelevant now.

      Lexi,
You are absolutely right. Piers has one theme and that is to ask every guest about President Obama and to try to get them to say something negative and controversial. He’s a piece of work. I hope he fails.
