Welcome home Mr. President. Many of us appreciate what you are trying to do for America and we are behind you 100%.

However, I just heard Robert L. Johnson, former CEO of BET tell Scott Pelley on CBS Evening News, that in order to fix what’s wrong with the American economy,

“you must be willing to be a one term Congressperson or a one term President”.

So, Mr. President, don’t count on any support from billionaire Robert L. Johnson.

And, secondly, candidate Obama said he was willing to be a one-term President, if it meant doing what was right for the American people. This idea didn’t come from Johnson. It came from the person who actually MEANT it.

      4 more for 44!

Robert Johnson, a staunch supporter of Hillary during the primaries, was very nasty to President Obama. These are not people that supported him before, I don’t expect them to support him now, so their words are just empty.

      Specks in the universe.

      Go figure.

Excuse me……….PLUCK YOU BOB JOHNSON. One of AA’s worse enemies with his Black Entertainment Television…..started out positive, ended up stereotypical, misogynistic, non-informing, and he says he was always in it only for the money. Who the hell should listen to him?

      • September 28, 2011 at 12:04 am

I remember that name, Robert Johnson, from the primaries..EDP4BHO. He was a real asshole..too big of a one to evolve, evidently. POTUS would have known going in..what to expect.

    • September 27, 2011 at 10:53 pm

I’ve thought about that but you also have to remain in the office to protect what your party has accomplished.

The reality is that I’m sure the President would be happy to get his life back, if there was a decent person waiting in the wings with his heart intent on doing right by the American people. The President has accomplished 80% of his agenda – although there’s still much work to do to fix the mess that the Republicans created. But there is no decent person waiting in the wings. And I think that the President enjoys the challenges of the job, even while he’s horrified at the ugly being brought to the surface from the GOP and their followers. I don’t think he’s going anywhere, because he won’t leave the country to the horrific future that the GOP promises to bring about.

Bob Johnson is a Clinton supporter, did he advise Clinton to be a one term President. What he said doesn’t even make sense. How in the hell can anything be fixed in one term…hell the mess PBO inherited will take more than two terms to fix.

  4. September 27, 2011 at 10:01 pm

Johnson supported Hillary. Didn’t he make some remarks about the then Sen. Obama and drugs during the primary?

    • September 27, 2011 at 10:08 pm

You are right. This bozo Johnson supported HRC big time. He even did a fundraiser. for her. I mean no offense to Hillary. He has tons of money and I think he lives in DC. Like Rev Al said today on his radio show, the people who are making the most noise against PBO now, never supported him in the first place. Waters and Smiley are prime examples. Not sure about West. PBO even said it in the BET interview. I remember seeing Maxine Waters on TV saying with attitude, that she was not supporting PBO, because she did not know anything about him.

      September 27, 2011 at 10:09 pm

      Yup. Disgusting.

Anywhoo; so glad PBO is back home safe and sound. It’s been a whirlwind but worthwhile and productive trip. Loving his snazzy tie.

        September 27, 2011 at 10:35 pm

Someone had commented that Willard was wearing those plaid shirts PBO wears when he’s casually dressed and I am almost certain he wore a tie almost exactly like this one during one of the last debates. Someone needs to tell him ripping off PBOs style at the same time you criticize everything he does is just stupid and dressing like the President won’t make you president. Apparently, he not only does not know who he is or what he believes, he has to check with PBO to figure out what he should wear from day to day.

YES!! His tie game has been on point lately!! Go PBO! Go PBO! LOL!!!

    • September 28, 2011 at 12:08 am

President Obama looks so tired. Good thing he’s young and fit. Who else could put up with all the crap being hurled at him. I can’t think of anybody with his character that could withstand it. Press on Mr. President!!

Btw……here’s Johnson’s quote verbatim: “As an African-American, I’m frankly insulted that the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues when Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood that I won’t say what he was doing, [but] he said it in his book.”………Robert L. Johnson (Jan. ’08)

      • September 28, 2011 at 12:32 am

        Remember
If they are always talking about you
You must be getting it done.

We can do this look at what we have already done.
We pick the leader that our country needs at this time.
IT’S NOT GOING TO BE EASY.

He really frosted me when he said that instead of investing in America, that he’s doing business with China, Vietnam, Brazil because the leaders in Washington can’t seem to get it together.

My question: Robert L. Johnson – since you’ve “made it” – what are you doing to help Washington get it together???

If you’re not part of the solution, then you must be part of the problem!

