Addicting Info: ….. On Thursday, the House passed a resolution which vows to “Never forget 9/11”. The resolution was introduced by Eric Cantor. There are some nice words in there. They ask us to remember the victims …. They also ask us to remember the war on terror and keep supporting the war on terror.
When I read about the resolution, I was outraged. For 10 years, politicians, especially Republican politicians, have held this country hostage. They have told us to live in fear of Muslims….
They use 9/11 to acquire and to hold power… They use 9/11 to propagate their neocon agenda…. They use 9/11 to distract us. While we’re worried about the brown person next door, they steal our livelihoods … They use 9/11 to pander to us…
In the meantime, first responders are getting sick from the toxins. Their medical bills are going unpaid. Some have died since, and their bodies are not counted with the first 3000. Their families, the same families Eric Cantor claims to honor, are being saddled with medical bills from their lost loved ones.
Just one day after passing Cantor’s resolution, he proposed massive cuts to first responders….
…. I have reached my boiling point when it comes to fear mongering, manipulation and empty lip service …. In our own way, each American is a victim of that day’s tragedy. All Americans have been held hostage for 10 years …. Anyone who truly believes that Cantor is helping the American people or the more direct victims of 9/11 is suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

Thank you Ladyhawke
Everything is coming to light!
Little by little we are finding out the damage that was done in the name of “9/11” by the repugs!
All I can say is contact Cantor’s office Monday about the two bills. Let him know we are watching. Twitter. Facebook. Call. Write. Something. I do feel upset that this kind of behavior is happening, but I don’t want to be upset. I don’t feel good. I lose focus. I pay attention to them rather than president Obama or electing Democrats. But once I see something like this I definitely want them to hear from me. Thanks for letting me know, Chipsticks.
I’ll join you in that effort. Eric Cantor disgusts me, America deserves better.
I will also Suzanne jusst as Sue stated. Suzanne, remember we are all in this together. We will choose what we feel is best for you to focus on. Do not make yourself sick. I really understand how you feel in the manner in which your comment reads, however, do what you feel comfortable in doing to bring the change about. We will all work together to bring great change. You are not in this alone. Just do not make yourself sick. We need each other. Ok. Hugs coming your way.HZ
Excellent Suzanna. Let us not forget.
And *WE* shall NEVER FORGET!! 😦 😦 😦
This needs to go viral. The connection needs to be seen, loud and clear….the author of this moving piece has connected the dots and drawn a straight line. It will be a “light bulb moment” for many that have long been in denial. On this day, at this tumultuous time…this needs to be seen by everyone. Thank you, Ladyhawke….I got you addicted to Addicted Info:) Nice job. Spread this on the wind.
Eric cantor and the GOP are so synical and soo pathetic, The think we are so STUPID to buy all of sudden their crap
They have been 9/11 tragedy for their own political game it’s time to STOP this bull shit, so let the MSM that we do not
buy any of their bull shit and pass the JOB’S bill NOW.
Cantor has hidden his dirty deeds for a long time. He has made himself so prominent, that now people are taking notice and finaly calling hi on his actions. This is the best thing that could happen. His evil is now seen in the light.
oh my, typed too fast. “finally” calling “him” on
I said it before and I’ll say it again. If I had one wish right now, it would be to kick Eric Cantor, John Boehner, and Paul Ryan out of office in 2012.
Add McConnell to that list!
As a matter of fact add ALL of the repugs to that list!
🙂
I think McConnell doesn’t run for re-election in 2014. If Dems keep the Senate majority in 2012, I think he likely steps down as minority leader before being voted out by his caucus.
Who would be their heir apparent? Hope the door doesn’t hit him on the way out 😀
Par for the course. They’ll have a grandstand bill like this, a stand alone, “look at how patriotic we are” bill that they’ll trumpet about while pillaging spending on the same folks in the budget, largely undoing everything of the grandstand bill sometimes in one line of the budget.
Hey everyone! Had an awesome day registering voters in Indianapolis. People can’t wait to vote for President Obama in 2012. Fired up to keep this state blue.
Yahoo, proudofobama!!! That’s great news. Thanks for the report and thank for the reminder of what is important.
Thank you proudofobama. I also went out talked to some people about ‘The American Jobs Act’ the Open enrollment period for their insurance, jobs and the solutions to the nasty tone in Washington. People are ready and willing to vote for POB again. Great day!.HZ
That is so great to hear!
