I’m still completely gobsmacked by CNN’s decision to air a ‘Tea Party’ sponsored Republican debate, one that allowed those racist bigots set the agenda for the night. What can we expect next? A Louis Farrakhan-sponsored CNN Democratic debate? Of course not, that would be completely unacceptable!

The President is visiting a high school in Columbus, Ohio tomorrow (Tuesday) to promote the American Jobs Act.

See you then.

Well its looking like the democrats will lose NY-9 seat tomorrow and it may not be because of Obama…But for same-sex marriage. After reading this, I think obama is not the sole reason for the democrats losing this seat. But good ole-fashioned anti-gay bigotry.

    Check out this article

    • September 12, 2011 at 11:49 pm

The horrible part is that the media will blame PBO. I do not think this guy was a great choice for the seat. Come on, Anthony won in 2010. The repugs are now suggesting that Obama doesn’t have a chance so they do not have to go along. The media is responsible for this BS.

Thank you for that link. Old habits and belief systems die hard, and it appears that was what the Dems in NY-9 ran into. I was raised Jewish and I see it in the older generations and in the younger Orthodox types. Some of their beliefs are carved in stone, particularly the need to have a patriarchal society, nevermind Gay marriage. I came from a very liberal background, but I do know this mindset from other relatives.

Thank heaven Obama is PRAGMATIC and not dancing to the tune of the PLers. If Choi wants, he can chain himself to another fence, but I trust Obama will stay the course of attending to all his consituents, for victory. And then, incremental change.

NY had concerned me – thanks BJ and the link.

They have been trying to make this President Obama’s fault even though none of their big wig Democrats like Schumer or Clinton have gone out there to campaign for their candidate!!!

        They had freaking Lieberman!!! Seriously!!!

I think some in the Democratic establishment, the Clinton arm, want this loss so they can add it to their catalog of anti President Obama argument!!!

Sorry but some of these hierarchical Dems are dirty, self-serving racists!!!

Take a well-deserved break, Chips! Thanks for everything today.

I think I’m having some post-traumatic stress after that debate. A little while ago, I was trying to think of a normal human being Republican who could run for president. Good grief.

    Goodnight, all!

      September 13, 2011 at 12:46 am

It would be much better for the country if there was a real person running against President Obama, and the debate could just be about the issues. These tea party Republicans are dragging the whole country into a very dark place, and if that becomes the norm, or acceptable, or just seen as a joke, then it will take years for sanity to return. Once one opens the door to the unimaginable, it’s very difficult to close it again. It’s like, once the brain believes something is credible, it’s no longer incredible. Would you have ever thought that the day after the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, that you would hear cheering at a GOP debate at the thought of letting an innocent person die because they don’t have health care? It’s insane.

And the saddest thing is that there are children watching all of this.

I know. It’s really awful. I only hope this exposure will wake Democrats up and cause them to register to vote, and vote next year, not just for Obama, but also down ticket. I hope the current Dems in Congress will go to bat for President Obama because he’s given them lots to run on, not run away from.

HONOLULU — A former U.S. service member was arrested in Hawaii after he sent emails from Thailand that threatened to kill Vice President Joe Biden, authorities said Monday.

The U.S. Secret Service arrested Justin Alan Woodward when he arrived at Honolulu International Airport Friday via a Delta Airlines flight from Bangkok, according to the criminal complaint filed in federal court in Honolulu. He has been jailed awaiting a detention hearing Wednesday.

Woodward admitted to agents that he wrote the threatening messages, including one sent to the White House website June 22 that read, “Biden … you tried to get me to kill Obama in my home town of El Dorado Kansas. I will kill you myself,” the expletive-filled complaint said. The same email, with the sender self-identified as “Justin Alan Woodward PhD,” mentions 9/11 and al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. It also accuses the vice president of trying to have Woodward assassinated and put under “mind control.”

Another email sent June 26 said, “So Obama, when are we going to get together and smoke some Marijuana … I like the way you work. I am really glad I didn’t blow your head off back there like I was supposed to.”

The Royal Thai Police traced the email’s IP address to a public Wi-Fi access point in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In an interview with a U.S. Consulate official in Thailand, Woodward said he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2002 and served as an infantryman until he was medically discharged for bi-polar disorder two years later. He said he served six months in Iraq and has been treated for post-traumatic stress disorder.

