CLARIFICATION: The pool reports that a senior administration official, speaking without being named, told the press as they left Columbus that the White House plans to pressure Congress to pass the jobs bill in one act, not piece by piece.

“We’re going to take this to them every day,” the official said, “and challenge them to pass the whole bill.”

    ———

I knew this information that sperling said piece by piece approach, was in fact incorrect! Sperling needs to know the talking points before he runs his mouth!

Oh, I figured it was gossip. It is all over twitter than PBO is compromising. vomit.

Well the rumors from Sperling came from TPM I think, but david Axerold told Geourge Stephenoupolus tha Obam
wants the whole bill they will not braek it into peaces no way I think PBO said the same thing so be sure if this
is correct, before we react Thanks Jovie.

This site was sorely needed. With the feckless media stenographers carrying water for the GOP and never challenging their outlandish claims this is a good way to fight back. It worked well during the 2008 campaign. I know there will be a lot of linking to Media Matters because they have shown it is literally a full time job to keep up with the GOP lies and distortions. More circumventing of the media firewall. Love it.

Ladyhawke, I completely agree; I was a staple over on BWD’ s beautiful and informative site until her hiatus. Now, I feel right at home here, my politics is no left of center but somewhere in the middle and I do appreciate this new home until she (BWD) returns.

Steve King Says Obama’s ‘Drunken Uncle Omar’ Should Be Called Before Congress

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) wants to bring President Obama’s uncle, Onyango Obama, before Congress to testify on whether he received preferential treatment after he was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

“We have to bring drunken ‘Uncle Omar’ in front of the House Judiciary Committee, drill down into this, and tell America what’s going on,” King told Fox News, referring to Obama’s uncle, who is in the country illegally.

He also took a shot at Obama’s aunt, who was granted asylum in the country by a Republican-appointed immigration judge because her immigration status was leaked just ahead of the 2008 presidential election.

“I watched as President Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, also evaded [Immigration and Customs Enforcement],” King said. “The sympathy, the bleeding heart, of [Department of Homeland Security Director] Janet Napolitano decided to use an administrative authority to grant President Obama’s aunt asylum.”

King’s comments follow remarks by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), who said last week that “Obama’s backdoor amnesty allows drunk-driving illegal immigrants like his uncle to remain in the U.S.”

White House spokesman Jay Carney said on Sept. 1 that Obama expected his uncle’s situation to “be handled like any other immigration case.”

Why doesn’t he work on passing the jobs bill first, and the million other jobs that Congress is actually PAID to do – then he can waste taxpayer money on these frivolous pursuits after that.

Our great Prez is here in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio as we speak. He is on fire. I would have been at the RALLY had it not been for work. My neighborhood OFA team is there cheering him on. Keep him, the Dems, and all of us in your prayers. Call your representatives and KEEP HOPE ALIVE!! Obama/Biden 2012!!

That was my post earlier this afternoon about 2:45pm. I was so excited. I did see PBO in person here at home downtown in Oct. of 2008 for a campaign rally. I was just a 100ft away from his podium. 😀 Today I had to work, but my OFA neighborhood team was there. It was fantastic the way the local tv stations pre-empted their programming 😯 to air the whole speech. PASS THE BILL!! I’m counting the days to be in Washington DC once again for his second inauguration. 😎

Back to the thread topic. I see there are pundits trying to sabotage PBO’s efforts already. Spreading rumors of PBO caving and letting Congress dice the BILL up in sections to pass the bill. 🙄 Why would anyone in their right mind believe some crap like that when Congress just received the Bill yesterday? I will wait for analize after I hear the Prez say he is going to sigh whatever form the bill is in. I wish the public, especially the Progressive crowd, would stop falling for the manipultive media’s shannigans. I would think after all the EXPOSED lies by the media during the past couple of years that would wake some folks up. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!! Obama/Biden 2012!!

If you live in WA State, check out the proposals for redistricting: http://www.redistricting.wa.gov/maps.asp Slade Gordon’s proposal is truly frightening. The other Republican, Huff, isn’t *as* scary. The Dems Ceis and Foster have the new 10th in very different places. Fair to say none are close to agreement on where the new 10th should be. I’m okay with all but Gordon proposal on that score.

  11. September 13, 2011 at 7:06 pm

With a completely Republican government here in Michigan, the gerrymandering is awful. I think it’s unconstitutional and I hope some group challenges it.
