they’re eating each other alive, part 976

*** For those with weak stomachs, warning: the Rove creature appears in this clip ***

Politicususa: Greta Van Sustern lost control of the narrative tonight on her Fox show, as Karl Rove got in shot after shot to Greta’s BFF Sarah Palin (Greta’s husband is the unofficial man behind SarahPAC). Rove served an ace with his numerous references to Sarah Palin’s thin skin. Thin skin does not a Presidential candidate make.

More here (and more at Mediaite)

Media Matters (July 2010): On the July 9 edition of Fox News’ On the Record, Newt Gingrich pointed out to host Greta Van Susteren that she should know what a wonderful person Sarah Palin because “you’ve probably covered her more than anybody in the country”.

There’s a likely reason for that, which neither Gingrich nor Van Susteren mentioned: Van Susteren’s husband, John Coale, served as an adviser to Palin after the 2008 presidential campaign.

…. Coale said he started Palin’s political action committee, SarahPAC, as well as a legal defense fund for her. SarahPAC, by the way, issued the Palin-centric video that Van Susteren was promoting on her show for the second night in a row during Gingrich’s appearance …. Van Susteren has repeatedly failed to disclose her husband’s ties with Palin…..

Thank you Ladyhawke

This is classic reverse psychology by Rove. He’s double dog daring Palin to run because he wants to split the teabagger vote further.

Of course this is from an anynoymus person.

    Obama 2012 launches Project Vote

“The big goal here it to expand the electorate,” said an Obama for America official who spoke on condition of anonymity. “That’s how we won in 2008, and we think that’s the path to victory again in 2012. There’s a registration component, and a turnout component for sporadic voters.”

I just hope the Justice Department is taking a hard look at all the voter suppression tricks the GOP led States are implementing. Also any “Project Vote” drive will need to educate folks in their respective states about how to get ID etc.

Not sure why this has to be anonymously sourced. It’s just about the same game plan from 2008.

I’m sorry, but every time I see a head-on shot of Rove, I can’t help but flash back to when Colbert slapped a pair of glasses on a canned ham and interviewed it in place of the real Karl.

Geeze, Greta. Wipe the pandering drool off your mouth. That was a content-free exchange about their own emotions, about which I’m not sure why anybody should care. It blows my mind that these kinds of people have ownership of the airwaves on a daily basis. Just pure empty right-wing emo crap all deeply concerned about a has-been who barely registers in the pulse of the nation anymore. Yet there they are, grasping at straws, doing what they do to try to convince everybody – anybody – that they are somehow relevant. Bah!

Interesting how many times I heard Governor Palin said while they do not use the title President Obama and then excuse it away by saying it is journalisticly proper to use Mr or just the last name after saying the title once.

HaHa! I cannot stand either of them so I think it is great that they make fools of themselves in front of the country.

I’m with the speculation that Karl is engaging in reverse psychology.
ps- Had no clue Greta was married.

I honestly don’t buy either Rove or Palin and this might all be a ruse to get our focus away from the ultimate candidate while they are planning something else.

It’s too late in the game for any ultimate candidate – Iowa caucus and NH Primary will be in early and mid January respectively. Anybody entering in September is looking at 4 months to try and make up a lot of ground both in organization and in fundraising. Most of the long time operative staffers are already connected to a current campaign – so they’d have to start stealing them.

Any new candidate would have to be of the moderate variety – meaning Iowa and S.Carolina are out of play for them. Romney is going to win Nevada, so that’s out. Basically this new candidate would have to go into New Hampshire and beat Romney there – And Romney is basically living in NH, investing a ton of money and has relationships from his 2008 run and volunteers who’ve been on the ground there since February.

There is one name at this point – Jeb Bush, because he’d be a lock to win Florida, and has name value to make instant waves in NH. He’d also have the Bush money machine behind him to get him instant fundraising.

I can’t even watch the video. They make me sick to my stomach. I hope they continue to fight among themselves. It will be interesting to see who ends up on top.

I love this blog Chipsticks. You manage to inform and entertain me at the same time. I LOVE IT! Did Greta really say she didn’t know about SarahPAC?

  11. August 25, 2011 at 12:19 pm

Somebody is married to Greta? i can’t imagine that.

For fourteen years, evidently. Another well- respected lawyer. I discovered that while trying to find out what was wrong with Greta’s mouth — first time I really noticed it since I never watch Fox News. I thought, from seeing her in film clips, that it was just a personal quirk, that slightly twisted mouth.

The consensus is that she’s afflicted with Bell’s Palsy, which is a shame, though I can’t understand why Fox, which appears to be obsessed with Barbie-Doll looks on their on-camera women, keeps her in such a exposed position. But she’s also mentioned as a “plastic surgery victim” which might suggest the Bell’s came about from the surgery.

My oldest son many years ago went to a doctor (in Florida) about some strange thing that was happening to his face or jaw. The doctor diagnosed Bell’s Palsy. I received a long, very funny email from him describing his experience, complete with the doctor pulling his own face this way and that showing him what Scott was going to look like soon. He was about to commit suicide until his good wife insisted he go to another doctor for another opinion. I forget what the second doctor came up with but it wasn’t Bell’s Palsy for which Scott was infinitely grateful.

I feel for Greta, though I can’t stand her politics or pandering. She’s not sneering, poor soul, and she evidently has a long perhaps even distinguished history in law practice. But so do many very good and open-minded people on TV today.

Gahhhh.. turd blossom in technicolor. Rove’s deviousness knows no bounds. He wants to split the teabagger vote so that Romney will be the eventual nominee; that’s why he’s goading Palin from here to highwater.

Now there’s an attractive pair. Couldn’t watch it. Life’s too short…

Thanks for EVERYTHING you post Chips. I know it’s my own problem that I have a weak stomach.
