POTUS and FLOTUS are back home. It’s so nice to see Mrs. Robinson also. I wonder what Mom and daughter are talking about, it seem to have POTUS smiling.

Someone on a previous thread asked if Twitter really had any value. I’m here to say it does. I’m here to say your tweets do not go unnoticed. Let me tell you about what happened to me after I tweeted Rep. Ellison urging him and the CBC to support the President. Ellison keeps tweeting about the public option and blaming Pres Obama because it wasn’t passed. That’s right, Pres Obama is to blame even though the blue dog dems and republicans wouldn’t vote for it.

It started with this tweet from gobrooklyn: @keithellison even with a more aggressive stance from POTUS, the GOP isn’t budging. Until the AJA is signed U need 2 stop w/the if, and, buts

My tweet to brooklyn and Ellison: Sad but Ellison and rest of CBC hv no guts when it comes to GOP.:

Well, he came back with this to me: @LiberalPhenom can you offer a specific example?

My tweets in response: @keithellison CBC unfairly attckd Pres Obama for not addressing blk unemployment, high b/4 he took office but not R 4 obstruction.

And I said this: @keithellison Public option stp by blue dog Ds & Rs. But CBC keep blaming Pres & say nothing to Rs.

And this: @keithellison IMO, Rep Ellison, all of your fire shld be directed at Rs, not our Dem president. Shld not be on cable bashing Pres Obama.

Finally this: @keithellison And you shld be addressing Rs voter suppresion efforts. Thanks

Now I didn’t think my tweets were particularly harsh. But apparently it struck a nerve because Ellison came back with this:
@LiberalPhenom why don’t YOU address something?

Well you know I couldn’t let that go so I tweeted: @keithellison Excuse me? I’m out registering voters every weekend. What r u and the CBC doing to fight Repubs again? They blkd public option

Plus I tweeted this: And unlike u, I’m not being paid. I volunteer for the Pres & democratic party to help America.

Well, Mr. Indignant didn’t tweet anything else but several people blasted him for his hateful response to me. You see he was confronted with the truth and didn’t have an answer. I am convinced that PLs like him just want to hate the president. They will never be satisfied no matter what he does it will not be enough. Why is Ellison harping on the public option when we have a critical jobs bill on the table? When repubs are working to keep people from voting?

Anyway, this shows that they and their staffs are watching those tweets. And we need to turn up the volume.

    Boy, was that fun.

Good for you Proud! Keep up the good tweetin’ work! 🙂

Awesome Proud. Twitter is very very useful. One might think his/her message isn’t getting through. But it absolutely is. I have called out many PL and media folks and when they respond in a snarky manner, I send them evidence after evidence of their lies and some respond with an apology. Sometimes it might be a half-hearted apology but hey they apologized none the less. Some of the others don’t respond after being confronted with evidence of their lies, but the beauty of twitter is that others see your tweets and can click on them to get clued in on the conversation and they themselves can peddle the GOP Media and Emoprogs with more truth. Ah…..the beauty of twitter. #PressOn my Obamacrats because you’re all indeed effecting change. 🙂

      • October 9, 2011 at 5:18 pm

You are so right, UT. Several people tweeted Ellison after his response. They couldn’t believe he responded that way. And they confronted him with his Pres Obama bashing. He’s gone into hiding and hasn’t tweeted anything else.

When Twitter first came on line, I could not understand why anyone wanted to use it. But outside of calling our reps it’s most effective because as you said so many other people see the info. And no one can stop us from tweeting or filter us.

Thank you proud for your excellent responses to Ellison. I think certain CBC members are genuinely resentful of PBO’s success in politics so much so that they allow themselves to be used by others to attack him.

OMG – this is excellent! So, I had given Rep. Ellison the benefit of the doubt after people in the last post had said he was actually trying to warn people about Cain – the same Cain who just this week said that he has no problems with how black people have been treated over the years. Now, to see what he said to you – a volunteer, while he’s drawing a salary paid for by taxpayers to work for them! Thank you for challenging him! I’ve been off twitter today because I tend to get held prisoner there, but I’m going in to tweet him, as well. Thank you!

