I can’t wait to see President Obama
I have to learn to let go because I can’t forget the way President Obama was treated by the far right on his first back-to school speech.
It was so disturbing and disgusting.

I have to let go that anger when I think about it, it doesn’t do any good.

    Here something way more positive
    Kids are so smart….and cute!

    Last Sunday in Medina, …..

      Love that last paragraph quote:

“He keeps getting beat up lately because there’s such an extremist movement happening and it’s a very dangerous — for me it’s very dangerous — because it’s not the character of America,” she said. “It’s really under attack. And he’s been governing in, like, a state of emergency since the time he went into office. So we haven’t really seen him do what he can do.”

      Thanks, Tulips.

Is Michale Moore endorsing Huntsman. He is really making himself irrelevant. http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/#710

    • September 28, 2011 at 10:34 am

      Loser endorsing a loser.

      • September 28, 2011 at 10:35 am

I just read that he’s trying to pull some new book he wrote out of Georgia because he’s boycotting that state. Does he really think that matters to anybody in Georgia?

I saw him on Piers Morgan yesterday and he was salivating about how sane, moderate, and smart Huntsman was. How he speaks Mandarin, how he was the Ambassador to China, how he believes in evolution, how he made civil unions legal in Utah, how PBO and the Democrats squandered their 60 vote majority (Michael you’re an idiotic moron; they NEVER had a full 60 vote majority), how PBO wasn’t liberal enough and wasn’t fighting hard for progressive values……. blah blah blah STFU. I changed the channel; he’s whining and lies were too much and Piers was lapping it up; looking like the cat that got the cream.

I cannot put into words how I feel when I see this: the super majority of 60 votes that was NEVER there.
Whatever happened to Senator Kennedy, Al Franklen….didn’t happened

There was no Liberman, Landrieu, Lincoln, etc.

              This makes me so mad.

I realized something months and months ago, the far left, emoprogs, are so incredibly ignorant, facts don’t matter, they make up their own reality.
              Anything to bash the President.

If they would stop being so hypocrite and join the T-party already.

            • September 28, 2011 at 11:18 am

Wow – so he said all that on Piers Morgan on behalf of Huntsman… and then proceeded to go to the wall street rally/march and speak there… wonder if he even realized/cared that no way in hell would Huntsman or any other Repub candidate have supported whats going on with protestors on Wall Street. I tell ya Moore has been a huge disappointment – but I’m so glad to see some of these people for who they really are.. no more hoods covering their faces.

  4. September 28, 2011 at 10:33 am

okay I see I forgot to sign in and my comment went away.. oops, I’m sorry Chips. My question was whether anyone here heard Christy’s speech (last night I think)?
The AP headline today is : “Chris Christy gives Electrifying Speech” – the rest of the headline is: But He’s No Conservative Savior.

I’ve never ever seen a headline by the AP or any news source that described Barack Obama as having given an “Electrifying Speech”. Never. And we all know he’s been giving electrifying speeches for over 4 years..

      September 28, 2011 at 10:39 am

Who own AP. Some rich right wing conservative nut. AP sounds like Politico or Huff &Puff.

      • September 28, 2011 at 11:09 am

Oh yes the AP has been well known to write some awful untruths about POTUS… remember there was a ‘journalist’ from the AP who would bring donuts to McCain during the election? And one guy, who’s name was ‘ Ron Fornier’, I believe, who never wrote a positive/factual article about POTUS. I didn’t even bother to read the article today on Christy’s ‘electrifying’ speech.. I’ll check in a bit to see who’s byline is on it.

      September 28, 2011 at 11:06 am

I saw parts of his speech. There was nothing electrifying about it. He practically had an orgasm on stage due to his incessant bowing and scraping to Ronald Reagan. He just bashed PBO for not being a “strong” leader (unlike Christie who thinks being a “strong” leader means you have to bully the crap out of people), he said PBO wasn’t a leader because there’s a problem with the economy and he isn’t fixing it. That he can’t and won’t fix it. That the measure of a real leader is one who fixes all problems lickety split.

I guess that’s what the AP considers an “electrifying speech.” 🙄

      • September 28, 2011 at 11:14 am

Ha! thanks ut, to the AP writers, anything bashing Pres Obama would be considered ‘electrifying’. I swear the media is bound and determined to get ANY Repub elected… by hook or by crook~

Funny how Christy musta missed the AJA and POTUS’s push on it.. not to mention the multitude of ways he’s ‘saved’ this country economically from absolute disaster over 3 years. And then theres the pictures/facts of Christy’s hand out for emergency help only just recently… guess POTUS didn’t ‘lead’ there either. Christy=just another ungrateful repub liar.

Reagan would be to the left of Huntsman and be happy to get a job selling toasters on TV in this political climate.

    Good Morning TOD family

Thanks to all who posted uplifting stories. The blackamerica article hit the nail on the head for me.

Donna and a few other folks encouraged us to make phone calls about the Jobs bill. I agree.

I wanted to remind you that some Democrats have come out against the bill or are mumbling….

So after you call, email or tweet Boehner, and your elected officials you can always push the Dems who are whining. I have a list at the contact page.

Well my son’s school is still doing that opt in/opt out to hear the President’s Back to School Speech. This pisses me off like nobody’s business. I sure as hell don’t remember this when Bush was in office. It’s such bullshit.

