Thank you Chips!!! I have been quiet since all this has happened. I have been busy and but have been doing alot of thinking. I trust this President. Yes there are times when I wish he would fight, there are times when I wish he did things differently, but I also know that I don’t know everything that is going on in the background. I know that there is much I don’t understand. I will leave this to the President and I will keep supporting him, praying for him and fighting for him.

    • August 31, 2011 at 11:28 pm

That sums up my thoughts exactly Marilyn, we have no clue what’s going on behind the scenes, so whatever frustrations I have at times – confession: I just want him to send the entire GOP to Guantanamo – I trust him. Night Marilyn, thank you so much for all you bring here, love ya.

I agree with you Chipsticks, plus I always say we can do something about Speaker Boehner and the T-Republicans disrespecting President Obama. We can get ready to fight for this President and we can get rid of Boehner and as many of those T-Republicans that we can get rid of November 2012. We can put a true speaker back in control, Nancy Pelosi. This economy is in a mess, people are suffering and if this President really care about those people he don’t have time to play games like the T-Republicans want too. Here’s one thing we should remember, don’t get mad, get even. November 2012 will be the time for us to get even.

My goodness, your comment is so perfect….in their nursery school game of “Who Caved First?”

I have to say that I was very angry earlier but than again, I was thinking that I’m giving them power, they are insignificant.

And your comment says it all, childish behavior, they have no maturity.

Next time I’ll try to laugh instead of being angry.

Turning everything they say and do in ridicule, making fun of it instead of getting angry. Because that’s what they deserve, being laugh at.

Anger from them is catnip, they love when people react this way, they feel very powerful,

I’ll focus on President Obama and will change my reactions to these pathetic buffoons, I’ll try!

Awww…… Chips there you go melting my heart again. Marry Me! Marry Me! Marry Me! I will provide you with endless riches. Oh wait. Earth to utaustinliberal; I’m just a poor college student. Oh darn. Well that was just the shortest non-engagement in history.

ps: I forgot to tell the TOD family. Mike Allen from Politico is following me on twitter! I know. I was shocked. Today I bombarded Politico about their whining when President Obama said he was going to give his speech on September 7. Same day as the GOP debate. I just kept calling them out and wouldn’t stand their nonsense and then bam! Mike Allen, the head honcho of Politico began following me. Also a couple of GOP strategists have begun following me. I always link articles from TOD and I remember Poltico had an article that mentioned TOD. Chipsticks, slowly but surely you and the TOD family are beginning to break through the quagmire. A lot of these “journalists” and the GOP have begun to take notice. So keep up the goodwork people. In my case, Mike Allen and all the other GOP strategists following me better hang on for the ride because I do not plan to ever stop calling them out and being fierce in my defense of President Obama. 🙂

  11. August 31, 2011 at 11:43 pm

I care less about agreeing to the change of date—-the president is the only adult in the room after all—–but I think Thursday night is a really bad alternative. It’s that many who need to hear from him will be otherwise engaged that night—-with football—–all the hype of that and the escapism it provides to many—-kindof like being at Disney World and someone pulls you aside and says they want to talk to you about something serious—you want to respond with “not now”—-and every news outlet is noting the conflict that night and its less than ideal timing. Sigh.

    • 35 theo67
      September 1, 2011 at 1:05 am

But, I have to ask: are Americans really worried about jobs, economy, their futures? Are people really depressed and disheartened like the media’s been drumming into our heads? Because, if the priorities are a nonsense “debate” with a cast of shameless idiots, and a football game – versus watching the President lay out a plan for action – then I just have to question what’s really going on. I don’t think there’s a country in the world that wouldn’t trade their leader for President Obama, and he just seems to be wasted here.

theo darling, let me repost from the previous thread, because I think we all need to get all NAMASTE right now:

Princess Potty Mouth the Mystical is here to talk you all from the edge of the ANGRY cliff…..

