Reuters: President Barack Obama topped up his re-election war chest with a string of successful West Coast fundraisers that ended Monday and showed soft poll numbers had not dented his ability to raise big money.
Despite tough economic times, supporters shelled out for events from Seattle to San Diego that likely raised upward of $5 million in two days, paying up to the legal limit of $35,800 to hear Obama speak.
…. His campaign team also said it was close to racking up a million donors, recalling his massive grass-roots fundraising push that helped him win the White House in 2008.
Tour events have been crammed with guests, who applauded loud and long in response to his intensified criticism of Republicans and his oft-repeated call for Congress to pass his $447 billion jobs bill.
… Later Monday, he spoke before a group of Hollywood celebrities, including actor Danny DeVito, who took pictures of the president from his seat, producer/director Judd Apatow and actress Eva Longoria. “I think Hollywood is very positive. I think they’re very excited about what is going to happen next year,” film producer Jon Landau told reporters.

When I heard mad Max was on the TV again blasting the president I began to think what could be her angle. You know the republicans can’t stand her and now they are in control of the ethics committee.
She’s carrying some dirty baggage that was up for review. Maybe she has become a tool for the republicans to save her hide.
That it. She is showing how sleazy she really is. She made a teleprompter joke yesterday. WHAT’S NEXT? Maybe she’ll join up with the birthers.
Morning all!! I don’t know whats up with the teleprompter joke. PBO delivers long beautiful speeches full of passion. If that is the result of a teleprompter them more of them need one. People are now saying he doesn’t understand how to converse with African Americans!! Umm… What is FLMO?? I could have sworn that beautiful woman was African American. Maybe my eyes deceived me.

i want to stop focusing on Maxine Waters….it is sad what has become of her…….This firestorm around the CBC….just causes more confusion….that interview with the President was an insult….and another attempt to diss…distort…and sew confusion and division…within the black community…
i for one am tired of this show that is being manipulated by the media…..it takes our focus off of the real issue…getting the jobs bill passed….
but like the President said…..”i don’t have time to feel sorry for myself…i don’t have time to complain….i’m going to PRESSSS ONNN”…
if i did not come here….if i did see the pics and the videos of the President …see his interaction with the people…and hear his own words…i would be swimming in a sea of confusion and despair….

I totally agree, prettyfoot. We have to stop giving Maxine any more importance and focus on the jobs bill. E-mail or twitter her, but let’s all keep our eyes on the prize–Obama/Biden 2012. As for the shows that feature her, just tell them they are boring and unwatchable. Don’t engage. They like a fight. They hate to be boring.

I think she made a deal w/ the Republicans. If you don’t follow through with the investigation, I’ll do anything I can to help you bring down President Obama. 👿
Basically, I think she completely sold out.
Finally, my enthusiasm to receive a phone call from the President has spread to my hubby. On Sunday he said, “So, if you win this thing does that mean I’ve got to cut the grass”? I said, honey President Obama is really good and indeed considered the most powerful man in the world but I don’t think he can see through the telephone but just in case he can I’ll vacuum the family room where I hope to take the phone call should I be fortunate enough to win 🙂

When it comes to President Obama, you have to take EVERYTHING the media says with the appropriate amount of salt. They will exaggerate or outright lie about him to push a negative angle. That’s going to be the case through November 2012. Just be prepared.
Exactly. They’ve been reporting that he’s lost small donors. Small donors aren’t donating in droves. SMH at the crap they pull from their collective behinds. Lost small donors indeed. 🙄

Community colleges are finally getting more than praise from the Obama Administration, with the announcement Monday of $500 million for job training grants from the Department of Labor. The grants, which range from $24 million to $2.5 million, will go to 49 community colleges, some of which are sharing the money for projects across consortiums.