    • September 28, 2011 at 10:52 am

So call the school and complain, show up at a PTA meeting and complain, write a note to the Principal.

      • 46 57andFemale
        September 28, 2011 at 12:06 pm

You are so right. The way the right got control of government was by starting at PTA meetings, small local government and working their way up.

What’s it called in law enforcement — the 80% rule, or something like that? Where if you stop petty crime like graffiti and the like, statistics show that major crime goes down. So if we start small — like fighting the right wing school by school, we can affect what children see and hear.

The left ceded this to the right, starting over 30 years ago. Even now there is a tendency to dismiss them as ‘loons’ that no one would believe. Unfortunately, that’s how they pushed a generation of right wing lies into what a frightening number of Americans accept as truth.

So the PTA, the School Board — start there. Make an impression on one school, and we can reintroduce sanity and true American values.

I see Collier County schools in Florida (Naples) is not showing Obama’s message live, saying if teachers decide to show it to students at a later date, they can. Just ridiculous. Lee Co. (Ft. Myers) will show the message but has the opt out choice also, because—–what?—-parents may not want their kids to hear the President of the United States urging them to study hard, to set their sights high, to continue their education after high school, to be the best student they can be, that their future and our country’s future is depending on them? Beyond ridiculous to not allow this. Not all kids have ideal parents who are highly engaged in their kids’ education, and I would think all schools would welcome this encouraging message from our country’s president.

  8. September 28, 2011 at 10:50 am

I also wanted to share some of the email I have been receiving, from groups I belong to.

MoveOn is doing a bridge building porject to support the AJA
Last week, lots of people took photos of President Obama as he spoke on the Brent Spence Bridge over the Ohio River. It’s one of the nation’s busiest bridges, but it’s rated unsafe and functionally obsolete.1 And like the president said, it’s hardly the only piece of our infrastructure in desperate need of repair.2 I’m betting Santa Rosa has things that need fixing too, and work that needs doing.

Our vital infrastructure is falling to pieces, but construction workers can’t find jobs. It’s not right. The Contract for the American Dream that we all created together made the solution clear: Congress needs to pass jobs legislation that puts people back to work rebuilding our bridges, roads, schools, and other necessary structures. And with our photos of work that needs doing, we’ll keep the pressure on them to do just that.

Can you take a picture of work that needs doing in Santa Rosa?

Everything you need is right here: http://www.workthatneedsdoing.org/americandream/.

We’ll deliver your photos to Congress and use them to keep the focus on how we can rebuild the American Dream by putting unemployed workers back on the job fixing our communities.

By showing photos of real work that needs doing nationwide, we can make the problem harder for Congress to ignore and build the push for legislation like the president’s jobs plan.

    From a group called “MomsRising”

“My husband just lost his job and therefore we lost all of our health insurance about a month ago. … We have 2 young children – one is 8 years old and the other is 20 months old. We have very little savings and also had to claim bankruptcy a couple of years ago after years of under employment. We are very worried where we are going to be in a few months financially as we were just catching up on our bills and now are on this employment roller coaster again.” — Helen, a MomsRising member from Idaho

“One of my best friends was threatened with layoffs for two years due to outsourcing. Yesterday, she got laid off. Her severance package includes medical through April, but her husband just suffered a stroke and is going to need extensive rehabilitation. What happens if she can’t find another job before April? My boyfriend has an advanced degree and marketable skills, but he’s facing a layoff in spring 2012 and is worried he won’t find another job. For my part, I’m working two part-time jobs and still just scraping by. I send resumes and don’t get responses; I get interviews and don’t get called back. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Why are we shutting up and accepting this as inevitable?” — a MomsRising member from Ohio

Why indeed! Our nation is facing grave challenges and we need to roll up our sleeves and work together to find a path forward.

It’s been over two weeks since President Obama proposed the American Jobs Act — a plan made up of ideas that both parties have endorsed in the past and should be able to get behind now. But Congress has yet to take any action on the bill. Take a moment now to remind Congress that families across the country need them to act quickly to rebuild our economy.

*Tell Congress not to let politics get in the way of creating jobs in our nation and urge them to act to pass the American Jobs Act now!

It is encouraging to know that if we make a phone call or send an email, we are not alone. Many groups across the country are urging their members to support the AJA.

    Another clever idea

From GOSAL on the OFA blog – a Facebook page that promotes sending in postcards of support. This idea is great for folks who aren’t technical. Anyone can hand out postcards at church on sunday and ask folks to send them in.

I really don’t know if we can make it as a country if Barack isn’t reelected, I really don’t. I personally know people that are one missed paycheck away from losing everything. Barack is up against powers that are vast and strong, and they don’t take no for an answer nor do they take hostages. These people aren’t even hiding their intentions, they don’t even hide their hands anymore, they want to do away with every impediment that they think is standing in their way of the all mighty dollar. You’ve got billionaires holding secret meetings trying to recruit anyone they can find to challenge Barack. A hard rain is coming.

It’s not only the US that would be in peril, can you imagine these extremists with super majority in both chambers and the WH.

It’s not only Americans who fear these far right nutjobs,..

This is what I cannot fathom: it’s not as if Obama is unfriendly to business — these Republican business people have to know that. But they’re willing to unleash virtually brain-dead , hate-filled right wing loons on the world, in order to make a few extra bucks when they’ve profited handsomely during this recession?

        It truly boggles the mind.