Well done proudofobama, I am glad there are tod twitter army responding to the so called ‘base’ of the president. I sometimes think they can’t be that stupid, if president Obama doesn’t win re-election, he will be just fine but what do they really think will happen to their progressive ideas once the gop gets their hands on it. They are so short termist. it makes me 😡

      • October 9, 2011 at 5:31 pm

Exactly, does he think a public option is going to happen without Pres Obama in office? They’re either dumb or deliberately trying to derail the Pres and his agenda.

let it rip PoO.Thanks for setting him straight with the truth and facts

    • October 9, 2011 at 5:44 pm

Thank you for putting this here. I wanted to share with another site and you just made it super simple.

What a childish and mean response from Ellison. Not sure if I want to hear from media folks and politicians anymore. They act like such babies when challenged.

I’d like to coin a term of we need to “Russert them”. Referring to the late Tim Russert that went totally prepared for his guests in Meet the Press. He had the video clip, the sound bite or newspaper quote that stopped their lies and flip flopping right on the spot. The truth is what will stop them. Thanks to the fighters!

Geez. HE is the one who is in Congress! He wields more influence than many of us. Just seems like some of these members of Congress want POTUS to do all the work.

Obama is president so he’ll always get the lion’s share of blame/credit for anything, but I don’t understand where these members of Congress get off not doing their part.

    • October 9, 2011 at 6:45 pm

i’m so glad you did this proud. i was having some difficulty putting things together and figuring out how to get in on conversation, etc. i think i can see the light at the end of the tunnel and i don’t hear a train whistle so i must be on the right track. 🙂

That was very cool. I think yah that Twitter is helpful – I think especially for senators/reps that use it, it provides a way of getting to them faster. There’s something really satisfying about sending a tweet about something you think when you want it

    • October 9, 2011 at 9:19 pm

GO Proud!! I was after him yesterday, too. He seems to have a very thin skin. I wish the Dems knew something, anything, about unity.

He just responded to me saying that all successful movements are citizen led.So I responded that if he’s abdicating his duty to educate people and encourage voter registration, then why is he being paid. And I also reminded him that he was on TV bashing President Obama. No further responses.

He really is full of it…

Was never really impressed with him…

A lot of posturing and bending with the direction of the raucous ‘progressive’ wind…

More than a few hints at President Obama resentment and envy…

Rather petty and un-statesman like behavior…

          Slighty vicious/gossipy tattletale like qualities…

          All around unimpressive…

In trying to destroy President Obama, many of the suspects have exposed their butts…

And most, if not all of these suspects will end up as sad casualties of their own petty vendettas…

Thanks Proud…you did goood, real goood! I just sent Rep. Ellison an email (I haven’t gotten with the tweeting thing yet)…I told him that He and the pl need to stop the madness…here he is moaning and complaining about HCR and we have moved onto AJA…I told him that he knew good and well why we got what we got (re HCR) and that a billed was passed and signed into law after a 50 yr effort! I told him that he and the pl need to stop with the single issue politics…if they don’t get everything they want, they moan and complain to the detriment of AJA and other bills that will help ALL AMERICANS! I told him if he and the demos don’t get behind PBO like they did FORMER PRESIDENT CLINTON, I was going to become an independent and they demos will no longer be able to take my vote for granted!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had such a sense again after viewing the pictures of how extraordinarily emotionally healthy our First Family is. They are going to be fine as people and as a family because of that. Those that love to criticize or vilify them, not so much.

Love! Glad to see them smiling and laughing. Hope they got some much need relaxation. I also noticed the PBO was carrying his iPad, FLMO has put her hair up again and carrying a very nice bag 🙂 and Mrs. Robinson is still wearing her wedding ring. That is sooOOOooo sweet. But then again I may be late noticing.

What can I say??? It is so nice to see the strong family unity exhibited by these photos and others you have posted. They are all so blessed to find such joy with one another. I am so happy that Mrs. Robinson is healthy and can enjoy the happy times with her daughter, grandchildren and our President. It’s fantastic to see a woman of her generation right there with her daughter enjoying the benefits and supporting the country by helping with her precious granddaughters. She seems like such a strong woman and you can see where Michelle gets her strength.
The President and First Lady continue to work hard to make our country the best it can be and I continue to support them and will do so throughout the coming campaign season. God bless them and their entire family. They continue to be a blessing for our country!!!!!!!!!!
