Someone sent out a link yesterday quoting the Chicago staff and reasons why they’re fighting so hard for President Obama’s re-election. One of the quotes was “Because the alternative is not an alternative”.
I have received an extraordinary amount of donations primarily from this site. In fact over 300 of the donations I have received this month have come from TOD followers. I send out “thank yous” when you make your initial donation and I have gotten over a hundred responses in the last couple of weeks.
I want those of you who participate and share information on this site to know that there are hundreds of people who read what we share here everyday. They are the silent lurkers who know us all by our posts and check into this site everyday but never say a word. They have shared with me in those messages about how we lift them up and motivate them to keep “Pressing On”. Some of their notes of inspiration brought me to tears. You never know the impact that your words and links and commentary can have on people until you encounter them in a simple message of support.
I just want you all to know that you along with Chips are making a tremendous difference to so many O’supporters in the face of so much negativism. So keep informing, keep sharing and most of all keep lifting us all up to continue the fight because our President is worth whatever labor we endure to guarantee his success.
No matter the outcome tonight I feel like a winner already just because of the overwhelming show of support I have experienced here in raising money for our President.

Donna, you are a winner regardless of the outcome, but you have got this hands down sis. I donated again today. Not only is it important to help you, it is important to help the President. I read something on “First Read” (like I really believe Chuckie) but he wrote that Romney and Obama’s donations for third quarter will be lower than second quarter. Why? I have no idea but I so want us to make a big showing this quarter and you getting to speak with him is the frosting on the cake!
For Romney, I just think the field is getting bigger. For PBO, he had to cancel some big time fundraisers due to the fake debt ceiling crisis. I’m sure that was all part of the GOP plan.
If ours are down, that will be a bummer, but I do recall reading that the third quarter is typically the most challenging due to the distractions of Summer. Plus it’s been such an economically challenging quarter that I bet many many of us are either still waiting or, like me, having to contribute less than usual. And none of the big Wall Street doners who supported Obama in 2008 are giving, but are meeting with Romney instead.He helped save their butts but they will not be there for him this round. I think the campaign is surprised; many of us out here are not.

Boehner Pushes For Energy Department Loan For Home District Company Amidst Solyndra Scandal
Not House Speaker John Boehner (R), who on Friday called for the Obama administration to send some of that federal cash back to a company in HIS Ohio district.
Boehner’s office wants the Energy Department to approve USEC, Inc.’s application for a loan to construct a uranium enrichment plant for the American Centrifuge Project. They say that USEC’s proposal is solid and would “bring thousands of good-paying, long-term jobs,” which they said stood “in stark contrast to the ‘stimulus’-centric Solyndra saga.”
“Hundreds of Southern Ohio workers stand to lose their jobs if the Obama Administration reneges on the president’s promise to support an energy project in the small town of Piketon, OH,” Boehner aide Michael Ricci wrote in a blog post.
“Since the president made his promise, USEC has endured review after review and taken the necessary steps to conserve cash and protect jobs, but the Department of Energy has yet to act,” Ricci said. “This is despite the fact that the company has gone the extra mile to secure additional private investment to reduce taxpayer exposure. Now the Piketon project is at risk of being shut down, putting hundreds of jobs in limbo.”
Thought this was an interesting tidbit. The head of the Chgo tea party, who is the main organizer for the national convention in Schaumburg, Il. this weekend (Chgo burb), who has received accolades from all over the place for being this really great guy, a family man, a family values man, was arrested last summer for soliciting a prostitute. And he forgot about his own failings as he took to twitter after his own arrest to condemn Jesse Jackson Jr. for his long ago indiscretions. I don’t want to wake up in November 2012 wishing I had done more. Failure is not an option! Once I max out for PBO I’ll start on Elizabeth Warren, DCCC, DSCC, DNC, nod monthly OFA vote for change trips to Nevada since the Bay Area us so blue. We all must keep doing all we can together. What I love about our president is that he calls on us to work together in perfecting the American dream the only way it can be realized, through loving community. I don’t want to wake up in November 2012 wishing I had done more. Failure is not an option! Once I max out for PBO I’ll start on Elizabeth Warren, DCCC, DSCC, DNC, nod monthly OFA vote for change trips to Nevada since the Bay Area us so blue. We all must keep doing all we can together. Thanks to you for your dedication, Chipsticks for her overall awesomeness in creating, sustaining, mothering, and inspiring this great community, and all who come here. What I love about our president is that he calls on us to work together in perfecting the American dream the only way it can be realized, through loving community. Never about fear, hate, lies, or venom but above love, empathy, reciprocity. Even more than 2008 it is a fight to define our future, almost apocalyptic in its implications.