Like I said on another thread, he has a look about his face that deserves to smacked!
Smacked, punched. You wonder what made him like this. Has to be something very deep, very dark.
I concur!
I’m watching “Voices from Inside the Towers” on the History Channel. Maybe that should be required viewing for all of these heartless Republicans in Congress. I truly think they have lost their souls.
I’ve been watching 9/11 documentaries today, too. I am outraged at the GOP and how they’ve used 9/11, forfeighted the world’s trust through their illegal actions and disrespected/abandoned those who ran into burning buildings or rummaged through wreckage looking for survivors and bodies. It’s an outrage. I hope people do call on Monday, and every day after that until these heartless animals are removed from office. I hope people don’t forget on Sept 12, what these people have been doing for the past ten years. It’s horrible.
When I heard Cheney say he didn’t believe we had lost the respect of the world, I thought, ” Right, No wonder he thinks all that he did was the right thing to do! He has lost touch with reality.”
Immediately after 9/11 the world felt our pain and supported us. Then we started the Iraq war. Right after we had gotten into the Iraq war I happened to travel to Italy with my sister-in-law to visit my college age daughter who was studying opera there. The two of us travelers were confronted with demonstrations against Americans, chanting, and nightly speeches in the square our hotel was situated on. We had decided we would pretend to be Canadians if we were stopped. It was a time of being embarrassed when abroad due to being an American. Our country was disrespected and hated for starting the war. When I travel during this presidency it is entirely different, a complete turn around.
This is a story that needs to be sent to the local affiliates in his district, such as news papers and local news stations….believe me it works!
If I was Eric Cantor’s Mother I would disown him. He is a mean nasty bastard. I would ask God why was I cursed.
His mother barks! He should be heaved over the side with a mooring line ’round his neck, in shark infested waters and dragged under slow power so the sharks can conserve their energy.
Is it wrong to laugh at this, because if it is I need to ask to be forgiven 👿
***hollering***
It sickens me how the Republicans exploited 9/11 for political gain… from getting us bogged down into Iraq, exploiting the fear card to help Bush get re-elected, the Patriot Act… just disgusting.
And already Fox News is playing the “Obama is soft on terrorism” chestnut, just one day before the 10 year anniversary of this tragic event. They’re going to call the President, who gave those NAVY SEALS the order to put a bunch of bullets in the skull of the man who masterminded this tragic event “soft on terrorism”?
I hope that we all put aside the partisan politics tomorrow and remember the tragic event and respectfully pay tribute to those who died in the towers, Pentagon, and the airplanes. It’s disgusting how divided we’ve become as a nation since that day, all over silly political bullshit. We should be better than that, and learn to respect each other despite our differences, that was what that day brought us to do. On that day and in the short months afterwards, we were united, until President Bush and his administration decided to exploit the event for political gain, and we’ve been divided ever since.
How do FOXbots connect those two dots, weak, President Obama? They can’t possibly have brain cells if they connect those two dots.
😯
I have no doubt Fox, Ailes, Rush and co hope there is another successful terrorist attack. That is how depraved they are. I wouldn’t put it past come elected Republicans either. That is what we’re dealing with.
That thought has crossed my mind more than once.
I just tweeted Richmond Virginia the following:
@RTDNews on EVE of Anniversery, Eric Cantor insists on massive cuts to first responders in exchange for emergency disaster aid
That was Richmond Times Dispatch, a news paper that covers his district.
Good work!
On a semi related topic, I’m creating a Youtube playlist of songs for the 10 year anniversary of 911, and here are the songs I’ve picked out thus far:

Evanescence – My Immortal
Mariah Carey – Hero
Chad Kroeger ft. Josie Scott – Hero

He need Obama help, He trying to get nice with Obama because Turkey is not taking this bull any more. He just a bulliy and after some one stand up to him he calls on the USA to fight his battles. And still the Media not go to cover this, It will be like Obama was right all along.
Netanyahu praises Obama, Egyptian authorities
By Ami Eden · September 10, 2011
Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Obama have had their ups and downs, but Saturday Bibi had high praise after the United States help Israel evacuate its embassy in Cairo. For that matter, Netanyahu also praised the Egyptian forces:
I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the United States, Barack Obama.
