I want Pete Souza to do new headshots for me. ;D

Off Topic….. sorry for the hijack

good nws – passed my Insurance license test. I can haz brainz.

Now I can concentrate on tonight’s HOT MEN RUNNING sporting event at the HDC, and rehearsal for mah show.

speaking of mah show….. ok – I’m in a good mood, so here are links to REALLY BAD VIDEO – our only lighting is lanterns and torches – and it’s shot on a Canon 7D – so best vid I can get…… It’s the first part of the Edward Gorey group I’m in (and direct, along with all the other Poe pieces except one.) We do three other things after this silly bit. We’re the comic relief of the evening, so you don’t go home and stab yourself in the head after all the Poe. Keep in mind this is only one peice out of 11 that night, all over the grounds of http://huntington.org

it’s in two parts because…… for some reason the shooter broke it up – no idea why. The 2nd part is funnier, but you won’t understand it unless you watch part 1. (around 7 min total for both)

Oui! Zee blonde MADAME c’est moi!! And MERCI!!!!!

We did it straight for about 3 years, then I played The Courtezan in Comedy of Errors, which is usually played by a very LARGE woman, because somehow….. that’s ….funny…. And I was thinking.. hmmmmm I’m a whopping 122, 5’4″, WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE FUNNY???

**I KNOW** I make her FRENCH!!! Because there is a line, “I hope you do not mean to cheat me so!” Which can be said, “EYE ‘OPE you do not mean to SHEET me zo!” And I geet beeg laff because I zay SHeeet! πŸ˜†

I decided that year to make my little group French as well. All my boys are improv guys, so no two shows are the same. That said, when we discover something hilarious, we keep it, like, “That is because you are not a woman.”

            We have a blast. πŸ˜€

She acts, politics, writes…damn, Lady – I am so impressed! I’ve got actiing types in my family (soap operas) and among friends. They are always so much fun, larger than life. My son attended an elementary school which focussed on the performing arts, and was lead in a few things. The actress Jane Alexander came to a performance. (so did Joe Lieberman 😦 ) But me, I pass out crossing from one end of the stage to the other (accompanying my Special Ed students)

I hope someday when you accept your Emmy or Oscar, you’ll thank the TOD gang. Suerte!

      • September 9, 2011 at 9:02 pm

I want to be a Good/Evil twin on a soap!!!! That would be EPIC!!!

My problem is here in LA, you need to be a male under 25 to get ANYTHING. sucks bad. Ah well….. gotta just keep on making my own shit I guess. πŸ˜€

If any of your FRIENDS in the BIZ live in LA, tell them to come see the show, the FRAKKIN HIRE ME if they can!!

(they need to get tickets soon – we always sell out. This is our 9th year.)

I would, Tallly, but my folks are NY theater based. My husband’s cousin is in LA. His name is Austin Peck, on one soap or another.

          Best luck!

          Hi Tally,

I am going see if I can get tickets and hopefully get to say hi. I am pasadena near allen, so I am very close to the Huntington.
          The video was great.

          • September 9, 2011 at 9:42 pm

if you get tickets, email me so I can get you a program in advance, and you can plan your method of attack – there are 11 things, and only 6 performance times, so you have to chose wisely (and make sure you see MEEEEE) – I can help. πŸ˜€

Fantastic pictures. I do want to say…when you contact congress…please consider using the Post Office. Go out, buy a roll of stamps tomorrow…mail your letters and let’s keep them in business. Keep them and use them all year. I know my parents enjoy hearing from me via US mail as well as email.

    Pass the bill!!!

proud – That is an idea that should be sent to the President, to incorporate in his next speech! There are a gazillion of us, and we’ll bring the Post Office debt down, one book of stamps at a time! Great idea. Can you send it to the White House?

    Once again, stunning pictures.

Ack…. everytime I see Cantor he gives me the creeps. With that phony smile and hokey fake accent. Dude looks like he lacks a soul. Uggh…. just creepy.

OT, but 31 million people watched Obama’s Job Speech last night!

Having the speech before the game was a good idea, and I contend that more people watched it because of the “speech-timing” kerfluffle. If Boehner was trying to “trick” POTUS by having the speech the same day as NFL kick-off, it certainly backfired.

