    I’m loving it Chips!!!

Thanks Everyone. I’m going to bed. I’ve got that Community Day event in the morning. Gotta get me some voters registered 🙂

    I just read the rules:

They don’t have to notify the winner until Oct 7th. 😦

Meanwhile the west coast is still sending me donations. 🙂

The rules just say Sept 30th at 11:59PM but it doesn’t say which time zone.

    Nite Nite Everyone!

Hello Donna – I just got home and turrned on the computer. I can’t wait to see the official result. In any case, you are the winner as far as I’m concerned. Thank you ever so much for inspiring us all; thank you, Chipsticks for providing such an excellent service to us and thank you to all TOD friends who are contributing money, time and effort. Donna, please give the President our love and tell him that we stand with him and will work hard for our common values and objectives and four more years for the best President ever.

Have to go to bed so I just topped it off to a cool 10K! Congratulations! (PS when you talk to OFA please recommend that they take pointers from Chips in running a well moderated blog. I remember 2007-8 when it was a community like this one; now too much effort to scroll past all the trolls).

    Hi Chipsticks and everyone

I was inspired by a poster and wrote the following:

    “I can’t afford a lobbyist, I’m the 99%” bit.ly/rpIm48 #99AGAINST1 That’s REAL POWER. USE IT. #YesWECanDOMoreTogether #PRESSON

    That inspired an American Equation:

What a fantastic showing! What I’m loving especially is this evidence that the obotosphere is starting to gel and is poised to give a nice assist to the Obama/Biden campaign effort. I love love love reading about the donations as well as the “I’m in” activities. This is a wonderful campaign donor/volunteer hangout. When I read stories, such as OFA’s success with getting enough petition signatures to foist off a GOP voter suppression plan in Ohio, I see that this money is going to such a terrific cause, one of the only volunteer organizations in this country which is focused, coherent, and organized enough to fight back against the Kochs and such a well-funded plot to disempower ordinary Americans. This grassroots fundraising activity and donna’s [+theobamadiary’s] success with it has cheered up my week.

    • October 1, 2011 at 7:12 am

Right on, gn. You hit it on the head. OFA is the only effort I feel good about donating to. It truly gets things done.

Yes indeed. Most of us may not be rich, none of us have dictatorial powers over the country, and we may not always agree on everything, but we have each other, and a shared vision. Just really proud of donna, and of this community, and of OFA in general. The organization is truly superb and the people in it are superlative IMO.

Well, I have a really good feeling about this. My monthly check showed up a day early! So I was able to make a couple small contributions to add to her numbers. She’s a winner no matter, but it would be such fun to TALK to the President.

VIDEO: Conservative activists Don Racist Outfits To Mock Perry’s Position On DREAM Act

Conservative activists protested Rick Perry’s support for allowing children of undocumented immigrants to pay in-state university tuition outside a town hall in Derry, New Hampshire this evening. In order to underscore their point, one woman wore a poncho and sombrero while holding a sign that read “Thanks for the in-state tuition”. Asked why she was “supporting” Perry, the woman told me it’s because “he gives us everything we need.” When I asked who “we” was, she pointed to her sign thanking Perry for in-state tuition and replied, “Is it not obvious? Kinda dense, aren’t ya boy?” Despite multiple attempts, she refused to divulge her identity. Watch the video:

Minnesotan Whose Daughter Suffered A Stroke From E. Coli Asks Bachmann To Reconsider Her Food Safety Position

GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann criticized the government’s regulatory “overkill” when it comes to food safety. “When they make it complicated, they make it expensive and so then you can no longer stay in business,” she said, while chopping beef at a Des Moines meatpacking plant.

    http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/09/21/324556/michele-bachmann-food-safety/

Today, in the Minnesapolis Star-Tribune, a mother from Bachmann’s home state of Minnesota whose daughter had a stroke due to E. Coli poisoning appealed to Bachmann to change her position:

I caught it on the news that you visited a meatpacking plant in Iowa last week and promised to reduce restrictions that ensure food safety, so that small businesses could create more jobs.

I am adamantly opposed to this idea.

According to CNN, the European outbreak of E. coli has killed 16 people; the New York Times reports an even higher number. To loosen rules for the meatpacking industry invites danger to innocent victims — like my 4-year-old daughter, Rachel.

Thanks to E. coli, my daughter has lived in a hospital since June 11. Thanks to E. coli, she experienced acute kidney failure.

Thanks to E. coli, she has also suffered a stroke, resulting in a brain injury on both hemispheres. She has lost her ability to walk, talk and move in a normal way.

Before E. coli, she was a perfectly healthy, active little girl.

VIDEO: Citing No Evidence, Rick Perry Says Info On Awlaki Raid ‘Probably’ Came From Gitmo

It was only a matter of time before conservatives started to credit “enhanced interrogations” for the killing of American-born radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen. GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry got the ball rolling in an interview with Fox News’s Carl Cameron this evening. “We don’t know for sure,” Perry said, “But probably information or possibly information that came from those interrogations there in Guantanamo Bay could be the reason that we were able to take out” Awlaki. Cameron didn’t follow up on that statement, but reporters might want to start asking Perry or anyone else if they have any evidence. Watch the clip:

Fred what else do we expect from these fools? This President gets credit for nothing. If they say one kind word about the President they are afraid that their crazy ass base would turn on them. But what is so scary is that the candidates are just as crazy.
