That link at the top just gets me some nonsense about some binder some students are giving to Rubio who support him for POTUS. 😡

Even though it says it’s Obama’s speech.

    Someone hacked C-SPAN.com? WTF?

    • 8 utaustinliberal
      August 3, 2011 at 10:07 pm

Nope that’s the video. C-Span hasn’t totally cleaned up the video yet. Rubio was having some discussion or other and after that, C-Span went to the live feed of President Obama’s fundraiser.

Rubio is actually very unimpressive when you see him speak. He might take a good still shot, but he oozes college Republican when he speaks.

Now remember this folks when you feel down or concerned or talk to folks who are.. remember these people in these crowds- WE HERE see them all the time because of Chips and BWD.. so WE KNOW the truth of the respect, love and enthusiasm this President receives all across this country.. but many of our fellow citizens have no idea about all this- because they get snippets of news filling their ears all from the media who don’t show his speeches, don’t show these crowds.. always talk about the ‘disgruntled’ this or ‘angry’ that.. or ‘disappointed’ so and so.
THIS is REALITY and we know it because we have nearly 4 years of evidence to prove it. Listen all day to the media if you want or need to.. because we do need to know the lies they’re telling and we do need to know which repub talking point they’re pushing and which facts they’re omitting- because our neighbors are hearing those lies and talking points- but WE here, WE should never fall into that fear bracket or that ‘concern’ that President Barack Obama is not popular or does not have a strong healthy hearty base.. or that he doesn’t have our back and we. his. Not US.
this is beautiful Chips- thank you always~

I posted pic #31 on my FB page with the comment “A slice of real America at Pres. Obama’s DNC fundraiser in Chicago” because I want my FB “friends” most of whom are white, live in GA, and vote for republicans, to realize that not every white person in this country is anti-Obama. Maybe a few of them will get the begin to think that it’s okay to break from their families, friends, and church members and give him a second look. I know most of them are Fox viewers, and their comments about PBO on my FB page are never positive.

sheri, I am here with you all just about everyday (at least 6 days) and I am s very thankful to have found TOD. There are days I don’t even turn on MSM because I know what they are going to say before they even say anything. A really good friend of mine called me yesterday…she wanted me to “talk her down” because she was upset by what she was hearing from the talking heads. I told her what I know and I also directed her to places where she can get the facts (I turned her on to TOD, I send her links, articles, etc). I told her to turn off the TV and she said she will watch so she can get information so she can think for herself to form her own opinions. I told her that for the most part she is only getting opinions, not facts. By the end of the conversation she was more informed and I felt totally accompished! But today…today she called PISSED OFF again! She was upset by what the talking heads were spitting out today…she was on board with the rhetoric that PBO wasn’t doing enough re JOBS…he wasn’t/hasn’t talked enough about JOBS….blah, blah, blah. She got up set with me and accused me of being so in awe with PBO I can’t/won’t see his flaws/shortcomings and when he is just wrong. I told her that there are things I don’t like/don’t agree with that this administration has done/is doing, but I support PBO 100%. She said the average person is not going to do what I do i.e. read, research, etc…I told her it is time out for people to be average and so what they have always done…these times call for all of us to step outside of the ourshelves/what we used to do/the box…last week I answered PBO’s call to action…I made phone calls. In the past I have sent emails and letters. I wanted to ask her what have she don’t for US lately…but she got the message. I told her that I believe I can’t complain if I don’t do my part…she changed the subject. When we were ending our conversation, she said had learned alot and I had given her a lot to thing about…

      Stay strong TOD family!!!!!!!!!

      • August 4, 2011 at 1:02 am

Puddin you are my hero.. what you did is hard and it takes persistence and committment, thank you for sticking with it- for staying the course by providing the proper info. One thing.. people hear on teevee these ‘opinions’ and yet they’re willing to argue those same opinions with other folks who do take the time to research. I tell people that if they want FACTS then go to whitehouse.gov and to Congress.gov and get the facts. If they want opinions turn on any tv station. but don’t tell me msnbc’s opinion or Cnn’s or Fox’s.. and expect I’m gonna not have some facts for you. This I think is the true character of the Obama supporters- the ones who write, email call and knock on doors like you (and me).. we live by the facts..

This is going to be hard for all of us.. as hard and or harder than the last election.. not because there is an candidate out there worth their salt.. but because we will always always have to fight the media’s lies. All of them will be attacking POTUS and its going to be very harsh. In fact I think next month is going to be harsh as these repub/teabaggers are spending there 5 weeks off plotting their next plan of assault on we the American people in their determined to bring down President Obama… but they cannot take away what WE KNOW and WE are the force they really fear… never forget when POTUS asked us to call Congress last week .. and look what happened 🙂 🙂

It seems that people refer to our President as “Obama” not out of disrespect but out of appreciation for his distinctiveness that seems to be bigger than the US presidency.

For example, you would not see a sign “Happy Birthday Bush” from his supporters. They would always put the “President” before it because “Bush “cannot stand on it’s own. “Obama” can stand on it’s own without seeming disrespectful, kinda like “Ghandi.”

I am home now so I can post from my computer and not my phone. We just returned from our party. There were only 10 people there. Wish there would have been more. Loved the message from the President via skype. He also took questions from volunteers in NC and Chicago. It was so great to see him smile and be free of dealing with Congress. Then he went downstairs to the party and we listened to his speech there.

