10,000 congratulations donna dem!

Link

My eyes almost popped out when I checked the figure just now – $10,000?!?!

That is spectacular!!!!

Thank you so much to everyone here who helped Donna Dem in this fundraising drive, you’re fantastic.

And thank you again to Tigerfists88 for promoting the drive to his 26,000 followers on Twitter last night – legend.

Now we just have to wait and see if she won the challenge …. and gets a call from the President. Gulp.

Congratulations again Donna!

Oh, FANTASTIC!!!! Only wish I’s broken mine up into smaller chunks and wish I could have given more but it looks like everybody else made up for the slack. That is a LOT of money right there. BRAVO Donna and TODville!

I got two donations yesterday and I extend heartfelt thanks from me and PBO!

  4. October 1, 2011 at 8:16 am

Congratulations, Donna!!! I’m glad I was able to send a few bucks your way earlier in the month. There’s nothing like being associated with a winner, such as yourself and of course President Obama. As others have already mentioned, your efforts have truly been an inspiration. I read somewhere on a previous thread that you and Chipsticks were going to put your heads together to organize an even more intensive fundraising effort as we approach the Presidential election season. That sounds awesome, and you and Chipsticks are A-W-E-S-O-M-E !!! 🙂

Congratulations Donna, I’m so happy that I was ABLE to donate on yesterday, finally. I was rooting and tooting for you all along. It was Interesting to see how your donations grew and grew. You did well, I think, and I’m commending you, on your committment, and dedication. Congratulations my Friend, I’m sooooooo proud of you 😀

Congratulations Donna. I hope you win first place. Thanks for all you do to get president Obama re-elected. He is a great president and we may not see another president like him in decades to come.

I’m fired up and ready to go … on a course I couldn’t even contribute to 🙂

Donna, from the Right Side of the Pond: Congratulations !

  10. October 1, 2011 at 8:28 am

This is just fantastic!! I am so proud of you, Donna!!

You know, I only had $5 and I kept holding on to it because I was embarrassed. I kept thinking “this isn’t going to help at all”. Then, I finally decided, “what the heck, it can’t hurt”. So I donated my $5.

Just goes to show that EVERY little bit helps!

    • October 1, 2011 at 8:44 am

Yes, there are several top dollar donors but, liz952, you are one of millions who pitch in $5.00. There are so many who feel this way but it all adds up. That’s what makes PBO and this campaign so unique. These are rough times for many but we all pitch in what we can and PBO appreciates every penny. So thanks, one and all.

    • October 1, 2011 at 8:44 am

We’re all in this together and each give what we can. It is the participation and community which count. What has made OFA a legend in it’s time is the army of committed small donors, giving what they can, whenever they can.Yes we can again, together!

    • October 1, 2011 at 9:24 am

Oh Liz, you almost made me cry with “because I was embarrassed” – you’re a sweetheart. Every single dollar counts, and you also added to the number of contributors, which is a crucial figure too – it will show the strength of support the President has. It’s people just like you who will get him re-elected. Love ya.

    • October 1, 2011 at 11:30 am

Bless you liz…I felt the same way. Yesterday was mortgage, house insurance AND auto insurance day. YOWSA. Oh yeah…food…let’s just say, were going to be creative this week. BUT I threw in $5 for Donna and $10 for the President too because even though it was a tough day financially (most days are) the fact is that because of Barack Obama and the HAMP program, we WERE able to save our home and get our interest rate dropped to 4.3%. Because of Barack Obama, my small business is, while it’s slow, it IS growing. This week, we may have landed our first media partner. Because of Barack Obama, our daughter who just started college this fall, received MONSTER grants to go to one of the top private, liberal arts schools in the country. And I could go on and on…I am incredibly grateful for this president. He is the reason why I get up and keep pushing everyday because guess what, he gets up and does it every….damn…day… So, while it might be my last $15 for a while (a little while…because guess what…I’m getting up everyday to go make some more), I’m going to send what I have out to two VERY deserving people who have inspired me.

    • October 1, 2011 at 3:00 pm

Ahh Liz, please, please know that you are not alone, I’m right there with you. I am retired and Yes, $5.00 Is hard to come by some times. I gave yesterday for the first time to *DONNA*, and I too was felling a bit ashame, that I hadn’t donated to her, but you did well Liz, and I’m so proud of you 🙂

      • October 1, 2011 at 3:29 pm

I know some of us are retired and short of funds at times. I’m retired, too, but in a better position than many, so I always contribute a bit more for you and others. We’re in this together, luci and Liz. Together is how we’ll re-elect PBO in 2012. We can do this!

Oh Donna!!!!!!! I am so glad I was a small part of this. You have made it so much fun and we all know you will represent all of the TOD family when you talk to the President!

Can’t wait to see what you and Chipsticks come up with for fundraising. We know the next 14months are going to be tough, but you will help is all reminder what we are fighting for.

Wow! Congratulations Donna. How did you do it? I started a fundraiser and put it on Facebook, but didn’t get any contributions. I hope you won.

    • October 1, 2011 at 8:46 am

I think it would be good if we could all share strategies as time goes on. This is very different from 2008. It was much easier to raise money then.

