Love him but…I know he cant…gotta get rid of the helmet. On a better note. CBC holding jobs fair in Miami…large group of us down there registering voters and canvassers.

Also, will you tell CBC to get off the President’s back and put the focus where it belongs? Thanks!!!

Yes – agree – attacking the White House representative who attended the event in Miami. Not good. I’m not surprised (due to the Rep. Maxine Waters, et al., comments in advance), but I’m still disappointed.

        • August 23, 2011 at 7:23 pm

Now that I started tweeting, I was wondering how I could find the tweet addresses for the CBC members?
Do I just use their full names and then the address will come up? Sorry I am so behind the times.

      • August 23, 2011 at 11:58 am

Tell the dam CBC that the blame lies with those radical racists Tea Party. Waters and the others ought to know that.

        • August 23, 2011 at 12:05 pm

By the way, ask the CBC were was these job fairs before things got so bad? In other words the CBC weren’t doing a dam thing for the Black Community. Now that loud mouth Waters want to try to get nasty. I hope people (the voters) will understand, that the President can’t pass a darn bill by himself. Waters knows that, so why aren’t she going after John Boehner and the Tea Party? Why is the Hillary supporter Waters, attacking the President?

Sue – Thank you for all you are doing in South Florida!

Have you seen this piece on the CBC jobs fair?

I’m beyond words, and haven’t even read the whole article yet. Could you give us an on-the-ground report, if you have any time later?

I hope they have been registering voters at every job fair – that would have only been practical. Also inform voters about the voter suppression measures in their respective states.

    • August 23, 2011 at 11:43 am

That’s exactly what needs to happen at these events. Thanks for stepping up once again, Sue.

Gotta KEEP that helmet. Sets a good example for young people who suffer countless head injuries each each because they don’t wear helmets.

Malia is getting to the age where she doesn’t want to do this type of thing with her parents, especially with cameras around. It’s good that she went away to camp for the summer, to allow her to be just a regular (as can be with SS protection) 13 yr old.

President Obama rocking the sneakers and rolled up jeans is a style upgrade from past biking pics.

SS man in the back doesn’t look like he’s having much fun.

      Oh, I don’t know … 🙂 … my granddaughters (ages 8, 17, 19, 21) love spending time with their Daddy like this!

    • August 23, 2011 at 12:33 pm

Str, it’s not the SS job to have fun. They have one job and one job only. To keep the First Family safe. And I don’t think Malia is like that. I remember the picture of the First Family walking from church, and Sasha was holding Barack’s hand, and Malia was holding Michelle’s hand. I recall saying to myself when looking at that picture of them, you don’t see too many 13 year old who want to be holding their Mom’s hand as they walk down the street. This First Family is for real, and I think they love spending time together. We are bless to have them as our First Family.

StR – girls love being with their Daddy especially if they have a good one. Regardless of how old they get. Whether they are 8 weeks or 80 years. That will never change.

  3. August 23, 2011 at 11:40 am

Aw! Daddy’s girl 😛 . I am an older sis of two, so Malia always pulls at my heart strings. Lovely pic.

Do not forget Str, this is a family vacation. They do things together. Who would not like being with a daddy like President Barack Obama? I think that the age factor in this case has nothing to do with it. Malia understands her position and she also is very aware of her father’s position. It all comes with the territory. I love seeing the President with his daughters no matter how tall or older they are getting. That is a beautiful sight. Malia is very laid back, but very aware of what is going on around her. Love this.

I hope Pat Buchannon of MSNBC does not see this photo. He gets very upset when President Obama is seen wearing a bicycle helmet. He thinks it is bad PR and looks wimpy. We all know how Buchannon and the Morning Joe crew are authorities on manliness.

    • 21 utaustinliberal
      August 23, 2011 at 11:50 am

I remember when he said that on Morning Joe. Mocking President Obama for wearing a helmet and riding a bicycle on holiday. According to him real Americans don’t do that on their holidays. They just strap themselves into a car and head to podunk town where bicycle riding is a taboo. Rev Al Sharpton was on that day and he shut Buchannan, Nicole Wallace, Mark Halperin, and Willie Geist down. Made them look like the petty jealous fools they are.

Unlike Buchanan, President Obama has a very large and brilliant brain to protect, I say take due precautions Mr. President. Maybe Buchanan suffered a head injury along the way…seems to be suffering from some kind of cranial dysfunction.

