ouch

Ooooh, it must have hurt GOPolitico to report this today (after all, they’ve been pushing the ‘Jews turning on Obama’ line for months and gleefully reporting Ed Koch’s opposition to the President):

***

I still can’t stand Ed Koch, though.

    I’m sorry but
WHAT THE HELL???? Are you kidding me?

    Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

Wanna bet Koch’s about-face won’t be reported in the “liberal” media?

I thought I heard somewhere that he would be going around the country campaigning against PBO. It is funny how Rick Perry could go to NY, give his Israeli policy red meat speech, call PBO arrogant and naive and could not answer the foreign policy question at the debate.

Hey all. Koch cost the Dems a seat (even though it won’t exist anymore). Did he do this just for attention? This is not a game. These people need to stop.

“Muslilm denied spot with Florida’s county Republican party” – They called him a “terrorist” and for the first time ever, an applying member was denied membership by the vote of 11-158

Why would a Muslim want to be a member of that party anyway? Have they not been paying attention the last three years?

        September 27, 2011 at 12:56 pm

Why would anyone not white (and wealthy) want to be a part of that party is beyond me. Booing a gay soldier, telling someone they should die because they have no health insurance, applauding the execution of human beings….is beyond party. There is something deeply rotten in these people and whether they like it or not, the Republican party have given these people a home to express themselves.

This was posted at the site Reelect ObamaBiden2012 by one of the posters there, Debbie R. Dudley (a regular)… it is a money solicitation by John Boehner and I really believe it ought to be seen everywhere by everyone. I’ve tweeted Axelrod, Clyburn, Rev Al and POTUS with a few bits of it… and I’ve tweeted Boehner calling him out on it… I hope you will too. Call his office, email him, because this email is total BS, here ya go:

    Dear Supporter,

The President and his team have declared that the 2012 campaign is officially underway. They think they can use their massive political machine to build support for tax hikes, more out-of-control spending, and more government intrusion into the private sector.

House Republicans welcome this fight, but we need your immediate support to counteract the White House campaign machine.

To help make sure we’re ready, I, along with House Republicans Leadership, have come together and agreed to triple any donation that you make through Friday’s important end of quarter deadline. Every dollar you contribute will yield three extra dollars for Republicans to remain on offense.

In a time of such uncertainty, our country needs leaders who are serious about taking on the significant challenges we face.

So please make an immediate online donation of $25, $50, $100, or more right away to provide House Republicans with the resources we need to press forward with our conservative pro-jobs agenda. Even a generous gift of just $5 will go a long way towards victory.

Remember, any gift you make today will be tripled by our Republican leadership team. Thank you in advance!

    Urgently,

    John Boehner
    Speaker

P.S. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your donation tripled by House Republican Leadership. Please make an immediate online contribution before Friday, September 30 at midnight and your support will be tripled…keeping Republicans on offense through next November.

Debbie’s response was: ” Please explain the pro-jobs agenda to me. I do not understand why the Republicans are not supporting the President’s Jobs Act bill. We are hurting in Alabama and need jobs, now.” I am currently waiting on a response.

“They think that…yada yada yada”?????What ADULT writes like that??? It could have come from my elementary kids.

      Great response, Sheri!

      • September 27, 2011 at 1:14 pm

the response at the end of the email wasn’t mine, but Debbie’s.. and yes she did well.

What chaps me about alll of it is the blatant lies about his “job agenda” impending “tax hikes” “governtment intrusion into the private sector”… not a dang truthful word about POTUS’s Jobs Bill… not a dang truthful word period- and to suggest that he is seeking funds to help him in his quest to provide JOBS is just ludicrious.

I just posted something similar on TPV, but in regard to the media. LIESLIESLIES. The narrative was discouraging, and now that I’m back to work, I’m more pressed for time. So the headlines, even though I know better, seep in. I spent ten minutes studying the actual poll numbers. Black and white. Graphs my students would get. Obama is not tanking. LIESLIESLIES.

His line looks like this: ————. Small changes. If there IS a trend it’s minimally upward. The groups he must be losing had to be included in ——————- Riiiight.

          • September 27, 2011 at 1:52 pm

We will have to constantly battle the media’s lies imo… they will get more and more insane as the election gets closer. I fully expect the media to take a feather from the ‘anti-Christ’ yeller at last night’s House of Blues fundraiser… and by next year have their ‘analysts’ and ‘pundits’ seriously discussing whether or not ‘Obama’ is the Anti-Christ. Nothing about this media would shock me.

I gotta say, as an American Jew, the idea that Republicans will be good for Israeli interests is absurd, since they will only be in support in the short run, ramp up animosities in the region and put the entire world in peril. I understand the blind spot that some Jews have when it comes to Israel — any threat to Israel’s existence means a threat to Jewish identity. But we are more than a half century removed from Israel’s founding and it is time to act like mature adults and accept that Israel is going to have to share that region with Arab countries and that the most sustainable, sensible solution is a peaceful agreement amongst the parties. The Arabs are not going to destroy Israel, and Israel is not going to destroy the Arabs. It is time to learn how to live together and stop tearing the world apart over this issue.

Is Rick Perry up to the task? If you’re small-minded and have the future vision of a gnat like Joe Lieberman, you only care about the next new settlement. If you want to actually find a way to solve the problem you need real adults. Republicans only know how to wage war — they have no idea how to end conflict in a meaningful way.