We talked about talking to our friends who voted and now say they are disappointed. I felt good to be able to give alot of the information I get here and at TOAITR. Our biggest problems will be to educate people. We all must talk to everyone we know and get this information out there.

We will have a big fight in our state for governor, senator and representative. Alot of repub money is coming here. I plan to be involved in all of them. I am fired up and ready to go.

In honor of Deaniac83 and his TPV colleagues, the following is my birthday greetings to President Obama:

    Dear Mr President,

A wonderful supporter of yours and a brilliant analyst, “Deaniac93” at The People’s View commented to me that Radical Republicans “”they don’t like to do this reading thing very much … .”

To which I responded, “… the more one looks at the reality of what is now law, the more one realizes that Boehner and McConnell could not have either read or comprehended what the implications for them are.

At the core of this law, they are firmly stuck between the interests of the MIC (and their behemoth lobbyists) and the non-MIC uber-wealthy (hedge fund managers, bankers, petro corporations, and other recipients of massive subsidies and tax breaks). Because the only options for Boehner and the Radical Republican Party are to either accept that the Bush tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations are not renewed along with other subsidies and tax loop holes being eliminated, or face a massive reduction in defense spending.

They are legally prohibited from touching Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security with the exception of some minor adjustments in Medicare provider support.

Boehner and his gang of extortionists and Senate enablers will face well before the end of this year the stark, unavoidable, legislatively mandated reality – they either place the National Security of the United States at risk in order to serve the special interests of the ultra-wealthy, big oil, corporate jet owners, etc. … or not.

Hmmm … tough choice, you betcha.

They should have listened to the President when he told them – send me a ‘clean bill’ or get serious and let’s do something truly big and balanced.

Instead, blinded by their arrogance, disabled by their lack of intellectual discipline, they resorted to grandstanding and extortion. Now, when they open the bag they’re going to find monopoly money and a little note – ‘read the law, dude, and weep.’ ”

    We get it Mr President.

    Happy Birthday,

    Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!

*sigh* Tonight I had to school an old friend on FB who wrote that he was tired, and thinks “our guy is doomed….” of course he lives in the OC… still no excuse. So I thought I’d share, because I know many of you have the same whiny friends and family right now.

XXX, you know I love you, but you need to stop that WOE IS ME BULLSHIT RIGHT THE FUCK NOW.

“Our guy is doomed” only if we’re a bunch of whining losers who don’t have his back, and are too lazy to educate the stupid and correct the insane. We’ve just been handed a huge gift in this teaparty terrorist hostage taking mess and if we’re too lazy and stupid to run with it, then we deserve to have America FAIL.

1: The US GOV (Fed/State/Local) actually DOES create jobs – it’s the world’s LARGEST EMPLOYER with more employees WORLDWIDE than any company. And they can create jobs faster, and more cost effectively (WHEN PROPERLY FUNDED) than any company because there is no profit or multimillion dollar CEOS.

3: EVERYONE who signed the King Norquist pledge should be removed from office and tried for sedition. If that doesn’t happen, then let’s VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

80% of this country wants the Bush tax cuts to EXPIRE, and loopholes CLOSED. The only ones who are going to do that are the DEMS. OBAMA NEVER EVER HAD a Super Majority in the House or 60 magical votes in the Senate. HE IS NOT A DICTATOR FOR FUCK SAKE!

The reason the TEAPS got in in 2010 is because the LEFT STAYED HOME. The EmoProgs can STFU with their whining that over 30 years of GOP systematic dismantling of our society wasn’t fixed on Jan 21, 2009.

The GOP OWNS THE FUCKING MEDIA. We can fight back by calling, email, tweeting and COMPLAIN that you disagree and will boycott.

But if you think YOU can’t make a difference and multiply that by millions, then yes, we’re doomed because a small, insane, bigoted minority in this country get their marching orders from Rush, and have more energy than we do. THAT IS PATHETIC.

People in Syria are dying in the streets for what they want, and all we can do is whine from the comfort of our little homes. BOO FUCKING HOO.

Obama is the best and smartest POTUS in my lifetime, and I’m going to fight for him.

HILLARY is NOT going to primary Obama, I don’t care how much the PL whine. It’s NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. In fact, if we’re stupid enough as a party to allow anyone to primary him, then the Left will fracture worse than the right is, and there will be no hope ever.

So either be part of the solution, or STFU because you’re PART OF THE PROBLEM. YOUR CALL.

Righteous. You just gave me some direction for my letter to the DOJ ..thanks. America’s addiction to whining and instant gratification just pours gasoline on this fire. People need to start being serious about the ways they have enabled our current situation and to cut the carping and get involved …or STFU and get the government they deserve. No such thing as free lunch.

We should be mobilizing people to join forces with NAN Reverend Sharpton’s march/rally in DC 27August.

I’m always telling the Progressives that if they had gotten their asses out to vote in 2010, President Obama wouldn’t be dealing with those racists radical terrorists known as the Tea-Republicans. Happy Birthday President Obama. May the Lord heal the the stabs that your vicious opposition has knifed into your presidency and person. You have thrived in spite of their spite. You soldier on even if your own left flank screeches incessantly. You inspire many of us on how to triumph over adversity. So kick back and enjoy this day with your lovely wife, children, friends and family. I wish you a long long healthy and fulfilling life. And keep that hope-filled smile ALWAYS!!! Cheers Mr. President
