Leading into interviewing Darth Vader, Morning Joe has been bashing President Obama for the last 45 minutes calling him weak and irrelevant. Everyone is agreeing with him except Mika offering a weak rebuttal. Please email or Tweet. The continued bashing on the “liberal” network is taking its toll.

Morning Schmoe never fails to prove how much of a Republican shill he is. He, like most of MSNBC, want President Perry in the White House because they long for the nostalgia that was the Bush years, and Perry is about as close to Bush as they can get.

And I find it telling that people consider MSNBC “liberal” and “pro Obama” when most of their commentators dedicate their time to attacking and bashing President Obama over the pettiest of bullshit, the latest being the DATE on which he addresses Congress. It was only Rev. Al who pointed out that it was only after Jabba the Rush said Rusty could rebuke the President, that Rusty whined. And President Obama had NO CHOICE but to give in because he has to be invited by the Speaker to address Congress, what point would it serve for President Obama to whine like a child over the date like Rusty does?

I’ve had it with “President Obama caved/capitulated/gave in” meme. The real folks who caved/capitulated/gave in are the feckless emoprogs who threw in the towel six months into the man’s Presidency over the stimulus battle, having set their expectations way too high.

I signed mine. I stand with the President! I believe this will also backfire on the Repubs. When they disrespect the office of the President like this. There will be consequences.

    Signed mine too.

Sent Bill Press scathing email few minutes ago. He’s doing his typical PO bashing!!!! told him he should take a lesson from Ed Schultz–at least last night….how Ed and his guests kept saying PO is truly THE ONLY ADULT IN THE ROOM.

I usually listen to Bill Press every morning out of habit. My instinct always tells me to not to listen to him when something like this happens. I am sure his question of the day had something to do with PBO caving or being weak. I did not want to hear it this morning. Your name says anonymous. Is this post from you Jacqueline O’Boomer? 🙂

I don’t listen to Bill Press, I turn it on when Stephanie Miller comes on, turn off Thom Hartmann (PL), and back on to listen to my Randi Rhoads. I just love her.

We the People: Announcing White House Petitions & How They Work
Something exciting is coming to WhiteHouse.gov. It’s called We the People and it will significantly change how the public — you! — engage with the White House online.

Our Constitution guarantees your right to petition our government. Now, with We the People, we’re offering a new way to submit an online petition on a range of issues — and get an official response.

We’re announcing We the People before it’s live to give folks time to think about what petitions they want create, and how they are going to build the support to get a response.

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2011/09/01/we-people-announcing-white-house-petitions-how-they-work

There’s a video of how it will work. We will now have a more direct voice!! BRILLIANT!!

    Check it out!!!!

Oh don’t worry Bill, liberals on twitter are fighting back HARD against Joe Scarborough. He’s trying to spin some BS meme that the Obama White House has had a historically bad (Joe over exaggerates) couple of months full of infighting and backbiting. Jon Meacham, Mike Barnicle, and Peter Alexander are all nodding their heads in agreement and allowing Joe to lie. What backbiting has the White House been experiencing? None. What pisses me off about Mika’s defense of President Obama is that it’s WEAK. She always backs down when Joe begins yelling at her and being verbally abusive as though she doesn’t have a right to be on the show. Joe is disgusting. He began the morning by joking about the invasion of Poland; because, you know, it was funny that people died and even when Mika called him out he brushed her off as though it was nothing. Then he began trying to make Boehner look like the victim of evil evil President Obama. If democrats had done this to GWB, Joe would have called them every name in the universe.

Jay Carney was brilliant. He basically told the Morning joe morons that President Obama sent a letter to Boehner’s office at 10:30am requesting to make an Address to a Joint Session of Congress and there was no objection from the speaker. So, Dan Pfeiffer tweeted what day and time PBO’s speech would be. Still no objection from Boehner. Jay Carney gave a press conferennce and confirmed the date and time of the President’s jobs speech and still no objection from the speaker. Then around 4pm, Boehner releases a letter to the media rejecting President Obama’s request. In my opinion, Boehner listened to Limbaugh’s insane, vitriolic, disgusting rant. Jay Carney told them that President Obama wasn’t concerned about the 7th or the 8th. What he wanted was to speak to the congress and the nation as soon as possible about JOBS. Jay pointed out that this is the only President who has been facing unprecedented intransigence from the other side. Everything he proposes, the other side blocks. Jay pointed out to them that the media should be pointing this out and stop trying to make it sound as though President Obama hasn’t been doing anything. President Obama went on an economic tour and what he heard from Americans was that they would like Congress to come together and work with him to provide jobs. So, he hopes that Congressmembers have been listening to their constituents and are ready to come back and work with the President; because President Obama would be presenting a variety of measures that will create more jobs and grow the economy and if the GOP isn’t ready to work with him; he’ll take his case directly to the American people. Jay was awesome. He didn’t let Joe Scarborough try to spin some BS narrative and I remember Jay’s last appearance on Morning Joe; where he EVISCERATED Scarborough and made Scarborough drop the F bomb.

