Mel, I am standing with you and the Latino community, and all Americans that stand for equality, diversity and mutual respect. And we know President Obama stands with us as well.

Thank you for the services of your family members. Please know I pray that they return safely from Afghanistan and that America’s footprint there is reduced as quickly as is responsible. I highly doubt that not only do they not have children serving, none of them have probably served as well. “I ain’t no senators son, I ain’t the fortunate one.”

        Si se puede!

You know Mel, I totally agree with you. I live hear in Southern California where Mexican Americans, besides Native Americans, are the oldest residents. After all this was all part of Mexico until 1848. I am not Latino. But I just couldn’t help but laugh at the idiocy of the people campaigning to make English only the official language of California. These are the same people who reside in such places as: San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, La Jolla, El Cajon, Del Mar, and La Mesa. Some how it never occurred to them that they resided in cities that had Spanish names. For us in California, we know fully well that the Demographic trends are not favorable to white supremacists. The days of the anti-Hispanic/Latino politicians are numbered.

I can’t bring myself to watch any videos chipsticks but your headlines really explains it all. Who advises this idiots to say the dumbest things on this planet. I guess the whole world is laughing at us. Oh dear, I might move to Moneygall if one of these Clowns EVER become President. Sorry I will NOT stay here and watch the decline of this Great country and have them repeal everything PBO has worked heard to put in place.Good night family. Don’t forget to blast CNN tomorrow all day.

This part of the video wasn’t the worst part. He said that Latinos and other immigrants should be forced to learn and speak english because America is a melting pot; not a salad bowl. That’s how Santroum wants to deal with the issue of immigration while running for the highest office in the land. Romney said that if Latinos want a handout, they should vote for democrats. This is how the republican party thinks its going to capture the Hispanic vote in 2012. They’re all a bunch of narrow-minded prejudiced bigots.

the clincher for me was Huntsman response to the woman who said she was from Afghanistan and was brought to the country by Ronald Reagan. She asked what would he do to help the women and children of Afghanistan who were suffering.

His response was stunning. Bottom line, — not a doggone thing.

      These people are disgusting.

Am I allowed to say that Jon Stewart is now mocking the American Jobs Act and Obama’s speech before Congress? And his appearance today before “the Village People”. Making fun of all his past appearances. His “compliment” was to say that he liked “campaign Obama” and not “governing Obama”. Who needs Repubs when you’ve got people like Jon Stewart doing their work for them?

I’m with you gcwp1. Who gives a shit what Jon Stewart likes. He also was an apologist for Bush….see the interview he did with Rachel Maddow. These guys are in the business to stir shit up….it doesn’t really contribute to healthy debate.

Yes you are allowed, by me, Gcwp1! I am so through with Jon Stewart’s self importance! I think he is trying to appeal to the the PL and firebaggers. I have decided to cross him off from the few shows I still watch on television. So, he can be smug all he wants but he will no longer get my click to his show.

Why do we care what Jon Stewart says? I have never watch this guy and don’t ever plan to. I know some people like to watch him, that’s fine, but to hell Stewart and what he say. I’m sick of the guy.

If I was Latino I would be offended…HELL I AIN’T LATINO AND I AM OFFENDED!!!! This is shameful tsk tsk tsk. To these teabaggers if you ain’t white you ain’t belong in America….they need some HISTORY lessons because as I know it whites came to what is now called the United States of America a place already inhabited by the so called native indians. What did they come for a better life….and not to earn it in an honest way but in the most catastrophic way in my opinion throughout all of history. Who are they to tell people where they belong and whether they are legal or illegal. I know many LEGAL, HONEST, HARD WORKING LATINOS who contribute significantly to the economic growth of the USA……send Santorum back to school please…he shouldn’t be worrying about a Presidential post at this level of brain development or should I say underdevelopment!!!!!!!!!!

  9. September 12, 2011 at 11:24 pm

And Ron Paul scares me because je has a progressive following!
Yet, he says he wants to roll back the civil rights laws of the 60s and get rid of EPA, depts of energy and education and thinks ss and Medicare should ne privatized!
Some progressives piss me off, when they say they like Ron Paul! Like Rachel! Did I mention he wants to re instate dadt and is against equal marriage ?
The liking of ron paul from progressives is disconcerting, because he wants to legalize pot and get out of afghanistan! This frustrates the he’ll out of me!

Many so called progressives could care less about Civil Rights! They are more interested in legalizing pot and de-funding the military than they are about race discrimination and gender discrimination. To be truthful, I think the term progressive is really meaningless because it means different things for different people.

President Obama made a “surprise” appearance at a question-and-answer session at the White House Monday afternoon to promote his jobs package.

“I want you guys to pump this up,” Obama told the audience after taking a few questions about the American Jobs Act, which was sent to Congress on Monday. “No, look, we are in a critical juncture here. I’ve been fighting for two-and-a-half years to get through this economic storm, and we have stabilized … but the unemployment rate is still too high, and too many people are still hurting.”

Obama predicted “enormous resistance” to his proposal and urged Americans to push lawmakers to pass the bill so that “Congress gets it done, or if Congress doesn’t get it done, people know exactly what’s holding it up.”

According to the White House, guests at the panel included members of black news organizations including News One, Hello Beautiful, Black Planet, The Urban Daily and Grio. Administration officials at the event included Melody Barnes, Shaun Donovan, Valerie Jarrett, Marie Johns, Ron Kirk and Gene Sperling.

Jarrett, who took the stage after Obama left the room, said of his surprise drop-in: “When the president heard we were here, [he said this was] another important audience for me to deliver my message to.”
