I won’t be able to get close to the President here in Peoria tomorrow, but I will look up to see if I can spot/hear Air Force One! Be still, my heart. Have a great Wednesday, President Obama!

When does he start his well deserved vacation….soon I hope.

    • August 16, 2011 at 9:54 pm

I imagine the President will be glad to start his vacation with his family.

      • August 16, 2011 at 9:56 pm

I’m sure he loves getting out of Washington and spending time with the real Americans, but I’m sure he also loves the down time with his family.

Thursday, and no one has ever deserved a vacation more, so shut up media. I do think he has enjoyed this little jaunt through the countryside these last couple of days, extra bounce in his step, seemed to be having fun. Looking forward to a vacay with friends and family probably helps too.
I see Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are going on the road, a Taking Back the Republic event or some dumb thing. I would think that pretty much wraps up Palin’s presidential ambitions, as humorous as that phrase is all on its own. You don’t join forces with Glenn Beck and then run for president, do you? And would you pay $20–97 bucks for that horror show? Who in the world would? How could you be that stupid?

And while I’m at it, Malia and Sasha are two lucky kids to have such wonderful parents. They are two lucky parents to have lovely kids. And we are lucky to have Barack as our President and Michelle as our First Lady.

      Congratulations WI…next recall Walker!

      • August 16, 2011 at 11:22 pm

PPP has Walker polling back upwards of 45% – people have really short memories it seems. Dems should be able to get the votes because it would be statewide and they can pile the votes in from Madison – however they’d need Feingold to announce because he’s the only one who beats Walker by enough to justify the effort.

I’d like to see the Dems try to recall a couple other State Sens from the 2010 class as well. Shultz might have voted against the anti-union bill, but he also voted for the budget that cut 800M from schools and gave tax breaks to corporations. He’s in a district only slightly less blue than Kapanke’s.

That photo of PBO is very revealing of who he is in all respects: the intelligence, the warmth, the consummate charm, the introversion and thoughtfulness, the incredible magnetism, a certain sweet lovingness – just off the charts.

I just finished watching the Rev Al show online and towards the end of one segment, I was just shaking my head and laughing….Why does Michael Steele keep returning to Rev Al’s show? Does he like being abused? Or is he that desperate for attention….?

    Holperin won!!!!

  15. August 16, 2011 at 10:57 pm

Thanks Chips, what a way to end a long day with that oh so fine pic of my POTUS!!!!

    • August 16, 2011 at 11:10 pm

So both Dems won I assume?? Earlier when I was watching my recorded version of Rachel, he was behind. I am glad that he won. She had Ed on her show. Her show was going fine until she brought him on. I stayed just few seconds to see what he was going to say. Just as I thought, he bashed PBO. He need to stop this broken record about the unions and hold himself accountable for telling them to stay at home. PBO ignores him and stays focused.

      • August 16, 2011 at 11:16 pm

I only watched for few seconds when he was on Rachel. then, when he did the same segment on his show, I muted him. Wanted to hear the end of the show about WI election and hear what John Nichols had to say, but figured I didn’t need to hear Ed bashing PO.

        GO WISCONSIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. August 16, 2011 at 11:17 pm

    Let Obama be Obama

The man in the Oval Office right now is not Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton. Given the constant references to these former presidents amid the post-debt deal crescendo of hand-wringing from supporters, criticism from opponents and commentary from the chattering class, a casual observer could easily be confused.

But actually, itโ€™s Barack Obama. And hereโ€™s the dirty little secret: Heโ€™s governing exactly as he said he would.

Wirch, Holperin WIN SENATE RECALL IN WISCONSIN

On the fourth election day of the summer, two Democratic incumbents were victorious. Sen. Jim Holperin (D-Conover) beat challenger and tea party activist Kim Simac of Eagle River, and Sen. Bob Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie) easily topped Republican lawyer Jonathan Steitz.

The dominating wins in Wisconsin tonight are massive victories. They won something like 5 out of 9 recall elections (and very close in some of losses), and the thing I think that gets lost in these is that they happened in strong Repub territory. This is a truly historic result and WI Dems, and Dems everywhere for that matter, should be very encouraged by this against-all-odds success.

To think they can now turn their 100% focus on the guy who takes 20 minute phones from a fake Billionaire in the middle of a day with possibly the largest protests in state history right outside his window is just very exciting to me. It’s showtime boys and girls!

      August 17, 2011 at 10:36 am

Does this mean the Dems have the Senate back, or did they need to win all recall elections to get it back.

Hey TOD Family, can we let this opportunity go by without us “baptizing” (officially naming) this Presidential bus that President Obama launcged?