          ~ deep breath everyone ~

          Correct. President Obama.

          – Do not think for ONE FUCKING MINUTE Obama and his staff didn’t know EXACTLY WHEN the ClownCarCrazies™ were having their “debate.”

          – Do not think for ONE FUCKING MINUTE Obama and his staff didn’t know EXACTLY WHAT their reaction would be.

Which means…… Obama set Boehner up, and Boehner took the bait like the stupid, one-track idiot he is. Boehner played right into the President’s hands…..

Boehner looks like the disrepsecting douchebag that he is, and Obama looks like the HONORABLE PRESIDENT he is.

This proves once again, that the GOP cares more about themselves, and their ridiculous “debate”, six months before the first primary, which will be a showdown of who can be the most insane, FAR MORE THAN THEY CARE ABOUT GETTING AMERICANS BACK TO WORK.

They not only disrespect Obama, but they disrespect THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.

For once – Ed Schultz is NAILING IT.

I have oftentimes thought of how much good PBO could do in a country that wanted him to help them instead of here where people only set out roadblocks, obstruction, ridicule, and criticism. My daughter has moved to Germany. I keep hoping it is not permanently but after the behavior of so many people in the USA I am thinking maybe she has the right idea. All of you supporters on this blog keep me having hope and I am glad I have this place to come to. Thanks Chips.

      September 1, 2011 at 1:13 am

As disgusting as it is to see the disrespect shown to the President, I really don’t see the change of the date as being important. He may get more viewers prior to the game. I also don’t think it is a big deal to the Prez which day he speaks, the important thing is that he gets his message out JOBS JOBS JOBS! Making the speech in a joint session of Congress is a BFD that is why he requested it, lots of media attention.

      • 42 Tally
        September 1, 2011 at 1:37 am

        Debz – exactly.

The GAME is on NBC. Every single network will carry this JOINT SESSION – including NBC.

There will be no pre-game. I am still going to tweet my fingers off and so should everyone else:

Then PBO will end his speech by saying something like, “And everyone enjoy the game.” Then there will be no one watching the GOP response, because it will be time for kickoff.

        boo fucking hoo.

    August 31, 2011 at 11:44 pm

You all know, this is important to a very small group of people. MSNBC made it a big deal because it was “their” Republican debate…Limbaugh blew it up and Boehner took his marching orders.
Remember how miniscule the audience was for the last Republican debate? They’re wasting time and money on it.
The President WILL speak, we will listen, and the Republicans will look like children. However, here in Oklahoma City, we are concerned about two HUGE fires burning up parts of our city…churches, homes, farms, grass…..in 103 degree temperatures in a drought. The people on the east coast ae concerned about cleaning up after Irene. A lot of people are concerned about finding shelter and food. This is big only in the eyes of the self-centered pundits. How many people actually watch cable…..the numbers are small. Most people are concerned with every day living. They will be much more concerned with the results from Congress for jobs than what night the President speaks. We do know who runs the Republican party, and it isn’t John Boehner.

    • September 1, 2011 at 12:26 am

You’re absolutely right. NO ONE is watching these debates because they’re ridiculous. Maybe more will tune in now but that can only help us in the mainstream. Chuck Todd and NBC/Politico have a lot invested in this so of course they went nuts. Pathetic.

And to think Climate Change is just fiction according to the GOP. Yes! FEMA’s job will be impossible now and in the future if we do not do anything about getting our pollutants under control. It may already be too late but the GOP destruction of EPA will only further add to the climate disasters.

Remember this: Without jobs, folks will not be able to afford the cable tv to watch NFL football. When your rent is late, your car is disrepair, your medical bills are piling up and your children are poorly nourished, NFL football is the last thing on your mind.

Can’t believe I did this, but just sent a “thank you” email to Ed Schultz. Was finally able to catch his show tonight, where he supported the President’s actions after the total disrespect he (and the Office of the Presidency) received from John Boehner. Told Ed – who knows – maybe people will start watching his show, again.