      August 23, 2011 at 11:54 am

He would crab if he didn’t wear a helmet too. It doesn’t matter—-whatever Obama does is never right. Pat prefers Palin optics.
Looks like a beautiful day on a scenic bike path. Like to see dad and daughter have this time together. It would be vexing, tho, to always have an entourage, always someone right behind you. I give them so much credit for this sacrifice, for putting up with all the stuff, all the “commotion” as Malia once called it, that goes along with being POTUS and his family.

Let him open his petty, and hateful mouth. Just remember what he says reflects on him more the subject of his comments.

    • August 23, 2011 at 12:16 pm

Bill, to put it plain and simply, I don’t give a dam what Pat Buchannan have to say about this picture. Let me tell you what I see, I see a man who loves spending time with his family. At times when we see so many men who doesn’t have time for his family, here we see the President of the United States spending quality time with his wife and daughters. So if that dried up old racists Buchannan want to try to say something negative, who give a freaking frat? Not me.

Look what Michele Bachmann’s hatemonger hath wrought:

GAY BASHING LEADS TO DEATH IN MICHELE BACHMANN’S HOMETOWN | After a brutal fight in which he was called “faggot,” 19-year-old Marcellus Richard Andrews of Waterloo, Iowa died from his injuries. Waterloo is the hometown of Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann, who voted against federal hate crimes protections and has regularly opposed anti-bullying policies.

I’m in tears over this. My son is going to be 19 in a couple of weeks. He starts UConn next week. This could be my son. I despise everything Michele Bachmann and her ilk stand for. They are like a virus of evil infiltrating the souls of the weak and ignorant. Their hatemongering has real and fatal consequences, and this is why we must strip away all the pretenses and the media facade and show the world who they really are.

This is painful. My heart hurts because of this. I taught students who had to deal with hateful, bullying acts everyday of their lives, and it is very depleting to the soul. We need to stop and re-adjust our thoughts, our hearts, and our souls. This should never have to happen to anyone’s child, not one. My heart is too full to continue. May his family find peace and love among the gentle souls of loving people around them. HZ

I think I see Mitt Romney way behind, in the distance on his bike also. He’s wearing “Dad” jeans and a helmet. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the 13 year old daughter – his youngest child (a son) is ~ 30 yrs old. But hey, adoption is always an option!!

I will show my 8 year old nephew that even The President has to wear a helmet so that he puts his on too. Michelle you are really rocking the purple biker shorts. Let the haters Hate Girl. I bow down to you First Lady. Iam loving PBO’s sneakers. Oh my sasha and Malia I love you too. Where Bo?

Looks like CBS has joined the Cable news networks (FOX, CNN, MSNBC) to pathetically DECEIVE the public. Guys we might only have ABC left for objective reporting. NBC is the parent company of MSNBC. They want Romney or Perry in the Whitehouse. PBO’s numbers are already way down now they are trying to sink him further. They do not want his BIG JOBS PLAN to gain any traction with the public when he presents it to the nation in early Sept.

This travesty of reporting (lies about the responsibility for the national debt) is a pre-emptive strike to diminish the impact of PBO’s Jobs Plan announcement. This is getting ugly folks. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!!! Obama/Biden 2012!!

      August 23, 2011 at 12:53 pm

      Uhhhh…what? ABC objective? Um, no.

We must all understand this…Any media outlet owned by the few conglomerates that own every major MegaMedia outlet are not concerned with journalism, or ratings for that manner. They are strictly propaganda mills for their MegaRich owners, and nothing else. Nothing.

Do not go looking for them for validation for what we talk about here. You will never get it as long as these few MegaRich people are allowed to own it all. They will always serve to distort and take down any politician who tries to increase their taxes or break up their racket, such as President Barack Hussein Obama.

The way to combat them at this point is online (small effect) and day-to-day educating of anyone you have a chance to speak with about politics (huge effect). Notice that’s how President Obama did the same to win in a historic landslide? We must do the same in regard to ending the MegaMedia stranglehold on our public discourse.

I’m happy they are going biking, but from the pictures above Malia is not wearing the helmet properly. I am only mentioning this because it is a mistake people often make.

If you look at President Obama, he is wearing the helmet properly. It fits him. The same with Michelle and Sasha, as well as the secret service agents.

This is an adorable family. I, too, am the older of two daughters, and there was never a day when I was embarrassed to be with my dad. I think Malia is the same way. A girl with a good dad always knows she is treasured, and that is a gift not likely to be thrown away. My daughter is 40, and she and her dad still have the greatest time together. When she was growing up, and she and I were at each other’s throats, which you know happens, she never took it out on her dad. Dad was always great. He was bewildered a lot, but that tie is unbreakable. Malia seems quite mature to me, and is not likely to do anything to make her dad look bad. Those two girls are adored!