      • 29 hopefruit2
        October 1, 2011 at 8:52 am

I believe that once 2012 rolls around, and the GOP nominee is known, you will see a sharp rise in donations. Right now is still a bit early.

        • October 1, 2011 at 9:03 am

AGREED! I think lots of things will be much easier – volunteer recruitment and voter registration, for sure. I just hope the PL will not go off and splinter.

          October 1, 2011 at 10:25 am

hopefruit2 I think so too the MSM keeps spining Christi a million way to se if he still run PBO will take any of them.
and yes donation will rise, so let’s continue to what we are doing here there are a lot of smart people here. and let’s
not panic. there will be ups and downs. so let’s get ready.

  14. October 1, 2011 at 8:48 am

You can always put your link on your comments here. I try to contribute to as many pages as I can. I lost count of the number of times I contributed to Donna. I am so proud of her and looking forward to her account of talking with the President! Way to go Donna!
Perhaps fundraising can be coordinated with other blog roll Obamacrats and with all TODers with pages.

    • October 1, 2011 at 8:53 am

That’s what we used to do at the OFA blog during the 2008 campaign and every Friday we would have money bombs with trivial pursuit type games and quizzes. People would donate to whoever gave the right answer first. It was fun. This time we all pulled behind Donna because we wanted her to win this very big prize!! And it sure looks like she has. Not sure if it’s legal or proper to record it but I hope she can!!

OT ☞ I highly recommend this week’s Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO (premiered last night.) It’s a PBO love-fest. Seth MacFarlane, Salman Rushdie, the überawesome Former Gov (MI) Jennifer Granholm, and ultrasexy Van Jones (LOVE HIM!!!)

Governor Granholm really slays it! SEND OBAMA A CONGRESS WHO WILL WORK!!! It’s seriously awesome. I haven’t felt that wonderful after watching the show in months. Usually there’s some tool on I want to jump through my TV and seriously throttle, including Bill. But this episode was GREAT.

    ★★★★★

      Tally, can you link it?????

    • 53 dotster3
      October 1, 2011 at 9:22 am

I thought Granholm was stupendous, as she always is, but she looked like she wanted to “throttle” Bill a couple of times, like when he said Obama didn’t look like the adult in the room, more like a substitute teacher. After initially praising him for the al Alawaki demise, Bill went into PL mode with lots of complaints. And MacFarlane talked a lot but didn’t say much, and he seemed to be unaware of crucial facts, such as when he identified Jimmy Carter as a Republican president. Ay yi yi.

        October 1, 2011 at 9:41 am

I loved when Rushdie said, “There’s this thing called ‘treason.’ Bill stopped with the whining then….

          October 1, 2011 at 9:44 am

I loved when Van Jones jumped in with, “It was never ‘Yes, *I* can”, it was ‘Yes, **WE** can.'”

Good morning All. I am so happy for you Donna and I can’t wait till we start submitting our ideas to you for the call with POTUS. I want to suggest we submit ideas privately because I know the other “crazy side” will try to steal our ideas because they have no accomplishments.

Donna, if you can’t get all the ideas out to the President on the call ask him if you can send him a package with all our great ideas and comments. Very, very, very, important……….

Now I have really got to run……..

        • October 1, 2011 at 10:20 am

Donna, I have friends at work who I ask constantly did you donate to the President and they always say they are going to do it. Well yesterday I said I will create my own page for donations and my co-worker said he will donate if I have my own page…. Lots of people at work owe me money since I have contributed to children’s candy money, wedding showers, baby showers, birthdays, etc…..

I am collecting all the money owed to me and I will use the Guilt card on all my slipper wearing co-workers, friends and family members…

I’m one of those late donors. I had left a response to a post you made at TPV telling you that since I’m retired, I only get paid once month, and I’d donate then. I followed your advice and broke my donation down into several to help with your number of donors figure. Congratulations! I’m proud of you and everyone else who could help you reach your goal!

“One voice can change a room, and if one voice can change a room, then it can change a city, and if it can change a city, it can change a state, and if it change a state, it can change a nation, and if it can change a nation, it can change the world. Your voice can change the world.”

I’m just putting my nose in today so I really appreciate this update, GN! 😆

{{{{Donna D}}}}, {{Chips}}, {{TOD’ville}} It’s a wonderful feeling to be a part of this action! As someone upstream said, it feels good to be involved with success, and IMO the team here is very successful in all its attempts. With the leadership, vision, and team spirit displayed during this particular challenge I just know we are shaping up for a victory run towards 2012. Cuphalfful recently remarked that she can feel the spirit of unity that is being (re)birthed across the blog community and I think this campaign has been a good evidence of that. We are rising up, and I thank Donna D for restarting the engine here! 😆 I can see us becoming our own ‘company’ behind PBO as we pull together with participants from different blogs in endeavours like this one. Extremely well done EVERYONE!!!!!!! 😆 😆 Ah feel good!

Truthfully, these days every time I encounter a piece of awesomely positive news, Luther Vandross’ “Ain’t no stopping us now. We’re on the move” plays in my head. That’s become my chosen private cheerleading song ever since I stumbled across it on a sister blog several weeks ago. (Can’t remember if it was on The People’s View.)

Continue to have a wonderful Saturday, all!

    • October 1, 2011 at 9:37 pm