Now Dick Cheney is on and Joe Is sucking up to him big time; telling him that he can’t believe that General Colin Powell attacked him and his book on Face The Nation and said it was filled with untruths. Powell is right. Cheney questioned Powell’s loyalty, character and ethics. Powell went to bat for the GWB administration when he gave the UN flawed information about going to war in Iraq. Cheney was the one who tried to connect Powell with the Valerie Plame CIA blow up. It was Alma Powell who assisted in taking care of Cheney after his heart attack, made Thanksgiving dinner for his family and helped with his rehab and what does Cheney do? Stab her husband in the back. At least Mike and Mike are trying to ask him some hard questions.

Well it shows how much Morning Schmoe knows that he is kiss assing to the real life Lord Voldemort himself. Schmoe says President Obama is weak but kiss-asses to the (Vice) President responsible for getting 4000+ American soldiers killed and trillions of dollars spent over a war based on a LIE.

And the professional left stand idly by as Lord Voldemort Cheney peddles his nonsense and continues to whine that President Obama needs to prosecute him and the entire Bush cronies, as if that is more important than job creation and the economy. I’m glad to see that Jay Carney and Rev. Al continue to defend the President and have his back.

      • 15 Obama Grandmama
        September 1, 2011 at 11:11 am

This prosecution thing is a continual scream from the PL as if it doesn’t matter how likely it would be to happen or not. Just doing it is the important thing. What I have heard is that it is highly unlikely that it would turn out to be a guilty verdict due to the legal advice on Gitmo the administration received even though they were influenced to give that advice. If we wasted time and resources at a time when the country was in dire need of jobs and bringing back from the brink so many would be complaining about partisan attacks and ready to throw the entire admin out. It would be the biggest divider in history.

    • September 1, 2011 at 7:59 am

Thanks for the daily report UTliberal. I am so happy that Carney was on the Jooke show to tell the truth and push back. I really, really love Carney. He is a real reporter and he calls them out with their BS. I can’t wait to hear Rev. AL do the same today.

      • September 1, 2011 at 8:05 am

There’s something about Jay that sets him apart. He’s educated and principled. He’s a gentleman but he doesn’t suffer fools. He’s not pugnacious but he will fight if you are out of line. He’s very respectful and understands what he’s doing. I think he genuinely and truly reveres his office.

        • 18 utaustinliberal
          September 1, 2011 at 8:42 am

Oh Meta, he absolutely reveres his office. The way he talked about working for VP Biden and then working as Press Secretary for President Obama filled me with joy. He said that even though he’s been in the White House for about two years, he still pinches himself and wonders how he got so lucky to be working with this particular President. He said it’s a joy everyday despite the frustrations of the media to learn from President Obama and other mentors he has been lucky enough to be introduced to. He said as a former journalist, he somewhat understands where the wh presscorps comes from and somewhat understands their questions; but one thing he will never do is let them get away with lies about President Obama and this administration. He will go toe to toe with them and make sure they report the truth. He said that this White House especially and it’s occupants in the East and West Wing feel like a family because they’re all fighting the same battle and they all root for each other and encourage each other because they’re sometimes insulated from the media over hype. He also talked about music and how he likes Eminem and the Rolling Stones and other bands. He talked about his 10 year old son and how his son plays in a rock band and performed at some famous club and how proud he is of his son. Jay Carney is the BEST!

          • September 1, 2011 at 10:32 am

Oh, THANKS for that report, ut!!!! That’s absolutely terrific to hear!! Love the man and am so glad he’s found the perfect spot. You know, I wondered the first couple of days. He was so nervous. But who wouldn’t be? It’s a very high pressure job. But he’s amazing. BRAVO!!

          • September 1, 2011 at 10:58 am

‘He said that this White House especially and its occupants in the East and West Wing feel like a family because they’re all fighting the same battle and they all root for each other and encourage each other because they’re sometimes insulated from the media over hype’

THIS is a real example of true leadership IMO. How many other political leaders, or journalists, pundits, or whatever are able to knit their team together in this positive and productive way? Think for a moment of the joy of being able to work in an environment where you ‘feel like a family’ ‘fighting the same battle’. That has got to help minimize the stress of the job! Wait a minute! The previous two sentences so apply to us here in TODville! 😉 😆

Cheney is a heartless (literally) piece of work. If Mrs. Powell did that for his family only to back stab her husband, all I can say, watch out Mr. Cheney because karma is a bitch and you have a lot to amend for…lies after lie and so much destruction to average americans, and the death of many innocent service men and women.

