Tell the truth, Chips. They are trying to say a Dem loss is a referendum on PBO, total BS.

  2. September 13, 2011 at 9:59 pm

GOP will say it is because this president did not bomb Iran, and then bomb Hamas!
    And people buy it!

The GOP will say and do anything because they are counting on their base (the uneducated emotional far right wing) not knowing what “is” is; the TRUTH. But we (the TOD family and others) know that we know what we know…we have to keep spreading the gospel, so that not too many “people buy it”!

It’s a referendum on Obama’s Israel Policies and Welprin being pro-same sex marriage and being a bad candidate. I hope this makes the GOP double down on the Ryan Plan.

The guy ran a crap campaign. The district is full of orthodox jews who don’t like President Obama’s sensible Israel policies. It’s all subjective on their parts.

  5. September 13, 2011 at 10:10 pm

I really don’t understand how we can lose this seat. How are the GOP winning? I just don’t get it.

    • September 13, 2011 at 10:25 pm

I really don’t understand this either. Who in their right mind would vote republican? It’s troubling. People need to wake up, pay attention, and stop voting against their own interests.

        Right wing Jews.

I’m Jewish and obviously not right wing. But I can say this with some knowledge of this mindset.

This is NOT the majority opinion of American Jews, no matter what AIPAC tries to say. But this district will be influenced by anything less than total, unquestioning fealty to Israel.

That Obama’s policies could actually bring some peace to the region doesn’t seem to matter.

I agree with you 100%, but peace is going to show up and bring change to the region no matter what these people (in D9) think. What they clearly do not understand is that peace is coming (to all corners of the world and everywhere/place in between) because change has been in motion since 2008 and it ain’t going to stop…as PBO told AIPAC, “the world is moving fast”. These people should wake up and smell the coffee…they would be happier if they did!

If only Weiner had kept his dick in his pants. Hubris is a kick in the ass.

Haha, good one! Geez, I used to really admire him – at least for awhile. He never met a camera he didn’t like, especially the one on his phone. Yep, this does suck (no pun intended).

Of course, it’s ALWAYS PBO’s fault. As we know, he could cure cancer, walk on water and eliminate world hunger and they’d still blame him!

      • September 14, 2011 at 2:27 am

And, to make it worse, Jennifer..Weiner was going after Clarence Thomas for not declaring of his wife’s income at the time he was busted by the diisingenuou scounge, brietbart. The one time he got it right.

Some seriously stupid stuff Rep Weiner was into when he should have known way better.

Yep. Diaper Dave Vitter is still in the Senate and just overwhelmingly won re-election in 2010. GOP “values voters” at work.

♫They’ll be sor-ry♫…… but seriously, you can’t help but feel for the rest folks, who have to put up with this bagger until his term is through.

Well I am glad that, I’m told NY9 will be redistricted for the 2012 election. So we only have to tolerate the t-p for 1 year. I hope our guy pull a rabbit out of his hat the last minute. But if not, the new guy is only 1 of 435 members. And he won’t have any clout to do any damage. And no amount of spin from the talking heads is going to place this at President Obama’s feet.
This is about the other party lieing and Israel. NY9 is mad President Obama won’t kiss their ass. Thank goodness President Obama is standing his ground.

    • September 14, 2011 at 12:43 am

Ok so the AP is reporting that both NV and NY9 won by 2 Republicans. Thank goodness they only have a year. We need some good candidates to run in some of the Republican districts. I know they would have to be Blue Dogs but that is better than a full Republican.

Both the NYT and AP are reporting Turner’s win as sending a message to President Obama for his economic policies. But everything I have read in the past few days says that it is a referendum on his Israel policies and on Weprin’s support of same-sex marriage. There were a lot of conservadems like the awful former Mayor Ed Koch who threw their support behind Turner for reasons associated with the President’s position on Israel. Regardless of the reasons for this Dem defeat, it’s depressing to see just how many brain dead voters there are out there.

and this is why it is important to fight hysteria with facts,,,to the debunk lies ….but some folks do not want to adjust their point of view…they ride high on emotion……

St. Roscoe summed it up very well above. The NYT is trying to frame the story for political horse race purposes just like the rest of the MSM. Last night’s special election was about a crappy Dem. candidate and local wedge issues, nothing more. Plus, that district is not even a solid blue district.

This is great, from comments on the NPR site (hope this is ok to post). Made me laugh. Screw AP.

“Auto Mechanic in Michigan breaks 1/2” socket, says “Oh, Damn!”, Seen As Obama Rebuke”

“Man with pneumonia coughs up Ohio license plate in New Hampshire, Seen as Obama Rebuke”
“NPR begins covering Republican nonsense equally with washed up celebrity book reviews, Seen As Obama Rebuke”

    What’s next…

“Michelle tells Barack ‘Not tonight Honey’, Seen As Obama Rebuke” ?
