This is gold Chipsticks. Think this would make a good campaign add too. I just kind of welled up when I saw this. What a great, decent man. thanks.
I heard these remarks today when President Obama made them. It stopped me in my tracks because I could sense he was about to say something memorable and profound. He did not disappoint. This is a beautiful soundbite from the Iowa visit. It pretty much sums up his presidency. President Obama continues to make his critics look petty and small.
So agree. He is just outstanding in every way. He never disappoints.
OT a bit, but here is a great account of Obama’s stop at a high school today and other stops he made as he meandered through the Iowa countryside today:

And this is the press he is after. The local press not jaded and cynical who thinks they’re part of the insider game. It’s this local press that will sway voters with one story than Tapper, Todd and the like will do in one month of breathless, hair-on-fire reporting. The Tappers, and Todds write for the keyed in political junkies. People want an even-keeled President. Look at all the great coaches in sport and one thing they’ll all say is that you can’t let your players see you angry, frustrated or losing it because then that gets them frazzled. You can’t get too high or too low and have to be painfully consistent in never letting them see you sweat. The press was desperate to get President Obama to rush back to Washington and call back Congress because of the stock market – that would have been the worst possible thing he could have done. More than anything there is a crisis in consumer confidence – and running back to Washington to really do nothing would have shown certain level of panic that would have only further chilled spending and confidence in the economy.
Amen, amen! Perfectly stated!
Wow you have been on fire STR. Excellent evaluation.
It never fails, the one thing the hair-on-fire-crowd and MSM advocate for the loudest is the sure fire thing that is guaranteed to make the President look bad were he to take their advice. AND THEY KNOW IT.
Bravo StR! Very well said, sir! One of the main reasons I support President Obama is that he respects the intelligence of the majority of Americans. By simply creating drama, as the media and the PL want, without solving anything, is really pointless.
What a statement the President makes ….and yet…the Republicans want to charge their constituents to come to a town hall meeeting…unbelievable
Hi Chips,
Greetings from the UK. I just wanted to say thanks a million for creating this site. I cannot tell you how much joy it gives me to read all the love and positive energy that we surround our most dear President and each other with on a daily basis. May God bless you and your family for your hard work.
Welcome Manny, this is a very special site. It is great to see others from outside the US comment. We here do love our President.
Welcome Manny OKE. Yes, this is a wonderful place to come to and find factual information, great people, and most of all deep respect for each other and for our President. Ships make this a haven of peace, great conversation, sharing of our love and respect within our family. So I hope that you will enjoy your time here and join in the conversations with the love and excitement that carries great respect for each other and a very deep respect for our President. Welcome!!
And this is why people will vote for this President. At the core of him, at the root of his being, he is a decent, good, and honest man. No matter how the media and the GOP try to demonize him, people inherently feel and see this.
Utaustinliberal, here’s a good photo of PBO throwing popccorn to the press. I am choosing photos for my scrapbook. 🙂

Thanks for this COS. He’s very generous with the WH press pool. Whenever he goes to a burger joint, restaurant, ice cream parlor; he always purchases food and snacks for them. 🙂 They’re lucky. If I were him and after listening to the mess they spread about him, I would throw Bo’s poo in a bag at them. See how they like them apples. 🙄
I am dying laughing UT. 🙂 Bo’s dog poo. LOL
In fact COS, Bo’s poo is probably too sweet and wonderful for these press people. You know Bo is constantly around loving, positive, and very kind and decent energy, so what goes in comes out. You get my drift. But you know how kind and generous our President is to all people. But do not take him for a fool. He reminds them every once and a while, and we will also.
The worst thing is that they always turn him down – like they think they’d be seen as being bought off and showing favoritism if they took some shaved ice paid for by the President. This shows a lack of confidence in their work I believe. I also think the MSM is hard on him sometimes because I think they do like him and protect against that potential showing though by being harder on him.
Beg to differ on this…
They have no problem accepting stuff from Repubs…remember the infamous press Bar-B-Que at the McCain “cottage,” which was more like a mansion? Jonathan Martin of GOPolitico brought a big bouquet of flowers for Sindee McCain. All kinds of MegaMedia “reporters” were there frolicking for an entire afternoon (that’s not an exaggeration as seen in the video). The fawning coverage of McCain continued x2 after that. Mission accomplished.
We all must understand that any MegaMedia “reporter” has their job for one reason and one reason only – to keep any actual Liberal legislation from passing and keep the electorate voting against their own best interest. They aren’t “writing for political junkies” at all. They are purposely creating anti-Liberal propaganda.
Over these last 10 years or so, I don’t know how much clearer it can be. We all must understand this. There’s no point in trying to change their minds. We must simply replace the MegaMedia with new outlets for information. President Obama’s approach has been genius on so many levels, and I feel perhaps the most important is that he bypassed the traditional avenues of communication, and created channels through online tools and good old-fashioned Organizing to communicate directly with his supporters and those mushy middle voters who are key to winning over.
President Obama left them in their tracks a long time ago……these guys don’t like that he wouldn’t get in their clown car. I agree, I think the groundwork for fundamental change has been laid…President Obama has put governance over politics, the people over the press and the special interests, and is encouraging people to become equal partners in the shaping and direction of America, all while being genuine, straight forward, civil , respectful, and above all smart. Change…..alot of people still don’t recognize it, someday they will wake up and wonder how they missed the big switch.
Absolutely spot on Sue…
The D.C crowd is so pissed that he circumvents them with these sort of visits with real people, they resort to poo-pooing the trip & its great results…
They get particularly miffed at how popular President Obama remains…
I was just listening to a replay of Randi Rhodes on the radio and during the news brief at half past the hour, there was a snippet of David Gergen doing his little dismissal of President Obama’s road trip…
These are the same people who scream about the President going into communities to hear from real people and when he does and does so successfully, they yell that he must return to D.C…
They are all insanely, mad-crazy, green-eyed nuts, these pundits…
I agree, StR. I was heartened to see that the pathetic WHPC sang him happy birthday when he arrived back in Washington on his birthday. At least they had that small level of decency.
Now, now, Lol
Those were some FANTASTIC pics!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS MAN! This is why people will vote for him. He’s real, he’s genuine, he’s the only adult in the room. (miss you, BWD, but get the rest and relaxation you need. I’m snatchin’ a quote from your site from my vice president that I also love to pieces!)
Joe Biden said the following regarding Barack Obama in the December 2010 issue of GQ magazine.
“He’s got a backbone like a ramrod, a brain bigger than his skull and a heart that just keeps beatin’ “
I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!
I LOVE MY PRESIDENT and VICE PRESIDENT! Also love that quote from Joe.
I love them too, they are perfect for each other, and It shows, lots of love and respect there 😀 I love It 🙂
“I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS MAN!” Yeah…that.
He is just so real. That is what I think a lot of people don’t get about him. They maybe expect that like many politicians, especially those in it for personal gain, our POTUS has a secret, hidden agenda. We know he is who and what he says he is, his actions tell the whole story. No one can stand in front of people without a script and make up this genuine caring. The guy is heart-centered, and we are so blessed! There is no one like him!
