I just got home from volunteering at my local OFA office.

I’m scratching my head at the apathy of Dems after everything they have seen the Repubs do over the last 9 months.

Chips we could use a Call To Action Thread. The DNC needs volunteers to make calls for David Weprin’s election to NY-09 to GOTV Urgently!!!!

Anyone who can make a few online calls please sign up here: http://www.dccc.org/page/contact/splash/ny09

BTW I asked for 5 donations to my fundraiser before I left out this morning and again TOD’ville came through with all the donations needed to meet the challenge we fundraisers were given by the campaign for this weekend.

So A GREAT BIG FAT THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Donna, thanks for your service today! Don’t give up! And I received the email from DCCC today also and made some calls on behalf of NY-09 David Weprin.

    • September 10, 2011 at 8:47 pm

Donna would you keep reminding us of this, please. If I can fight down my nerves, I’ll make some calls, but can’t today and am afraid I’ll get distracted and forget. Remind in multiple threads if you don’t mind.

    Aint that the truth.

For those who couldn’t/didn’t watch the History Channel’s fantastic top-notch documentary “Targerting Bin Laden” it is on right now. It is a must see. I’m watching it for the third or fourth time. The recount of events by President Obama and his NS team is riveting to say the least. With all the odds and uncertainties, President Obama still gave the go ahead. He most certainly has balls of steel.

It was quite brilliant and captivating – I’m watching for the third time.

I am so envious….the first and last reason to regret shutting off our cable. Enjoy!

        • September 10, 2011 at 11:29 pm

Sue in M, I don’t have the History channel and these guys have whetted my appetite, so I went looking to see if maybe I could see it on line. I found the history channel site and apparently Targeting bin Laden is on DVD for $24.95, but it WOULDN’T be shipped until October 18! I’ll just have to wait, I guess. Arrrrgh!

    • September 10, 2011 at 6:43 pm

Darn…I forgot. I should have set it to record days ago. I just hit the button to record the remainder. So I missed the first 38 minutes. 😦
      But thanks for the reminder!

I caught the last 30 min or so. Do you know when it will be back on? It was captivating ( what I saw of it).

If that’s a real picture and not photoshopped, then Perry like Bachmann is incredibly stupid.

    • September 10, 2011 at 6:38 pm

      Marlz, I suspect I won’t sleep tonight.

    • September 10, 2011 at 6:49 pm

OMG…I think it’s photo shopped. It reminds me that I don’t like to eat certain food in public. Ever since I was in the background of a picture eating spaghetti. Who knew that could come across looking so….ew…I won’t say anymore.

    • September 10, 2011 at 7:03 pm

That Ia. fair photo without the background was on Jimmy Fallon last night. He made some humorous remark that now we know what kind of jobs Perry can provide.

Ok……….may this be a lesson to any future candidate for President to NEVER, EVER, eat a corndog in public again.

    • September 10, 2011 at 10:48 pm

…………. Thanks Marlz. I desperately needed that…………. but somehow, given the rate of hypocrisy in the repug party, I wouldn’t be surprised.

My cute family just left. My 87 year old parents’ take on Bachman Perry:” Absolutely nuts.” They loved Obama’s speech and are pre-resenting the efforts the Reps will be to block POTUS’ efforts.

My mother’s quote of the afternoon: “What’s his name – that Mormon Ramsey or something. A MORMON??? Republican is bad enough!” 🙂

Bumper sticker, please, Chips! I got a big fat truck that is so naked right now, except for an old Obama sticker.

    • September 10, 2011 at 8:06 pm

And it’s perfect in that from a distance it would look like pro Republican – so teabaggers and the like would pull up to read it…

That’s a great point….gives you time to get your one finger salute ready when they do pull up….just kidding! That’s one thing I’ve never done…used that hand signal, and now that I think of it I think it’s pretty odd that I haven’t 😉

Pulling back the curtain on Eric Cantor’s duplicity.

Majority Leader Eric Cantor is a hypocrite and his timing is atrocious. How do you introduce a resolution to Never Forget 9/11 and at the same time hold funding for first responders hostage? This is just repulsive behavior.

10 Years of Being Held Hostage. It’s Time to Break Free

On Thursday, the House passed a resolution which vows to “Never forget 9/11.” The resolution was introduced by Eric Cantor. There are some nice words in there. They ask us to remember the victims. They ask us to remember the heroes. They also ask us to remember the war on terror and keep supporting the war on terror.

When I read about the resolution, I was outraged. For 10 years, politicians, especially Republican politicians, have held this country hostage. They have told us to live in fear of Muslims and even suitcases and cows. They have told us that a bogey man is around every corner. They try to make us fear leaving our homes.
In the meantime, first responders are getting sick from the toxins. Their medical bills are going unpaid. Some have died since, and their bodies are not counted with the first 3000. Their families, the same families Eric Cantor claims to honor, are being saddled with medical bills from their lost loved ones.

Just one day after passing Cantor’s resolution, he proposed massive cuts to first responders. Not only is he cold, callous and disingenuous, he suffers from tragically bad timing.

What an ugly hypocrite…..I think we should never forget the lives that we lost because of 9/11….thousands of them wether from the actual event, or the illnesses that have been suffered since. Or the men and woman, American and otherwise that have been sacrificed to war.
Or the hatred and division that our fears fueled. No, we need to learn from this horrible event and be better, and bigger because of it. That’s what we owe those that lost their lives.

Remember durin’ and after natural disasters (tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes), this is the same elected TeaPUBLICAN official, who doesn’t care about his constituencies, stated “offsets” before relief…

Did he have any Aug recess townhalls?

This apathetic person needs to go!

So, WE need to TWEET/RT, FB, EMAIL, etc. about him…on a continuous loop, “BRING IT TO THE LIGHT!”

      Let’s JUST DO IT!!! 😉

By the way, w/my response to a PBHO email, I’m emailin’ this and this one w/it:

ON EVE OF 9/11 ANNIVERSARY, CANTOR INSISTS ON MASSIVE CUTS TO FIRST RESPONDERS IN EXCHANGE FOR EMERGENCY DISASTER AID… http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/09/10/316237/on-eve-of-911-anniversary-cantor-insists-on-massive-cuts-to-first-responders-in-exchange-for-emergency-disaster-aid/