I asked for his help. This was a decisive and fateful moment. He said, “I will do everything I can.” And so he did. He used every considerable means and influence of the United States to help us. We owe him a special measure of gratitude. This attests to the strong alliance between Israel and the United States. This alliance between Israel and the United States is especially important in these times of political storms and upheavals in the Middle East. I wish to cite also the intervention of the Egyptian Commandos which prevented a tragedy. We maintained direct channels of communication throughout the night with the Egyptian government. It was clear to all that the defense of an Embassy, and particularly the Israeli Embassy, is the obligation of any sovereign state.
‘This alliance between Israel and the United States is especially important in these times of political storms and upheavals in the Middle East.’
So the alliance is only important to Netanyahu when he is in a bind? Fortunately for him our President is a bigger leader than he will ever be.
I still remember Netanyahu’s behaviour from earlier in the year when he both ‘dissed’ the President on his own home turf and tried to undermine him before Congress. I do not have any respect for him, and I have been waiting for him to get his comeuppance. That said, I’m proud of the President’s ready response to his call for help for his Egyptian embassy. I wonder if Netanyahu will apologize to the President when he has to negotiate from the starting point of the 1967 (?) borders as the President had proposed?
I remember that episode with Nettie. I will never forgive the house and senate for standing with Nettie instead of PBO. It was pure politics. Do they not understand they chose to lay in bed with the repugs rather than PBO. I feel shame for them. I am also still angry. Asshats.
I wonder if it was kabuki. With the UN vote coming up, and the US going to likely be the only vote against Palestinian statehood, I wonder if the plan is to have Obama seem forced by congress rather than acting on his own with that decision. Because the US is painted into a corner – they have to stand by Israel, but doing so could undo a lot, if not all, good will the Obama Administration has worked hard to win over. Could the Administration be trying to thread the needle where the US strongly supports Israel while the President still keeps some good will from the Arab streets?
Could be…let me say I’m not a fan of Kabuki theater…..to obtuse for my skill set.
This was not the first time Nettie (I like this, Dorothy 😉 ) had shown less than respect for the President’s position, so I don’t think it was theatre, but what do I know? All I can say with confidence is that I instinctively dislike those who show disrespect to my President, those who try to make him look naive or incompetent. They are not successful in the long run, and he is strong enough to wait them out, but I resent them for trying!
I remember how some tried to say that President Obama had turn on Israel, which I knew was not true. Have CNN or MSNBC reported this story?
I’m sure PBO would be more gracious, but since I’ve never pretended to be even moderately decent, Bibi can go suck it.
Suck his own. He probably already does that. Sorry, but this issues burns me up. Anger.
This mofo is a germ and the only vaccine that can kill it is the light of truth.
Well I released my anger I sent the story to CBS and NBC local affiliates within his district.

Rewatching “Targeting Bin Laden” what was the deal with the bin Laden compound keeping the cricket(?) balls from the local kids, instead paying them off? Why not just give the ball back? My only guess is that they were taking the opportunity to get toys for the kids in the compound or something.
Also it is concerning that bin Laden had known AQ operatives visit him in the days leading up to the raid. AQ is known to plot things well in advance, with 9/11 said to have been hatched two+ years in advance did he need face-to-face meetings for the final go-ahead and did he give them in those mere days before the raid? With bin Laden’s focus on the 10th anniversary and wanting to attack on that day tomorrow is going to be a very long, intense day.
What channel is this on?
History
right now, the History channel on my cable is showing Kennedy bio
Sorry not right now. I just got around to commenting on it from my DVR.
I just discovered I have History Channel. I didn’t know before because when you click the up down channel button, it skips over 65 and goes straight to 66. I decided to fiddle around with my remote and found it. Mine tv is showing the Kennedy’s home movies.
ps- didn’t know Jack had been in so much pain. He looked like such a little boy. What a cutie!!
It’s going to be a depressing day. I remember where I was 10 years ago on that day: in highschool doing a tech class, when they announced over the intercom that planes hit the Twin Towers. After I got home that afternoon, my dad was saying that he knew who was behind the attacks: Osama bin Laden, and he turned out to be correct.
I’m going to keep my 9/11 Youtube playlist updated with as many songs/videos as I possibly can, to remember those who sacrificed their lives on that tragic day. Truly one of the most painful days many of us as Americans ever went through, but speaking for myself, the most painful day for me was losing my mother to cancer a year before… so I guess I can empathize with those who lost their loved ones on that day and share their pain.
