I will not pay the man behind the curtains any attention. There is too much good info, pics, videos to share on this labor day. They are not relevant if we don’t pay them attention. They are just trying to push their narrative, so our job is to not bite. And anyway our narrative is more positive, forward thinking and uniting!

Love Solis is using the ‘fired up’ quote!

Umm somehow my post above looks like a rebuttal to you Donna. Not at all. I actually agree 100% with your comment.

Just wanted to set the record straight since I know comments can be easily misconstrued on the webz

Don’t you just love how apropos the words are? Listen carefully to them all; I think they are even more appropriate right now than ‘We shall overcome” . I’m holding my breath until someone puts some current ‘political’ pictures to this song. Ain’t no stopping America now, in spite of the Perrys, Romneys, Bachmanns, Palins or whoevers, not if the majority of voters engage! I’ve been doing a jig to this every time I hear it since rediscovering it at POU recently.

I keep surfing the web and the T.V. for more coverage on the President trip to Paterson to survey the hurricane damage. There is unbelievable blackout. Because he was effective as Comforter and Chief to brown, black, and white Americans, nothing is being said. None of the flood victims bashed nor vented any frustration with the President; so there is no video being played on a loop. Gov. Christie and the Pres. Obama displayed collegiality and respect for each other; so there is no video or commentary being played on a loop. There was no negative narrative, so there is no story for MSM. — I just heard MSNBC pull up the old Rep. Waters tape. This is to say, this is another instance of MSM blocking out positive narratives on the Obama Presidency.

The GOP Assault On Voting Rights
    ===========================

It really is that simple. Conservatives believe that voting, and participation in government itself, should be restricted to the elite, the wealthy, and the powerful. It’s no longer John Birch fringe to believe that the underclass, those who don’t belong in the lofty presence of the job creators, have no place in politics. Conservatives are increasingly blaming them for all of society’s ills, and are just wondering how hard they have to push in order for the dwindling middle-class to declare war on the poor, and leave the lords at the top to reap the spoils.

In short, Conservatives don’t think everyone in America should have the right to vote, period. They discovered their mistake in 2006 and 2008, and it was allowing the unwashed masses the right to vote. And should they get back into 2012, they will eliminate that right.

Keep that in mind this Labor Day, and into November 2012.

As StR stated, Perry is in a bind because having dissed the Federal government, he now has to eat some humble pie and ask for Federal monies, or risk further destruction to the affected regions. This is NO time to play politics, but The GOP didn’t get the memo.

I absolutely love the President in setting likes this! He is a FIGHTER! I like how he reminded the crowd about the Harry Truman speech where Truman said that labor and the dems stayed at home and didn’t come out in huge numbers to vote and we ended up with a dysfunctional government. Fast forward to 2010 and the same thing happened again with dems listening to the emoprogs and the pundits. But he still told them that he is there 100% for them. He will make sure the GOP put country first. He was brilliant! The crowd was energized, pumped and kept yelling 4 MORE YEARS! 4 MORE YEARS!

UT, that was my favorite part when he was very subtle, yet strong, talking about some labor voting for Congress members that were not supportive of labor. It was only a few sentences but it stuck with me. Hopefully, a clip is made of that historical comparison.

Okay, all you frantic people, did you not all hear the force in his voice? DO NOT BET AGAINST MY PRESIDENT. EVER !! Fantastic speech, got me all excited 😀

  110. September 5, 2011 at 2:03 pm

CSPAN goes from showing a fiery, enthused fighter in Obama to Mitt’s contrived corniness. The contrast is staggering!

They think they are elevating the GOP candidates at the President’s expense when they do this, but they dont’ realize that they are highlighting the stark contrast between our people’s President and these dimwitted bought & paid for corporate puppets.

I love the 4 fingers: 4 more years. Great speech: when he can talk about values and accomplishments and what we stand for no corporate apologist on the GOP side can come close. He is the American Dream and speaks for all of us. Let’s all roll up our sleeves and get him 4 more years with solid democratic majorities so we can get the country back to work and once again enshrine the principles of equality and justice in the heart of our democracy.

  121. September 5, 2011 at 2:27 pm

Just wait until the campaign really gets going. I think folks forget about President Obama on the stump as a candidate is different than giving a speech as President. Come September through November 2012 he’ll even start naming names of the obstructionist Republicans and their sabotage of the economy. The GOP Presidential Candidate will be forced to answer for the four years of obstruction, of saying “No”, about the GOP doing nothing with their two years with the House majority.

PBO is definitely FIRED UP!!!!! The crowd was FIRED UP!!!!! I am FIRED UP and READY TO GO!!! Made me happy to see him there rested and in his element. He simply blows away anyone else in the field even before he begins his campaign. All of the MSM, firebagger and teabagger rhetoric just vaporizes in his presence and they cannot shield his brilliance from the American people.
    OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!

Folks always make a mistake of underestimating Barack Hussein Obama, going back to the primaries.

Back then, many folks thought that Obama was wrong to be “soft” towards Hillary Clinton, but he prevailed in the end. Then there was the general election, when many folks believed that Obama was too soft towards John McCain and Sarah Palin, that Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, and ACORN would do him in, they were WRONG and Obama won.

Now three years later, the teapugs, professional left, and MSM STILL DON’T GET IT!!! This man always outsmarts and outwits everyone, that’s why he is so hated, he’s an unpredictable man. The Teapugs, professional left and MSM would love to have another Bush/Cheney in office, because at least you knew where they stood, with their false sense of toughness and their arrogance.

But they won’t get their chance to get a Republican elected, because despite all their crowing, President Obama has not lost his base, we see it here on TOD and when PBO holds townhalls.

He never went away! What these “he’s back” folks want, is PBO in campaign mode, something he can’t do in the day to day job as President. They should be happy he will be back in campaign mode very soon, This was the kick off.

@allanbrauer: Apparently President Obama’s base is so angry & disappointed that they r sentencing him 2 another 4 years of the job. #TFY