    @lamh32: @Valdivia:

here’e the write up from reuters:

Obama’s Thursday night address to a joint session of Congress drew a bigger audience than both his March speech on U.S. military involvement in Libya (25.6 million) and his August 2010 speech declaring the end of the U.S. combat mission in Iraq (29.2 million)

Nielsen ratings data showed that 31.4 million viewers watched Obama’s address on jobs, which was carried live across 11 TV networks.

The TV audience, however, fell well short of the more than 56 million who watched the president announce the killing of Osama bin Laden in May.

Shortly after Obama closed his remarks, 27.2 million people watched the professional football’s NFL kick off its season. Nielsen said the season opener between the Saints and the Packers on NBC was the second most-watched NFL regular season primetime game on any one network in 15 years.

More people watched the speech than the actual NFL kickoff game by about 4 million

A not-deep observation about that shot of the Chamber, from behind the President as he spoke: did word go out to the women to wear their red Power Suit jackets? Like little candle-flames (with classy lapels) among all those dark suits.

Also did anyone notice No teleprompters! Atleast I didn’t see any. We need to keep reminding them they lie!

        September 9, 2011 at 9:15 pm

Actually there was a teleprompter; it was off camera. All Presidents use one in situations such as that. But I firmly believe he would still have knocked the speech out of the park without a teleprompter; it was all in the delivery. πŸ™‚

Because he knows his topic, he ain’t faking nothin’… When someone speaks from the heart as this man does, he needs no reminder of what he wants to say.

      • September 10, 2011 at 12:57 am

The teleprompters are those see-through glass things seen in the 4th and 5th pics (5th ones harder to see).

The funniest thing about the link was the second story after the ratings story … entitled “A LITTLE BIT LOUDER NOW.” It’s a line from an old Isley Brothers song called “Shout,” and the writer was describing the high level of the President’s voice during his address to Congress. Bravo, Mr. President! I know I sat up and took notice! (I would have anyway!)

I remember dancing to that song in high school and we all joined in singing the line “A little bit louder now” each time it came up.

Can anyone explain to me how Eric Cantor got the job of following the President in? Does the President choose? Or does the Speaker choose? I don’t remember Cantor being there before

Wow, indeed. That’s some powerful stuff and yet another reason why emoprogs and CBC need to STFU long enough to understand that this is much, MUCH bigger than them. We already know the GOTP can’t buy a clue, but you’d think our own would know better. It’s not all about you. Perspective and context, people! ^5 to the part about double standards and Clinton. Preach.

  11. September 9, 2011 at 9:25 pm

Gosh, I’m in love with that last pic with Biden.(sigh) I’d already seen it alongside Obama and Boehner in another thread, but something just struck me. Even though Obama had this huge grin on his face with ol “I’m tanner than you” dude, the mutual respect you see with his VP is a helluva lot more compelling. Almost like a father to son thing. I wouldn’t doubt for one sec that Joe’s telling him to “go get ’em Barack, I got your back…”

It shows the depth of genuine respect and concern for the work they are trying to achieve together. A perfect match, and they both recognize that fact. I loved this pic, too, Oh Wow, were my words out loud!

Tally, Great job well done. When we first met here, I told you there were great things in store for you and for Chipsticks. Remember? I have a little flower shop near my home, and there I will purchase a very special flower for Tally’s Celebration tomorrow. Love you Tally. Congratulations, my dear friend. I do unthinkable things because I love goodness of energy around me, and I also enjoy sending it out there for beautiful people. You are one of those beautiful people within our TOD Family. It is the actions behind and within the energy that makes it all sweet for the universe. Tomorrow is Tally’s celebration day in my home. Love you my dear friend. HZ

      Thank you so MUCH HZ!

And I am truly relieved this sucktastic exam is OVER and I don’t have to retake the damn thing. I might just treat myself to a little Vickiy’s Secret….. love me some sales!

Actually, the performance is next month – Oct 8th. But EVERYDAY is AWESOME around here!

I’m still hoping you might be able to make it.

I just love the look on Nancy Pelosi’s face too! Cannot wait to see her little-big self back in the speaker chair, a much more inspirational backdrop for our prez that the one who sits there now, grinding his teeth and wringing his hands. Shameful performance, but I’m glad 31.5 million Americans watched him being non-participatory during this speech.