    • September 1, 2011 at 3:07 am

One of the things I have heard of late that makes a lot of sense of why the GOP can act as they do without fear of getting voted out of office is the redistricting that has gone on in the recent past that keeps their districts very RED. The candidates no longer worry about representing ALL of their constituents by being nonpartisan as their majority are VERY conservative these days. The mix of constituents kept the legislators more open to compromise whereas now they have no need to compromise.

        • September 1, 2011 at 7:03 am

I’ve heard about that redistricting also.

        • 61 57andFemale
          September 1, 2011 at 7:55 am

This is what drives me crazy about the lazy Democratic voter: 2010 was VERY important and Dem’s ceded the field to Republicans. A census year sets the tone for the entire decade. It’s not just the dramatic halt to anything meaningful in legislation, it’s that by the numbers alone, Republicans get to draw the redistricting maps.

This is stuff Republicans “get”. They vote, knowing that it sets their agenda for the next decade. It ain’t sexy but it changes the political landscape significantly. Democrats, I can now assume, willfully refuse to see a big, long term picture. They must be entertained and “inspired”. They are always looking for super heroes — a replacement for FDR or JFK, RFK or MLK. They steadfastly refuse to understand that they need a political infrastructure and that it takes decades to achieve. One way to never achieve it — yell and withhold your vote.

My first post here. Yay. Just for survey purposes I went around to the mainstream news blogs – CNN, ABC and MSNBC and they are reporting this as if it is Boner who screwed up (which is obviously the case). The only ones complaining about Mr. Obama and saying he caved are the liberal blogs. What a shocker!

Hey CaliCat welcome to the family. Thanks for the mini survey you conducted. The PL and the emoprogs can be the Democratic Party’s and President Obama’s worst nightmare. You’d think they’d realize that Speaker Boehner is the childish player in this narrative and President Obama once again played a brilliant game of chess.

    • September 1, 2011 at 7:12 am

That’s the problem right there, insread of getting prepare to fight these T-Republicans, they rather attack the Presdent. We should be focus, coming together, against the common enemy, but all these liberals jackasses rather do is attack President Obama.

      Thank YOU….edp4bho..From an earlier post/thread
      A MUST READ!!!!!
What the Boehner-Obama speechgate flap is really about
Today’s Republicans, who have been overrun by a hardcore tea party faction in addition to the resurgent religious right, have made the calculation that there is literally no bottom — and no level of disrespect so great that they will pay a price with white independents. They seem to have decided that there is nothing they can do to Barack Obama that will stop them winning in 2012, because they believe, based on 2010, that there are far more people, including independents, who hate Barack Obama for organic reasons that go beyond policy, and go to his person than the polling indicates. It’s pretty clear that Republicans have decided that they can so demonize Barack Obama the person, and raise enough questions about him in the minds of white independents, that the increased zeal their attacks produce among the tea party base will offset any indie backlash and put, say, a Rick Perry over the top, even over the objections of the middle.

  22. September 1, 2011 at 7:56 am

The overwhelmingly vast majority of voters never heard of the faux left and could care less about their tantrums. Every time Boehner and his pals pull some stupid stunt intended to undermine the president, a few more people have their eyes opened about who is on their side and who is working against them. The press release was beautiful–we want 100 percent focus, not childish whining. I have prayed each night since the Democratic primaries that people’s eyes would be opened to the greatness of Barack of Obama and slowly, with each stupid episode by the Tea Republicans, the scales come off. A lesser person (like myself) would have shown anger at the Boehner childishness, but it takes a deep sense of self to just flick it off and get down to what’s important and that’s what our president has shown that he has–a deep, assured sense of self.

Everyone here is so great to be with in a crisis–like having pals in a foxhole. We stand together through highs and lows and feel stronger because of it. Thanks to Chipsticks for creating this incredibly environment where we help each other to grow more powerful and more effective every day.