I was in high school in a history class i think. that’s where we heard the news. They grabbed the tv and let us watch it. I remember feeling like there was no way it could have been real. I felt numb, I didn’t know what to do or how to feel. I think at one point I wanted to persuade myself that it wasn’t real. The rest of the day we were all on hyper alert because there were fears that the attacks would have a wider scope. People were worried that operatives in florida would also attack. A lot of parents came to get their kids out of school that day.
You’ll never forget that memory, either. I was in high school when JFK was assassinated in 1963, and it seems like yesterday to me. I remember every detail from that day and the next several.
My grandchildren were in elementary school on 9/11. They were so worried until their Mommy came to pick them up at school. Still makes me sad to know how scared they felt, without even fully understanding what had happened.
I hope the american people are fed up with the republican party using 9/11 as their sacred event to use it as their badge of honor then in the same breathe deny and cut any funds to help these heros and brave men and women who have become sick due to their selflessness. God give me patience!
“Targeting Bin Laden” amazing to watch the planning and execution of the raid. It was hard to even take my eyes off the tv. I am so proud of our CIC and his team. He could have call off the raid on the advice of his advisors but he kept faith in the abilities of our military to get the job done and return home.
I wonder who said go for it and who said not to do it. Brennan seems to be one of the “go for it’s”, I’m betting Gates was against it. Would be interesting hearing which side Sec. Clinton came down on. I’d have to guess Biden would have been for it.
I’ve felt Brennan and Gates were for it, but Sec. Clinton and Biden were against it. Not sure why, but that’s my take.
thought about it and I think I agree with you, Jacquelinebloomers
oops…that s/b Jacqueline Oh Bloomers
No, it was Gates and Clinton who was against it! They thought it was to risky!
Gates and Clinton have seen eye to eye, on a whole range of issues!
I don’t think Gates would want to risk it, he was so personally invested in the soldiers safety, and he was set to retire. It just doesn’t seem like it fits. Brennan I could see supporting it. Oh who the heck knows…….Someday I hope we are privvy to all the goings on in this administration……it will be fascinating to read.
Sonjia, I too, was riveted. That’s why I am so baffled at the people who can’t find anything nice to say about PBO, instead of keeping their mouths shut, they call him “weak.” These people seriously need a head check.
In case anyone reading TOD is even remotely wondering if the NYTimes is indistinguishable from Murdoch/Koch/et al intent to undermine President Obama – and, in doing so, the vast majority of Americans, you can dispel any doubts by reading this bit of yellow journalism:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/11/us/politics/11obama.html
We full well know the enemy of the vast majority of Americans – the ultra-wealthy and the newstainers who spin whatever hateful crap required to retain, ever more breathlessly, their unearned, unpatriotic, avaricious and hate-filled grip on the unleashing of the most potent and hopeful era in the history of our Republic.
We know the enemy of our Republic, just as Lincoln and others knew, full well, in 1861.
We are the people whom must defend and strengthen and extend the promise of our Republic for those here with us today and generations to come.
The NYTimes, no different than the Wall St. Journal, Fox News, the broadcast networks and cable are all aligned against the Constitutional rights of ALL Americans and they are definitively aligned against the greatest President the Republic has ever had (with very few exceptions) since its inception.
You know the enemy. It is within. Al Queda and any other external group does not have even the slightest chance of prevailing compared to the potency and hell-bent, unwavering and totally vicious assault on the Republic than that being coordinated and perpetrated by the elitist few and their media hacks.
Only twice in the history of our Republic have we ever faced a more determined and desperate enemy – 1776 and 1861.
We must prevail.
Yes.We.Can. (and MUST) … DO.More.Together!
PUMAS, left wing special interests and house democrats are definitely against him! He does not allow special interests or lobbysts in the WH, so, they go to the press to get what they want!
Albeit, we have common ground, we dislike republicans!
That said, it would be wise to watch our backs, the President is battling 100 years of DC theatrics, both parties are knee deep in shit!
