Associated Press reporters with the rebels coming from the west into Tripoli said they reached the city’s Janzour suburb at nightfall on Sunday. They were greeted by civilians lining the streets and waving rebel flags.

prettyfoot 58, and in the sharing of information such as this and everything that Chipsticks posts here at TOD. some people just need to be shown that it can happen for them too. I encourage my family and friends to check out whitehouse.gov to see what programs and policies are posted. get to know the FACTS not the RUMORS.
Our small family business (third generation) was almost taken out by the crash. The President saved the auto industry and that helped save us because a big part of what we make gets sold into the auto industry. We had B of A as our bank until last Friday. We had never missed a payment of interest or principle but with the crash of building values our structure lost a third of its value and the ratio of our assets to debt no longer fit the agreement we had with the bank (covenant) so they almost foreclosed. Also we became aware that they really didn’t want small businesses that made stuff on their portfolio anymore (really!) but thanks to the protest of workers in a large plant in the Midwest over a similar threat of foreclosure and I am sure the pressure the administration put on B of A (because of course they had been bailed out) the plant was kept open. About that time B of A gave us a “waiver”, however they jacked up our interest rates, imposed huge “fees” which we had to pay out every quarter for as long as we stayed with them (remember they want us out) and made us hire a multi hundred dollar an hour “management cunsultant” who we now know probably was there just to make sure B of A got the most out of us when we were foreclosed upon. At that time the medium sized banks were not in a position to take on new customers. However, when the administration spearheaded the semi-guaranteed loans for small businesses through the SBA, medium sized banks that had our info were suddenly coming out to speak with us. In the end we we didn’t need to actually get a loan from the program but it loosened things up so that we had over a dozen banks to choose from, could get much better terms and select someone who seemed to know about our industry. We signed on Friday of last week.
Our small business supports my ailing mom, myself and my sibs, all of our children and the families of several people that have been working with us for their entire working life and now their kids are joining us. All of that would be gone today, all the expertise and know how and long standing relationships, if it weren’t for the President, his administration and the Dems that worked for these bills, IMHO.
CH, to hear that you and your family’s company have weathered and are weathering the storm is welcome news. To know that our President and his administration have a part in your progress, as behoves good government, makes my pride in his governance swell. š

We need to remind ourselves that the pundits on TV and in the blogosphere are for the most part VERY affluent and would not suffer under a Republican Presidency. I believe that they are genuinely afraid that if PBO gets re-elected, he will implement policies that would force them to give up some of their excessive profits which will be funneled in the form of decent wages and meaningful jobs to those who are in the middle and working classes. So we cannot allow ourselves to be brainwashed by their drivel about President Obama. They are NOT for the middle-class, they are for the upper 2%. And we can expect that going forward until Nov 2012, the MSM will be increasingly vicious towards this president.
No mention of unicorns farting gold glitter and pissing rainbows.

I didn’t watch the morning shows this morning, it’s a good thing. I just read this from Jake Tapper interview with D. Axelrod.

Or do you cynically believe that because these people have nowhere else to go, theyāll end up voting for Obama?ā

I’ve been following american politics for years but I’m still in shock of how corrupt the media is, how RW control the airwaves, press, radio. I can’t believe how manipulative they are and how people fall for it. No wonder republicans have been in power a lot longer than Democrats.
As a Canadian, it’s like 2 different worlds.
Lying is Illegal in Canada(‘s news broadcasts)

There’s a right-wing channel now in Canada, Sun TV, I think they started in April this year
Here what’s happening to them:
Sun TV was in fact given a license to broadcast in Canada. This happened because some honest, rational authorities in Canada, knowing Sun TV had never broadcast anything anywhere before, these officials felt that they could hardly block the new channel with a pre-emptive strike (straight out of Bush II’s manual for righteous war making) based on what what they thought or had been told what Sun TV’s intentions were. Because the anti-lying provision is still intact, Sun TV has not become the Fox News-style, right wing propaganda machine it wanted to be. It can’t. Sun TV must play by Canadian broadcast rules or lose their license to broadcast in Canada.
Journalists are suppose to tell facts, not lies, not spins, not fabrication, not propaganda. This is not journalism, it’s propaganda, it’s politics. It’s a different ball game and it’s controlling the narrative and it’s dangerous.
No wonder they are responsible for the rise of the far-right.
What was Axe’s response?
AXELROD: Well, first of all, no one is cynically moving one way or the other. The president is not moving left or right; he’s interested in moving the country forward.
And we’ve got a very, very sharp debate here. And the question is, are we going to take steps in the short run to help stimulate this economy, to help create jobs, to help create growth? And are we going to take the steps in the long run that will protect the investments that can grow our economy and, most importantly, Jake, can create good middle-class jobs in the future on which people can raise their families?

I think what Axe did was refused to take the bait about profound disappointment, rejected the premise that the President is looking at policies as left or right but forward, and pivoted to the message the administration wants to send about jobs, jobs, jobs. A nicely framed answer for a purposefully skewed question.

i think he changed the dynamics of the question…by asking another question…by posing his own talking point…..there is no answer to Jake’s question that does not lead to a trap….and Axelrod wisley poses a more important question…