Woodward told a Secret Service agent Aug. 2 that he had been activated to assassinate President Barack Obama when the president was visiting Oklahoma. He also said he wanted to go to Hawaii because the continental U.S. was full of “enemy agents,” according to the complaint. He said he moved overseas because he cannot be trusted around the president or vice president.

Woodward’s status after his interviews in Thailand until his flight to Hawaii was unclear.

    Hello TOD family,
It’s almost time to turn in for the night. But I wanted to tell you about participating in a conference call with President Obama tonight. He talked about the Jobs bill that was sent to Congress today. And once again, he asked all of us to contact our Congressional delegation to urge immediate passage of this legislation. He stressed the importance of contacting Democratic representatives as well as Republicans. The Democrats need to present a united front in this effort and the President needs us, his grassroots supporters, to raise our voices. So, please, everyone take the time to email, phone or write to your Congressional representatives and your U.S. Senators and urge your friends and contacts to do the same. Only a huge response from the American public will move this bill forward. The President will do everything he can to create and bring back jobs – the rest is truly up to us. Thank you, all, and Good Night.

Look at the predictions for our NY-9 seat vacated by Weiner. I rest my case. We can not take anything for granted with the race in 2012. I have used the OFA site to phonebank in that district so I am doing my part. Hopefully the polls are wrong and we are victorious. OT, I am posting this response I made in the active Rethug debate thread to some of the negative feedback I got to a question I feel was legit: You guys I am a diehard supporter and have worked TIRELESSLY for President Obama for 4 years. Bush got into office twice if you all hadn’t forgotten. So lying, cheating, and deception can put the wrong person in the Whitehouse. MY MSM question is legit. I have Obama gear and literature strewn throughout my house. YES, THIS IS THE SITE/BLOG FOR ME. Since when is asking questions make you a TROLL or a NON BELIEVER? Don’t underestimate the ignorance of the electorate. I know our work will be curicial with spreading the truth, but we just have NO help from the media. So my question was LEGIT? That being said, we can agree to be disagreeable and still help re-elect President Obama. There are still millions of Americans who live in darkness so we must work tirelessly to bring them to light. That is why I work for our local OFA chapter here in Columbus, Ohio which the Prez will be making a AJA stop later today. Now folks are mocking my “KEEP HOPE ALIVE” phrase I use for upliftment and encouragement. I will keep pressing on fellow Obamabots. And I still love Chips and this site no matter how folks feel about me. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!! YES WE CAN!! YES WE DID!! AND YES WE WILL AGAIN!! Obama/Biden 2012!!

Yes, I read your reply Chips. It hurts my feelings that you would suspect I am a troll. Heck, I flew to Baltimore to meet relatives and we braved the sub-freezing temps in Washington DC to watch our beloved Prez be inaugurated live and in person. I have worked for OFA 3 years. I donate almost monthly to the Obama re-elect campaign. I would hardly call these type of credentials TROLL-worthy. BTW I love FLOTUS and have a peronalized pic of her and the girls in a frame on my bedroom dresser. Why would I be trying to start UNGODLY gossip about FLOTUS? I was responding and questioning STR’s strange post about her recent activities. I’m through defending myself goodnight all. 😀

Thanks Chips for every everything..but, right now for that Adorable pic of President Obama and the little girl with her precious corn rows. Our children are our future and this President is making our future brighter.

  15. September 13, 2011 at 12:18 am

That debate tonight was one of the most vile things I have seen in my 67 years. A patriotic song to begin? Wolfie walking around like a kind of king ,and people who clap about letting those without insurance die? I am gobsmacked. What in the f..k has happened to this country.

We must not forget who the enemy is. It is tough right now to keep the faith, but it is our responsibility to stand by PBO and do whatever we can to protect him and this country, and I know we will. I also know that all of us on this site understand and believe in humanity and the protection of all citizens. Even I would love to send those heathens who talked about letting the uninsured die, die in hell. What friggin country do we live in? We cannot let them win. How we stop them? I do not know. But we are facing the reality of a country that was altered by the likes of Reagan and The shub. Dumber than a door knobs, but they held great sway in terms of impacting the future of this country.

I know that I do not spend all of my time on this site, but that does not mean I do not love it. I have always been one who loves to roam. It is just my nature. Chipsticks is a queen. She works so hard and has so much faith. I know you do too. Keep the faith brothers and sisters. dr

Hey Dorothy…well said! I didn’t watch..that’s just not me in my 67th year but it’s encouraging to see how bat shit crazy they’re acting out for the teabaggers. They own that and that’s going to follow them all the way through the general vs President Obama.