I fullly agree, Bobfr,
That was the warning contained in the Homeland Security document that GW Bush ordered and PBO and Secretary Napolitano released in 2009. I think that that was the reason the GOPers screamed as loud as they did when the report stated that the biggest threat to this country wasn’t the external terrorists but rw extremists living in the country. The republicans went nuts, claiming that the report was a smear on them, but it wasn’t. I always wondered why they went nuts because the report specifically used the term “extremists,” if they didn’t consider themselves extremists. I also got the idea that some of their faux outrage was because the party leaders are well aware of the fact that they have allowed the extremists to take over their political party. Just because the Koch Bros, Norquist, Armey, and others, are very wealthy doesn’t mean that they aren’t extremists, because, imo, they’re just as extremist as the tea partiers they funded in 2009 and 2010.
DeFazio has been complaining about the President for a while now, as for all the others. What reason can they have to be going to the NYT and making negative comments? i am so sick of these people. But then none of them supported PBO ever.
This is why the only person getting any money for me is PBO.
This story should be sent to the DWS, who is head of the DNC and people should note, that crap like this is why they refuse to donate.
Chipsticks, I hope you will find a way to share this video about our totally courageous Libyan sisters and brothers with everyone:
Thank you.
Yes.WE.Can. … DO.More.Together!
On 10 Sept 2010, no person on this planet is likely to have envisioned what Libyans have accomplished and now have lived on 10 Sept 2011. The world is a better place because of their courage and commitment to human dignity and justice.
As we look for lessons in the decade since 11 Sept 2001, we might well reflect on the core message of America to those Libyans whom are forging a just, dignified and empowering future for their Nation – a core message of the inalienable rights of every person.
The only answer to terrorist is not fear but an incessant commitment to FREEDOM.
Yes.WE.Can. … DO.More.Together!
Wow. I can only admire and respect their courage and determination, and in my heart celebrate their hard fought battle for freedom. I am moved to tears.
So true, Sue.
And, without the incredible leadership of our President Obama not only would that video have never been possible but many if not most of the people in it would now be buried in mass graves.
Reality.
Yes.WE.Can. … AND MUST … DO.More.Together!
My 11 Sept 2011 letter to President Obama
Dear Mr President,
On 10 Sept 2010, no person on this planet is likely to have envisioned what Libyans have accomplished and now have lived on 10 Sept 2011.
The only answer to terrorists is not fear but an incessant commitment to FREEDOM.
Without your incredible leadership not only would the celebrations throughout Libya have never been possible but many if not most of the people celebrating their valiantly earned freedom would be in mass graves – today.
Reality.
Yes.WE.Can. … AND MUST … DO.More.Together!
Thank you,
Bob
Nice message.
Beautifully said. Thank you.
My 9/11 Memorial Playlist:
I also saw the History Channel special on the operation to kill Osama bin Laden, and let me say that our President took a HUGE risk that paid off. This is one 9/11 anniversary where bin Laden will NOT be around to celebrate killing Americans, and very appropriate for the 10 year mark. Of course many Americans will be mourning the loss of their loved ones from that tragic day, but at least there is a sense of closure, knowing that the man that masterminded the attacks that took their loved ones away is now dead, that justice has finally been taken.
And here is our President announcing the death of Osama bin Laden
I remember watching that announcement live and thinking what a dignified, thoughtful speech from President Obama, no triumphalism, no chest thumping just facts and compassion for those lost as a result of bin Laden’s reign of terror.
I can’t believe Eric Cantor, what a despicable little man!
I won’t dwell on the negative today however out of respect for all the fallen heroes. My heart goes out to all affected by the tragic events of 10 years ago. You are all in my thoughts and prayers today and always. I will be watching the events today and spending time in quiet contemplation. I am so grateful that you have such a compassionate President and First Lady and I pray that they are safe and that they feel the love of a grateful world.
God bless President and First Lady Obama and God bless America.
Sending my love to each and every one of you here on TOD and Thank you chipsticks for this blessed oasis of sanity.
Today as we remember the people we lost and pray for their families, we can be glad about one thing, at least Osama bin Laden will not be sitting around patting himself on the back for the horror he caused that day. Thanks to the wonderful leadership of our President, and the people who came up with all the info, and the brave Navy Seals, bin Laden is at the bottom of the ocean, or in Hell.
Please make this video VIRAL:
Rat bastards the both of them (Cantor/Ryan). So Ryan thinks we seniors should just STFU, and take our meds, while he screws us out of soc. sec. & medicare. Bump that.
very well put. It’s a disgrace how the true heroes of 9/11 have been swept under the rug while the politicians have used them and 9/11 in general to further their causes.
