Governor Christy will be happy to receive the extra federal monies for his state. Let Cantor and the GOP try to defund FEMA, and see who loses.

Just watched Gov. Christie praise Obama over and over and over again during an appearance in N.J. with Janet Napolitano. It made me think he was playing for an Obama cabinet position.
All the damage is so heartbreaking. So many peoples’ homes and businesses and everything they own was washed away, plus lives lost. I felt so bad last night when they interviewed a guy standing outside his half collapsed home in Vt., about 5ft. of mud in the other half, everything destroyed, his town wrecked. He tried to hold it back, but the tears just started flowing when he said, “My dad built this house.” We got upset for about a minute last night when our disposal broke away and water flooded our kitchen floor. And then I said ‘wait a minute, this is nothing.’

I think Christie is more angling for 2016 – same reason Jeb Bush doesn’t attack the President and even has made appearances with him. They want to be able to make the claim that they are above the partisanship that has enveloped Washington GOP and thus can reach across the aisle and work with both parties. The true presidential contenders know that the teabaggers are on their way out of influence, and it will be a credit to them come the 2016 general to say “I worked with President Obama on x, y, z”.

Christie will need to swing over a lot of Dems if he hopes to carry NJ come 2016. Anybody currently in the GOP House or Senate have forfeited any chance at ever running for the Presidency with their vitriol and obstruction.

Christie will need to lose some weight if he intends to run. And I mean this sincerely. That is not a healthy amount of weight to carrying for a stressful job like the US Presidency. The good news is that there is a lot of time between now and 2016 so profound lifestyle changes can be made.

StR, are you actually saying that come 2016 we might see a bit of sanity return to the other major party?? One can only hope.

His visit will provide a measure of comfort for the people of New Jersey. The devastation there and in Vermont is just heartbreaking.
