there are no words…..

Think Progress: The Pima County GOP – which is in the same district where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was shot early this year – is holding a very insensitive fundraiser this week. The party is holding a raffle fundraiser, and the prize is a Glock handgun, the same category of weapon that was used to shoot Giffords.

The GOP should be run out of Dodge. Or, in this case, Pima County and all of Arizona.

    Pathetic, mean-spirited, soulness people.

In Scott Peck’s “People of the Lie” he suggests that what underlies evil is extreme self-centeredness. I remember a story he told about two parents (who he thought exemplified this self-centeredness) that had given their younger son a birthday or Christmas gift and it was the gun that his older brother had killed himself with. That’s what we are seeing in this action by the GOP, this kind of extreme self-centeredness.

Even though I’m not a big fan right now of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and who they occasionally are using for their fundraising, they are still Democrats, so good for them …

Just got their email reporting that they ” … beat our $500,000 Federal Election Commission deadline goal last night, raising an incredible $614,259!”

Obviously, they are looking good for 2012.

As a matter of fact, YES! Why if the Republicans in this state could figure out a way to give every newborn a brand spanking new “piece”, they would…God given right, doncha know! If you can breathe, you can have a gun here. NO training necessary,no waiting, no background check (as far as I know)…concealed weapons? No problem either. How about that! Wild West on steroids….did I mention they are also allowed in the govt office buildings? This place is nuts.

This is, indeed, some real sick shit. The next thing you know they’ll be advertising gun fights at the OK corral or some such nonsense. This sounds like “code” for armed revolution.

o/t …but I just read a comment elsewhere that seems to be spot on.

PBO will get more viewers on Thursday night because of the Football game coming on immediately after than he would on Wednesday.

Isn’t this the most despicable event, just heartless and cruel and stupid? But Great News!—–the Tea Party head honcho who was just on Martin Beshir just said that there are no racists in the tea party and that they all “live by the words of Martin Luther King”! I was waiting for the lightning strike or at least some pretty serious choking on those words. Craziness abounds. Nothing shocks me any more, including the headline in my paper this a.m. which said that idiotic tea party and deadbeat dad, Rep. Joe Walsh, called President Obama “idiotic”.

Ack. What is wrong with these guys? Seriously. What a Thoughtless Thing To Do. If you guys feel like tweeting these a$$clowns here’s what I tweeted:

@PIMAGOP STUNNING lack of sensitivity. What are you guys thinking? Raffles are great but not this. blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitic… #GOPFAIL

I was reading in that article that the last chairman of the PIMA GOP condemned it. He’s not the head anymore because apparently he wasn’t right wing enough….sigh…..

There really are no words!!! This can be a scary world we live in. What could be worth using a gun on another human being barring self defense and I wonder about that. Be safe Mr.President. You are loved, respected, and held in high esteem. I’m really sorry your vacation was disrupted. I hope you and your family enjoyed every minute.