      • 23 Obama Grandmama
        September 1, 2011 at 11:18 am

One thing I thought was telling about the clips I saw of Matt Lauer interviewing Cheney was when he point blank asked him how he would feel if an American had been detained and accused of something and waterboarded in another country? Cheney didn’t seem to have an answer to that other than they couldn’t do it because the person was an American. Like we can do what we want but they can’t do what we do to Americans.

  8. September 1, 2011 at 7:50 am

Good morning. I saw Morning Joke and immediately became nauseated. I’m so pissed I feel I just can’t sit any longer without taking action. I want Obama supporters to select a date and boycott every cable station and especially MSNBC with the exception of Rev Al’s show. I believe we talked about this and that Donna had some great suggestions.

I want to petition to get Joe off the air. I will not rest until he and his hatred is silenced. The lies this man is allowed to tell about our President simply cannot go unanswered in mass any longer. He had the nerve to say that Pres Obama had an easy primary campaign and easy general election. He had the nerve to insinuate that Pres O had an easy life and that’s why he doesn’t know how to fight. I want this bastard off the airwaves. Period. Send his ass back to Florida and right wing radio.

Can someone tell me how I go about drafting a petition?

I also want a widely publicized boycott of Starbucks and perhaps Comcast since it now owns MSNBC.

    We must act now.

I’m with you all the way ProudofObama…..our household has UNPLUGGED from cable, but I continue to write/call registering complaint to the MSNBC network. I know regulation is a poisonous word, but when it comes to news and political programming the content and context of what is being delivered is central to an informed citizenry. Anything goes should not be an acceptable program model. I’ve written my Senators regarding my concerns with the media, and I’ll continue to write them.

I think we should organize and do this, at the very least we can turn heads to new sources of information and persudae individuals to be more active listeners.

Yes. Even though I can’t stand Mika, we should put something in there about MSNBC allowing Joke to continually yell at and verbally abuse his co-host. It just personally sticks in my craw to see a man do this and it’s a bad message being sent.

The media narrative should be that John Boehner “caved in” to Rush Limbaugh, someone who is not even part of government, and should have no say whatsoever in when joint sessions are held. President Obama was not the one who “caved in” to anyone since the executive branch and legislative branch are co-equal branches of government and the joint sessions are determined by the schedule of congress.

The Republicans in congress constantly “cave in” to a racist, vile, and obnoxious entity called Rush Limbaugh who does not have the best interests of the country at heart, yet the MSM and PL are just fine and dandy with that.

They are, because the professional left and MSM believe that President Obama is an almighty dictator who should do as he wishes, but they forget how Bush and Cheney acted like dictators and did as they pleased.

With the exception of Rev. Al, we’ll continue to see this “President Obama caved/capitulated/gave in” meme all over the media, because again with the exception of Rev. Al, the media wants President Obama to fail. Even with Hurricane Irene, they can’t give him credit because they are pushing the bullshit that President Obama and the federal government “overprepared” for Hurricane Irene, but forget how little President Bush did to prepare for Hurricane Katrina. It’s shameful!

I think it is a good thing that the president speaks AFTER the clown debate. He can respond if he wants to, and set the record straight. If he had spoken first, they would have spent the evening disagreeing with him….now they can take their shots and he can respond to what he wants to. The NFL wil be much more co-operative with scheduling than Boehner.
I listened to the Ed show segment on this, and Mike Papantonio said what needs to be trumpeted from the housetops, something my husband and I have been saying for three years: When Limbaugh, McConnell, etc. say they want the President to fail, they are saying they want AMERICA to fail. That is what they really mean, and to me, that is treasonous.
I saw a chart last night on LOD, I think, that saw rankings of the U.S. in all kinds of infrastructure from 2000 to now. In 2000 we were 5th in the world (not a good ranking for the U.S.) but now we are 23rd! That is what happened with Bush, and now with the Say no Congress.
Anyone who has traveled to Europe in the last ten years knows how far ahead of us they are. That is a disgrace, and these Republicans do not care! Papantonio also said that if the president had said he was going to speak about giving subsidies to the oil companies, they would have jumped at the chance to have him speak next Wednesday.