    • 32 utaustinliberal
      September 27, 2011 at 10:10 pm

He’s part of the corporate set that mouth off about PBO and yet outsource jobs where they can get cheaper labor and exploit workers.

    • 33 jacquelineoboomer
      September 27, 2011 at 10:21 pm

Sounds like their new meme – I’m outsourcing because Washington can’t seem to get it together. Yeah, right, we believe ya. Your bottom line and lack of caring about American workers wouldn’t be the reason?

    • September 27, 2011 at 10:31 pm

Johnson has never done anything to help the African American community, let alone the U.S.A. When he first started BET, the biggest contribution we had from the channel was not to educate or stimulate the minds of young people, instead women were shown half naked and degraded, to my mind.

Johnson has been about himself, making his money, that’s why he ventures outside of the country. If he cared about the U.S., he would do like people like Buffet and look for ways to help the U.S.A.

      Noisy shallow brooke, he is.

        • September 27, 2011 at 10:55 pm

Yes. I started on Monday. Thanks for asking. I will begin a nine week training in late October through early December. I keep pinching my self and thanking the good lord for this job.

Glad to hear that your hubby got a job, too.

I pray that many others will be fortunate to find something, too.

Bet it feels wonderful, and I suspect you have a new found “spring” in your step! SO happy for you….hubby had a job…but it wasn’t working out the way we planned…he NEEDED to find one before they asked him to go because he wasn’t “profitable” enough. He got this job, miraculously, in a week! There MUST be angels on his shoulders.I can finally breathe again…and hopefully, be able to contribute to this dear President’s campaign coffers.Something we really haven’t been able to do right now…

On any given day, I can see numerous conservatives being interviewed on liberal shows…is that the same on conservative shows? For example, Rachel had Steve Schmidt and Nicole Wallace – McCain advisers – on her show this evening. Ed is now interviewing Tony Perkins from the Family Research Council.

    • September 27, 2011 at 10:12 pm

Hey Vero, I just noticed the same thing. I fastforwarded through that interview. this Schmidt guy ran a nasty campaign against PBO and I did not want to hear what he had to say. I remember how they made fun of PBO when he made the speech in Germany. Rachel seem obssessed with the former McCain folks, including Megan.

      September 27, 2011 at 10:22 pm

It’s All Conservatives All The Time on all outlets. Are they all going for FOX’s audience? Even those considered to be more liberal and those considered to be neutral, such as the Today Show, give the most air time to conservative guests. It’s pretty hard to get your message out if you’re never allowed to give it.
President Obama has to be exhausted. I have no idea how he manages these continuous jam-packed days. And he’s not just managing, he is always so impressive at every occasion. Can you imagine that pressure? He’s a wonder.

    • 51 theo67
      September 28, 2011 at 1:06 am

There are no liberal shows. They’re all just making money with whomever can bring in the most viewers. That’s their only agenda.

I do not tweet, but wanted to pass this onto those who do:

Imani Perry and Sophia Nelson have latched onto the POTUS using slippers is somehow denigrating.

Pragmatic Obots Unite! has done an article tonight researching that, yes, the President did indeed tell WHITE FOLKS to kick off those slippers.

    Here is the article link

    About Those Bedroom Slippers….
Since President Obama’s speech at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Dinner on Saturday, some Black folks have complained about this particular line in his speech:

Take off your bedroom slippers, put on your marching shoes.

Some Black folks claimed the President’s use of the word “slippers” contained “coded language” and racial connotations. Here’s what Imani Perry, Professor at thePrinceton Center for African American Studies tweeted on the subject:

    ……………….

Anthea Butler, associate professor of religion at the University of Pennsylvania, wrote the following in her article, “Obama’s Preaching Doesn’t Reach”:

While my Twitter feed was filled with happiness about the president finally “speaking the truth,” I was perturbed by his rhetorical delivery and statements like “taking off your slippers.” Seriously. Has the president ever asked a white Democratic audience to “take off your slippers?”

Why yes, Prof. Butler. Yes, he has.

On Sept. 14th, in Raleigh, NC, President Obama said the following:

Now is the time to act. We are not people who just watch things happening. We make things happen. (Applause.) We’re Americans. We are tougher than the hand that we’ve been dealt. We’re bigger than the politics we’ve been putting up with. We’re patriots and pioneers and innovators and entrepreneurs. Through individual effort, but also through a commitment to one another, we have built an economy that is the engine and the envy of the world. We’re not going to stop now. The time for hand-wringing is over. The time for moping around — we’ve got to kick off our bedroom slippers and put on our marching shoes. We’ve got to get to work. (Applause.)

