Good Morning Chips and TOD Family. I did that tweet. Dems leader, Schumer, Reid, and Durbin spoke about the status of the China Currency Bill and moving on with the AJA Bill. Schumer sent out some tweets with some numbers.HZ

Reid, Durbin and Schumer did just hold a brief presser on the Senate plan. Reid talked about his financing model that will tax millionaires 5% to pay for the jobs bill.

The House event above will be on twtter.

        • October 5, 2011 at 12:03 pm

Reid says the WH is on board and he’ll introduce the bill in a few days.

From what I read from Steve Benen, it appears that people like Mary Landrieu are just outraged that we would end the 1917 start-up subsidy for oil companies making record profits, and these DINO’s are happier with a surcharge on millionaires.

Call me crazy, I want both.

I don’t know why they can’t see that there are millionaires behind the democrats, too. And that President Obama has outraised all the Republicans put together, without using lobby money or these dubious sources. They should trust that the people who vote will have their backs if they do the right thing – and they might just not need all that money if they kept doing the stuff that’s popular with more Americans – i.e. the right thing…

There is going to be so much slime peddled with billionaire ad money. This is going to require an epic effort by everyone to counter these attacks. The sad thing is that ill-informed voters can be influenced by these false attack ads. I keep writing about what happened in N.Car. during the midterm election where one guy targeting 22 races, winning 18 of them, turned the entire legislature into Repub hands. Obama voters who didn’t show up to vote also are responsible.

I have reach out to my family in North Carolina to mobilize to register everyone to vote and protect voter’s rights. I met these people on line while researching my family tree.

    Hi Guys,

I just saw on Yahoo that Cain is tied with Romney.

They both make me feel like puking.

I laugh everytime I see Herman Cain puffing up his chest at his increased poll numbers. He’s delusional if he thinks the Greed Over People party will nominate him as their candidate for President. He keeps saying that African-Americans have been brainwashed into voting for Democrats. He should look in the mirror and realize he has been brainwashed into thinking the GOP is a party that welcomes diversity. 🙄

Doesn’t he look stupid strutting like a peacock? The Rs will not nominate a black man in a million years. They are using him to attack PBO and AAs. His smackdown from the GOP is coming and it will not be pretty. And I won’t feel sorry for him.

      • October 5, 2011 at 12:50 pm

Heh, I am all for cain getting the nomination and raising hell amidst the rethug ‘base’. It would be a great fun to see the racist pigs’ heads exploding everywhere.

Herman Cain is the new Alan Keyes, remember him, and how the GOP attempted to run him against Obama in US Illinois Senate in 2004, and for President in 2008? Keyes was an epic failure on both, was tossed under the bus by the GOP, and Herman Cain will suffer the same fate.

      • October 5, 2011 at 2:59 pm

UT,Herman Cain is like Micheal Steele they think that are in with the money that is all that matters. You see Steele runs around trying today to seem like he cares about the issues, but it’s all about getting paid by the highest bidder.

I think it would be hilarious for Cain to get the nomination. Can you imagine this country split in half because of choosing and defending the best black guy for the job? If nothing else, it would be surreal to see PBO and Cain debate, while pundits try to figure out a way to report on them without making it about race.

cookemom, you know that will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, happen. Those racists ass Republicans will never elect Herman Cain. If Cain didn’t have money he would be just another black boy to them. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that, but I didn’t want to use that other word.

South africa’s anc rejecting a visa for Dalai Lama to visit his friend Bishop Desmond Tutu is truly pathetic. Amazing how the chinese have a one -man vendetta for decades. Kudos to PBO in meeting with Dalai Lama and asking the chinese to take a hike.

IMF warns that europeans countries need to reverse cuts. But if you’re a developing nation in South America, Africa or Asia, austerity is the only way to go. Great that Brazil asked inf to stuff it many years ago.Look where they are now.

For those folks who have more energy to call, tweet, or fill out email contact forms……

You may want to contact the Republicans how HAVE NOT signed the Grover Norquist pledge. We gotta encourage this type of sanity.

Hopefully they will respond to our request to support jobs.

Special thanks to Chips for sending me the list, it is soooo much easier to do when I don’t have to hunt up the info.

  10. October 5, 2011 at 1:23 pm

So if the Republican Establishment decides Romney is their guy, and he somehow manages to get the nomination, that means that the Far Religious Right Tea Party ground troops will be forced to go out and sell Romney (who maybe haven’t forgiven him the way Huckabee claims to have) as ‘their guy’. I think the only reason they were willing to work for McCain was because of the tundra twit. Does this mean the establishment will be forced to make Romney pick a wingnut as his veep? Very odd.
