I finally got around to uploading this, it’s that amazing documentary on the killing of Bin Laden from a few weeks ago. It includes an interview with President Obama – if you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth watching.

Was this the one that was on…. cable? History channel or Discovery or???? Is it the one on my DVR at home?? (Come on Chips, you know you have the power to see my DVR with your mind….. )
😀
Let me see …. *** strains eyes **** …. ah yes, you have 834 episodes of Spongebob Squarepants in your DVR. Jeez Tally!
He’s sexy!!! Come on!!!
Hi tally, it is the one from the History channel. Of course it is on your DVR 🙂
Thanks Debz!!! Your telepathic skillz are EPIC! I can watch it here, and delete it at home. WIN!! 😆
It is a great responsibility to be able to see what is on every one’s DVRs. I just can’t remember what is on mine!! 😀
I haven’t had the opportunity to watch this yet, so thanks for posting.
I know everyone’s sick of everything Palin, but I just saw the documentary filmmaker of “Sarah Palin: You Betcha” on Martin Bashir, and got interested and found this interview. I think all these authors and filmmakers expected that P. would have tossed her spikey red pumps into the presidential race by now, but nevertheless much of what he talks about, the tea party influence etc., could be applied to most of the Repub candidates
Sounds like Wasilla, 8000 people and 77 churches, is scared to death of Palin. Her most significant trait is that she’s “vindictive” and those who know her best hate her the most. As stated, frightening that someone of this caliber would ever be considered for VP or POTUS. I would say “horrifying.

She’s vile. And hopefully, disappearing into the Alaskan tundra to enjoy her millions donated by an ignorant fan base.
Thanks so much, Chips. I don’t have to wait for it to come out on DVD.
thank you for that Chip

I read in the paper yesterday, that he might not run for re-election. I pray that he doesn’t, he’s done enough damage already.
Thanks Chipsticks. I haven’t had a chance to view this yet.
History Channel knocked this documentary out of the park. Just as they knocked the six or twelve (?) part series America: The Story of Us out of the park. Just as they knocked the live reading, documentary, acting out of the amazing Howard Zinn’s book: A Peoples History of The United States out of the park. Fan-freakin-tastic!
TOD Family:
I truly believe this is the biggest problem we have. I’m sending this info to every newsroom I can find, and justice.gov, BEGGING THEM to run the story & investigate. We MUST get rid of these machines before nov 2012, or we are FUCKED.
Please read, then send it everywhere, tweet, FB, email your REPS, and every news outlet on the planet – if enough of us do, they can’t ignore it.
This cannot wait:
Please investigate, and outlaw diebold machines!!!

Wonderful documentary that I recommend to everyone. Fascinating.
Wait a minute. This is giving credence to enhanced interrogation and the Bush Administration.
Chipstick check this video out this is priceless. Go home Mr. Christie. Martin Bashir has some great comments http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/44706460#44706460

The Justice Department has asked the Supreme Court to review the Healthcare Law….
WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is joining calls by states and a business group for prompt Supreme Court review of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.
The department says it will file its appeal with the high court later Wednesday asking the justices to uphold the constitutionality of the law and throw out a federal appeals court ruling that struck down a key provision.
The word from Justice is the Obama administration’s first indication that it wants an up-or-down ruling before the 2012 presidential election on the law that aims to extend insurance coverage to more than 30 million Americans.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/29/us/justice-dept-asks-supreme-court-for-health-care-ruling.html
This scares me with those Republicans on the court, but maybe they want to highlight the fact that the next President will pick two, maybe even three, new Justices. I just don’t trust those Republicans on the bench.
Team Perry’s Five Hour Flip-Flop On The Heartless Comment (VIDEO)
Here’s Sullivan from Chuck Todd’s Daily Rundown:
Here’s Sullivan from Chuck Todd’s Daily Rundown:
TODD: The heartless comment in particular, it’s that Governor Perry said you don’t have a heart if you’re against this. Does Governor Perry — does the campaign regret that remark?
SULLIVAN: No. The fact of the matter is that the state of Texas does not subsidize. Every student in Texas who is a resident for three years, who’s graduated from a Texas high school and who is admitted to college can pay in-state tuition. This is a residency issue. These are students, kids who have been here for a long time, and that’s a decision the legislature made in 2001, ten years ago, with just four dissenting votes.

