we can expect a hoffa-like media storm, right?

Think Progress: Today, Bradblog’s Brad Friedman reports for Mother Jones about a secret meeting that the right-wing oil billionaire Koch brothers held at a Colorado resort in June with hundreds of wealthy donors who plotted to finance right-wing causes and elect conservative politicians.

Friedman reports that audio he obtained from the conference reveals that Charles Koch alarmingly referred to President Obama as “Saddam Hussein,” saying that the right had to fight the “mother of all wars”. He rallied his guests to donate millions of dollars to help defeat Obama and boost other right-wing causes….

…… Koch read off a list of 32 donors who gave a million dollars or more to his efforts to build up far-right infrastructure…

It’s good for this information to become public. The light eventually shines on those who operate in darkness.

      Spot on, Carolyn.

My mom always told me that anything you do in the dark nefariously will come to light. Glad that this is out. I am going to tweet Morning Joke, et al. and ask if this pass the test for their outrage meter.

Absolutely. The nerve of them. The media won’t point out these disgusting freaks who refer to President Obama as Saddam Hussein and who want to infiltrate all levels of government and destroy the middle class and average Americans of all stripes who don’t have a gazillion zeros behind their names.

To me, this is the information that should be spread far and wide. We need someone in the MSM to shine a light. I mean, this is for all the marbles. They are at war with this country, the people and all that we have known and hold dear about this country. These billions are funding the tea party who are just pawns for the Koch Bros. evil corporate/Christian fringe right vision for the takeover of this country. They are the ones who have accumulated most of the wealth and are refusing to hire, trying to shut down this economy in order to destroy Obama and the Democratic Party. This is absolutely frightening. It is imperative that the voting public be made aware.

The No-publicans constantly create these faux indignities when they do much worst to the president and say nothing. Ron Reagon is right, they feel they are the Lords of America and NO democrat should ever be president or have any power in this country. They are the only ones who deserve respect and no one else. I think the American people ignore these demands for apologies and get disgusted with Dems who apologize when none is warranted. I hope Hoffa tells them to kiss is arse.

Hoffa was on the Bill Press radio show this morning, and he says that he is NOT apologizing. All callers agreed with him 100%.

Here’s some insight into Perry’s election bid strategy: http://nachofiesta.com/quinnblog/From_the_Ground/Entries/2011/9/5_Perry_Bails_on_DeMint_Forum%2C_Poaches_Key_2008_Romney_Endorser_Anyway.html
By the way, Sean Quinn is a stellar reporter and followed the 08 campaign on the ground. From the Ground is worthwhile reading for anyone who wants to follow the clown car/short bus/circus from the perspective of a veteran campaign writer.

My heart was pounding while listening to this audio clip…that sick feeling that enters the soul. War has been declared..against us the working (or trying to work) middle class, and those that want to crush us with money and bought politicians. I’m sick, we MUST stick together, you hearing this PL types?

This should be sent to Hoffa Jr so he can point to it specifically when he’s interviewed as the press looks to make him a story.

I so admire some of the super wealthy who use most of their money for good and philanthropic causes, like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, and contribute to the common good here and around the world. These named people who hang with the Koch brothers are contributing to nothing but buying votes for the Republicans, so they can grab and keep more money. Trouble is – when you check the list – there’s not much we can boycott to hurt their bottom line. The most we can do is send in our individual small donations, so President Obama can afford to get his message out directly to the American people.

    Four more years!

I ran across an interesting observation yesterday, and I am not passing judgment. However, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and George Soros are all non-believers and have given away billions and believe the wealthy should pay more taxes. Where are the right wing Bible thumpers?

Bill, with all due respect to those who strive to live a Chritian life, those that use religion as leverage in their struggle for power are the devils pawns. And for those that they manage to herd and exploit in it’s name, their religion becomes an excuse for their own human failings. I grew up in the Lutheran religion, we were active and involved, I am grateful for that foundation. I believe in God and prayer and the potential that another life exists outside of the one I am currently living. But I am not religious. And as Maya Angelou implied being a Christian isn”t a declaration, it is an action. And it is something we must continue to act on for the duration of our lives, it’s not a destination, it is a journey, as is life.

Sarah Palin is such a brilliant example of talk that doesn’t match the walk. Jesus didn’t condone hate, Sarah reveals in it. ‘Nough said.

          Sue, well said.

        • September 6, 2011 at 1:18 pm

Well, I tell you Christians sometimes get a bad rap, so I consider myself a strong *Struggling* Christian, meaning that I sin, and fall short, but I have a strong sense of belief. but Is having to ask for forgivness daily. I ask for forgivness because I confess that I fall down sometimes, however, the good book says that things are not always as they appear, It may seem and look gloomy for PBO at times, but we must keep on TRUSTING In the LOrd, and PRAYING, anyhow. There’s work for US to do as well. We must Believe, Pray, and Work to reach our goals. So my final comment Is to Keep The Faith, and don’t give up 🙂

I wonder if the Left could make a similar million dollar donor list? Or if any billionaires from the Left are thinking about fundraising among their peers to build up a Left infrastructure, like a media network with a mandate for disseminating truth? A poor inquiring mind would like to know.

  7. September 6, 2011 at 11:13 am

i wonder what the knuckle draggers would say if this photo were promulgated with a gun site superimposed on the nose?

  8. September 6, 2011 at 11:14 am

Hoffa Jr said what he said in front of a crowd of 20,000 and television cameras. Koch has a secret, invitation only retreat to says what he says.

Butbutbut…the right wingers and billionaires LOVE Obama! He’s their Trojan horse Democrat-busting Manchurian candidate! At least, that’s what the biggest “progressive” blogs told me…

  10. September 6, 2011 at 11:30 am

I can’t even talk about this.

More twitter material for the Morning Joke gasbags…..

Steve Benen is pitch perfect on this nonsense….

    Hoffa and the Fainting Couch

This is all pretty silly. If the right is comfortable with Rick Perry’s comments about Ben Bernanke, and Sarah Palin’s “reload” cliche, and Mitt Romney talking about “hanging” Obama, I think conservatives can probably stop clutching the pearls over Hoffa’s line about voting.

I concur with Sue on the comments made above. I also concur with Lisa on not listening to the vile voice of this man. These people will pay dearly in the moral and treating others with respect phases of life. They are evil in their words and their actions. They are a disgrace to those who are truly living out their faith of doing good, decent, honest, things for others in this life. They are slso are ‘little people’ with money that is tainted by their very hateful hearts, so not matter what use they put their dollars too, in the long run, it will bring back seeds of hate and evil harvests. Let us move on with our gentle but firmness of tegetherness in decency of hearts to get our President re-elect with clean hands. Love you all back also.HZ