Anyone of the Obot twitter fam that hasn’t been blocked by @imaniperry and @sophiaRedefined, please tweet both of them with this information. Both of them have been pushing this hard.

    • 62 utaustinliberal
      September 27, 2011 at 11:03 pm

I’ve been tweeting @imaniperry and @SophiaRedefined. @imaniperry told me that she never lied about PBO. I’m going to tweet her very own words back to her. A lot of TOD’ers have been tweeting her also and calling her out with the Pragmatic Obots article as factual evidence. #TruthWillOut.

Thanks rikyrah and also gobrooklyn for the link to the article.

      September 27, 2011 at 11:09 pm

Many of us are being blocked by @imaniperry and @sophiaredefined for demanding they stop lying and apologize for spreading that lie. Folks who are on twitter, please go there and politely demand these women issue a retraction. These two in particular have been very forcefully insinuating that President Obama used racist language against African Americas.

Please flood their twitter timeline. Politely of course.

      September 27, 2011 at 11:18 pm

Thanks for finding that. Many of us remembered we heard him say the same thing to another audience before his appearance at the CBC, just couldn’t remember where. Tweeters tweet.
And I don’t know why I punish myself by checking on Jon Stewart. He has just been awful. Tonight he started by making fun of Obama at the LinkedIn town hall and of course had to feature the crazy who yelled that Obama was the antichrist and got in something about how desperate Obama is now that he lets people yell at him for their $250 donation. And on and on. Then he had the “black correspondent” say how insulting it was for Obama to tell black people to stop complainin’, stop cryin’—–all black people, not those in the CBC who have been complaining—–and then the “black correspondent” said he wasn’t going to vote for Obama, never really trusted him, didn’t even trust that Obama was black, talked about voting for Herman Cain—–it got worse and worse and worse. Jon Stewart is doing as much damage to President Obama as he possibly can.

      • September 28, 2011 at 12:27 am

They’re outta their damn minds. So full of shit. Sure..anybody can take anything someone says and twist it around to show how damn stupid they are.

      • September 28, 2011 at 12:28 am

Some Tweeters should tweet Stewart and tell him what’s up since he no longer knows.

      • 67 theo67
        September 28, 2011 at 1:17 am

Stop watching him, Dotster. He’s clearly gone over to the dark side. Tell me what his words do to advance the cause of the poor and working classes in this country? How do those words solve a single problem? How does anything he said make the world think better of the United States of America? How do those personal attacks teach anything to the young people who watch his show?

And while Jon Stewart was spewing this vile garbage, the President was flying all over the Western states, running himself ragged, begging the country to fight for what is their right. A decent job; a Congress that works for them; a chance at a future.

This whole Jon Stewart crap makes me so sick.

and i wonder who is he directing his comments to….and what is his ultimate goal ..is he trying to influence the Black community….is he trying to influence the white community….who is his target audience…and effective is he….

like you said…how many of these folks have ever had on Marching Shoes……

black folks understood the marching orders…..esp when the President said…..

i don’t have time to feel sorry for myself…i don’t have time to complain…..that he has to Pressssssss ON….

these folks have exposed themselves for who they are …and i must say…many black folks are not surprised….

the larger goal in allllllllll of this is to shake the massive support that President has in the Black Community…and to undermine support that he has in the white community…how effective will they be….remains to be seen….

on another note….Richard Wolffe mentioned on Rev Al’s program yesterday…that the funds raised in this election cycle will be matched by both sides….he says that the key will be in how it is used….

          The Struggle Continues….

I am so grateful that POB is back home. He does look so tired. I pray that he will get some good time with the girls, and ofcourse BO is probably still up. Then he and first lady can get some quiet time. He says that FLOTUS goes to bed early, but I hope she is up with him.

We give thanks for our President, Lord , and pray that he will get a good night’s sleep. Place angels of peace, love, comfort, and wisdom at the head and foot of his bed tonight. Thank you for this beautiful and gentle spirit that you have given us, Lord. May this “wonderful Web” that Fanciful spoke of be ever continued by your Gracious hand. Keep him peaceful for our sakes, O Lord Almighty.

Good Nite Chipsticks, and thank you so much for everything you do for us. My heart is so full tonight. Spent most of day writing e mails to Senators, few twits, and watched that Bully. So my spirit is weary. But this too shall pass. Sleep well everyone. Love you all.HZ
