Rick Perry passes Mitt Romney, becomes GOP frontrunner
    =============================================

Apparently, the Mittness protection program couldn’t protect Millard Romney’s lead in the polls.

It’s official. In the semi-meaningful horse race that media types obsess over, based on polls in which no one gets even 40 percent of the vote, Mitt Romney is no longer the front runner for the GOP nomination for president. That honor belongs to Rick Perry. And while I’m making a little bit light of the low overall vote totals, in a primary, Perry’s mo does mean something, because it resets the terms of the debate. The media will now gravitate toward him, and Mitt will lose that veneer of inevitability.

Saw Ezra last night. I think he might vote for Perry…I hate it when he spins real negatives and makes a positive.

Do you think the media has a pool bet, seeing if they can get the people in the US to vote for another idiot?

I was very disappointed and surprised at Ezra’s spin for Perry.

I used to be disapointed by these people, but now I see them for what they really are, NOTHING! They call themselves experts, they think they know everything and what they have to say is important…I DON’T. They are just collecting a pay check, while doing a real disservice to the voters on the left and the right…it is a shame what they do day in and day out. If they had to depend on me for a paycheck they would go broke because I don’t waste my time listening to them anymore

PPP: Obama leads in Wisconsin, Iowa

New Public Policy Poll results out of Wisconsin and Iowa suggest President Obama’s re-election strategy may boil down to not being a Republican.

The polling shows that while the president’s numbers are weak, particularly in Wisconsin, he is the preferred choice given the GOP alternative. And with Perry rising and Romney (the strongest general election candidate on the GOP side) fading in recent polls, that means Democrats could wind up benefiting from the tea party phenomenon.
    .
    .
The numbers suggest Republicans have really damaged themselves by courting the tea party and evangelical extremes (Iow), and by going after unions with such vicious abandon (Wisconsin). The numbers also bode well for Obama versus the Republican alternative in places like Ohio and Pennsylvania, where unions vote in big numbers. Even if Romney survives the Rick Perry ascendancy and gets the nomination, he will have to run so far to the right, and adopt so many tea party memes, he’ll be vulnerable too, and it doesn’t help that he’s Mr. “Corporations are People, My Friend” and a Bain Capital titan of finance, who even Rick Perry is spinning as a ruthless corporate shill.

Yes, 2012 will be one part referendum on the president’s performance on the economy, but it will also be one or more parts choice between Obama and the alternative.

You’d think it’d be a piece of cake given how crazy the GOP has become. Still, I’m not complaining. Anything that helps PBO is fine with me.

Gadhafi had the wrong taste in Rices, Susan Rice is much more appealing in looks, personality, smarts, and morals.

You’re right about that…my guess is, he preferred more of a “yes” girl….after all, she always seemed to agree with Bush and HIS lame ideas.

I did not agree with Rice in her politics but there is nothing to suggest that she is immoral …or not as intelligent…as far as appearearance…looksare in the eys of the beholder….

If Condi Rice were moral she would not have worked for and gone along with Cheney/Bush. As for smarts, Condi went to the University of Denver and Notre Dame, Susan, Stanford and Oxford.

Fear…and Racism…is one the the GOPs greatest weapons…they build on it…and use it to persuade folks to vote against their interests…this has been an ongoing struggle……Coalition building….trying to find common ground…to break thru the mis trust…and the fear…is not an easy task…but as the President say…we struruggle with this …to from a more perfect union….