  17. September 1, 2011 at 10:23 am

Thanks for posting this Chips, signed it last night also.. I absolutely stand with President Obama. I knew today’s “news” would be all about “Obama CAVES to Boehner”… what else is new? Its the best the ‘media’ can do- it’s all about who has the biggest D–k and I think we all know POTUS doesn’t play that- he has no need to go to the edge over silly stuff and play bad ass. He is looking out for the people of this Nation, and when folks finally figure out that getting their back doesn’t require him to play ignorant games with the very small sad Speaker of the House- but to help them get jobs and to help boost our economy- no matter what the cost may be to him visually/media wise by the likes of Joe Scarborough or some other talking head- THEN they’ll have figured out what matters. POTUS is a DOER.. not a player. He keeps doing, working and others keep standing around pointing fingers, judging, chattering.

Our guy won this already- he didn’t get into a battle over some time slot.. his battle is about getting this country working and on it’s collective feet- his D–k is wayyy bigger.

One other thing I’ve been thinking about.. what he goes through as the First Black President- and why it’s going to be easier for you- the next Black President. He has been pilloried (sp) in just about every way possible across this country by those who get paid to trash others-create division and make folks believe the sky ain’t blue.. and as we all know here, he keeps walking the talk, working the job, meeting the challenges, facing the people, thinking, planning and doing- never missing a beat. And we know most of this BS being pushed about him IS because he’s black.. and never does he call it out for what it is- and never will he. He is being President in all its forms, in manner, in character, in accomplishments, in his pledge to our country, to our Constitution- he is paving a path for ALL that come after him, and frankly I think some folks ought to start thanking their lucky stars that this man is the person that came first- because he is going to be the one that prevents ‘them- the bigots/haters’ from closing the door for another 200 years on Presidents of color. I say this because I was furious yesterday- absolutely disgusted with John Boehner, Speaker of the House for his childish antics directed at the President of the United States, Our President- I took this shit personally yesterday, as I’m betting many others did too- and yet all the time I knew, that Barack Obama wouldn’t argue over a date/ time slot.. Barack Obama wouldn’t get silly and loud over which night to give his speech.. President Barack Obama is to big and smart and solid of a human being to be getting noisy and messy over playground one upmanship.. thats for the small people: the Limbaughs, the Boehners, The Media players. President Barack Obama is focused on We the People- and the here and now + the future. He thinks smart, not small.

Anyway- one thing, I’m not mad anymore- but I’m dead serious on helping folks in all ways possible to see to it that John Boehner is never reelected to anything again in his lifetime. And after President Barack Obama is REELECTED- then I’m setting my sights on Rush Limbaugh’s career ending.. it’s overdue.

    • September 1, 2011 at 10:41 am

Awesome, sherijr. Right there with you, especially how angry I was last night. I was FURIOUS…..was shaking for awhile. I did a status update on FB. Everyone who commented–except one–was as upset and hurt as I was. In one of my comments in the thread, I came out and said PO and the office is being disrespected and diminished for one reason–because there is a black man in the WHITE House. One person’s response was “That’s right….it’s all because he is black……GIVE ME A BREAK.” I ignored it, as did others, but we all got our message across in other comments….that it comes down to respect, both for the man and the office. Another friend commenting also has a bi-racial granddaughter and she and I went back and forth about how PO is NO different than our granddaughters and how it would hurt if they were treated like he is. I even told the story that our daughter and son-in-law can’t take Aliya to Charlie’s grandparents because of their racism….how they make comments to Charlie’s mom so imagine what they would do if she were in front of them. The person who made that comment professes to be such a “good Christian”. Obviously, she can talk the talk but not walk the walk.

      • September 1, 2011 at 12:27 pm

I think its awesome that you discussed it outloud… WE can do that, POTUS can’t.. and we should be doing it, not merely saying that this is more and more about racism- but that it is unacceptable to all of us, that it diminishes all of us and that we see clearly whats going on within the media, the republicans and some nasty dems/PL. My sons are also bi-racial, my grandchildren multi-racial, and though my grandchildren will have it better than my sons did- it is still not good enough- the double standard is unacceptable- and I think it behooves ALL of us to call it out- but don’t stop marching on in the process, it cannot leave us paralyzed.. it doesn’t stop President Obama or the multitudes of people of color in this nation who wake up to both subtle and overt racism every day in one form or another.

In seeing what John Boehner wrote back to the President I thought how great it is to have a President that can handle so many things at one time whereas the Speaker can go on vacation for a month then when he comes back he can only worry about doing so few things in the first day that adding anything into his schedule is beyond possible.
