    People better pay attention this time is right! My children live in Texas, my grandchildren go to school in Texas. My daughter-in-law is scared about what the firing of 49,000 teachers is going to do to the education system. She should be. Classes that are too big for one teacher will not provide a good education, and the blame will fall on the teachers. My grandson is in 5th grade, his class has 30 students in it this year. Can you imagine just handling 30 ten year olds, to say nothing of actually TEACHING them? Perry is cruel, illiterate, and bent on destruction. We truly need to get the word out. His C average at Texas A & M is well known, and if you can’t make a B average at A & M…..you’re a failure.
    I hope that long time exposure to the American people will show them what he is….long time exposure by Palin has drowned her.

      Good Morning Carolyn…I lived in Houston, Dallas, and Austin. Went to Middle and most of high school in Houston…moved to Dallas my Senior year….went to HS in the morning and college in the PM. Went to UT…loved Austin before the business boom.

      I was lucky enough to have my children go to Private schools in Dallas. I know the class sizes are huge there. Just please, GOTV in Texas…we can turn it blue this time.

    I wish Molly Irvin was still with us…she would be ripping this guy a new one and there wouldn’t be anyone left alive that wouldn’t know what an ass he is. Pay attention people…she’s yelling at us from her grave! “Don’t do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

      Boy, do I second that sentiment! I loved Molly. I just imagine Molly and Ann Richards in heaven, looking down and saying, “Oh Lord, didn’t those people learn anything!”

    As President Obama can attest, when you are president your every move is under scrutiny. Even the books you read on vacation. There has been a lot of “cable chatter” about the books that President Obama is reading while vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard. The focus of the cable chatter is what does President Obama’s reading list say about him.

    Well, now it looks like the reading list of Governor Rick Perry is getting some well deserved attention. His book “Fed Up” was already raising some eyebrows, but that is nothing compared to his reading list.

    The Rick Perry Book Club
    ====================

    If you can’t trust what he’s written, you might do well to consider what he reads. Perry’s reading list (cobbled together from interviews, tweets, and a little bit of guesswork), is a mix of tea party treatises, tracts on small-government, paperback thrillers, and owner’s manuals for life—some more literal than others.

    And if that isn’t scary enough, the whole Dominionist/New Apostolic Reformation movement that put on Perry’s revival should outrage actual Christians and people who believe in the separation of church and state. Listen to Terry Gross on Fresh Air:

    As a sane Texan, I cringe everytime Perry opens his mouth; but I so badly want him to get the nomination so that maybe, just maybe Texas can turn blue. $4 billion in cuts to education is killing us here. Students from all grade levels including college are suffering!
