VIDEO: Eva Longoria comes to Obama’s defense 😉

Add Eva Longoria to the list of stars rallying behind President Obama. The “Desperate Housewives” actress appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Tuesday night and chatted about a fundraising dinner for Obama that she attended earlier this week.

“It’s a special privilege to meet our commander-in-chief,” Longoria said. “And, you know, I’m a big Obama supporter no matter what he’s been through. He’s been beaten up the past couple of years.”

Longoria said she knows Obama well from her advocacy work on Latino issues and called him “very receptive.”

“He keeps getting beat up lately because there’s such an extremist movement happening and it’s a very dangerous — for me it’s very dangerous — because it’s not the character of America,” she said. “It’s really under attack. And he’s been governing in, like, a state of emergency since the time he went into office. So we haven’t really seen him do what he can do.”

I stumbled upon this last night right before I went to bed, and quickly switched off the TV as soon as they moved on to another topic. She was great – and you could see she wanted to make her point, and I think she would have named names, if she didn’t think it would have an adverse effect. She was wonderful! I’ve always liked her.

@redbird45 @Charmed86 @lovelyladypa give me a direct quote on how i am “bashing” the president? She had the nerve to ask me this on tweeter so i gave her her quotes. September 28, 2011 at 12:54 pm

Yes – I heard that a couple of GOP congress people even said they didn’t need to support the jobs bill because even Democrats like Maxine Waters were refusing to support it.

I finally had the stomach to watch the Rachel episode from a couple of nights ago where she defended the President on the “bedroom slippers” speech. I need to stop doing that. Personally, I didn’t see a strong defense, and the mediocre defense was completely eliminated by that Barbara Lee piping up about how the CBC provided a pathway for the President to do what he’s doing now with the jobs bill, and how they’ve been working all this time. It was ridiculous, and so transparent – and went completely unchallenged by Rachel. Next time – I’ll just take people’s word for it that something good happened on Rachel.

I”m waiting to see if the media, Rachel, the CBC, the outrage African Amerian Professors (imanperry) going to talk about the fact the said “slippers” in his speech on the 14th in Raleigh, NC. Remember all this BS is about “slippers”…I asked Mad Max and she didn’t answer.

I think she realize she ( Maxine Waters ) is not talking to a uniformed voter. I got crickets on every thing i asked her. took her all the way back to her votes in the 105th and 106th congress under clinton. once again crickets, abt welfare reform, and not bashing Clinton on national tv. This is fun.

Special request. Is it possible to build a space where we can archive videos of people who line up to cheer the President when he travel both at universities and on city/rural streets and roads? Can we also archive pictures and videos of the President with children? People smiling and overall enjoying meeting him? I’d like to be able to push back on the MSM meme that people aren’t happy around him. Also, I think that documenting this time in history could benefit from having access to this kind of archive. Thoughts?

I like that idea Tien Le!! It would be a great push back for many of the silly memes, “he doesn’t relate to regular people” “he is losing support” etc…

      September 28, 2011 at 4:29 pm

Really excellent Idea, Tien Le! It would also be great to put together some of the President’s speeches and town hall meetings, over the past two and half years, that shows that he has consistently said that creating jobs and fixing the economy was #1 on his agenda. I am sick and tired of hearing pundits and self-serving politicians repeatedly lie that the President has not been focusing on jobs. A video piecing together the President’s speeches could be shared with people who may not be as tuned in to sites like this one.

I am so glad that President Obama is letting it be know that he does not have a magic wand to implement immigration reform. It just shows the ignorance of the questioner and the lack of focus on the LEGISLATIVE branch by the media. Too many people are blaming President Obama for the lack of immigration reform. He is doing everything he can from the EXECUTIVE branch. Why aren’t they hammering the Republicans who used to be for immigration reform. That is where the bottleneck it. It’s not President Obama.

As President Obama said, it is a disservice not to focus on the branch of government that has the responsibility of passing legislation to make immigration reform a reality.

Mitt Romney: ‘I Don’t Have A Political Career’ (VIDEO)

Romney has tried again and again to take a big hit off the popular vote fatty — running for Senate from Massachusetts in 1994, governor in 2002 and finally president in 2008 — voters have only given him a win once.

But Wednesday, Romney upped the outsider ante, claiming spending the better part of two decades running for office doesn’t classify as having a “political career.”

“Why am I in it? It’s not the next step of my career, by the way,” he said when asked why he’s running for president. “I don’t have a political career.”

I hope you’ll take him up on it before Friday’s deadline.

Will you donate $15 or more today and be entered to have dinner with Barack?

These dinners mean a lot to Barack. They’re a chance for him to talk with a few of the people who are driving the campaign — and a chance for him to say thank you.

So come prepared to tell your story, and say whatever’s on your mind.”

Don’t miss the opportunity to be there. Donate $15 today, before the September 30th deadline:

Ed Henry the fox news TOOL, asked Jay about the Solyndra mess and said that the GOP leaders like McConnell, Orin Hatch etc. were right to castigate PBO and his administration on the “sloppy” approval of the loan. Jay reminded him that it was the GWB administration that approved the loan in the first place and those GOP leaders who are castigating PBO now, actually wrote a letter urging GWB to approve Solyndra and wrote a letter thanking him for his leadership; so they should stop being disingenuous. That shut Ed Henry up really quickly.

On the one hand, President Obama has done all these evil things that have destroyed the country, on the other hand, the President has done nothing and “has been a bystander.” From the right, the President is a socialist, marxist, Nazi, Muslim, dictator; from the left he is corporatist, Bush clone who is more Republican than Richard Nixon. From the right, the President is a racist who favors blacks over whites, from the left (CBC) the President has neglected Blacks. Once you weed through all these attack memes you begin to realize that this is all about hating on Obama that has absolutely nothing to do with the job he is doing as President.

VIDEO: With Government Job Losses Slowing The Recovery, Romney Promises To Lay Off Even More

Romney promised that, as president, he would cut federal workers’ pay and slash the number of federal government jobs:

ROMNEY: Federal employees, we’ve got too many of them, and they’re paid too much. In many cases, they do a good job, we respect the work that they do, it’s important work that they do. We just have too many.

Romney Wants To Lay Off Public Employees

Romney’s argument that federal workers are paid more than private sector workers distorts the facts.

    http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2010/10/federal_pay_myths.html

First, public employees are more educated, with 45 percent holding a college degree, compared to 29 percent of the private sector. Second, far more private employees work in jobs earning less than $25,000 per year, with many not making enough to clear the poverty line, which drags down the average.
