Not to bring the place down, but did ya’ll see this quote from Pat Robertson:

“On Thursdayโ€™s broadcast, Robertson pointed to the damage to the Washington Monument in the earthquake as a possible โ€˜signโ€™ from God:

โ€œIt seems to me the Washington Monument is a symbol of Americaโ€™s power. It has been the symbol of our great nation. We look at the symbol and we say โ€˜this is one nation under God.โ€™ Now thereโ€™s a crack in it… Is that sign from the Lord? … You judge. It seems to me symbolic.โ€

Not really, serious, but geez, is every natural disaster always God being mad at wherever the disaster happens (unless it happens to non-minority people right?). I always think it’s funny, that most people I know see disaster and think, “the Devil is busy”, but white evangelicals almost always like to say that it’s God’s wrath? Why are they always blaming God for the bad stuff?

    I’m just saying?

    • August 25, 2011 at 8:09 pm

This kind of stuff is just nuts. I went to this link posted earlier by WIW and it just blows my mind:

      August 25, 2011 at 8:31 pm

Well for someone who didn’t want to bring the place down, you certainly did a darn good job of it.

But I suppose it’s okay, I’ll just have to go watch the videos again to reverse the damage…. :grin:l

    • August 25, 2011 at 8:47 pm

Yes Pat. God is mad because YOU and all your bigoted ilk are DOUCHEBAGS, and he doesn’t like you DISRESPECTING THE POTUS!

Perhaps you should REFRESH your failing memory with ROMANS: 13 – YOU DOUCHBAG.

” Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is Godโ€™s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is Godโ€™s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscienceโ€™ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are Godโ€™s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”

And that’s just the FIRST PART.

      *thank you Theology 101

I’m watching Rev. Al’s show. He just showed a clip of Mitt Romney as he was leaning down to greet a very young boy, who was probably at a townhall with his father. The boy looked … er … petrified. I was even a little scared.

What a difference between that and how young children greet and hug and warm up to President Obama!

Interesting to see that PBO was traveling in a lighter, untinted vehicle, and not the Beast, as well as with far fewer accompanying vehicles. SS must feel pretty satisfied with the security of that area. Perhaps the area where they are is cut off from outside access — maybe island or inlet, or otherwise unreachable. I love being able to witness these encounters with the President, the enthusiasm and energy comes through the medium. What a handsome young man, beautiful eyes….I may be projecting but he seemed almost consumed by his emotion towards the end of the video at the club house. I know I would be. I was practically jumping up and down with the two young ladies.

I observed exactly the same Sue – that the young man was darn near choked up with emotion towards the latter part of the video in the club house. You were not projecting at all. This young man’s emotion was real. He kept saying “I love Obama” and “I shook his hand” and “I wish I had said something and savored the moment but I was too busy filming” over and over!!

    August 25, 2011 at 9:48 pm

This Presidential sighting and handshake clearly meant a lot to this kid. I have seen many videos of folks meeting our President and being thrilled, but there was something more to this one. It was more than just a typical Obama fan getting excited. You can clearly seeing him getting choked up with emotion towards the end of the first video. He kept recalling how the President had visited his school but he didn’t get to see him. He must have been longing to actually meet the President or just see him in person. As a young man, there must be something about our President that resonates deeply with him.

Hi everyone. I appreciate all of the comments, as I am the kid in these videos. The experiences of seeing, greeting, and filming President Obama were ones that I will surely never forget and I can honestly say that I am still processing it all. My joy and excitement were undoubtedly genuine and from my perspective, the most incredible part of it all was hearing President Obama speak. His voice is unlike any other and the power behind it is as real as the man himself. Reading all of these comments has genuinely made me smile and I take a great deal of joy in knowing that some of you appreciated my videos. I apologize for my language in the shorter video, but the magnitude of the situation drove me to it and I hope it didn’t ruin the video for any of you. Thank you all again. @harrytaggs on twitter

What a joy to see him express his joy, his excitement, and most of all his respect that he met the President of the United States of America. His narrative was so special and filled with so much love that is so refreshing to hear and see. I needed that, and I am so grateful to you Harry for making my day such a joyful one to be so grateful for your sharing these emotions. You and your friends are the young people who give me so much hope. I am just crying because of this young man’s courage, excitement, and respect. Thanks so much Harry. Your parents should be so proud of you. What a wonderful young man you are. Hello Harry! Thanks so much for your video and your comments. I felt your emotions as they washed over you like an Ocean wave. And I know they will return each time you watch your video because that’s the reaction we feel too. I hope that you become involved in OFA as a volunteer and that you use the whitehouse.gov as a resource in your classes in school. Take advantage of the Free Obama/Biden 2012 bumper sticker too. I, along with all of us here at TOD wish you and your family a bright future.

It’s videos like this that gets me through all the garbage we watch what is supposed to pass as journalism in this country.

These kids are real. They know whats up and because of them I know future will bring brighter days. Loved the video. Cracked me up.

Hey Harry . . . Because of this video I made eye contact with the President through his sunglasses too. ๐Ÿ˜€

Regarding your assessment that PO could be 6′ 7″. . . . well, I get the connection because the President is a giant in my eyes too because of the strength of his character. lolol

Here is to wishing you a great future Harry. You are quite a guy.

Hey, are you in? We could use all the help to get this President elected in 2012. It is going to be a tough slog but we can do it with your help
Check out Organizing for America on the blogroll on the right side of this blog. Outside of that, keep your head up and keep doing what you are doing.