Rick Perry Backs Down: Calling DREAM-Haters Heartless Was ‘Inappropriate’ (VIDEO)
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/09/rick-perry-backs-down-calling-dream-haters-heartless-was-inappropriate-video.php
Couldn’t watch all of this mess. Perry is a horrible interview. Just horrible speaker. And what’s with the interviewer? Strange.
Yes, I can only take small doses of watching Republicans lie so openly on TV. And yes, Chuck Todd (the interviewer) is strange – and clueless.
I hope I can get this video to embed. It’s Martin Bashir telling the truth about Chris Christie’s horrible record in NJ. Unemployment 9.4% (more than national average), child poverty 14.2%, murder rate up this year alone by 16%. And he had the gall to say our President isn’t leading? He needs to fix his own damn problems.

I caught that part of Bashir’s show. Goldmine!
Pls tweet the info. I’ve sent it to Rev Al, Lawrence, Ed. Everyone needs to know the truth about this phony.
can anyone embed this on youtube PLEASE;PLEASE;PLEASE?

I intend to go.
Tweeted! Go ahead, Al. Speak the truth.
Does Tweety really have to invite Ron Suskind to appear on his program for a 2nd time! to give him a chance to respond to his critics??? That’s just sheer desperation for some anti-Obama junk, purposely and needlessly stirring up controversy. One appearance is all that is usually allowed authors to peddle their books, and in this case with this author, with all the known lies and omitted parts of quotes, one time was too many.
Glad I didn’t turn him on today.

A failing health care pitch to college students

One of the measure’s simplest, and most swiftly implemented provisions, allows children to stay on their parents’ health care until they turn 26. And, as a top College Republican official let slip during a post-debate panel in a Google “hangout” promoted by Fox News last Thursday, that’s become a problem for the party on campus.
“That’s an issue that on college campuses we battle every day as College Republicans and that we get questions about,” said CR National Co-Chairwoman Alex Smith. “The candidate that will speak to specifics like that issue and others is going to be the candidate that will eventually prevail among the youth vote.”
College Republicans are generally rather media-friendly types, but officials declined to elaborate on the issue on the phone, and co-chairman Alex Schriver, emailed over a response that ignored the question of how the under-26 provision is playing out on campus.

Today was one of my busy days, so I’m just signing on to THIS!! {{Chips}} You are such a sweetheart, Chips! How did you know that I don’t have the history channel?? I can’t watch it now because I have to catch up, but just to know it’s here! Oh! Oh!(This medium does not provide the right emotion graphics!) 😆 😆 😆 Don’t know what I did to deserve you and this place, but you guys really, really add to the positive side of my life scale….DAILY! Thanks! 😆
I think this a very interesting and important opinion—-about the “class warfare” thing—-and why Repubs defend the top 2%—–and, I think, a wise opinion on how to sell Obama’s policy.
http://blogs.reuters.com/great-debate/2011/09/27/the-reason-the-gop-keeps-sticking-up-for-the-wealthy/
This is a good article, and spells it out clearly and plainly. I’ve spoken to a few of my friends who earn six figure salaries, are well educated, live well and seem like they are thinking people – but they favor the Republican party. Their answer is always about wanting people to pull their own weight to get ahead, and not creating a culture of people who aren’t motivated to get into the middle class. I couldn’t understand their position, because in many other areas, they seem like caring, empathetic people with lots of disposable income, and many opportunities. They are the “independents” that we need to reach.
On further investigation, I discovered that a lot of these people aren’t informed, and they assume that the Republican party is still the same party they used to assume was the inspirational party of working people trying to get ahead. They are blissfully unaware of what is going on in this country, and the many avenues that are being closed off to real working people who are simply trying to stay alive. And as much as i argue with them about “shared sacrifice” or looking out for each other – they counter with details of how they made it on their own through hard work.
I think the argument in this article of lifting everyone to make everyone a little better off makes sense. It doesn’t rely on a sense of empathy or charity; it doesn’t assume that individuals actually care about other people. It appeals to an aspiration of success breeding more success – which is a language these people can understand.
I am surrounded by these kind of people. I have had many of the same arguments, in fact just one yesterday with my husband’s cousin on the phone. I thought this article was interesting as it gave me some better talking points, a better approach which may have more success in convincing some of these people to think in a different way. And these are good people, most are Repub because their parents were, and like you said they still think of the Republican Party as the old model which no longer exists—–fiscally conservative, socially liberal to moderate. All have had some success but certainly aren’t in the upper echelons. Like many, they just like identifying with the big money party, equating that with “success” and are mostly clueless about the current state of the Repub Party and tend not to think below the surface. And I agree these are the people which we need to reach. They aren’t voting Repub because of socially conservative reasons—-Obama’s going to take their guns and Bibles!—BOO!—–they’re not the tea party types—–they just need some enlightenment. I wish all could read this article.
Thank you Ms. Chips for this post and I’ll have to throw a bone to Donna Dem before the 30th just to thank you againg.
This was absolutely riveting. Thank you Ms. Chipsticks