I think that we should find video of that moment and let it go viral. Nothing is so off-putting as to see the ugliness first hand. Remember Joseph McCarthy was discredited during those television hearings. That audience only represents a small percentage of Americans so we must act to wake people up to what’s going on.

    • September 13, 2011 at 1:18 am

Dorothy, I totally agree. And the GOPMEDIA is enabling and assisting them.

This is going to be a hard war, but I believe we can win it.

However, it’s going to take every last one of us, and everyone we can muster into helping. I strongly believe Rove and the Kochs are going to do everything they can to steal it.

If any of you can help phone bank tomorrow for NY-9, please do.

      • 55 Keith in C-bus, Ohio
        September 13, 2011 at 6:58 am

I will be phonebanking. A loss in Weiner’s old district will sound off some ALARMS. For the Teathugs will trumpet this as a defeat for PBO. The average American no matter their racial or ethnic background just does not understand what is taking place in the Republican party. We have to wake the masses up before it is too late. I do not want to live in a Fascist Dictatorship like a Nazi Germany of the 21st Century. We can win and we can prevail, but it will take a large group of people nationally helping us to victory. Rove and Koch are definately pumping cash into the machine to steal the election. The ingredients are there with all the Voter laws being changed state by state by the Fascist Governors. I will be on the phone, tomorrow is today Tally. Time for ACTION. And thankyou for being a constant force of ACTION on the site. We love and appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment to the cause. Obama/Biden 2012!!

          September 13, 2011 at 8:33 am

We will NOT allow the MSM to interpret a win in this district as a loss for PBO. This district is populated by low information, racist, easily manipulated voters who take their instruction from the likes of Ed Koch and Donald Trump. Anthony Weiner was NOT supportive of President Obama, and he is not tolerant when it comes to issues of race. Incidentally, Donald Trump contributed to Anthony Weiner’s campaign so I’m sure the two of them have a lot in common, particularly when it comes to our President.

      • September 13, 2011 at 10:43 am

Tally, This is a war. I could not believe the the whole ordeal. Singing a patriotic song to start the evening. Those people are wacked. Shiver me timbers mates.

There is a very old psychological game that the Repugs are playing on us and we are all falling predictably for the okie dokie. The intended effect of their outright vileness and vitriol is to inflict 1000 cuts to our confidence and tolerance threshold. They intend to run us out of the public square and the electoral square through noise warfare and psychological IED’s. i wrote about this prospect way back in Sept 2009 when the teabagger hi-jinks began in high gear. Palin was supposed to whip up this same fervor but she came on late and ran out of time before the elections in 2008. This time they think Perry will do the Palin act to the nth degree.

These debates are fashioned to serve as amplifiers of the Palin rally-type vitriol. They plan to hold as many as needed to keep the white hot anger levels optimum. Repug strategist Alex Castellanos confirmed this tonight saying that he’s pleased with the debates cuz “anger beats hope”. That in a nutshell is the ware they are hawking — ANGER

So what do we do? Gird up our loins and deflect it. We cannot allow what is predictable attacks to fluster us. We need to take a page out of the book of the civil rights activists and other people’s revolutionaries in the 20th century. We must keep our eyes on the prize. As I have been saying for sometime now, We need two things: 1) media megaphones, 2) liberal institutions and political machinery to wage the wars of persuasion. It is ultimately a battle of attrition with wingnuts. They do brazen things becaue there is a vacuum on our side that never calls them out loudly and repeteadly, at stronger decibels.

Pres. Obama alone cannot always be fighting an entire right wing conglomerate. He is not superman, neither are we spectators. It saddens me that we sit often in the stands, and cheer him on to perform herculean feats ALONE. One man cannot fight an entire machinery.

Well said ZiZi. I’m a student of Hitler’s rise to power in Nazi Germany in the 1930’s. This so called Teaparty Pep Rally (not debate 🙄 ) is exactly what they are doing and it reminds me of. This is the first of many pep rallies, disguised as debates, to counteract President Obama’s AJA tour across the nation. It will be FEAR and HATE vs HOPE and PROMISE. It is up to the American people to have the latter PREVAIL. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!! Obama/Biden 2012!!
